Jimmy Dale Faulkner, 47, of Mullensville, WV passed away Sunday December 7, 2008 at his home. He was born August 9, 1961 in Mullens, WV, a son of William Amos "Bill" and Peggy Lambert Faulkner of Itmann, WV. Jimmy was a former welder for Adams Manufacturing and a member of the Amigo Missionary Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his companion of eight years Carolyn Sue Graley and a nephew Brayden Chase Lester, his maternal grandparents Luther and Laura Bell Faulkner of Virginia, sisters-in-law Ruth Jane Faulkner of Cabin Creek, WV and Christina Faulkner and paternal grandparents Garrett and Cora Lambert. Survivors include two sons William Brandon Faulkner and wife Savannah of New Richmond, WV and Aaron Tyler Chase Faulkner of McGraw, WV; a grandchild due to be born in July 2009; ex-wife Cheryl Lynn Trump Faulkner of McGraw, WV; two sisters Connie Lester and husband Roger of New Richmond, WV and Bonnie Lester and husband Carl of Cabin Creek, WV; two brothers William David Faulkner of Itmann, WV and his ex-wife Diana Faulkner and Donald Ray Faulkner and his companion Patty Barns of Cabin Creek, WV and his daughter Amy Faulkner and her children Natasha and Cameron and her best friend Crystal Griggs; nephews Roger Lester II and wife Nina, Kevin Lester and wife Charity and their daughter Ember, Keith Lester and wife Sally and their children Sabrina and Kara, and Robert Hall and wife Alicia and their children Kayla and Ethan; along with a host of other loving family and friends. Graveside services will be held at Noon on Friday December 12, 2008 at the Jackson Curve cemetery on Route 10 near New Richmond, WV, with Rev. Micky Mitchell officiating. Ethen Ryan Adkins, 4 years old, of Oceana, WV, on Wednesday December 24, 2008 received his wings to go play in God's playground, in time to wish Jesus a happy birthday, at Charleston Area Medical Center Women and Children Hospital. He was born August 5, 2004 in Beckley, WV a son of Sabrina Dawn Adkins Sansom and Johnny Sansom, II of Oceana, WV. Ethen was a loving son and brother. Survivors also include his three loving brothers Jeremiah Dewayne Adkins, Dakota Lee "Cody" Adkins and Dillon Lee Sansom; grandparents Johnny and Derena Griffith of Welch-Pineville Road, Linda Adkins of McGraws, Johnny and Shirley Sansom of Cyclone, and Patty and Richard Stanley of Beckley; great grandmother Peggy Adkins of McGraws; nine aunts and uncles, many cousins and a host of other loving family and friends. Martha Maynard Osborne, 92, of Oceana, WV, went home to be with the Lord on Friday November 28, 2008 at Raleigh General Hospital, Beckley, WV. She was born September 15, 1916 in Boone County, WV, the daughter of the late Scott and Lottie Bailey Maynard.
She was a homemaker and a member of the Pentecostal House of Prayer. She was also preceded in death by her husband James Reggie Osborne; two daughters Athlene Hicks and Jearldine Blankenship; two sons Teddy Blankenship and Wannielee Blankenship and a daughter-in-law Karen Sue Blankenship. Survivors include two sons Jerry "Bear" Blankenship and wife Claire of Oceana, WV and Freddy Blankenship of Oceana, WV; a brother Carl Maynard and wife Phyllis of Cambridge, OH; 20 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren; and a host of other loving family and friends. William David Stafford, 66, of Fanrock, WV went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday November 26, 2008 surrounded by his loving family at Raleigh General Hospital, Beckley, WV. He was born August 12, 1942 in Fanrock, WV a son of the late John and Ruby Reed Stafford. David was a retired coal miner, member of the New Hope Church on Indian Creek and a member of the UMWA.
