Born June 11, 1934 in Minnesota, was known to be loved by all that knew her, passed away June 6, 2000. She is survived by 6 children, 11 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. Graveside services are at Fir Lane Memorial Park, Sunday, June 11th at 1:00pm. Happy Birthday, Mom!

Kitty Setsuko Yarrington (Honda)
Feb. 3, 1933 to June 3, 2000
Beloved mother of Kathy Whitham (Seattle) and Dawn Yarrington (San Francisco). Loving Grammy of Zakery, Natalie and Cody. Cherished member of her WIC family. A special friend of many others. Kitty came to the U.S. from Tokyo, Japan, 41 years ago and studied diligently to become an American citizen, which she achieved in 1968. A long time resident and active member of the Tacoma community, she worked for the WIC Program for over 25 years. She worked hard and played hard. She loved spending time with her grandchildren, gardening, and playing Bingo! All who knew and loved her will miss her happy smile, big-hearted generosity, and jovial personality. A memorial service will be held at the Mt. View Garden Chapel, Saturday, June 10th at 11 a.m., with a reception to follow. Newton Bruce Martin
Passed away June 6, 2000 in Portland, OR. A former Tacoma resident, Mr. Martin was a watchmaker at Weisfields Jewelers. Preceded in death by his wife Helen, survived by son Gary Martin and daughter Nancy Kartak, both of Oregon.

Donna Archer
The family of Donna Archer, who passed away June 6, 2000, is celebrating her 95 years of life. She has now rejoined her husband of 65 years, Rex Archer. Ervin John Molitor
Ervin John Molitor passed away June 6, 2000 at the age of 81 years. Ervin was born icon in St. Cloud, MN on March 3, 1919. He graduated from the University of Minnesota School of Agriculture and entered military service. He was retired from the US Air Force in 1967, he was then employed by the Sandia Corporation until retirement in 1990. He is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Judy Molitor, and his son Jerry. Also by his sister, Lucille Feeley of Stillwater, MN; and brothers, Gilbert Molitor of Windom, MN, Leroy Molitor of St. Paul, MN and Andrew Molitor of Rockville, MN. Funeral Mass will be held Saturday, June 10, 2000 at 9:00 a.m. at All Saints Catholic Church, 203 6th Ave. SW, Puyallup. Arrangements by Dryer Mortuary.

Hertha DeHaan, born icon Feb. 28, 1931 in Austria, died peacefully in her sleep on June 3, 2000. Survivors include her son, Tom DeHaan, Atlanta, GA; daughter Nancy (Bruce) Dickinson, Tacoma; grandchildren Tad and Jacob. Terri Lynn Jelinek (DeLaVergne)

