Dennis Dunlap, 88, of Sumerco died Dec. 10, 2001, at home after a long illness. He was a member of McCorkle Freewill Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife, Katherine; one daughter, Loleta Justice and her husband, Ernie of Sumerco; two sons, Charles "Bo" and his wife, Sandra of Alum Creek, and Bernard of Sumerco; three sisters, Marie VanGundy of Griffithsville, Nellie Allen of McCorkle, Neva Stump of Griffithsville; one brother, Donald Dunlap of McCorkle; eleven grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; four great-great grandchildren. Benjamin Franklin Estep
Benjamin Franklin Estep, 84, of Chesapeake died Dec. 10, 2001, after a long illness. He retired from Morris Harvey College, Charleston. He was a Protestant. He is survived by his wife, Claudetta Estep; sons, Roy Estep of Pratt, Lloyd Estep of Cleveland, Ohio; sister, May Jane Key of Man; six grandchildren, Rachel Withrow of Hansford, Linda Adams and Lisa Marie Estep, both of Cleveland, Ohio, Tammy Hinkle of Witcher Creek, Mark Harvey of Chesapeake, and Stephen Estep of Pratt; five great grandchildren, Chad, Ashley,and Alyss Adams, all of Cleveland, Ohio, Aaron Adkins of Mount Hope, Nicholas Harvey of Glasgow. Service will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 12, at Cooke Funeral Home, Cedar Grove with Rev. David Hancock officiating. Burial will be in Clark Cemetery, Kelly Creek, Sissonville. Zelma H. Ferrebee
Zelma H. Ferrebee, 86, of Wallback, W.Va., died Dec. 10, 2001 at home. She as a homemaker and a member of Little Laurel Baptist Church. She was born on June 17, 1915, to the late Emory Watson and Elzina Jane Summers. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Albert B. Ferrebee; two daughters, Anna J. Davis, and Almeda B. "Bea" Burdette. She is survived by her daughters, Virginia Blankenship of Harmony, N.C., Helen Cottrell, and Jane Burkhamer of Wallback, W.Va.; sons, William Paul Ferrebee of Wallback, David Ferrebee of Speed, W.Va., Basil Ferrebee of Statesville, N.C., A. C. "Bud" Ferrebee of Maysel. W.Va., and E. C. Paul J. Fulks Sr., 89, of Charleston died Dec. 9, 2001, at home after a long illness. He was retired from the Charleston Tennis Club. He was a Christian and was born in Logan County. He ws preceded in death by his wife, Betty; three daughters, Betty, Brenda, and Beverly. He is survived by his sons, Rev. Paul J. Fulks of Cross Lanes, Charles R. Virgil Allen Gwinn
RICHWOOD - Virgil Allen Gwinn, 71, of Richwood passed away Dec. 11, 2001 in Richwood Area Medical Center, Richwood, after a long illness. He was a lifelong resident of Richwood, a member of Richwood Christian Church, an Army veteran of the Korean War. He retired from the United States Postal Service in Richwood. He is survived by his wife, Sally Gwinn, Richwood; daughter, Veronica and her husband Larry Brewster of Mechanicsville, Va.; grandson, Evan Brewster; three brothers, Bernard Gwinn, Alva Gwinn, and Jerry Gwinn, all of Richwood; sister, Garnett Russell, Richwood. Mildred M. Robinson Hamrick, 71, of Webster Springs, W.Va., died Dec. 10, 2001. She was born February 26, 1930 in Webster County. She was a homemaker and attended Cherry Falls Chapel, Webster Springs, where she was a member of the choir. She was preceded in death by her parents, James C. and Georgia B. Mallette; her first husband, Ross J. Robinson; daughter, Sharon Ruth Robinson; and four brothers and sisters. She is survived by her husband, O'Dell Hamrick of Webster Springs; daughters and sons-in-law, Brenda and Larry Helmick of Camden on Gauley, W.Va., Sonja and Terry Lemons of High Point, N.C., and Sue and Wes Wade of Mt. NEW HAVEN, W.Va. - Trilby M. Hart, 94, of New Haven, W.Va., died Dec. 10, 2001. Graveside service will be 1 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 13, at Graham Cemetery, New Haven. There will be no visitation.

