Belinda Jo Ammons
Belinda Jo Ammons, 33, of Daybrook, died Monday, Sept. 4, 2000, at home. She was born June 9, 1967,in Morgantown, daughter of Bill and Linda Moore Barr, of Daybrook. She is also survived by a son, Shane Michael Ammons, of Daybrook; a daughter, Shania Nicole Ammons, of Daybrook; a brother and spouse, Steven D. and Sherri Jones Barr, of Core; a sister and ex-spouse, Dana L. Hamilton Lucas and Michael J. Hamilton, both of Morgantown; a niece, Brooke Elizabeth Barr; two nephews, Joshua Lucas and Justin Lucas; and her ex-husband, Michael J. Ammons, of Pentress. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, John Moss and Flossie M. Moore, and John W. and Lena Barr; an uncle, John Junior Moore; and two cousins, Randy Lynn Milliron and Gary Cutlip. Marie Clulo
Marie Clulo, 87, died Tuesday, Sept. 5, 2000 at her daughter's home in Arlington, Texas. She was a retired sales clerk. She also volunteered for many years at the Senior Nutrition Center and the West Virginia University Hospital in Morgantown. She was a member of St. Maria Goretti Catholic Church and a member of the Leisure Club. She is survived by two daughters and a spouse, Nancy and James Barrett, and Joyce Steger, all of Arlington, Texas; a brother, Leslie Degler of Newburg, Va.; a sister; 10 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Wilfred Clulo; four brothers; and a great-grandchild. A Memorial Mass will be at 10 a.m. Monday, Sept. 11 at St. Maria Goretti Catholic Church, Arlington. Joy Ellen Rimlinger
Memorial services for Joy Ellen Rimlinger, 83, of Springboro, Ohio, formerly of Morgantown, who died Wednesday, Feb. 23, 2000, are set for Saturday, Sept. 9. The first memorial service, by the Human Gift Registry, will be at 2 p.m. at the Outdoor Garden of West Virginia University Health Sciences Center. The second service will be at 5 p.m. at Sabra United Methodist Church, 1234 Richwood Ave., Morgantown. Following the service, a birthday supper in honor of the deceased will be in the basement of the Sabra Methodist Church. She graduated from Morgantown High School. She retired after 30 years with Morgan Shirt Factory. She was a member of Sabra United Methodist Church, Morgantown, and attended First United Church of Springboro. She is survived by two sons and spouses, Martin Regis and Diana Lee McCartney Rimlinger, and David Michael and Syble Jean Owen Rimlinger; three grandchildren, Michele Renee O'Neal, Darlene Faith and Kristofer Lyn; two great-grandchildren, Brandon Michael Rimlinger and Mallory Faith O'Neal; two nieces, Jean Hitchens and Barbara Martin; and seven nephews, John Cobun, Lee Cobun, James Cobun, George Bill Berry, Martin Berry, Jack Berry and Albert Cokie O'Haver. Elsie B. Rudd
Elsie B. Rudd, 91, of Bruceton Mills, died Wednesday, Sept. 6, 2000 at home. She was born July 13, 1909, in Bruceton Mills, daughter of the late G.M. "Dick" and Mary Eva Silbaugh Benson. She was a landscape artist and operated Benson's Nursery. She is survived by a daughter and spouse, Betty Jane and Gayle Lawson, of Bruceton Mills; a grandson, Larry Lawson, of Morgantown; two great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandson; and a nephew, Richard Benson II, of Ocola, Fla. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Alfred A. Rudd; and a brother, Sen. Richard Benson. Friends may call at the Carl R. Roger D. Wilkins Sr.
