Garland Fridley Garland "Mace" Fridley, 67, of Charleston died Wednesday, Aug. 9, 2000, at home after a long illness. He was a retired dispatcher from Yellow Cab and C&H Taxi Co. with more than 40 years of service. He was preceded in death by wife, Joann C. Fridley.
Surviving: daughter, Patty Carter of Charleston; sons, Gary, Bob and Randy of Charleston; sisters, Wanda Estep of Cleveland, Ohio, Eloise Ray of Charleston; brother, Vernon of Cleveland; nine grandchildren; one great-grandson. Lena H. Hall WESTON -- Lena H. Hall, 78, of Weston died Wednesday, Aug. 9, 2000, at the home of her daughter, Alice Jean Fisher of Weston, after a long illness. She was a homemaker and a member of Freemans Creek Baptist Church, Fremansburg Community Club and Eastern Star Chapter 40, Weston. Also surviving: daughter, Sara Jane Gilkerson of Scott Depot; son, Robert D. of Waynesburg, Pa.; brother, Ralph Hitt of Moorefield; five granddaughters; one great-grandchild. Beulah A. Hammond POCA -- Beulah A. Hammond, 91, of Poca, formerly of Nitro, died Wednesday, Aug. 9, 2000, in Riverside Nursing Center, St. Albans, after a long illness. She was a member of Otterbein United Methodist Church and a former cook at the rubber plant.
Surviving: several nieces and nephews. Service will be 11 a.m. Friday at Tyler Mountain Memory Gardens Mausoleum, Cross Lanes, with the Rev. Larry Walker officiating. Gatens Funeral Home, Poca, is in charge of arrangements.

Lyle J. Harless GRIFFITHSVILLE -- Lyle J. Harless, 47, of Griffithsville, Lincoln County, died Tuesday, Aug. 8, 2000, in Thomas Memorial Hospital after a short illness. He was a graduate of Duval High School, Griffithsville, and a lifelong resident of Lincoln County.

Wilma J. Harris WASHINGTON, D.C. -- Wilma J. Walthall Harris, 87, of Washington died Tuesday, Aug. 8, 2000, in DC General Hospital. She was a native of Clayton, Summers County, W.Va., and retired from the Department of Housing and Urban Development, Washington.
Surviving: husband, Teddy G. Harris; son, Harold L. of Berwyn, Pa.; daughters, Janice H. George R. Harrison IVYDALE -- George R. Harrison, 57, of Ivydale, Clay County, died Friday, July 28, 2000, in Sault Ste. Marie, Mich., after a short illness. He was a porter, a merchant seaman for 34 years, an Army veteran of the Vietnam War and a member of VFW Post 8516.

Todd Cody Lipford Todd Cody Lipford, infant son of Lance T. and Sherry S. Lipford of Cross Lanes, was stillborn Tuesday, Aug. 8, 2000, in Women and Children's Hospital. Jackie I. McDerment Jackie I. McDerment, 61, of Dunbar died Tuesday, Aug. 8, 2000, in Thomas Memorial Hospital after a short illness. He was a heavy equipment operator for Rish Equipment with 21 years of service, a member of IUOE, attended Dunbar Church of the Nazarene and was a veteran of both the Army and Air Force.

Peggy G. Nunley Peggy G. Marion Nunley, 66, of Charleston, formerly of Elkview, died Tuesday, Aug. 8, 2000, at home after a long illness. She was a former employee of the KanawhaValley Regional Transportation Authority, Charles-ton, a member of Lucy Wilson Baptist Church, Elkview, and a lifelong resident of Kanawha County.

Willie Parker Jr. Willie Parker Jr., 74, of Charleston died Tuesday, Aug. 8, 2000, in Arthur B. Hodges Center after a long illness. He was a former employee of the Daniel Boone Hotel, a Navy veteran and a native of Rocky Mount, N.C.

He was co-owner of Auto Inspections Inc., Huntersville, N.C., a graduate of Elkview (W.Va.) High School, a Marine Corps veteran, and a member of El Jebel Temple, Denver, N.C., Scottish Rite Bodies, Denver, Grand Lodge of Georgia, and American Legion Post 321, Huntersville. He was a native of Tad, Kanawha County, W.Va.