He was a US Army Veteran. His brother Paul Edgar Stafford also preceded him in death. Survivors include his loving wife Virginia Faye Belcher Stafford; three children Dickie Brown and wife Carol of Plattsburgh, NY, Jerry Brown and wife Carmie of Mooresville, NC and Greg Brown and wife Jennifer of West Palm, FL; two sisters Sylvia Stone and husband Ted of Brookpark, OH and Judy Morgan and husband Charles of Fanrock, WV; two brothers Ronnie Stafford and wife Helen of Daniels, WV and Johnny Stafford and wife Gwen of Columbia Station, OH; two grandchildren Scott and wife Anika and Nicholas and wife Nicole; four great grandchildren Scotty, Noah, Gabe and Alexis; and a host of other loving family and friends. Sherry Cline Tilley, 45, of Pineville, WV passed away Friday November 7, 2008 at Marietta Memorial Hospital, Marietta, Ohio. Sherry was born October 27, 1963 in Cleveland, Ohio a daughter of Roy Cline of Indian Creek, WV and Charla Cline of Beaver, WV. She was a loving mother and a graduate of Pineville High School. She was preceded in death by her husband Brian Keith Graybeal, step-father Jackie Ray Tilley and brother-in-law Barry Graybeal. Mabel Louisa Blevins Testerman, 82, of Lynco, WV went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday November 18, 2008 at Heartland of Beckley surrounded by her loving family. She was born February 11, 1926 in Ash County, North Carolina, a daughter of the late Dent and Nolia Church Blevins. Mabel was a loving wife and mother, a member of the Toneda Baptist Church, attended the Oceana Freewill Baptist Church, a member of the Rebekah Lodge and had lived in Wyoming County for 62 years. Her husband Joseph Thurman Testerman also preceded her in death along with her step-father Cleve Smith; a brother Ulas Blevins; two sisters Bonnie Lambert and Blonnie Blevins; and a step grandson Jamie Arnold. She loved spending time with her grandchildren, any kind of flowers, listening to gospel music, Charles Stanley and Joel Osteen. Cora Lee Stamey Harvey, 84, of Lynco, WV, passed away Sunday November 2, 2008 at Raleigh General Hospital, Beckley, WV. Cora Lee was born June 14, 1924 in Morganton, North Carolina, a daughter of the late Walter and Elsie Stamey.
She was a homemaker and a member of the Kopper City Bottom Full Gospel Tabernacle. Her loving husband James Howard Harvey, a daughter Debra Lee "Debbie" Belcher and two brothers Roy and Carl Stamey also preceded her in death.
Survivors include a daughter Eloise Thomas and husband Ira of Burnsville, NC; a sister Wyonnie Clark of Morganton, NC; two granddaughters Tina Matelski and husband Dennis and Sheryl Giganti and husband Vincent, IV; a great grandson Vincent Giganti, V; several sister and brother-in-laws, nieces, nephews and a host of other loving family and friends. Johnathan "Browning" Johnson, 31, of Lynco, WV, passed away Tuesday November 4, 2008 in Pennsylvania from injuries sustained in an automobile accident. He was born August 18, 1977 in Man, WV, a son of Curtis "Bud" Browning, Jr. of Clay, WV and Donna Johnson Fox of Kissimmee, FL. Johnathan was a coal truck driver and a 1995 graduate of Oceana High School. Survivors also include his step-mother Missy Browning of Clay, WV; grandparents Curtis and Betty Browning of Oceana, Arvis Johnson of Oceana and Bertha Taylor of Kissimmee, FL; a sister Tonya Ortega of Chicago, IL; a brother Cory Browning and wife Alina of Kissimmee, FL; two nieces Aja Browning and Maricel Ortega; a nephew Julian Dewey; uncle and aunt Randy and Tina Browning of Oceana, aunt and uncle Delores and Larry Arbogast of Bluff City, TN; cousins Natasha "Tash" Browning Cook of Fairdale, WV, Holly Runyon of Oceana and her children Kameron, Konnor and Kahne; and a host of other loving family and friends. Alta A. "Penny" Brown, 60, of Mallory, WV, went home to be with the Lord on Monday October 13, 2008 Genesis Health Care's Logan Center after a short illness. Penny was born April 7, 1948 in Detroit, Michigan. She was a beloved daughter of the late George and Mary Rinas Brown. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister Mary Ann Brown; an infant brother Danny Brown and her brother-in-law Donald Lee Davis. Those left to cherish the memory of Alta "Penny" are her loving sister Cheryl Ann Davis of North Spring, WV; four brothers George Brown and wife Brenda of Tecumseh, Michigan, James, Timothy and Linde Brown all of North Spring, WV; and a host of nieces, nephews, other family and friends. Robert Anthony "Tony" Blevins, 30, of Matheny, WV, returned to heaven on October 16, 2008. Tony was born December 8, 1977 in Welch, WV. His paternal grandparents Thomas and Wilmeth Blevins preceded him in death. He was a welder. Survivors include his loving father Douglas R. Blevins of Matheny; a sister Suzziee Crouse and her husband Mickey and their children Kissie and Buddy; his two children Madison and Jacob; his fiancée Georgia Toler; two step-children Avery Toler and wife Jennifer and Adam Toler and wife Tiffany; three grandbabies Emily Brooke, Brock and Adam Jr..