Roger D. "Hoppy" Wilkins Sr., 57, of Arthurdale, died Thursday, Nov. 30, 2000, in Kingwood. He was born July 16, 1943, in Arthurdale, son of Goldie Fulk Wilkins, of Arthurdale, and the late Chester Wilkins. He started working at the age of 15 at Sterling Farms. He was a dedicated 34-year employee of the York Bronze Co. in Kingwood, and was recognized for his attendance and service. He is also survived by his wife of 25 years, Patty Croston Wilkins; a son, Roger D. Wilkins Jr., of Independence; two daughters, Pamela Wilkins, of Arthurdale and Michelle Wilkins, of Reedsville; two brothers, Chester Wilkins, of Arthurdale and John Wilkins, of Morgantown; two sisters, Marlene Wilkins, of Great Falls, Va., and Wilma Wolfe, of Newburg; a grandson, Douglas Johnson; and 17 nieces and nephews. James Donald Madden
James Donald "Don" Madden, 69, of Hillwood Drive, Morgantown, died Wednesday, Nov. 29, 2000, at Ruby Memorial Hospital. He was born March 25, 1931, in Morgantown, son of the late James and Ruth Taylor Madden. He was a member of St. Theresa's Roman Catholic Church. He was retired from the City of Morgantown Street Department after 28 years of service. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus. He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Julie Madden; three daughters and spouses, Elaine and William DeBerry, of Charlotte, N.C., Donna and Ernie Colsmann, of Morgantown, and Francy and David Hoff, of Indian Trail, N.C.; a son and spouse, James Donald II and Janet Madden, of Richmond, Va.; four sisters, Sarah Knisell, Roseann Clark, Deloris Sanders, all of Morgantown, and Peggy Allen, of Maidsville; and seven grandchildren, Matthew and Lindsay DeBerry, Mackenzie and Mallory Colsmann, and Katie, John an d Kristina Hoff. Anthony J. Estep
Anthony Joseph Estep, 90, of New Martinsville, died Nov. 29, 2000, at Sistersville Rehabilitation Facility. He was born Oct. 6, 1910, in Proctor, a son of the late John Roman "J.R." Estep and Catherine Coleman Estep. He was owner of the Southern States Store, "Estep's Farm Supply," in New Martinsville for 30 years. He was Wetzel County Commissioner for six years (1977-82). He was a charter member of Grandview Ambulance Association. He was an active life member of St. Joseph Settlement Parish in Proctor, was first Lay Eucharistic Minister of St. Joseph, was a member of Holy Name Society, Knights of Columbus, Catholic Layman's Retreat League and the Wetzel County Farm Bureau. He is survived by a sister and spouse Mary and Phillip Klug, of Moundsville; a daughter and spouse, Mary Rose and Larry W. Yoho, of Proctor; seven sons and spouses, Dave and Marlene Longwell Estep, Jack and Ruth Ankrum Estep, Bill and Ann Null Estep and Greg and Anita Asher Estep, all of New Martinsville, Ray and Peggy West Estep, Mike and Joan Hartwell Estep, and Doug and Suzanne Scully Estep, all of Proctor; 23 grandchildren; and 31 great-grandchildren. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Beulah Mary Herrick Estep; three brothers, Clem, John and William Estep; two sisters, Clara Tuttle and Cecilia Smith; and two grandchildren, Holly Lynn Yoho and Patricia Beulah Yoho. Richard Earl Barr
Richard Earl Barr, 45, of Daybrook, died Thursday, Nov. 30, 2000, at home. He was born Jan. 21, 1955, in Morgantown, son of Grace Eddy Barr, of Daybrook, and the late Glenn Barr. He was employed as a carpenter and auto body repairman. He is survived by two sons, Tommy Joe Barr, of Morgantown, and Richard Glenn Barr, of McCurdysville; his ex-wife, Gwendolyn B. Barr, of McCurdysville; five brothers, Glenn Norman Barr Jr., of Bellaire, Ohio, Robert LeRoy Barr, Dempsey Ray Barr and Daniel Craig Barr, all of Daybrook, and Charles Keith Barr, of Hazlet, N.J.; four sisters, Ellen Wright, of Sophia, N.C., Connie R. Bessie Summers
A memorial service for Bessie Summers, 89, of Unity Manor, Morgantown, will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 2, at Church of Christ on Madigan Avenue, with the Rev. Karl McLarty officiating. She died Wednesday, Oct. 4, 2000, at MonPointe Continuing Care Facility. She was born Feb. 25, 1911, in Palestine, daughter of the late Frank and Mary Buck Lockhart. She attended Spruce Street United Methodist Church. She was retired from O.J. Morrison Department Store in 1974. She is survived by two daughters and spouse, Patricia and Joseph May, of Westover, and Nancy Summers, of Alexandria, Va.; a daughter-in-law, Joan Biafore Summers, of Columbia, Mo.; two brothers, Russell Lockhart, of Vienna, and Roy Lockhart, of Downey, Calif.; a sister and spouse, Hilda and Saul Friendlander; 12 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by her husband, William Clair Summers; a son, Dr. James C. Summers; three brothers, Glen Lockhart, Carroll Lockhart, and Arlie Lockhart; and two sisters, Mrs. C.R. (Audrey) Blake, and Mrs. Robert (Hazel) Andeway. Cremation services were provided by Hastings Funeral Home.

