ASHLAND, Ky. -- Ida Pear Hager Webb, 84, of Ashland, formerly of Ranger, W.Va., died Wednesday, Feb. 4, 1998, at home after a long illness. She was a homemaker and a member of Kiah's Creek Baptist Church, Ranger.

FAYETTEVILLE -- A. Elton "Coach" Whanger, 93, of Fayetteville died Wednesday, Feb. 4, 1998, at home after a short illness. He was a retired chemist from Union Carbide, Alloy, a former teacher and coach at Fayetteville High School, a member of Fayetteville Presbyterian Church and a graduate of Concord College.
Surviving: wife, Beatrice Foster Whanger; sons, Thomas F. and Richard E. of Newport News, Va.; daughters, Sara E. Capodilupo of Brookline, Mass., Janette W. Neal of Fayetteville; brothers, Merrel of Ronceverte, Wilbur of Montana, Buddy of Baltimore, Md.; sister, Agnes Harvey of Hinton; nine grandchildren; one great-granddaughter. Ethel S. White, 91, of South Charleston died Wednesday, Feb. 4, 1998, in Thomas Memorial Hospital after a long illness. She was a native of Sand Run, a retired seamstress from The Diamond with 25 years of service and a member of Fifth Avenue Church of God, South Charleston.

WESTON -- Wanna Lee Wyant, 67, of Weston died Wednesday, Feb. 4, 1998, at home after a long illness. She was a caregiver to the elderly.

Danny R. Zickafoose
HINTON -- Danny Russell Zickafoose, 37, of Hinton died Wednesday, Feb. 4, 1998, in Hinton. The body was sent to the state medical examiner's office to determine the cause of death, said a spokesman in the medical examiner's office. He was former owner of Danny's Carpet, Hinton, and a Methodist.

LEESBURG, Fla. -- Betty Lee Clemmer Allen, 70, of Leesburg died Friday, Jan. 30, 1998, after a long illness. She was a native of Blue Creek, W.Va., and was retired from First Federal Savings & Loan.

He was a graduate of Gilmer County High School, attended Glenville State College, was a Cub Scout leader, a cable installer for Wilden Inc., Weston, and a member of Sand Fork Baptist Church.

Leonard Howard Baldwin, 79, of Charleston died Thursday, Feb. 5, 1998, in Thomas Memorial Hospital, South Charleston. He was a retired mechanic from Budd Co., Detroit, and a former security employee at CAMC, General Division.

MORGANTOWN -- William E. Boggs Sr., 73, of Morgantown died Friday, Feb. 6, 1998, at home. He was a native of Charleston, a Protestant, a retired miner from Duquesne Light Warwick Mine, a member of UMW and VFW Post 548, Morgantown, and a Navy Seabee veteran of World War II.
Surviving: wife, Anna Mae Adams Boggs; sons, William E. Jr. and Kevin Alan of Morgantown; sister, Oleta Boggs Adkinson of Ridgedale; brother, Oliver Burl Boggs of Ridgedale; three granddaughters. SALINA, Kansas -- George Burkle, 88, of Salina died Saturday, Jan. 24, 1998, in Salina Presbyterian Manor. He was a farmer and a member of Temple Church, near Gypsum.
Surviving: wife, Grace Ann Burkle; daughter, Mercedes Sayre of Point Pleasant, W.Va.; three additional daughters; one son; granddaughters, Christine Sayre Vaglienti of Morgantown, W.Va., Connie Sayre Huston of Dunbar, W.Va.; 12 additional grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren.
