Kenna Louise Thomas
6/17/1945 - 8/29/2008

Our beloved sister, mother,
grandmother, friend, and mentor Kenna
Louise Thomas graduated with honors to
Heaven, born June 17, 1945 in
Bremerton, WA to Kenneth & Rowena
Thomas. She grew up in Yakima and
graduated from Central Washington
University. Kenna’s gift of singing
was apparent at a very early age. She
enjoyed singing at various occastions
including weddings and school events.
As an adult, she continued singing
groups. A Whatcom County resident
since 1978, Kenna collected a wide
variety of friends and companions. She
found great happiness in her position
at North Sound Family Medicine. She
loved her coworkers and “the docs,” as
well as the work she did.
Kenna lived life with an abiding sense
of gratitude. Some of the many things
that brought her happiness were
spending time with her beloved
grandchildren, watching Mariners games
and bull-riding events, creating
beautiful cards and gifts for friends,
going to jazz and blues concerts with
her sister, creating delicious meals,
going to family parties at the
Kuehnels, and sharing the joys and
trials of life with her treasured
daughter Kimberly.
Kenna had a gift for warming the hearts
of everyone she met, no matter what the
circumstances. A friend of Bill W’s
for 16 1/2 years, she touched the lives
of many people. Kenna was always there
to reach out a hand to help someone in
need, and her recovery will live on in
the hearts of those she leaves behind.
She faced her final challenge with
dignity, grace, and an incredible
strength of spirit, never complaining
to the last. Kenna will be deeply
missed. We are honored to have been in
her life, and thankful for her presence
in ours. Breathe easy now, beloved one.