Mary Edra Pyles
Mary Edra Pyles, 87, of Pleasant Acres, Norway Community, formerly of Klondike Lane, Fairview, died Thursday, Nov. 30, 2000, at Fairmont General Hospital. She was born Dec. 3, 1912, in Fairview, daughter of the late James Blande and Leota McCord Tennant. She was a former employee of the Monongalia County Board of Education, employed as a Head Start aide and a cook. She was a member of Washington Street Church of Christ, Fairview, and a member of Cross Roads Needle Club for more than 50 years. She is survived by a son, Richard D. Pyles, of Sanford, N.C.; two daughters, Bonnie Swisher, of Fairview, and Donna Lynn Downes, of Westerville, Ohio; a sister, Irene Anderson, of Waynesburg, Pa.; 10 grandchildren, Robert and Patrick Downes, Beth and Luke Pyles, Charles, Douglas and Francis Swisher, Lisa Clelland, Jodi Swecker and Sandrine Brown; and 17 great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Shirley F. Pyles; a son, Albert Pyles; a daughter, Naomi Pyles; two brothers, James and Willie Tennant; and two sisters, Lula Tennant, and Irma Moore. Dias Tennant
Dias Tennant, 99, of Wadestown, died Wednesday, Nov. 29, 2000, in the Arbors at Fairmont Nursing Facility. He was born Oct. 6, 1901, in Burton, son of the late Dan L. and Elizabeth Shriver Tennant. He was a retired farmer. In his early years he worked at DuPont in Morgantown, and taught school in the Wadestown area. He was the last surviving member of the Wadestown High School Class of 1920. He was a member of the Independent Order of Odd Fellows, Crusader Lodge 422 of Wadestown, and the West Warren Baptist Church of Wadestown, where he served as a deacon and Sunday school teacher. He is survived by a nephew, James Berdine, of Moravian Falls, N.C. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Edna Six Tennant, on Jan. 25, 1997; a sister, Edna Berdine; and a brother in infancy. Friends may call at Tennant Funeral Home in Hundred from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Friday. Service will be 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 2, with Pastor Tim Brower officiating. Burial will be in Wadestown Cemetery.

William W. Woodrum
William "Bill" Walden Woodrum, 78, of Fairmont, died Friday, Dec. 1, 2000, at Fairmont General Hospital. He was born April 30, 1922, in Gallipolis, Ohio, son of the late Denver Paul and Ruth Morris Woodrum Sr. He retired from Westinghouse Electric in Fairmont as a manager in the quality control department. He worked in several management positions there. After his retirement, he returned to work for North American Philips as a consultant. He graduated from high school in Charleston, and from West Virginia University with a degree in chemical engineering. He served two years in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Fairmont. He was a member and past president of the Fairmont Lions Club. He was a member of the West Virginia Society of Professional Engineers, the West Virginia University Alumni Association and the Elks Lodge in Fairmont. He is survived by a daughter and spouse, Susan and Robert L. O'Donnell, of Virginia Beach, Va.; a brother and spouse, Joel and Patty Woodrum, of Winfield; three grandchildren, Robert Lee O'Donnell Jr., Ryan William O'Donnell and Scott Thomas O'Donnell, all of Virginia Beach; a niece; four nephews; and a loving family friend, Phillis Mills, of Fairmont. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Elsie Radford Woodrum; and a brother, Denver Paul Woodrum Jr. Friends may call from 1-4 and 6-9 p.m. Sunday and 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Monday at Carpenter and Ford Funeral Home in Fairmont. Lena Marie Snider
Lena Marie Snider, 81, of Unity Manor, Morgantown, died Friday Dec. 1, 2000, at the Madison Rehabilitation and Nursing Center. She was born Nov. 12, 1919, in Morgantown, daughter of the late William and Pearl Shahan Coburn. She retired in 1982 from the Morgan Shirt Factory after 46 years of service. She was Methodist. She is survived by a son and spouse, Edward H. and Mary Ellen Snider, of Morgantown; three grandchildren and spouses, Elza C. Snider, Stanley J. and Debbie Snider, and Tammy Sue and Michael Boyce, all of of Morgantown; a brother, Arthur F. Coburn, of Weirton; and four sisters, June Zannotti, Elsie Hill, and Helen Goodwin, all of Morgantown, and Virginia P. Jones, of Orlando, Fla. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Elza Clark Snider; and two brothers, Clifford "Pete" Coburn, and Dr. William Carl Coburn. Charles Williams Jr.
