Paulson, Elizabeth Ida
February 18, 1920 - June 4, 2002
BELOIT - Elizabeth I. Paulson, age 82, of Beloit, died unexpectedly Tues., June 4, 2002, in Beloit Memorial Hospital. Elizabeth was born in Spring Valley Township Feb. 8, 1920, the daughter of Jay E. and Illa Mae (Taylor) Cleveland. She attended Orfordville High School. She married Victor Paulson Aug. 26, 1941 in Luther Valley Parsonage. A Beloit and Orfordville resident all her life, she was a member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church. She had worked at the Thrift Center, the Royal Restaurant and McNeany's Dept. Store. She was a Brownie troop leader.
She is survived by her loving husband of 60 years, Victor; a son, Marvin (Cheryl) Paulson of Cherokee Village, AR; 2 daughters, Mary Ann Donovan and Ida Mae Donovan, both of Beloit; grandchildren: Robin (Randy) Isley, Mark (Karen) Paulson, Robert Paulson, Shelly (Larry) Miller, Susanne (Derrick) Larson, Sherry Donovan, Jeffrey Donovan, Christopher Donovan and Lisa Engebretson; 12 great-grandchildren; a sister, Eleanor Burke of Janesville; nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and a grandson, Johnathan Donovan.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. on Fri., June 7, 2002, in the SCHOENFELD FUNERAL HOME, 1000 Inman Parkway, Beloit, with the Rev. Eugene Hanson officiating. Burial will be in Maple Grove cemetery, Orfordville. Visitation will be on Friday from 12 noon until the time of services at the funeral home. A memorial fund is being established.

Frank J. Krajco
Born in Madison, WI on Feb. 14, 1920
Died Jan. 24, 2004 and resided in Janesville, WI.

JANESVILLE - Frank J. Krajco, age 83, of 1050 Beloit Ave. died Saturday, Jan 24, 2004 at home. He was born on February 14, 1920 in Madison, WI and was the son of Louis and Anna (Pechan) Krajco. A Janesville resident since 1953, he married Adeline Cervenka on June 27, 1951 in Hillsboro, WI. She died on March 25, 1992. Frank was employed at GMAD for 30 years, retiring in 1987. He was a member and daily communicant of St. John Vianney Catholic Church.
Frank is survived by 2 daughters; Kathy Krajco and Terese Krajco both of Janesville; a brother, Louis (Mary Ann) Krajco of Hillsboro, WI; a sister, Ann Krajco of Elroy, WI; many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife and a daughter Angela, who died on Oct. 5, 1965 and a sister, Margaret Leise.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, Jan 28, 2004 at St. John Vianney Catholic Church, with Fr. Mike Doro officiating. Interment will be in Mt. Olivet cemetery. Friends may call on Tuesday from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the SCHNEIDER FUNERAL HOME, where there will be a Scripture Service at 6:00 p.m. Tuesday.

Quaerna, Oscar J. "Bo"
April 30, 1940 - Oct. 15, 2001
JANESVILLE - Oscar J. "Bo" Quaerna, age 61, 1314 Purvis Ave., Janesville, died at University Hospital, Madison on Mon., Oct. 15, 2001. "Bo" was born on April 30, 1940, the son of Edward and Frances (Hess) Quaerna. He served in the U.S. Marine Corp. from 1957 to 1960. He married Sharon Riley in 1960 and later was married to Jackie Carhart on Aug. 3, 1974. He was employed by General Motors for 30 years and also operated Quaerna's Tavern for many years.
Surviving are his wife, Jackie Quaerna; 9 children: Carrie (Aaron) Nottingham of Janesville, Jerold (Ann) Quaerna of Lake Geneva, Joseph (Amy) Quaerna, Cottage Grove, Michael Quaerna, Vicki (Terry) Michael, Linda (Keith) Cantwell, Terri (Brian) Lambert, Brian Carhart, Patty (William) Carhart, all of Janesville; 20 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; his mother, Frances "Toddy" Quaerna of Janesville; 4 brothers: Arnold Quaerna of Baltimore, MD, Edward (Connie) Quaerna, James Quaerna, Daniel (Anne) Quaerna, all of Janesville; 3 sisters: Jeanne (James) Morrison, Kathleen (James) Flynn, both of Janesville, Carole (Scott) Hatfield of Walworth; numerous nieces and nephews. "Bo" was preceded in death by his father, Edward Quaerna and a brother, Donald.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Thurs., Oct. 18, 2001, at HENKE-CLARSON FUNERAL HOME, 1010 N. Wright Rd., Janesville with Fr. Del Klink of St. William Catholic Church officiating. Entombment will be in Mt. Olivet Mausoleum with military rites by Kienow-Hilt VFW Post 1621. Visitation will be from 5 until 8 p.m. Wednesday at HENKE-CLARSON FUNERAL HOME.

