Billie Wayne Hatfield, 41, of Rockhouse, WV, passed away on Wednesday June 4, 2008 at his home. Billie was born January 6, 1967 in Logan, WV a son of Janet Marie Adams Miller of Brenton, WV and the late Billie Hatfield. He was a self employed carpenter.
His two brothers Floyd Douglas "Doug" Hatfield and Jamie Miller also preceded him in death. Survivors along with his mother include his wife Myrlene Hatfield; two daughters Alisha Dawn Hatfield of Oceana, WV and Terri Anna Marie Hatfield Crouse of Kopperston, WV; four step-daughters Angela Nicole Webb of Kopperston, WV, Reva Lester and husband Willie of Steeles, WV, Priscilla Toler and husband Scottie of Coal Mountain, WV and Misty Miranda Lester and husband Dougie of Rose Branch, WV; three sisters Debroah Ann Hatfield of Bumpass, VA, Rebecca Sue Farley and husband James of Ocean City, MD and Janette Marie Lester and husband Mart of Oceana, WV; a brother Bruce Edward Hutchinson; step-father James A. Miller, Jr. of Brenton, WV; step-mother Sue Beatley of Alexandria, VA; several grandchildren and a special grandson Makellan Hurley and a host of other loving family and friends. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM Sunday June 8, 2008 at the Chapel of Stafford Family Funeral Home, Lynco, WV, with Rev. Tommy Knotts officiating. Billie will be laid to rest with his brothers in Adams cemetery, Rockhouse, WV.

Brayden Chase Lester, of New Richmond, WV, newborn son of
Roger Ray and Nina Dawn Morgan Lester, II, received his angel wings on Wednesday May 28, 2008 at Raleigh General Hospital for his journey to play in God's playground. Brayden was preceded in death by his great grandparents Henry C. and Marie Lester, Raymond and Hazel Morgan and Louise Proffitt. Survivors include his loving parents Roger Ray and Nina Dawn Morgan Lester, II, of New Richmond, WV; grandparents Roger and Connie Lester of New Richmond, WV and Larry and Patty Morgan of Oceana, WV; great grandparents William and Peggy Faulkner of Itman, WV and Firg and Rose Proffitt of Oceana, WV; two uncles Larry "Duke" Morgan, Jr. and wife Samantha of Kopper City Bottom, WV and Joshua Morgan and wife Sara of Fairmont, WV; seven cousins Alexandria, LaRissa, Rebecca, Dylan and Abigail Morgan and Justice and Lukie Mitchell; along with a host of other loving family and friends. Funeral services will be held at 7:00 PM Friday May 30, 2008 at the Coal Mountain Community Church with Ministers Larry "Duke" Morgan and Joshua Morgan officiating. Friends may call from 6 - 9:00 PM Friday at the church. Committal service will be held at noon on Saturday May 31, 2008 at the Miltie Morgan cemetery, Long Branch, WV. Mary Elizabeth "Bay" Stafford, 84, of Pax, WV, formerly of Oceana, went to heaven to be with her husband Bill on Wednesday May 21, 2008 at Raleigh General Hospital, Beckley, WV. She was born March 6, 1924 in Wyoming County, WV, a daughter of the late Robert and Jennie Cook Womack. Mary was a member of the Oceana Freewill Baptist Church for about 49 years and had attended the Maynard Freewill Baptist Church the last 10 years. Bay was a homemaker who loved her children, grandchildren and pets with all her heart. She and her husband Bill loved going to church and talking about the goodness of God. Her loving husband William Edward "Bill" Stafford and her son-in-law Dale Elswick also preceded her in death along with a sister Ruth Ratliff and two brothers Roy Bill and Woodrow Womack. Survivors include a daughter Rosemary Elswick of Pax, WV; a son William Joe Stafford and wife Nancy of Savannah, GA; two sisters Rema Jones of Chillicothe, OH and Gloria "Mutt" Prichard and husband Earl of Oceana, WV; two grandsons Benny Shawn Stafford and wife Eunice of Morgantown, WV and Bryan Scott Stafford and wife Tracy of Kopperston, WV; two step-granddaughters Robin Elswick of Lincolnton, NC and Rachel Turner of Savannah, GA; a step-grandson Robert Allen Turner and wife Alison of Dresden, TN; three great grandchildren Ben Stafford of Daniels, WV and Kyra and Sylvie Stafford of Morgantown, WV; seven step great grandchildren D.A. Raines and Makayla Meadows both of Kopperston, WV, Zachary and Alana Turner of Savannah, GA, David and Joey Elswick of Lincolnton, NC and Alexandria Starling of Statesboro, GA; a special care giver Betty McCallahan who she loved as a daughter; her family pets Pepper, Chloe, Toby and Hobo; a host of nieces, nephews and many other family and friends. