Victoria Catherine Oakes
7/7/1917 - 6/28/2006

Victoria Kink Oakes, age 88 born July 7, 1917 in Bellingham, WA to
Paul and Mary Kink. She graduated from
Fairhaven High and later death by husband
Stuart in 1981. Victoria is survived by
daughters Paula (husband Dennis)
Lingenfelter of Utah and Marianne
(husband James) Ott of Port Hadlock,
WA, brother Mitch Kink of Bellingham, 9
grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren,
3 great-great grandchildren and many
nieces and nephews.
Memorials may be made to Hospice of
Whatcom County. A Celebration of
Vickie’s Life will be held at Westford
Funeral Home on Monday, July 3 at 11 AM
followed by a reception across the
street at Westford’s Broadway Hall,
1300 Broadway. Cemetery.

Max L. Hunt
4/21/1917 - 4/29/2006

Max L. Hunt, age 89 born April 21, 1917 in Henry, IL to
Lawrence and Anna Hunt. Max earned his
Bachelor’s Degree from the University
of Illinois and his Master’s Degree in
Business Administration from the
University of Chicago. He served in the
U.S. Army from 1941-1945. Max met and
married for 64 years. Max was
the Hospital Administrator at Yakima
Valley Memorial Hospital for 26 years,
and continued his involvement
nationally working for the Joint
Commission on Hospital Accreditation
for another 7 years. He was active in
Rotary Club, Boy Scouts, Elks Club,
YMCA and the Presbyterian Church. He
served on a number of boards including
Yakima Valley Community College and
United Way. He really enjoyed outdoor
activities including fishing,
waterskiing and camping. Max was well-
liked by many and was often described
as “one of the nicest guys I know.”
Max was able to balance his
professional and family life and focus
on what was most important.
He is preceded in passed away
Aug. 12, 2006. Myrtle was both passed away in what is now Columbia
Place in Bellingham. She was generous,
positive, and was always “on the go.”
She often listened to gospel music and
attended Church of the Assumption.
Myrtle was fond of children and pets
and enjoyed volunteering at care homes
and the Senior Activity Center.
Myrtle is survived by her extended
family including sister Rosie Robey and
her children Michael Robey, Jr. and
Harold Larrabee, niece Libby Read and
her children Melody, Faith, Mary and
Carl, cousin Frank Cain, beloved friend
Steve Woodrich, special caregivers at
Columbia Place including her dearest
Dorothy Turner and numerous other
friends and relatives. She was preceded
in born November 24,
1918 in Lulu Island, Richmond, B.C. to
Morgan & Lillian Thomas, the last of 16
children.
Lillian was a wife, grandmother,
homemaker and cook. She was known as
loving, caring and happy and always
took care of the family. She loved to
garden and travel to Reno and Las
Vegas.
Lillian was preceded in Cemetery on Friday, May 26
at 4 PM.

Lauramae Rehder
6/6/1920 - 6/13/2006

Lauramae Rehder, age 86 of Bellingham,
WA born June 6, 1920 in Rapid City, SD, to
Leonard and Maude (Earl) Wandling.
Lauramae was raised in Rapid City where
she graduated from High School and
death by her
husband Walter in March of 2006. She is
survived by sons Roger Rehder of
Portales, N.M. and Robert Rehder of
Birch Bay; five grandchildren; ten
great-grandchildren; and many other
friends and relatives.
Memorials may be made to American Heart
Assn., 4414 Woodland Park Ave. N.,
Seattle, WA 98103 or Trinity Lutheran
Church, 119 Texas St., Bellingham, WA
98225.
Visitation will be held at Westford
Funeral Home on Monday, June 19 from 12
Noon until the 2:00 P.M. Celebration of
Lauramae’s Life. Cemetery. Pastor Doug
Iben will be officiating.