Charles Williams Jr., 72, of Taylortown, Pa., formerly of Maidsville, died Wednesday, Nov. 29, 2000. He was born Oct. 2, 1928, in Everettville, son of the late Charles and Doar E. Champ Williams. He was a retired coal miner from Humphrey mine No. 7, a veteran of the Air Force and a member of UMWA Local 1058. He is survived by three daughters, Tracy Mayle, of Maidsville, Laura MacDougal, of Morgantown, and Carol J. Williams, of Johnstown, Pa.; two sons, Larry Williams and Gary Lee Williams, both of Maidsville; two brothers, Kenneth Williams, of Dilliner, Pa., and Leonard Williams, of Morgantown; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Gay William Dalton
Gay William Dalton, 86, of Summers School Road, Morgantown, died Thursday, Nov. 30, 2000, in Oakland, Md. He was born Jan. 26, 1914, in Morgantown, son of the late William and Lila Giles Dalton. He attended Burns Chapel United Methodist Church. He had been employed by both Greer Limestone and Deckers Creek Sand companies for more than 37 years until his retirement in 1971. He was a member of the Glass Blowers Union. He is survived by his wife of 69 years, Edith Mae Nicholson Dalton; two sons, Harry William Dalton, of Morgantown, and Dr. Dennis Wade Dalton, of Cape Coral, Fla.; a daughter, Helen Marie Dettori, of Palm City, Fla.; a brother, Jessie Dalton, of Morgantown; six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. He was also preceded in death by several brothers and sisters. Opal G. Lemley
Opal G. Lemley, 88, of Texas City, Texas, formerly of Morgantown, died Thursday Nov. 30, 2000, at Gulf Healthcare Center. She was born Sept. 29, 1912, in Littleton, daughter of the late John J. and Lydia Burgh Showalter. She was a homemaker. She is survived by a grandson, Ray Lemley, of Texas City; a brother, Woodrow Showalter, of Weirton; and a sister, Mary Macwahm. Gregory Lee Drazba
Gregory Lee Drazba, 54, of Murray Avenue, Fairmont, died Friday, Dec. 1, 2000, at home. He was born Oct. 4, 1946, in Fairmont, son of Felix Drazba, of Moorefield, and the late Juanita Davis Drazba. He was Protestant. He was a coal miner at Grant Town Mines for 10 years. He was also a member of the UMWA in Fairmont. He later was employed by Wise Potato Chips in Fairmont. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and golfing. He is also survived by a son and spouse, Christopher and Emily Virginia Drazba, of Orlando, Fla.; a daughter and spouse, Rene Ann and Paul Frame, of Annapolis, Md.; a brother and spouse, Randall and Rosalie Drazba, of Marion, Ohio; a sister and spouse, Stephanie and John Wilson, of Morgantown; a granddaughter, Alyssa Frame, of Annapolis; three nephews, Jeff Wilson, of Alexandria, Va., Robert Wilson, of Morgantown, and Casey Wilson, in Okinawa, Japan; a niece, Valerie Wilson, of Morgantown; and a stepmot her, Novella Drazba, of Moorefield. Helen D. Berkshire
Helen D. Berkshire, 86, formerly of Morgantown, died Saturday Dec. 2, 2000, in Monpointe Continuing Care Center. She was born Aug. 16, 1914, in Point Marion, Pa., daughter of the late Ira C. and Mae Francis Brewer. She was a homemaker and a member of Bethel Baptist Church at Halleck. She enjoyed bowling. She is survived by two sons and spouses, Louis and Dalice Berkshire, of Morgantown, and Robert and Mary Berkshire, of Dundalk, Md.; two daughters and spouses, Theresa and Bob Gemas, of Halleck, and Elizabeth Taylor Hovatter, of Independence; a brother and spouse, Ira and Pauline Brewer, of Point Marion; eight grandchildren and a great-grandson. Glen J. Sanney, 73, of Hundred, died Friday, Dec. 1, 2000, at the Carehaven of Pleasant, near St. Mary's. He was born July 14, 1927, in Burton, son of the late Clarence W. Sanney and Bertha Hixenbaugh. He was a member of Harmony Baptist Church in Burton, and was self-employed. He is survived by his wife, Ella Mae Sanney; five brothers, James Sanney, of New Freeport, Pa., Raymond Sanney, of Washington, Pa., Issac Sanney, of Hopewell, N.J., John Sanney, of Farmington, and Joseph Sanney, of New Martinsville; a half brother, Ron Hixenbaugh, of Minerva, Ohio; two sisters, Wilma Neer, of Core, and Elizabeth White, of Hundred; and four half sisters, Betty Higley, of Trenton, N.J., Linda Myers, of Warren, Ohio, Susan Debolt, of Wiley, and Helen Schmutz, of Salem, Ohio. Joy Lynn Gower
