He was a retired miner from Slab Fork Coal Co. with 42 years of service, a member of the UMW, an Army veteran of World War II and a member of Perry Memorial United Methodist Church, Shady Spring. He was a lifelong resident of Shady Spring.
Surviving: wife, Mary Ellen Whitt Crook; sons, Lloyd W. of Grandview, Ronnie Q. and Don T. of Blue Jay Six; Darlene R. Keesee of Beaver; brother, T.A. She was owner/operator of Art Craft Beauty Room, Lewisburg, served as a Red Cross nurse's aide during World War II, was a life member of Lewisburg United Methodist Church, a member of Rebecca Lodge and a charter member of American Legion Auxiliary Lewisburg Unit 69.

She was owner/operator of Wright's Convenient Store, Rosedale, a 1984 graduate of Braxton County High School and a Protestant.

Byrne D. Leftwich, 87, of Campbells Creek died Sunday, April 12, 1998, in CAMC, Memorial Division, after a short illness. He was a retired miner from Ogble Norton Coal Co. and Hatfield Campbells Creek Coal Co., a former employee of Wells Fargo Co., a member of the UMW, attended Coal Fork United Methodist Church and was a member of Charleston Lodge 1444 Loyal Order of the Moose. He was a lifelong resident of Campbells Creek.

Hardware, former member of Junior League, Junior League Garden Club, Ivy Club, Rotary Anns, PEO Chapter M and an active member of First Presbyterian Church where she was a Sunday school teacher and member of the Women's Club.
Surviving: daughters, Sally Breece and Nancy Pommerenck of Huntington; son, Daniel V. Love Jr. of Durham, N.C.; nine grandchildren; two great-grandchildren.
