She was a baker for the Kroger deli in Oak Hill for more than 20 years and a member of Ingram Branch Baptist Church. Surviving: mother, Viola Staunton of Ingram Branch; sister, Sandra White of Columbus, Ohio; grandson, William Gibson of Ingram Branch. Service will be 2 p.m. Saturday at First Missionary Baptist Church, Harvey, with the Rev. Emmit Patterson and the Rev. Stanley Blanks officiating. Vera Frances Stepto, 68, of St. Albans died Thursday, Jan. 4, 2001, at home after a sudden illness. She was a Kanawha County schoolteacher, a former teacher and insurance underwriter in California, a member of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, St. Albans, and a graduate of Morris Harvey College and UCLA. Surviving: sisters, Lucille Helen Heddell of California, Stella Ann Butts of Florida; Kathryn Cook and Emogene Simms of Ohio, Josephine Clark of Marmet; brothers, David and Andrew Stepto of Marmet; several nieces and nephews. WHITE SULPHUR SPRINGS -- Hazel Evalee Weese, 75, of White Sulphur Springs died Tuesday, Jan. 9, 2001, at home after a long illness. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, White Sulphur Springs, and was retired from The Greenbrier Hotel. Surviving: husband, Ralph Arnold Weese; daughter, Karen Jean Moran of Arnold, Md.; sons, Wayne Michel of Jacksonville, Fla., Barry Lee of White Sulphur Springs; stepson, Gerald Lawrence Weese of Birmingham, Ala.; sisters, Genevieve O'Farrell of Harrisburg, Va., Emma Feury of White Sulphur Springs; brother, Charles LaFon of White Sulphur Springs; seven grandchildren. She was a gradate of Princeton High School and Mercer County Vocational/Technical Center, a former nurse at Bluefield Regional Medical Center and a member of Landmark Bible Church, Athens. He was a forest technician with Wesvaco, Rupert, a pilot for Rader Aviation, Summersville, a member of Elton Community Church and a Navy veteran of the Vietnam War. Surviving: wife, Donna Thomas Wickline; daughters, Lakin Olivia Wickline of home, Katie Hanshew of Danese, JoAnn Taylor of Hot Springs, Ark.; son, Garnet Austin Wickline at home; sisters, Gatha Wickline and Laura Wickline of Meadow Bridge; brother, Robert of Sam Black Church, Richard of Sissonville, Danny and John of Meadow Bridge. He was retired from Union Carbide, Alloy, W.Va., and was a former farmer and a former employee of a glass plant in Jane Lew, W.Va. Surviving: daughter, Dreama L. Frisk of Arlington; sister, Madeline Hinkle of Jane Lew; granddaughters, Beth Ann Norvell of The Hague, the Netherlands, Laura L. Frisk of Arlington; four great-grandchildren. She was a personal care giver in Sissonville and was a Baptist. Surviving: daughter, Diseree K. Butcher of Anchorage, Alaska; sisters, Judy Short of Barberton, Ohio, Faye Hodge of Erwin, Tenn., Danese Mabbitt of Staunton, Va., Bethel Grounds of Orlando, Fla., Sharon Walker of Charleston; brothers, Dennis Grounds of Cross Lanes, Earl Grounds of Leewood, Terry Grounds of Kanawha City; one granddaughter. He was a former employee of Iron Works Fabrication, Cross Lanes, and Hurricane Exxon. He was a member of Forrest Burdette Memorial United Methodist Church, Hurricane, Eastern Star Chapter 70, St. Albans, Masonic Lodge 139, Hurricane AF & AM, Royal Arch Masons Chapter 51, Knights Templar Commandery 9, Huntington, and the Good Sams Camping Club and was a lifelong resident of Hurricane. Surviving: father, Bruce Campbell of Hurricane; brother, Patrick of Hurricane; niece, Angela Michelle Campbell of Germany. He was a native of Given, W.Va., a member of Monacrest Free Methodist Church, Monaca, and retired from Anchor Hocking, Monaca. He was owner of C&D Catering, Gauley Bridge and a member of Gauley Share. Surviving: wife, Dorothy "Dottie" Davila; daughters, Sara Davila, Brandilyn Davila and Shawnee Davila; sons, Craig Jr. and Addison; sisters, Ellen and Nancy Marcano of Cleveland; brothers, Gary Humphries of Idaho, Leonard Humphries, Danny Davila and Richard Davila of Lorain, Ohio, Pete Marcano of Cleveland; one granddaughter. Pauline Odell Eads, 81, of Port Orange, Fla., formerly of Charleston, died Monday, Jan. 8, 2001, in Port Orange. She was retired from the Registered Nurses Bureau with the state of West Virginia. The body will be cremated by the Volusia County Cremation Society of Daytona Beach.
