LAKELAND, Fla. -- Eugene Ulysses Petry, 72, of Lakeland, Fla., formerly of Prenter, died April 9, 2001. He was an accountant for the mining industry, a Presbyterian, a member of 32nd Mason F. & A. M. Lodge #91 Lakeland, Scottish Rite, Egypt Temple Shrine, U.S. Army Air Corps, European and Pacific Theater and Berlin Air Lift. He is survived by his sons, Michael Clay Petry of Seffner, Fla., and Stephen Todd Petry of Lakeland; sister, Iris Buschmann of Baltimore, Md., and Fern Moore of Havelock, N.C.; and three grandchildren. Rosanna Simpson Rehm, 90, of Charleston died April 11, 2001, in Thomas Memorial Hospital after along illness. Surviving: nephew and caretaker, Mr. Charles "Chuck" Simpson and his wife, Margaret Ann Simpson, of Charleston; sister, Evelyn S. Ball of Charleston; brother, Jack Simpson; great-nieces, Amy Simpson, Kelly Whiting, Stacy Craig, Shelly Kelly, Lori Simpson and several other nieces and nephews. There will be no visitation. George P. Stacy
George P. Stacy, 78, of Charleston died April 10, 2001, at home after a long illness. A lifelong resident of Charleston, he was a graduate of Woodberry Forest and University of Virginia, worked for Lewis-Hubbard Corp. in Charleston and was the retired owned of South Hills Market in Charleston. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church, Charleston, and was in World War II American Field Service with the British Army. He is survived by wife, Betty Bird Stacy; daughters, Lynn Shaffer of Yawkey and June Stacy of Kenna; sons, Palmer Stacy of Raleigh, N.C., and Preston Stacy of Alderson; stepmother, Martha Stacy of Lewisburg; brother, Charles Stacy of Charleston; and grandchildren, Jennifer Stacy, Andy Stacy, Meggie Stacy, Chris Stacy and Scott Stacy. There will be no visitation. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Monday, April 16, at First Presbyterian Chapel, Charleston, with Dr. Douglas Heidt officiating. SUPPLY, N.C. -- Flossie Wilson Tucker, 78, of Supply, N.C., formerly of Jeffrey, died April 8, 2001, at Supply after a long illness. She was a member of the Church of Christ and a homemaker. Joyce Taylor Wroczynski
SCOTT DEPOT, W.Va. -- Ms. Joyce Taylor Wroczynski, 47, of Scott Depot died April 8, 2001, at her home. She was a fourth grade teacher at Poca Elementary School, a former teacher at Conner Street Elementary School, Hurricane, and performed various special assignments for the West Virginia Board of Education. She was a member of Forrest Burdette Memorial United Methodist Church, Hurricane, and a graduate of Winfield High School. She received her bachelor's degree from Anderson College, Anderson, Ind., and her master's degree from Marshall University, Huntington. Surviving: son, Steven Wrocyznski, a student at Shepherd College, Shepherdstown, W.Va.; daughter, Crystal, a student at Berea College, Berea, Ky.; parents, Ross and Clarice Briscoe Taylor of Scott Depot; brother, Dr. Rod Taylor of Scott Depot; along with a host of friends and relatives. Thomas "Tom" E. Baughan
Thomas "Tom" E. Baughan, 92, of Pratt passed away Dec. 10, 2001 at home after an extended illness. He was a lifelong resident of Pratt. He was a retired superintendent from Pratt Public Water Works, a retired police and fire chief of Pratt. He was the owner of Baughan's Garage in Pratt. He was a member of Old Kanawha Baptist Church in Pratt. He was preceded in death by his father and mother, William and Hannah Keeney Baughan; sister, Helen Baughan Huddleston; and brothers, William H. Baughan, Ralph H. Baughan Sr., Leonard J. Baughan. Mr. Baughan is survived by his wife Dolly Clark Baughan; sons, David C. Baughan of Gadsden, S.C., and Gary W. Baughan of Parkersburg, W.Va.; brothers; John C. Baughan of Cabin Creek, Robert L. COTTLE, W.Va. - Ada V. Blye, 90, of Cottle, W.Va., died Dec. 9, 2001, after an extended illness. She was lifelong resident of Nicholas County, and attended Cottle Church of God. She is survived by three sons, Milburn Grimmett of Amherst, Ohio, Bernard Grimmett of Vermillion, Ohio, and Marvin Grimmett of Oklahoma; one daughter, Maryorie Music of Urbana, Ohio; one sister, Greatha Wilson of Leivasy, W.Va.; one special granddaughter, Debbie Powers of Summersville, W.Va.; 16 additional grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; 20 great-great grandchildren. Mrs. Beulah Gum Bolt
