William R. Mace
MINERAL WELLS - William Robert "Bill" Mace, 73, of Mineral Wells passed away May 31, 2003, at his residence.
He was born in Akron, Ohio, a son of the late Freer R. and Pearl McPeek Mace. He was retired from Kardex, coached little league baseball and enjoyed following his grandchildren in various sporting events. He was a Korean War veteran, serving in the U.S. Navy and the U.S. Air Force.

S. Lisa Metz
FREMONT, Ind. - S. Lisa Starcher Metz, 42, of Fremont, Ind., formerly of Parkersburg, died May 28, 2003, in Fremont.
She was born in Parkersburg and was the daughter of Sondra Lee Lemley Mills of Parkersburg and the late Harry Virgil Mills. She had worked for GE and DuPont in Parkersburg and for the Health Equipment and American Legion in Fremont. She was a member of the Moose Lodge, American Legion in Fremont and Parkersburg and the Eagles in Parkersburg. She was a member of the Larkmead Faith Tabernacle.

Shirley Robertson
PENNSBORO - Shirley Robertson, 66, of Route 2, Pennsboro departed this life Sunday, June 1, 2003, at the family residence.
Mrs. Robertson was born Sept. 20, 1936, in Pennsboro. She had been employed by the Atlantic Telephone and Telegraph Co. in Pennsboro as a switchboard operator prior to her retirement. She was a graduate of Pennsboro High School with the Class of 1954 and, with her husband, helped maintain a 300-acre farm on W.Va. 74 North near Mountain, W.Va.

Nina Rockhold
HOCKINGPORT, Ohio - Nina Rockhold, 90, of Hockingport died Saturday, May 31, 2003, at St. Joseph's Hospital in Parkersburg.
She was born Sept. 19, 1912, a daughter of the late James and Minnie Buchanan Randolph. She was a homemaker and a member of the Hockingport United Methodist Church.

Daniel K. Tolliver
SPENCER - Daniel K. Tolliver, 83, of Spencer died Saturday, May 31, 2003.
Survivors include seven sons, Robert, Kenneth, Melvin, Delbert, John, Marvin and Claude; three daughters, Loretta McCormick, Edith Tolliver and Rosetta Cottrell; a half-sister and brother; 19 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.
Services will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday at John H. Taylor Funeral Home, Spencer. Burial with military rites will be in Spencer Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Joseph J. Ayoob
CLARKSBURG - Joseph J. Ayoob, 73, of 317 Capitol St., Clarksburg died at 8:30 p.m. Friday evening, May 30, 2003, at his residence under the care of Hospice.
He was born April 5, 1930, at St. Mary's Hospital in Clarksburg, a son of the late Nemar Ayoob and Mary Herrick Ayoob. He worked at Eagle Convec Glass Co. for 46 years and served as president of their local union. He was a lifetime member of the Knights of Columbus and was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps stationed in Cuba. He was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church and was a graduate of R-W High School.

Marguerite Burdette
COOLVILLE - On Saturday, May 31, 2003, we lost the best wife, mother and mother-in-law in the world when Marguerite Virginia Clark Burdette, 80, went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Connie S. Dowell
CLEVELAND, Ohio - Connie Sue Dowell, 45, of Cleveland, Ohio, died May 28, 2003, in Cleveland.
Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Tuesday at Stump Funeral Home, Grantsville. Interment will be in the Hunt Cemetery at Big Bend. Friends may call from 6-9 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Richard R. Hart
WILLIAMSTOWN - Richard R. Hart, 81, of Caroline Avenue, WIlliamstown died at 1:30 a.m. Saturday, May 31, 2003, at the Arbors in Marietta.
He was born Feb. 27, 1923, in Marietta, a son of the late Raymond Hart and the late Katherine Russler Hart. He was a graduate of Marietta High School with the Class of 1940 and had served in the U.S. Army in the infantry as a drill instructor from 1942-1945. He had been trained as an automobile mechanic and had been employed at the Summers Automobile Agency. He had later been employed at Union Carbide - later Elkem - for 32 years until his retirement in 1984. He enjoyed hunting and working with stained glass. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Williamstown.

Rheta J. Lynch
PALESTINE - Rheta J. Lynch, 69, of Palestine passed away Friday evening at Camden-Clark Memorial Hospital, Parkersburg.
She was born in Parkersburg, the daughter of the late Roscoe and Eula Lockhart Fore Boggs Sims. She attended Calvary Temple Church, Parkersburg.

Mary E. Morton
WALLBACK, W.Va. - Mary E. Morton, 76, of Wallback, W.Va., died May 28, 2003.
Survivors include five daughters, June Bucher, Nancy Rogers, Sharon Gorog, Judy Reece and Penny Weber; two sons, David Rogers and Steve Vandall; 21 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.

Jean S. Pennington
PARKERSBURG - Jean Smith Pennington, 67, of Parkersburg died May 29, 2003, at Ruby Memorial Hospital, Morgantown, W.Va.
She was born in Wood County, a daughter of the late Joseph Bermont Smith and Dorma Gladys Bell Smith. She was a retired nurse employed by South Miami Hospital.

Donnie Whitehair
He is survived by one son, David Whitehair of Dover, Del.; two daughters, Donna Parson and her husband Eddie of Magnolia, Del., and Sandy Golt and her friend Charles Butch Schelts of Viola, Del.; three sisters, Mildred Jones of Florida and Ruth Lane and Cubee Taylor of Tennessee; and seven grandchildren, Eddie and Sara Parson, Irvin, Matthew and Charles Golt and David and Jacob Whitehair.

Thomas D. Wilcox
WASHINGTON, W.Va. - Thomas Don Wilcox, 63, of Washington, W.Va., died May 31, 2003, at Camden-Clark Memorial Hospital.
He was born in Wood County, a son of the late Clem D. and Iva Pearl Miller Wilcox. He was retired from Walker Systems as a project manager. He was a member of the Pettyville United Methodist Church and was an avid hunter and fisherman, loving the outdoors, his family and friends.

James McKibben
James Carl McKibben, 89, of Washington, W.Va., died Thursday, May 29, 2003, at his residence.
He was born in Wood County, a son of the late James Harrison and Anna Mahr McKibben.

Madis N. Mollohan
COOLVILLE - Madis N. Mollohan, 84, of Coolville died Thursday, May 29, 2003, at her residence.
She was born March 25, 1919, in Webster Springs, W.Va., a daughter of the late Dr. Edward and Eudora Bledsoe Hamrick.

Evelyn Hart Nichols
ST. MARYS - Evelyn Hart Nichols, 84, of Route 1, St. Marys died May 29, 2003, at the Arbors of Marietta.
She was born June 23, 1918, at Cloverdale, Pleasants County, a daughter of the late Christopher Columbus and Margie Oliver Hart. She was a 1938 graduate of St. Marys High School. She was a member of the Cloverdale Church of Christ, and was a homemaker. She enjoyed sewing, gardening, hummingbirds and being a partner with her husband in building houses and pumping the oil and gas wells.

Ray Porter
FLY, Ohio - Ray Porter, 78, of Fly, Ohio, died May 29, 2003, in New Martinsville.
He is survived by son, Steve Porter of Fly; sister, Geraldine Cornell of Williamstown; nephew, Jeffery Porter of Marietta; niece, Judy Lewis of Williamstown; and sister-in-law, Nellie Porter of Fly.