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM Sunday May 25, 2008 at the Oceana Freewill Baptist Church. Mary will be laid to rest beside her loving husband Bill in Palm Memorial Gardens, Matheny, WV. Friends may call from 6 - 9:00 PM Saturday May 24, 2008 at the church and one hour prior to the service. Carl Dean Lane, 57, of Brenton, WV passed away Tuesday May 13, 2008. He was born July 24, 1951 in Wyoming County, WV a son of the late Lee and Credith Justice Lane. He was a coal miner and logger. Carl was also preceded in death by his wife Kathy Lane; two brothers Charles Edward "Eddie" Lane and Roger Lane; and a sister Christine Milam. Survivors include three daughters Charlene Justice and husband Zeb of Cabin Creek, WV, Freda Lane and Debbie Lane both of Brenton, WV; five sons Jimmy, Joe, Dennis, Darrell and Eugene Lane all of Brenton, WV; four sisters Thelma Stacy and husband Jerry of Virginia, Wonidith Lane of Oceana, WV, Darlene Stacy of Brenton, WV and Nadean Hurley and husband Jimmy of Brenton, WV; two brothers Billy Lane and wife Caroline of Brenton, WV and Harold Lane of Brenton, WV; and a hsot of other loving family and friends. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM Friday May16, 2008 in the Chapel of Stafford Family Funeral Home, Lynco, WV. Carl will be laid to rest in Palm Memorial Gardens, Matheny, WV. Lora Opal "Aunt Lo" Cline, 84, of Lynco, WV, passed away Saturday May 10, 2008 at Raleigh General Hospital, Beckley, WV. She was born November 11, 1923 a daughter of the late Scott and Viola Belcher Bishop. She was a homemaker, loving mother and the widow of Raymond Cline. In addition to her husband and parents she was preceded in death by eight sisters Zora M. Linville, Ora and Nellie Stewart, Stella Lyall, Flora, Corby, Holline and Sharlene Bishop and one brother Corbit Bishop. Survivors include a son Keith Raymond Cline of Lynco, WV; two sisters Erna L. Gibson and husband Clarence "Buck" and Nancy Lorene Lusk all of Lynco, WV; a brother Chester "Chess" Bishop of Beanstation, TN; her loving companion, her cat Patches; and a host of other loving family and friends. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM Tuesday May 13, 2008 at the Chapel of Stafford Family Funeral Home, Lynco with Rev. Eugene Cook and Bro. Steve Cassell officiating. She will be laid to rest beside her husband in Palm Memorial Gardens, Matheny, WV. Pallbearers will be Joe Cassell, Johnny Cline, Earl Foster, Thomas Toler and Donald "Goldwater" Gibson. Raymond Miller, 74, of Oceana, WV lost the battle with cancer, but received his wings on Monday May 12, 2008 at Raleigh General Hospital, Beckley, WV. He was born January 19, 1934 in Cyclone, WV, a son of the late Cleophas and Dollie Maynor Miller. Raymond was a member of the Oceana Freewill Baptist Church and a foreman for 30 plus years at Eastern Associated Coal Company's Kopperston Mine. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by three sisters Elsie Smith, Garnet Miller and Ruby Miller; six brothers Nathan, Maxwell, Troy, Estel, Junior and Arbry Miller, Raymond was the last survivor of his immediate family. Survivors include his loving daughter Sherry Bailey and husband Gene of Sunhill, WV and a loving son Ray Miller with whom he made his home; a grandson Eugene Bailey and wife Miranda and a very special great granddaughter Jaiden Bailey; many nieces and nephews; and a host of other loving family and friends. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM Thursday May 15, 2008 in the Chapel of Stafford Family Funeral Home, Lynco, WV with the Rev. Jackie Grimmitt officiating. Raymond will be laid to rest in Palm Memorial Gardens, Matheny, WV. Friends may call from 6 - 9:00 PM Wednesday at the funeral home. The family is being served by the Stafford Family Funeral Home.