JANESVILLE - Veronica Ryan, age 78 of 2022 Williamsburg Pl., died Thursday, Jan. 30, 2003 at Mercy Manor Transition Center. She was born in Janesville on Aug. 2, 1924, the daughter of James and Bridget (Flood) McGinty. She was a 1943 Janesville High School graduate and has been a lifelong Janesville resident. Veronica married Charles C. Ryan on Jan. 28, 1961 at St. Patrick's Catholic Church; he preceded her in death on May 19, 1993. She was employed by Parker Pen for 18 years before her marriage. She was a member of St. William Catholic Church, the Catholic Women's Club, Janesville Little Theater and Blackhawk Homemakers.
She is survived by her 3 beloved daughters and their husbands: Colleen (Bruce) Rau, Kathleen (Kelly) McCarthy and Rosemary (Scott) Gerarden all of Janesville; 7 granddaughters that were the light of her life: Laura, Rachael and Julie Rau, Megan and Leann McCarthy, Sarah and Ashley Gerarden; best friend, Margaret Fleming; 3 special sisters-in-law: Alice, Mary and Kathleen; brother-in-law, Raymond; and many close and dear friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.
A Private Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday. Interment will be in Mt. Olivet cemetery. Friends may call on Sunday from 2:00 to 6:00 p.m. at SCHNEIDER FUNERAL HOME. Memorials preferred to the American Heart Assoc. or the American Kidney Foundation.
Veronica was a wonderful woman, mother and friend.
She will be sadly missed . May she rest in peace.

Randolph, Wilma Molissa
Dec. 30, 1911 - Oct. 19, 2001
JANESVILLE - Wilma Molissa Randolph, age 89, died peacefully at 1 p.m., Fri., Oct. 19, 2001 of congenital heart failure. Her deterioration from dementia of the Alzheimer's type became apparent in the early 1990s, and she became a resident of Rock Haven Nursing home on Nov. 10, 1998 after having been at Woven Hearts a few years before that. Her former residence was at 624 N. Oakhill Avenue. She was born on Dec. 30, 1911, in Bradford, TN, the daughter of Dennis Verton Hedgecock and Mary Hunter Hedgecock. Her husband was Fred Randolph, who was employed for many years by the City of Janesville as a very well-liked bus driver. Wilma's young life and schooling was in Bradford, TN and attended Humes H.S. there. She moved to Janesville and attended the old Janesville H.S. (now the Armory). She lacked one semester of graduating. She became active with the Salvation Army here and played the trumpet with the corps. She married Fred Randolph on Jan. 8, 1934, in Rockford, IL.
Her employment with the Parker Pen Company began in 1945 when it was located on Court St, later at Arrow Park. She retired in 1976 having worked in the shipping department for many years. After her retirement, she began studies at BlackHawk Technical College receiving her GED in 1978 at the age of 67. She loved children and became a "nannie" for several years. Gardening and southern cooking were her hobbies, being excellent in both.
She is survived by her only child, Freda Treder, well-known for her inspirational programs in the area; grandsons: Clark (Carole) Treder of Basalt, CO, Bruce (Jennifer) Treder of Athens, WI and Todd Treder, an employee at Sentry Food Store who resides at his home in Janesville. She was preceded in death by her husband, Fred, who died on April 7, 1975; her parents; 3 brothers: Hunter ("Red"), Robert and Hollis; beloved son-in-law, Lewis Wayne Treder on (7-30-90); a much loved grandson, Mitch Treder (on 11-30-96).
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Sat., Oct. 27, 2001, at FIRST BAPTIST CHURCH, with the Rev. James Harkness officiating. Visitation will be held at the church on Saturday from 10 a.m. until the time of services. Burial will be in Oak Hill cemetery. Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church or the Salvation Army. The family is being assisted by Henke-Clarson Funeral Home, Janesville.