Mrs. Marie Linville Hudgins
OXFORD, Ga. - Mrs. Marie Linville Hudgins, 93, of Oxford, Ga., died Dec. 2, 2001 at Merryvale Assisted Living Residence. She was born in Lexington, Ky., on April 18, 1908, to the late Bee and Elizabeth Harry Linville, and was the widow of the late Archibald P. Hudgins, who died in 1960. Mrs. Hudgins lived in Charleston, W.Va. from 1936 until 1963, at which time she moved to Ft. Lauderdale, Fla. where she wsa a registered nurse by profession until 1973. In January 1999, Mrs. Hudgins moved to Oxford, where she lived until the time of her death. She is survived by her sons, Arch Hudgins of Salisbury, N.C., Lynn Hudgins of Social Circle, Ga.; two grandsons; three great grandchildren. Floyd Jude
Floyd Jude, 88, of Oak Hill died Dec. 10, 2001 in an Oak Hill Care Center, following a long illness. Born in February 12, 1913 in Kentucky, he was the son of the late Jack and Emma McCoy Jude. Mr. Jude was a retired coal miner and a member of the UMWA Local #6046, District 29. He attended the Fellowship Memorial Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by three brothers, and three sisters, John, Anderson, Teddy Jude, Martha May, Hazel Jude, and Tilsie Jude; and a daughter, Shirley Jean Fisher. He is survived by his wife, Arizona Lea Trent Jude; one son, Earl Junior Jude of Cabin Creek; one brother, Billy Ray Jude of Ohio; two sisters, Icy Eplion and Mary Copley, both of Huntington; five grandchildren; and ten grandchildren. Service will be 1 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 13, at High Lawn Funeral Home, Oak Hill with the Rev. Bill Menefee officiating. Burial will follow in High Lawn Memorial Park. Carl D. King
Carl D. King, 86, of Flowery Branch, Ga., died Dec. 8, 2001. He was born May 20, 1915 in Elkhurst, W.Va. He was a retired coal miner for numerous mines in the Clay County area. He was an evangelist for the Church of God. He is survived by his daughters, Diana Blake of Orlando, Fla., Carolyn Sue Estep of Flowery Branch, and Leota Gratehouse of Apopka, Fla., Emily Koger of Gainesville, Ga.; sons, Carl E. King of Flowerery Branch, Ernest King of Alto, W.Va., James Robert King of Groveland, Fla., Terry King of West Virginia; brother, James King; 24 grandchildren; 42 great grandchildren; one great great grandchild. Service will be 1 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 12, at Carl Wilson Funeral Home, Clay with Rev. Morris Nutter officiating. Burial will be in Clay Memorial Gardens. Monroe Moore
Monroe Moore, 76, of Rosedale died suddenly Dec. 10, 2001 at home from a heart attack. He was born March 16, 1925, a son of the late Herbert and Chessie Bourn Moore. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Geraldine Moore on Nov. 4, 2001. He was a farmer; a member of the Rosedale Baptist Church, where he also served as Trustee, a member of the National Cattleman's Beef Association, an honorary member of the FFA, a board member of Southern States. He was a former Braxton County Commissioner, he was on the Planning Committe for the Braxton County Memorial Hospital, and an Army veteran of World War II. He is survived by his son, Lawrence W. Moore of Rosedale; three grandchildren. Service will be 1 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 13, at Rosedale Baptist Church, Rosedale with Elder George Rose and Rev. Larry Conrand officiating. Hildreth Eddington Murray
BELPRE, Ohio - Hildreth Eddington Murray, 89, of Belpre, Ohio, passed away at home on Sunday, Dec. 9, 2001. She was born February 10, 1912, in Clarksburg, W.Va., the daughter of the late Charles and Louise McCoy Eddington. She was preceded in death by her only son, Charles R. "Bob" Murray and two grandsons, Richard Murray and Scott Willis. Mrs. Murray is survived by her husband of 70 years, Robert F. Murray; one daughter, Ruth Murray Willis; daughter-in-law, Colleen Ellis Murray; grandsons, Robert and Russell Murray; one granddaughter, Ann Willis. She is also survived by two great grandchildren, Katheryn "Katie" and Matthew Murray. Arrangements are by Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, Parkersburg. A family service will be conducted later.