Joy Lynn Gower, 48, of Cedar Drive, Fairmont, died Saturday Dec. 2, 2000, at Fairmont General Hospital. She was born June 1, 1952, in Philippi, daughter of John "Jack" R. Huffman Sr., of Monongah, and the late Pearl I. Mick Huffman. She was a 28-year employee of the Marion County Health Department as an office clerk. She was recently elected president of the West Virginia Public Health Association, and served as past president of the Professional Clerical Section of the West Virgini a Public Health Association. She was president of Fairmont Handicap Society, and was a member of the Women's Junior League. She was Baptist. She is also survived by her husband, John Gower; a son, Michael John Gower, at home; and a brother and spouse, John R. and Goldie Huffman Jr., of Monongah. Friends may call at Domico Funeral Home, Fairmont, from 7-9 p.m. Sunday, from 11 a.m.-9 p.m. Monday, and from noon Tuesday, Dec. 5, until the 2 p.m. service with the Rev. Robert W. Tennant officiating. Burial will be in Shinnston Masonic Cemetery.

Erminia DeBlasio Phillips
Erminia "Erma" DeBlasio Phillips, 78, of Indiana Avenue, Fairmont, died Saturday, Dec. 2, 2000, at home. She was born March 9, 1922, in Fairmont, daughter of the late Achille and Maria Finamore DeBlasio. She was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, and a member of the Ladies Society of the church. She was a member of the Fairmont Catholic Golden Age, and was a former employee of Sauro's Cleaners. She is survived by her husband of 44 years, John Phillips; a daughter and spouse, Barbara Ann and Roger Hibbs, of Fairmont; two sisters and spouse, Susan D'Amico, of Fairmont, and Virginia and Joseph Merendino Sr., of Fairmont; and two grandsons, John and Brian Hibbs. She was also preceded in death by three brothers, Alfred, Raymond and Angelo DeBlasio. Friends may call at Domico Funeral Home, Fairmont, from 7-9 p.m. Sunday, and from 1-9 p.m. Monday. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Immaculate Conception Church at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 5, with the Rev. Casey Mahone as celebrant. Burial will be in Mount Carmel Cemetery. Vigil service will be in the funeral home at 8 p.m. Monday, with the Rev. Mahone officiating.

Charles Williams Jr.
Charles Williams Jr., 72, of Taylortown, Pa., formerly of Maidsville, died Wednesday, Nov. 29, 2000. He was born Oct. 2, 1928, in Everettville, son of the late Charles and Dora E. Champ Williams. Service will be at McCulla Funeral Home at 1 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 3, with the Rev. Ed Rowan officiating. Burial will be in Bethel Cemetery.

Tressie Gail Hennen
Tressie "Granny" Gail Hennen, 96, of Crossroads, died Saturday, Dec. 2, 2000, at home. She was born April 27, 1904, in Monongalia County, daughter of the late Jesse and Della Pitzer Cross. She was a member of the Crossroads Union Baptist Church. She is survived by three grandchildren and spouses, Randy and Juanita Hennen, Daryl and Linda Hennen, and Sharon White; nine great-grandchildren and spouses, Curtis and Melissa Riggs, Cristy Riggs, Carey Riggs, Riff Hennen, and his fiance, Theresa Spitznogle, Sarif Jo Hennen, Mindy Fox, Buck Hennen, Cole Hennen and Dirk Hennen; three great-great-grandchildren, Kayla Riggs, Kelcie Riggs and Bailey Riggs; and a sister-in-law, Dale Cross, of Washington, Pa. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Herald Hennen, on Sept. 23, 1966; a son and spouse, Robert E. and Jane E. Hennen; a brother, Ardis Cross; and a sister, Esta Howard.