Randy V. Gibson, 46, of Myrtle Beach, SC, formerly of Oceana, WV passed away Sunday April 27, 2008 at his home. He was born July 18, 1961 in Beckley, WV, a son of the late Andrew H. and Kathleen Toler Gibson. Randy was a 1979 graduate of Oceana High School and attended Concord College, WV Tech and Glenville State. He enjoyed sports and hearing or reading about news from back home. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister Carol, a brother Roger, three nieces Lori Hill, Stephanie Cline and Trona Gibson and a nephew Brett Gibson. He is survived by four brothers Dewey and wife Cindy of VA, Bill "Dink" and wife Wanda of Oceana, WV, Herman and wife Jill of Beckley, WV, Leonard and wife Connie of Oceana, WV; six sisters Bertha Hill and husband Harold of Glen Fork, WV, Vita Reed and husband Walt of FL, Aloma Bowden and husband Tracy of Oceana, WV, Sue Cline and husband Butch of TN, Debbie Kennedy and husband Terry of SC, and Trona Harrison and husband Randy of VA; several nieces and nephews; two special friends Ben and Oscar of Myrtle Beach, SC and a host of other loving family and friends. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 PM Friday May 2, 2008 at Palm Memorial Gardens Mausoleum, Matheny, WV. Randy will be laid to rest in Palm Memorial Gardens. James Clarence Brunk, Jr., 55, of Oceana, WV passed away Sunday May 4, 2008 at Raleigh General Hospital. James was born October 10, 1952 at Craney, WV, a son of Clyde Elizabeth Haga Brunk of Craney, WV and the late James Clarence Brunk. He was a disabled coal miner and a member of the UMWA. Along with his father he was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents Annie and Jim Atwood and maternal grandparents Jim and Ida Haga. Survivors include his loving wife Treasa Jean Martin Brunk; his mother Clyde Elizabeth Haga Brunk of Craney, WV; four step children Audrey Ann, Pandy, Mark and Matt; an aunt Stella Riley of Virginia and a host of other loving family and friends. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Thursday May 8, 2008 in the Chapel of Stafford Family Funeral Home, Lynco, WV with the Rev. Oza Mullens, Jr. officiating. James will be laid to rest in Kopperston Community cemetery. Friends may call from 6 - 9:00 PM Wednesday at the funeral home. The family is being served by the Stafford Family Funeral Home, Lynco, WV.

Elmer Warn Osborne, 85, of Kopper City Bottom, WV went to be with the Lord on Thursday April 24, 2008 at his home following a long illness. He was born October 16, 1922 at Curtis, WV a son of the late Randolph and Sarah Elizabeth Cook Osborne. He was of the Christian Faith, a member of the UMWA and a retired coal miner. Elmer enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, Ginsenging and spending time with his family. His wife of 58 years Ruth B. Lusk Osborne preceded him in death along with a son Alton J. Osborne, seven brothers, five sisters and a daughter-in-law Ruth I. Osborne. Survivors include three sons Roger and Sue Osborne of Kopper City Bottom, WV, Warner and Quindora Osborne of Accoville, WV and Otis and Linda Osborne of Lundale, WV; a brother Waitman Osborne of Columbus, OH; eleven grandchildren; eighteen great grandchildren; three great great grandchildren; a special caregiver Vicki Lamb and a host of other loving family and friends.
Funeral services will be held at noon Sunday April 27, 2008 at the Lillyhaven Baptist Church with Rev. William Cook officiating. Elmer will be laid to rest beside his wife in Palm Memorial Gardens, Matheny, WV. Friends may call from 6 - 9:00 PM Saturday April 26, 2008 at the church. Family members will serve as pallbearers. The family is being served by the Stafford Family Funeral Home, Lynco, WV.