Druzella "Sis" Price
Druzella "Sis" Price, 79, of Hernshaw, went home to be with the Lord Dec. 10, 2001, at Mary's Garden in Marmet, after a short illness. She was a retired postmistress from the United States Postal Service at Hernshaw. She was a member of the Len's Creek Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her father and mother, Lonzy A. Sr. and Cecil R. "Mema" Price and brothers, Emery and Lonzy Jr. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law Carolyn and David Collet of Cross Lanes; grandchildren, Alyssa and Tyler Collet of Cross Lanes; sisters, Lucille Price of Hernshaw, and Letha Atkins of Bremen, Ind.; brother, Rev. Vernon R. Price of Marmet, W.Va. Service will be 11 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 13, at Len's Creek Baptist Church, Hernshaw with Rev. Vernon Price and Rev. Tim Martin officiating. Dr. James David Rich
Dr. James David Rich, 51, of Fairmont (Rock Lake Community), died Wednesday, Nov. 28, 2001, at United Hospital Center in Clarksburg. He was born on Dec. 233, 1949, in Charleston, son of the late Dominic James and Rose Guido Rich. He is survived by his stepmother, Mary Jo Rosenberger Rich of Fairmont. Dr. Rich was a physician with Associated Emergency Room Physicians in Hurricane, and Mylan Pharmaceuticals, and also worked for the Department of Energy. He was a lifetime member of the Osteopathic Association, and was the former chief of the Marion County Rescue Squad. He graduated from Fairmont State College in 1972, and graduated from the West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine in Lewisburg in 1986. He did a one-year internship at Logan General Hospital. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Susan McWilliams Rich; two sons, Brent and Shay Rich, both at home; and one daughter, Breanna Rich of Fairmont State College. He is also survived by two brothers, Thomas Kirk of Charleston and David Rich of Buffalo; and three sisters, Nancy Kirk of Fairmont, Kay Burkhart of Ohio, and Rose Smarr of Worthington.

Mr. Clarence Leonard Rose Sr.
Mr. Clarence Leonard Rose Sr., 85, of Charleston went to be with the Lord on Dec. 9, 2001,after a short illness. Mr. Rose worked several years in the coal mines before signing on as a bellman at the Daniel Boone Hotel in 1951. He retired at the age of 64, after 30 years of service. He was preceded in death by his wife, Jessie Ruth Todd Rose; his brother, Isaac "Junebug" Jackson; his granddaughter, Casandra Sayles Austin. He leaves in his memory, seven children, Gloria Rose Johnson and her husband, Roy, Clarence L. "Rogie" Rose Jr. and his wife, Brenda, Charles L. "Weasel" Rose and his wife, Cassandra, Carl "BoBo" Rose, Drema "DeeDee" Rose Pratt and her husband, Wavey, Jacqueline D. "Jackie" Rose and companion, Tyrone Thomas, Curtis L. Rose; 22 grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren; ten great-great grandchildren; a host of family, friends and neighbors, and also the family pet dog, Dashia. Service will be 1 p.m. Friday, Dec. 14, at Liberty Baptist Church of Charleston with Rev. Allen Hill officiating. Burial will be at Spring Hill Cemetery. Friends may visit at Liberty Baptist Church one hour prior to the service.

She was born Sept. 23, 1930 at Spencer, to the late Delbert and Eva Abbbott Starcher. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Willie Glen Tackett on Feb. 15, 1999; brothers, Charles, Cecil, Bill, and Glen; twin sister, Macel Chenowith. She attended Elk Valley Advent Christian Church, Big Chimney, and was a graduate of Walton High School. She retired from Stone and Thomas, Charleston, and was a volunteer at Saint Francis Hospital, Charleston. She is survived by her brother, Delbert Starcher Jr. of Walton; sisters, Nina Luke and Jo Ann Kirchoffer, both of Indiana. Service will be 11 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 13, at Matics Funeral Home, Clendenin with Rev. Ted Tawney officiating. Burial will be at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church Cemetery, Tornado.
