Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 8, at 11 a.m. at First Lutheran Church in Westboro with Rev. Jerome Godson officiating. Burial will take place at Northside Cemetery in Westboro. Visitation will be held Saturday morning at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of service. The Dallmann-Kniewel Funeral Homes of Medford and Rib Lake are assisting the family with arrangements.

Thomas John Polacek, 84, Rib Lake, died Thursday, May 30 at Rib Lake Health Care Center. Funeral services were held Monday, June 3, at St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church in Rib Lake, with Rev. Roger Sloan officiating. Burial took place at Lakeview Cemetery, Rib Lake. Pallbearers and honorary pallbearers were his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Dallmann-Kniewel Funeral Home in Rib Lake assisted the family with arrangements.

Shirley Ruth Judnic, 62, of Rib Lake, died Wednesday, May 29, at Memorial Health Center in Medford. Funeral services were held Saturday, June 1, at St. Peter Evangelical Lutheran Church in the Town of Greenwood with Rev. Carl Busse officiating. Burial took place at St. Peter Evangelical Lutheran Church Cemetery. Pallbearers were Randy and Ryan Dunkel and Raymon, Ronni, Donnie, Darek, James, and Jason Judnic. Honorary pallbearers were Jake and Jeffrey Borman, Jerry and Nathan Judnic, Heather Peterson, and Darek and Bryan Becker. Leon G. Schwarz, 69, of Dorchester died Thursday, July 25 at his home. Funeral services were Saturday, July 27 at Hemer Funeral Home in Medford with Deacon Joe Stefancin officiating. Burial took place at Holy Rosary Catholic Cemetery in Medford with graveside military rites by the Medford VFW. Pallbearers were Bruce, Brian, Lyle, and Glen Schwarz; and Joe and Phil Knepper.

Sophie "Julia" M. Kroll, 86, of Rib Lake died Tuesday, July 30 at Memorial Nursing and Rehab Center. Funeral services will be Saturday, Aug. 3 at 10:30 a.m. at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Rib Lake, with Rev. John Long and Deacon Michael Cullen officiating. Burial will be at Lakeview Cemetery. Pallbearers are Carrie and Kim Komarek, Connie Hallstrand, Sue Pearson, Jan Ulrich, Jill Tucker, and Lisa Wood. Honorary pallbearer is Janine Probst.

Bernice Edith Irene Hoffmann, 87, of Abbotsford died on Wednesday, July 24 at the Continental Manor Nursing Home in Abbotsford. Funeral services were Saturday, July 27 at St. John's Lutheran Church in Withee with Rev. Tom Myhre officiating.

Ella Alexander

Ella A. Alexander, 96, of Medford died Tuesday, July 30 at Memorial Nursing and Rehab Center. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, Aug. 2 at Hemer Funeral Home in Medford, with Rev. James Briney officiating. Burial will be at Medford Evergreen Cemetery II. Pallbearers are Mark, Dan and Kurt Alexander; Steve Dashek; and Bob Beck. Visitation will be at Hemer Funeral Home from 9 a.m. until time of services on Friday, Aug. 2.

Stanley Vernon Czarnezki, 78, of Racine died Wednesday, July 17 at St. Mary's Hospital in Racine. Funeral services were Monday, July 22 at St. John's Catholic Church, in South Milwaukee. The body was donated to Medical Science.

Fred Emstrom
(1925-2002)
Fred G. Emstrom, 76, of Medford died Monday, July 29 at St. Joseph's Hospital Emergency Room in Marshfield. Funeral services were Thursday, Aug. 1 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Whittlesey, with Rev. Randal Jeppesen officiating. Burial was at Perkinstown Community Cemetery in Perkinstown. Pallbearers were Bob Schmeiser, Ronald Kasparek, Joe Kleutsch, Rick Pask, and Ned and Ted Fischer. Hemer Funeral Service of Medford assisted the family with arrangements.

Margaret Peche
(1917-2002)
She was born July 21, 1917 in Little Falls, Minn., to Axel and Martha Johnson who had immigrated from Sweden in 1902. She was their seventh child. They had moved to Medford in later years and Margaret attended the Little White school in the Town of Little Black. It was a 2 mile walk and she was unable to go to high school because that was 7 miles. No buses those days. She helped her folks on the farm and then she went to Chicago, Ill., and found employment. Later she returned to Medford and married Edwin Peche. They had two sons, Richard and Billie. After they were grown and Edwin deceased she went to work at Marathon Cheese until she retired. She passed away on April 24, 2002 at age 84. Her two sons and two sisters Esther (Norman) Miller and Hilda Larson survive. Funeral services were on April 26 at Immanuel Lutheran Church, internment in Evergreen Cemetery No. 2.

Martha E. Ziehlke

Former Medford resident Martha E. Ziehlke, 103, Wausau, died Tuesday, September 24, at Mount View Care Center in Wausau. Funeral services will be held on Friday, Sept. 27, at 11 a.m. at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Medford, with Rev. Dennis Meulemans officiating. Burial will be in Holy Rosary Catholic Cemetery in Medford. Visitation will be at Holy Rosary Catholic Church from 10 a.m. until the time of the service on Friday. Hemer Funeral Service of Medford assisted the family with arrangements.

Genevieve Mary Siok, 90, Thorp, died Friday, Sept. 20, at Luther Hospital in Eau Claire. Funeral services were Monday, Sept. 23, at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church in Lublin, with Rev.