Edward George Preuss

Died Jan. 17, 2004 and resided in Janesville, WI.

JANESVILLE - Edward George Preuss, age 71, of 1112 W. Burbank Ave., died Sat., Jan. 17, 2004, surrounded by his family at Mercy Hospital. He was born in Janesville on April 17, 1932, the son of George and Catherine (Commons) Preuss. He graduated from Janesville High School and had been a Janesville resident all of his life. Edward worked for various construction companies, retiring in 1992, and was a member of the Loyal Order of Moose.
He is survived by his 5 children: Debbie (Michael) Ganzer of Minnesota, Vicki (Gary) Bunkelman of Chippewa Falls, WI, Dean Preuss of Minneapolis, MN, Danny Preuss and Chris Preuss both of Janesville; 8 grandchildren; step-daughter, Tammie Nehls of Milton; and 1 sister, Betty (Henry) Thurner of Janesville. He was preceded in death by his parents.
No Services will be held. Interment will be in Oak Hill cemetery. SCHNEIDER FUNERAL HOME is assisting the family.

Richter, Nigel
Aug. 12, 1955 - Oct. 31, 2001
EDGERTON - Nigel Richter, age 46, passed away on Wed., Oct. 31, 2001, in Trinidad, CO. He was born on Aug. 12, 1955 in Elmhurst, IL, the son of Patricia (Charles) and Walter Richter. Nigel married Kim Halpin in Fox Lake, IL.
Survivors include his wife, Kim of Edgerton; 4 children: Hayley, Nigel, Kelley and Karley; his parents, Patricia (Paul) Carlon of Deerfield, IL and Walter Richter of Vero Beach, FL; twin sister, Diane (Ray) Manthorpe of N. Miami Beach, FL; 4 brothers: Paul (Diane) of Trinidad, CO, Kurt of Waukegan, IL, Craig (Ellen) of Eugene, OR, and Karl (Carol) Carlon of Beach Pk, IL. He is preceded in death by a stepbrother, Craig Bogin; a stepsister, Darlene Bogin.
Funeral services will be held on Sat., Nov. 10, 2001 at 11 a.m. at the FULTON CHURCH with Pastor Larry MacKenzie officiating. Burial will be in the Fulton cemetery. Friends may call Saturday from 10 until 11 a.m. at the FULTON CHURCH. The Albrecht Funeral Home, Edgerton, is assisting the family. The family requests in lieu of other expressions of sympathy, memorials may be made to a Bank One Savings Fund being set up for the Richter children's higher education. Checks should be made out to Sally Conway (sister of Nigel) and designated to Richter Children's Ed. Fund.

