Irma Irene "Snooky" Smithers, 63, of Charleston died March 27, 1998, at home. She was born in Ironton, Ohio, and was a graduate of Stonewall Jackson High School. She was retired from the state Tax Department, attended Sixth Street Methodist Church, Charleston, and was a member of the Charleston Moose Lodge.

BECKLEY -- John T. "Tommy" Bostick, 84, of Beckley died Sunday, March 29, 1998, in Princeton Community Hospital after a short illness. He was an Army-Air Force veteran of World War II and attended Piney View Bible Church.
Surviving: wife, Erma Bailey Bostick; several nieces and nephews. Service will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens Mausoleum Chapel of Faith, Prosperity, with the Rev. He was a retired electrician from Union Carbide, Institute and South Charleston, with 25 years of service, a 21-year resident of Grandview Ridge, and a Navy veteran of World War II. He was a member of Dunbar AF&AM Lodge 159 and St. Albans Moose Lodge.

ST. LOUIS, Mo. -- John H. Buckbee, 51, of St. Louis died Thursday, March 26, 1998, in St. Louis after a short illness. He was a former resident of Montgomery and Summersville, W.Va., a graduate of Montgomery High School and West Virginia Tech, where he studied printing management, was plant manager of Sayers Inc., St. Louis, and was a member of Sigma Phi Epsilon Fraternity.
Surviving: daughters, Heather Buckbee of St. Louis, Tiffany Applegate of Ozark, Mo.; parents, Bert and Norma Buckbee of Boiling Spring Lakes, N.C.; sisters, Ann Nunnery of Cannelton, Theresa Wilson of Dosewell, Va., Ruth Blair of Rivesville, Va.