A dear wife, mother, daughter, sister and friend went home to be with her Lord and Savior. Dr. Charles H. Denzler
Age 93, was born icon to Gustave and Cora Denzler in Jeffersonville, IN, on July 23, 1907, and passed away on December 6, 2000. Dr. Denzler is survived by a daughter, Frances (Milton) Gilmore of Bothell, WA and a son, John Denzler of Edgewood, WA; his grandchildren and their spouses are Charles (Pam) Divelbiss, Susan (Ron) Monroe, Steve (Carol) Morgan, Erick Denzler and John Denzler; his great-grandchildren are David and Justin Divelbiss, Kristoffer and Megan Monroe and many nieces and nephews. Charles is also survived by his special friend Tres Dassel. Dr. Denzler’s four elder sisters and two younger brothers preceded him in death. He was a member of Phoenix Lodge 154, the Puyallup Elks and was a member and past president of Sumner Rotary for 62 years. When asked by his granddaughter Megan, what he attributed his long and healthy life to, he told her “Do everything in moderation and it is important to have tolerance of other people.” Grandpa Chuck was always humble and never wanted to talk about his accomplishments, but his family would like you to know: He was remembered by his schoolmates as efficient and capable and that if only one could hold the stage together, it would be Chuck. He was the President of his Senior Class in 1925, was active in Chemistry Club, Debate Club, Honors English, Hi-Y, Latin Club, Glee Club and was the Editor-In-Chief of the school’s “Topic” staff. Charles was 8 1/2 years old when his father died. In order to make ends meet, his mother Cora became the housemother of the Masonic Orphanage. This allowed them to grow up in the nicest house in town and the orphans became their “family”. The palatial mansion had a ballroom, library and elegant living areas. At a young age, the family doctor instilled a dream to one day pursue a career in medicine. He began his quest to fulfill this dream when he graduated from Indiana University Medical School, Magna Cum Laude in 1931. After interning at Tacoma General Hospital, he practiced in Longview, Gig Harbor and in 1937 he established his long term practice in Sumner. He retired in 1972. Dr. Denzler was an old school physician, who told his grandchildren he loved every day he worked. He did everything in his practice from hernias to hemorrhoids, to surgery and deliveries. He can remember through the depression being paid in wood, eggs and an occasional ham. House calls were $5.00 and office calls were $2.00. When asked what the best day of his life was, he replied, “ the day I got married icon to Marie my wife of 53 years.” She preceded him in death in 1985. Memorial services will be held at Powers Funeral Home in Puyallup (320 W. Pioneer Ave.) on Thursday, December 14th at 3:00 PM. Dr. Denzler requests that memorials you wish to make may be made to the Sumner Rotary Scholarship Fund, the Puyallup Good Samaritan Hospital or Stafford Suites (15519 62nd St. E., Sumner, WA 98390).

Donald Marvin Fitzer
Born May 1, 1944 in Tacoma, WA; passed away December 6, 2000 in Alder, WA at the age of 56. Donald was preceded in death by his daughter, Christina Suzanne Fitzer, mother Ruth Elizabeth Fitzer and his brother, Dr. Ronald G. Fitzer, DDS. He was the loving son of Marvin Fitzer; brother of Tracy Fitzer and sister-in-law Robin, and their children Lindsay and Kristin; Shelley Fitzer-Surface and brother- in-law Tim, and their children Lauren and Suzanne. Don was a lifetime resident of the Elbe-Alder area. He was a third generation logger and contractor who was a perfectionist in his work. He enjoyed raising Christmas trees, hunting and traveling. A memorial service will be held Saturday, December 16 at 1:00 pm at the Eatonville Community Center. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Eatonville 404 Scholarship Fund, P.O. John J. Brennan Jack
Jack went to be with the Lord Thursday evening, December 7, 2000 just before midnight, his wife Ruth and children were at his side. He was 85 years old. Jack was born icon to William and Julia Brennan on April 21, 1915 in Omaha, Nebraska. He lived in Lewistown, Montana before moving with his family to Tacoma, Washington at the age of 10. He had three brothers, Bill, Edward and Tom. Jack graduated from Bellarmine High School in 1933. He was a carpenter and worked out of Carpenter’s Union Local 470. He and his wife, Ruth would have been married icon 60 years on Valentine’s Day. He is survived by Ruth and four children, Michael (Molly) Brennan, Tacoma, Timothy (Sue) Brennan, Seattle, Dennis (Margaret) Brennan, Tacoma and Colleen (Jerry) Rochefort, Tacoma; 12 grandchildren and 4 great- grandchildren. He attended Holy Cross Church and was a member of Tacoma Elks and Eagles. Jack was a kind and gentle person with a keen sense of humor who was very much loved by his wife and all his children. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday, December 12, 11 a.m. at Holy Cross Catholic Church, 5510 N. 44th St. (from N. Pearl, turn right on N. 44th). Our family gives special thanks to the nurses and caregivers of ManorCare Health Services, Tacoma, who gave good, compassionate care to Jack. Alicia Ann Riepe
June 12, 1961 - December 8, 2000
Alicia went peacefully into the arms of the Lord on Friday, December 8, 2000 after her courageous battle with Cancer. Alicia touched the hearts of everyone she knew with the kindness and sincerity she was known for. Those of us who are left to remember her are: her husband, David W. Riepe; daughter, Amy L. Riepe; father Gerald J. Henricksen and siblings, Scott J. Henricksen, Michele J. Medved, Robin G. Wilkerson and Todd G. Henricksen. Alicia has touched many people’s hearts and will greatly be missed. She is now at peace in Heaven with the Lord and her mother, JoAnn. The family would like to thank all of her friends for their kindness and support and especially the love given to her. Memorial services will be held at the Chambers Creek Chapel at the New Tacoma Cemetery icon on Tuesday, December 12th at 1:00 PM.