Ritchie, C. Alene (Fisher)
June 29, 1912 - Oct. 22, 2001
JANESVILLE - Alene Ritchie, age 89, of 1700 S. River Road, passed away on Oct. 22, 2001 at Mercy Manor. Alene was born on June 29, 1912, in Des Moines, IA, the daughter of Clyde and Ina (Coon) Fisher. She married John Frederick "Fred" Ritchie on June 30, 1933, in Waterloo, IA. They moved to Wisconsin in 1943, first to Milton, then to Janesville. Alene worked for Milton College in the admissions office until her retirement in 1974. She was a member of the Janesville Women's Club for many years. Alene also enjoyed playing bridge with her friends. Her husband predeceased her on Nov. 28, 1996.
Alene is survived by 2 sons, Jack (Gail) of Washington, MI, Mitchell of Sacramento, CA; 3 grandchildren: Randal (Nisha), Erik (Raquel) and Star Ritchie; 2 great-granddaughters, Asha and Meena; a sister, Mary (William) Astor of Greene, IA; a sister-in-law, Mable von Falkenstein of Milton, WI; several cousins, nieces and nephews. Alene was preceded in death by her husband, parents, stepfather and 2 brothers.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m., Sat., Oct. 27, 2001, at the CEDAR CREST CHAPEL, 1700 S. River Road, Janesville, with Rev. Glenn Skatrud officiating. Memorials may be sent to the American Cancer Society or the American Lung Society. Albrecht Funeral Home, Milton, is assisting the family.

Hay, Mrs. Helen
December 5, 1906 - May 30, 2002
ELKHORN - Mrs. Helen Hay, age 95, of Elkhorn, died Thurs., May 30, 2002, at Lakeland Medical Center. She was born on Dec. 5, 1906 in Chicago, IL. Helen married Irving Hay in Chicago on May 24, 1954. He died on Jan. 22, 1994. Mrs. Hay was a registered nurse, working for over 38 years with the Cook County Hospital of Chicago. She was a member of Millard Community Church of Millard, WI.
She is survived by a stepgrandson, Michael (Pam) Haas of New Carlisle, IN. She was preceded in death by her husband and a daughter.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Sun., June 2, 2002, at HAASE-DERRICK-LOCKWOOD FUNERAL HOME, 730 N. Wisconsin St., Elkhorn, with Rev. Dr. Wallace Christen officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Pleasant cemetery at Tibbets, WI. Friends may call at the funeral home on Sunday from 1:30 until time of services. Memorials may be made to Millard Community Church. Robert G. Conroy

JANESVILLE - Robert G. Conroy, age 69, of 4206 Hearthstone Dr., died on Wednesday, April 26, 2006, at home surrounded by his family. He was born in Janesville on May 7, 1936, the son of Raymond and Laura (Martsolf) Conroy. He attended Janesville High School and served in the US Navy from 1954 to 1958 on the USS Frontier and enjoyed his time on the P.T. Boats. Robert had been a Janesville resident most all of his life and had lived in Adams Friendship from 1999 to 2002. He married Susanne Woerth on Oct. 17, 1959, at St. John Lutheran Church, Edgerton. He had been employed by Highway Trailer, Edgerton for 13 years and General Motors for 27 years retiring in 1998. He was a member of the UAW Local 95 and the Loyal Order of Moose. He enjoyed spending time in Las Vegas, casinos in Wisconsin, hunting and walleye fishing.
He is survived by his wife, Susanne of Janesville; 4 children: Pamela (Russ Sagear) Conroy of Janesville, Mark Conroy of Madison, Robert R. (Mary) Conroy of Janesville and Deanna (Janelle Wintlend) Conroy of Denver, CO; 5 grandchildren: Crystal, Ashley, Adam, Scott and Kyle; sister-in-law, Edna Conroy of Janesville; aunt, Mildred (James) Munro of Janesville; many cousins, nieces and nephews; and his dog, Patches. He was preceded in death by his parents; 2 brothers, Richard and Dale Conroy; and sister-in-law, Bonnie Conroy.
A Funeral Service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, April 29, 2006, at SCHNEIDER APFEL SCHNEIDER & SCHNEIDER FUNERAL HOME with Rev. Joan Smoke officiating. Interment will be in Milton Lawns Memorial Park. Friends may call on Friday from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at SCHNEIDER APFEL SCHNEIDER & SCHNEIDER FUNERAL HOME.