Mrs. Beulah Gum Bolt, 88, of White Sulphur Springs passed away Dec. 10, 2001 at her home following a brief illness. She was born January 25, 1913, the youngest daughter of the late William H. and Naomi Wade Gum of White Sulphur Springs. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Coleman M. Bolt; one son, William C. Bolt; three brothers, Wilbur H., Carl A. and Arthur W. Gum; one sister, Grace Gum Trevail. Mrs. Bolt was an elder in the First Presbyterian Church, White Sulphur Springs, and was an active member of Circle #2. She was also a member of the Women's Club of White Sulphur Springs for over sixty years. She is survived by two sons, John D. Bolt of Columbia, S.C., and Larry J. Bolt of White Sulphur Springs; one daughter, Louise B. Williams of Richmond, Va.; twelve grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; two step great grandchildren. Service will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 12, at First Presbyterain Church, White Sulphur Springs with Rev. Ben Gurley officiating. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery, White Sulphur Springs. Benjamin Franklin Estep, 84, of Chesapeake died Dec. 10, 2001, after a long illness. He retired from Morris Harvey College, Charleston. He was a Protestant. He is survived by his wife, Claudetta Estep; sons, Roy Estep of Pratt, Lloyd Estep of Cleveland, Ohio; sister, May Jane Key of Man; six grandchildren, Rachel Withrow of Hansford, Linda Adams and Lisa Marie Estep, both of Cleveland, Ohio, Tammy Hinkle of Witcher Creek, Mark Harvey of Chesapeake, and Stephen Estep of Pratt; five great grandchildren, Chad, Ashley,and Alyss Adams, all of Cleveland, Ohio, Aaron Adkins of Mount Hope, Nicholas Harvey of Glasgow. Zelma H. Ferrebee
Zelma H. Ferrebee, 86, of Wallback, W.Va., died Dec. 10, 2001 at home. She as a homemaker and a member of Little Laurel Baptist Church. She was born on June 17, 1915, to the late Emory Watson and Elzina Jane Summers. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Albert B. Ferrebee; two daughters, Anna J. Davis, and Almeda B. "Bea" Burdette. She is survived by her daughters, Virginia Blankenship of Harmony, N.C., Helen Cottrell, and Jane Burkhamer of Wallback, W.Va.; sons, William Paul Ferrebee of Wallback, David Ferrebee of Speed, W.Va., Basil Ferrebee of Statesville, N.C., A. C. "Bud" Ferrebee of Maysel. W.Va., and E. C. Paul J. Fulks Sr., 89, of Charleston died Dec. 9, 2001, at home after a long illness. He was retired from the Charleston Tennis Club. He was a Christian and was born in Logan County. He was a lifelong resident of Richwood, a member of Richwood Christian Church, an Army veteran of the Korean War. He retired from the United States Postal Service in Richwood. He is survived by his wife, Sally Gwinn, Richwood; daughter, Veronica and her husband Larry Brewster of Mechanicsville, Va.; grandson, Evan Brewster; three brothers, Bernard Gwinn, Alva Gwinn, and Jerry Gwinn, all of Richwood; sister, Garnett Russell, Richwood. Mildred M. Robinson Hamrick, 71, of Webster Springs, W.Va., died Dec. 10, 2001. She was born February 26, 1930 in Webster County. She was a homemaker and attended Cherry Falls Chapel, Webster Springs, where she was a member of the choir. She was preceded in death by her parents, James C. and Georgia B. Mallette; her first husband, Ross J. Robinson; daughter, Sharon Ruth Robinson; and four brothers and sisters. Mrs. Marie Linville Hudgins
OXFORD, Ga. - Mrs. Marie Linville Hudgins, 93, of Oxford, Ga., died Dec. 2, 2001 at Merryvale Assisted Living Residence. She was born in Lexington, Ky., on April 18, 1908, to the late Bee and Elizabeth Harry Linville, and was the widow of the late Archibald P. Hudgins, who died in 1960. Mrs. Hudgins lived in Charleston, W.Va. from 1936 until 1963, at which time she moved to Ft. Lauderdale, Fla. where she wsa a registered nurse by profession until 1973. In January 1999, Mrs. Hudgins moved to Oxford, where she lived until the time of her death. She is survived by her sons, Arch Hudgins of Salisbury, N.C., Lynn Hudgins of Social Circle, Ga.; two grandsons; three great grandchildren. Floyd Jude
Floyd Jude, 88, of Oak Hill died Dec. 10, 2001 in an Oak Hill Care Center, following a long illness. Born in February 12, 1913 in Kentucky, he was the son of the late Jack and Emma McCoy Jude. Mr. Jude was a retired coal miner and a member of the UMWA Local #6046, District 29. He attended the Fellowship Memorial Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by three brothers, and three sisters, John, Anderson, Teddy Jude, Martha May, Hazel Jude, and Tilsie Jude; and a daughter, Shirley Jean Fisher. He is survived by his wife, Arizona Lea Trent Jude; one son, Earl Junior Jude of Cabin Creek; one brother, Billy Ray Jude of Ohio; two sisters, Icy Eplion and Mary Copley, both of Huntington; five grandchildren; and ten grandchildren. Service will be 1 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 13, at High Lawn Funeral Home, Oak Hill with the Rev. Bill Menefee officiating. Burial will follow in High Lawn Memorial Park.
