Alice Beatrice Luker
SETH - Alice Beatrice Luker, 78, of Seth, formerly of Howell, N.J., died Dec. 4, 2002, in Boone Memorial Hospital, Madison, after a long illness. She was born July 25, 1924, in New Jersey. She was a homemaker. She was preceded by her husband, Donald Luker and a son, Walter Craig Luker. She is survived by three daughters, Kay Harrah of Seth, Doris Lynn Anderson of Howell, DIane Hoelle of Florida; son, Donald R. Luker of Middlesex, N.J.; sister, Doris Stilwell of Holmodel, N.J.; brother, William T. Schue of Farmingdale, N.J.; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren. Graveside service will be 1 p.m. Friday, Dec. 6, at Pineview Cemetery, Orgas, with Pastor Bart Elkins officiating. There will be no visitation. Family and friends will meet at the cemetery. Armstrong Funeral Home, Whitesville, is in charge of arrangements.

Evelyn L. Meadows
BRADDOCK HEIGHTS, Md. - Evelyn L. Meadows, 82, formerly of Tariff, W.Va., died Dec. 2, 2002. Service will be 2 p.m. Friday, Dec. 6, at Taylor-Vandale Funeral Home, Spencer. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

EVANS - Rev. Taylor Munsey, 86, of Evans died Dec. 2, 2002. Service will be 11 a.m. Friday, Dec. 6, 2002, in Evans Church of God. Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Casto Funeral Home, Evans.

Chester J. Perkins
Chester J. Perkins, 75, of Charleston, formerly of Summersville, died Dec. 3, 2002, in CAMC Memorial Hospital after a long illness. He was a retired miner from Sewell Coal Co. and was a member of UMW, Strange Creek Masonic Lodge 130, Scottish Rite Bodies and Beni Kedem Shrine. He was a US Army veteran. He was preceded in death by his parents, Victor and Elsie Morris Perkins and one son, Terry Perkins. He is survived by his wife, Helen Tinney Perkins; daughters, Sandra Miller and her husband, Jerry, of Bonita Springs, Fla.; five grandchildren; several great-grandchildren. Graveside service will be 1 p.m. Friday, Dec. 6, at Restlawn Memory Gardens, Victor, with the Rev. Nelson Harris and the Rev. Charles Cook officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to Shriners Hospital for Children, P.O. Box 2589, Charleston, WV 25329. Pennington Funeral Home, Gauley Bridge, is in charge of arrangements.

Signora Price
POWDER SPRINGS, Ga. - Signora Brandon Price, formerly of Dunbar, W.Va., departed this life on Monday, Dec. 2, 2002, after a long illness. Signora was preceded in death by her husband, Donald M. Price, parents, George and Mary Brandon, her nine brothers and only sister. Signora was retired from Herbert J. Thomas Hospital, South Charleston, with over 20 years of service. Signora leaves to mourn daughter, Krystal Price of Atlanta; sons, Donald and Ronald Price of Dunbar; one grandson; two granddaughters, three great-grandchildren; a host of loving nieces and nephews. Violet Ora Cavender Shinn
Violet Ora Cavender Shinn, 90, of Charleston died Dec. 3, 2002, in Arthur B. Hodges Nursing Home. She was a member of the Charleston Mountain Mission, the Adult Bible Class at the church and worked at Kelly Ax Co. during World War II. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Shinn in 1975. She is survived by her sons, Harold "Gene" Shinn of Little Rock, Ark., Jerry G. Shinn of Charleston; brother, Manford Cavender of Charleston; sisters, Goldie Henson and Marietta Wisnewski, both of Charleston, Velma Harrison of Sissonville, Edena Edens of Frame, Mabel Morris of Elkview, Dorothy Jones of Portland, Tenn.; two grandchildren; two great-grandchildren. Service will be 11 a.m. Friday, Dec. 6, at Cunningham-Parker-Johnson Funeral Home, Charleston, with the Rev. Fairley McCormick officiating. Burial will be in Cavender Cemetery, Coopers Creek, Big Chimney. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Frank Wesley Walker Jr.
Frank Wesley Walker Jr., 53, of Charleston died Dec. 2, 2002, in CAMC Memorial Hospital after a short illness. Frank was born April 10, 1949, to the late Arthlie Gore Walker and Frank Wesley Walker Sr., in Charleston. He was a loving husband, devoted father, trusting brother and a faithful friend. He was employed by C&H Taxi, Charleston, and was a member of Rand Bethel Church of the Nazarene, where he served as church trustee, member of the Usher Board, Sunday School and church soloist. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Henry and Cecil, one sister, Ella Walker. He leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Diane Walker; son, Frank Wesley Walker III; daughter, Rebecca Walker, all of Rand; brother and sister-in-law, Robert and Joyce Walker; three nieces; two nephews; one uncle; two aunts; host of relatives and friends. Blessed are they that mourn for they shall be comforted. Service will be 1 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 7, at Rand Bethel Church of the Nazarene, Rand, with the Rev. Robert Dean and the Rev. Dorothy Dean. Burial will be in Spring Hill Cemetery, Charleston. Friends may call one hour prior to service Saturday at the church. Preston Funeral Home, Charleston, is in charge of arrangements.