Larry Junior Burghy, 55, of Oceana, WV, passed away on Thursday October 2, 2008 surrounded by his loving family. Larry was born January 28, 1953 in Canton, Ohio, a son of the late Ralph Russell and Ruth Magalene Tucker Burghy. He was a former gravedigger and of the Christian faith having attended the Indian Creek Community Church. He was also preceded in death by a brother Davy Burghy, step-son Bobby Long and his first wife Betty Belcher Burghy. Survivors include his loving wife of 11 years Evelyn Kay Rose Burghy; two daughters Mary Adkins and husband Clark and Tanya McClung and husband Tommy all of North Carolina; six step-children Laura Mellon and husband Mike of Kopperston, Russell Long and Kevin Long and wife Karen all of Ohio, Jeanny Coleman and husband Thomas of Oceana, Tony Trent of Mullens and Alec Thornsbury and wife Kristi of Greenville, WV; three sisters Bonnie Batich and husband Paul of Florida, Diane Gerarg and Becky Burghy both of Ohio; a brother Denny Burghy of Ohio; fifteen grandchildren; special friends Chelsea Westfall, Darlene Hurley and Larry Stafford; several nieces and nephews and a host of other loving family and friends. James Clyde "Jim" Pennington, 87, of Oceana, WV went home to be with the Lord on Monday September 22, 2008 at Beckley Appalachian Regional Hospital. Jim was born November 12, 1920 in Kellysville, WV, a son of the late Edward G. and Minnie Elizabeth Scott Pennington. He was a retired coal miner having worked at Eastern Gas & Coal for 42 years at the Kopperston mine. Jim was a founding member of the Oceana First Church of God where he served 48 years as treasurer and started the bus ministry, he was also a member of the U.M.W.A. Jim served the town of Oceana for many years as a councilman, a former mayor and a founder of the Oceana Volunteer Fire Department. He was a U.S. Army Veteran having served in World War II and a member of the VFW. His four sisters Josephine Clemson, Gretchen Jarrell, Envah Hager and Janice Cordle also preceded him in death along with two brothers Edwin L. Pennington and Chaunce T. Pennington.
Left to cherish Jim's memory are his loving wife of 62 years Maudie L. Pennington; a son James E. Pennington and wife Denise of Clinton, TN; two daughters Carolyn A. Childers and husband Charles of Axton, VA and Tammy G. Walker and husband Rob of Ft. Walton Beach, FL; a sister Bernice Tincher of Princeton, WV; five grandchildren James Chad Pennington and wife Mary Robin, Andrea M. Pennington, Chuck Childers, Jimmy Childers and Morgan E. Walker; four great grandchildren Jameson Cole and Robert Luke Pennington, Tamara LaShay and Jacob Malcom Childers; along with a host of other loving family and friends. Services at the Oceana First Church of God on Thursday September 25, 2008 are set as family visitation from 5 - 6:00 PM, a celebration service will begin at 6:00 PM followed by a final viewing for the family and friends, with Pastors William Wagner, Charles Childers, Randy Bowles and Vondie L. Cook, Sr. officiating. The family will gather with friends in the fellowship hall of the church after the final viewing. Family and friends will meet for graveside services at 11:00 AM on Friday September 26, 2008 at Roselawn Memorial Gardens, Princeton, WV, there will be no procession to the cemetery. The Wyoming County Honor Guard will conduct Military Graveside Rites. Charles Perry "Charlie" Williams, 68, of Fanrock, WV, went home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Saturday September 20, 2008 at the Bower's Hospice House in Beckley following a long and courageous battle with cancer. Charlie was born May 15, 1940 at Fanrock, West Virginia a son of the late Glen and Leola Lusk Williams. He was a retired coal miner having worked for several different mines but mostly at Capels, a member of the UMWA and also worked at the Wyoming County Courthouse for 9 1/2 years. Charlie was of the Protestant Faith. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, working on automobiles, gardening and spending time with his family and friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters Sami Lambert of Ohio and Susie Aliff of Fanrock; his father-in-law Grover Shaw of Welch; three very special aunts Beulah Hodges, Ruth Stone and Rhada Marrs; and a special cousin Faye Adams. Those left to cherish Charlie's memory are his loving wife of 29 years Brenda Shaw Williams; two sons Lesley Williams of South Carolina and John Williams and wife Autumn of Beckley; a daughter, in whom he referred to as his baby, Melissa Williams and her companion Tracy Vance of Fanrock; two brothers David Williams and wife Edith of Itmann and Glen Williams and wife Millie of Lynco; a sister Diane Acord and husband Steve of Pineville; three grandchildren C.J. Williams, Garett Williams and Madison Williams; along with a host of nieces, nephews and other loving family and friends.

