Miss Riffe, 15, of Harts died Sunday, April 27, 1997, from injuries received in a two-vehicle accident on W.Va. 10 near Harts, said a spokesman for the state police Hamlin detachment.

Iris V. Ashley, 77, of Nitro died May 3, 1997, in Memorial Division, CAMC, after a long illness. She was a lifelong resident of Nitro, a retired clerk for the Department of Motor Vehicles, and a member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church, Nitro. Surviving: sons, Charles B. of Hopkinsville, Ky., C. David of St. Albans; brother, John Board of Victoria, Texas; sisters, Thelma Smith of Chicago, Irene Cole of Groves, Texas, Susan Harper of Charleston; four grandchildren. He was employed by Railway Mail Service for 32 years, a schoolteacher at Sugar Camp Run, and attended Glenville College and Clarksburg Business School. He was formerly of Pittsburgh, St. Albans, Elkview and Weston. Surviving: wife, Helen Bunten; son, Ralph T. Bunten Jr. of Hernando, Miss.; daughters, Helen Keplinger of Bethesda, Md., Elaine Bunten-Mines of Vienna, Va.; half brother, Merrill Crawford of Crawford; stepbrother, Edwin Crawford of Buckhannon; stepsister, Mabra Crawford of Morgantown; two grandchildren. William Lee Conley, 50, of South Charleston died May 1, 1997, in General Division, CAMC, after a short illness. He was a service representative for Sears automotive and a retired sergeant first-class for the U.S. Army, serving two tours in Vietnam. He was a recipient of the Bronze Star, the Army Accomodation medal, the Army Achievement medal and numerous other medals and citations. He was a member of the VFW 8129, El-kana Post. UNIVERSAL CITY, Texas -- Myrtle A. "Peg" Allen, 95, of Universal City, formerly of Hinton, W.Va., died Thursday, May 1, 1997, in a San Antonio, Texas, hospital after a short illness. She retired from the old Hinton Hospital, where she worked as a private duty and general duty nurse, worked for the American Red Cross during World War II, was a member of the Hinton Nurses Club and American Nursing Association. She was a former member of Hinton Woman's Club and the Wednesday Club and was a member of Ascension Episcopal Church, Hinton. Surviving: special friends, Nick and Joan Overstreet Milanovich of Universal City, with whom she made her home; several nieces and nephews.
