He was a clerk with the Postal Service, a member of Loudendale Freewill Baptist Church, VFW John Brawley Post 20, Postal Clerks Union Local 175 and the Teamsters. He was an Army sergeant, serving in Korea and Vietnam.

BIDWELL, Ohio -- James W. Snead, 66, of Bidwell, formerly of Kanawha County, W.Va., died Tuesday, Jan. 20, 1998, in Holzer Senior Care Center, Gallipolis, Ohio, after a long illness. He was a retired maintenance worker for Barlow-Bonsall Funeral Home, Charleston, W.Va.
Surviving: wife, Jo Ann Snead; daughter, Charlotte Lucas of Charleston; stepdaughter, Nancy Whittington of Cabin Creek, W.Va.; sons, Raymond of Cabin Creek, Leon of Florida; seven grandchildren; one stepgrandchild; five great-grandchildren. Robert Stokes
CINCINNATI, Ohio -- Robert Stokes, 73, of Cincinnati died Tuesday, Jan. 20, 1998, in Charleston, W.Va., after a long illness. He was an executive for Procter and Gamble from 1947 to 1989 in the United States and Europe, serving in various roles, was a member of the board in Germany and in various roles including manager of external affairs for the paper products division. He was a 1945 graduate of Yale and a member of Yale Glee Club. He was a member of Knox Presbyterian Church, Cincinnati, and the church choir. He was a lieutenant junior grade with the Navy during World War II.
Surviving: daughter, Beth Marshall of Charleston; son, Robert Stokes Jr. of Seattle, Wash.; sister, Mary Wood of Alexandria, Va.; grandchildren, Robert, Christine and Eric Bergman of Charleston, Reed Stokes of Seattle. Service will be 3 p.m. Saturday at Knox Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Tom York officiating. Inurnment will be in Knox Presbyterian Church Columbarian, Hyde Park, Cincinnati. The family will receive friends in the Knox Room of the church after the service. The family suggests memorial contributions to the American Cancer Society or the Association for the Blind. HARVEY, Ill. -- Howard D. Terrell, 61, of Harvey, formerly of Montgomery, W.Va., died Sunday, Jan. 18, 1998, in Illinois after a short illness. He was a member of Peace and Good Will Church of God in Christ, Phoenix, Ill.

FLINT, Mich. -- Roy Junior Thomas, 55, of Flint died Saturday, Jan. 17, 1998, in a Grand Blanc, Mich., hospital. He a native of Coaldale, Mercer County, W.Va., retired from General Motors, Flint, and was a member of the United Auto Workers.

He retired from McJunkin Corp. with 40 years of service, was former owner of Dunbar Bowling Center, an Army veteran of World War II, a member of Elks Lodge 202, Moose Lodge 565, VFW Post 9097 and the American Bowling Congress.

She was owner/operator of Reflections Cafe and the Unicorn Catering Co., a member of the American Association of Family and Consumer Sciences, the International Furnishings and Design Association and Burnt Hickory Baptist Church, Kennesaw, Ga.