Ronald Adkins officiating, along with Bro. Bob Berkhead and Bro. Mike Willams assisting. Charlie will be laid to rest in the Jackson cemetery on Indian Creek. Rev. Bob "Robert" Varney, 76, of Oceana, WV went home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus on Friday September 12, 2008 at the Beckley Veterans Administration Medical Center. Bob was born September 23, 1931 in Huddy, Kentucky a son of Aline Blackburn Varney of Lillydale, WV and the late Ballard Varney. Bob was the former owner of Duds and Suds Laundry in Oceana, and the former Keystone Service Station and Esso Service Station both in Pineville. He was a U.S. Army World War II Veteran, a member of the Oceana Freewill Baptist Church for 28 years, served as Pastor at the Mill Creek Freewill Baptist Church for 10 years and served as Pastor of the Mount Carmel Freewill Baptist Church for several years. He was also preceded in death by a brother Randy Varney, a sister Patsy Vint and an infant sister Lulabelle Varney; several good friends Raymond Miller, Lacy Davis, Dennis Allen, Carlos Cook, Eve Hutchinson, Lillian Bradford, Rev. Otis Hensley, John Lambert, Ernest Barley, Bill Harvey and Otis Cook. Survivors include his loving wife of 53 years Lucille Acord Varney; two daughters Anita Hood and husband Terry of Oceana and Carol Tucker and husband Ron of Maxwelton, WV; a special son Robert Varney, Jr. of Oceana; a special granddaughter Ashley Hood and companion A.J. Lester of Crouches Farm; three brothers Gayle Varney and wife Norma of Lynco, Roger Varney and David Varney both of Lillydale; loving nieces and nephews; a host of special friends including Philip and Jan Alfrey, the Vint family, Ron Altizer, Rev. Geneva Blankenship Cole, 73, of Lillydale, WV, passed away Thursday February 19, 2009 at CAMC General Division Hospital, Charleston, WV. Geneva was born February 25, 1935 in Clear Fork, WV, a daughter of the late Bruce and “Josie” Josephine Acord Blankenship. She was a homemaker and loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Her son Troy Lance Cole also preceded her in death, along with two brothers James Blankenship and William Cook; a sister Margie Rowe and her mother-in-law Vera Tilley Cole.
Survivors include her loving husband of 58 years Alvin Cole; a daughter Betty Jean Cline and husband Rocky of Oceana, WV; two sons Ivan Cole and wife Toni and Marvin Cole and wife Rhonda all of Oceana, WV; five grandchildren Troy Lance Berta, Aaron Stafford, Logan Cole, Melinda Cline and Stephanie Gibson; two great grandchildren Candace Gibson and Tyler Gibson; two sisters Kathleen Hatfield and husband Eugene of Coal Mountain, WV and Patsy Benjamin of Oceana, WV; three brothers Holly Blankenship and wife Ethel of Sunhill, WV, Robert Blankenship and wife Shirley of Lillydale, WV and Sam Blankenship and wife Freda of Crouches Farm, WV; along with a host of other loving family and friends.
Funeral services will be at 1:00 PM Monday February 23, 2009 at the Chapel of Stafford Family Funeral Home in Lynco with Rev. James Walker officiating. Geneva will be laid to rest in Palm Memorial Gardens, Matheny, WV. Friends may call from 11:00 AM until service time on Monday at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be family and friends. Letters of sympathy may be sent to Stafford Family Funeral Home.. The family is being served by the Stafford Family Funeral Home, Lynco, WV.