R. Paul Williams
March 13, 1919 - December 7, 2000
Paul Williams, retired minister and auto mechanic, died last Thursday evening, December 7, of cardiac arrest. He was 81. Born in Gladbrook, Iowa, he was always an avid reader and an excellent student. He skipped both the second grade and the sixth grade, and was graduated from high school at age 15. Like his father before him, he received a calling for the ministry of the Church of God of Abrahamic Faith, completing his degree in 1943 at Oregon Bible College in Oregon, Illinois. On June 16, 1943, he married icon his college sweetheart, Hazel Burk of Tacoma. With deep religious convictions about the sanctity of life, he was a conscientious objector during World War II, performing alternative service as a minister in Stanhope, Iowa. In 1949 he moved to Tacoma with his young family to be near his wife's parents. He made a living as an auto mechanic at Winthrop Motor Company in Tacoma from 1949 to 1962, when his family returned to Stanhope, Iowa, so he could resume his ministry. After one year, they returned to Tacoma, where he resumed working for Winthrop Motor Company and later worked for Steven Motor Company. He retired in 1984 after 35 years of servicing Chrysler products. In retirement, he enjoyed reading, crossword puzzles, woodworking, classical music, swimming, making awful puns, and sightseeing in the great Northwest. He attended Trinity Methodist Church, where he also taught adult Bible study. He was preceded in death by his infant son Mark and his brother Ward. He is survived by his beloved wife Hazel. His surviving siblings are Wilbur Williams of Florida; Walt Williams of Ocean Shores, Washington; Joseph Williams of Tacoma; Ralph Williams of Tacoma; Wilma Bramall of Bremerton, Washington; Cleo Anderson of Rockford, Illinois; Patricia Thomason of Red Bluff, California; and Larry Williams of Knoxville,Tennessee. His surviving children are Rachel Wade (husband Jim Wade) of Columbia, Maryland; Mary Brau (husband Jim Brau) of Eugene, Oregon; Michael Williams (wife Jeanne) of Seattle; Chris Hughes (husband Tom Hughes) of Seattle; Brian Williams (wife Sandy) of Tacoma; Margie Williams (husband Mark Anderson) of Richmond, California; and Delia Batalao, of Tacoma. His grandchildren are Beth and Don Wade; Benjamin Brau (wife Molly Moss) and Daniel Brau; Paul and David Williams; Tim and Dave Hughes; Peter, Jared, and Nathan Williams; and Mark, Michael, and Matthew Bangcaya. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, December 12 at 10:00 a.m. at Trinity United Methodist Church. Arrangements by Tacoma Funeral Home. Robert Eugene Anderson
Robert Eugene Anderson, 79, born icon Feb. 1, 1921. Went home to be with our Lord on Dec. 8, 2000. Robert proudly served in the Air Force during WWII. He was also an active member of the Knights of Columbus. Robert worked for Southern Union Gas Company and was a volunteer for the Fire Dept. in Artesia, NM. He will be greatly missed by his loving wife, Louise, 5 sons: Robert, Carl, Fred, Richard, Walter; 3 daughters: JoAnna Porter, Theresa Stewart and Katherine Schuler; 23 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. A recitation of the Rosary will be held 7:00 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 11, 2000 at Powers Funeral Home, 320 W. Pioneer Ave., Puyallup. Funeral Mass will be held 10:30 a.m. at Our Lady Queen of Heaven, Spanaway, WA. Interment icon to follow at the Tahoma National Cemetery, Kent.
