She was a native of Albany, Ohio, a graduate of Kettering High School, Ohio, and Northwestern Business College, Lima, and attended Ohio University. She was a teacher at Oak Hill and Fayetteville high schools with 47 years of service, a graduate of West Virginia University, a lifelong resident of Fayette County and a member of Lansing Baptist Church. Surviving: sister, Ernestine Sims Mallory of Charleston; brother, Herchiel Sims of Charleston; several nieces and nephews. Memorial service will be held at a later date.