Virginia "Bus" Ellis Bailey, 93, of Ramey Addition, Pineville, WV went to be with the Lord at McDowell Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Gary, WV on Sunday March 16, 2008. She was born August 29, 1914 in Logan County, WV a daughter of the late Joe and Zettie Allen Ellis. She was also preceded in death by her husband Arnold Bailey; two sons Bill and Charles Bailey; a son-in-law Richard "Dutch" Hudson; and three sisters Madeline Clay, Lillian Fortner and Maudie Ellis. Those left to cherish her memory are two daughters Janet Bailey of Pineville, WV and Sandra Hudson of Oak Harbor, OH; a son Jerry Bailey and wife Linda of Ashland, KY; four grandsons Rod Hudson and wife Neelam of Lewis Center, OH, Robert Lee Bailey of Fishers, IN, Phil Bailey and wife Tami of Houston, TX, and Marc Bailey and wife Pam of Hopkinsville, KY; a granddaughter Carla Wright and husband John of Prestonsburg, KY; daughter-in-law Nancy Bailey of Fishers, IN; special neice Sally Mitchell of Marianna, WV; nine special great grandchildren Priya and Vikram Hudson, Andrew, Ethan, Jake, Cooper, Eric and Johnathan Bailey and Jada Wright; special to her was a great great nephew Gregory Mitchell; and a hsot of other loving family and friends. Memorial services will be held at 1:00 PM Wednesday March 19, 2008 at the Chapel of Stafford Family Funeral Home, Lynco with Rev. Arnold Harless and Rev. Ron Harvey officiating. Friends will be received from noon until service time today at the funeral home.

Virginia "Maw" Cook, 79, of Toney Fork, WV, passed away Friday March 14, 2008 following a short illness. She entered into the presence of her Lord surrounded by her family. She was born May 31, 1928 in Mullens, WV the
daughter of the late Arthur and Ella Billings of Ostego, WV. "Maw" was a member of the Lillyhaven Baptist Church. She enjoyed quilting, sewing and attending church. She also enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Algie Dewey Cook, a grandson James Joseph Cook, three brothers and three sisters. Those left to cherish her memory are her two sons Rev. Algie R. Cook and wife Peggy, Dennis Larry Cook and wife Brenda, one daughter Betty Jo Bailey and husband Avary all of Toney Fork, WV; twelve grandchildren: Mark Cook, Naman Cook, Algie (Jo Buck) Cook and wife Kathy all of Toney Fork, WV, Sara (Candy) Short and husband Bobby of Clear Fork,
WV, Rev. William Cook and wife Stephanie of Toney Fork, WV, Dennis Larry Cook, Jr. and wife Michelle of Toney Fork, WV, Debbie Jo Hazelwood and husband Michael of Dobson, NC, Nikki Washington, Rachelle Washington and
Cicily Washington all of Clarksburg, WV, Leslie Kennedy and husband Scott of Knoxville, TN and Jason Bailey and wife Roncheski of Toney Fork, WV; 17 great grandchildren; two sisters Annie Ashley of Amigo, WV and Carol Sizemore and husband Daryl of Coolridge, WV; five brothers T.D. Viewing will be Sunday from 5 - 6:00 PM for family and 6 - 9:00 PM for friends at the Lillyhaven Baptist Church.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 AM Monday March 17, 2008 at the Lillyhaven Baptist Church with Rev. Oza Mullens, Jr. officiating. She will be laid to rest at Kopperston Community cemetery. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.

Crystal Gail Sparks Hall, 24, of Oceana, WV passed away Tuesday March 11, 2008 suddenly at her home. Born August 4, 1983 in McDowell County, WV, she was a daughter of Tom and Marsha Sparks of Oceana, WV. Crystal was a member of Guyandotte Baptist Church in Jesse, WV and was a member of the first graduating class from Westside High School. Other than her parents she is survived by a precious and loving daughter Destiny Gail; a sister Jill Sparks and niece Jaylissa; grandfather Kenneth Stafford of Kopperston, WV and grandmother Jean Sparks of Oceana, WV; three uncles Bruce Sparks and wife Pat of Morgantown,
WV, Fred Sparks and wife Karen of Eleanor, WV and Randy Stafford and wife Sue of Oceana, WV; two aunts Lillian Tilley and husband Bill of Eccles, WV and Sandy Solacz and husband Mitch of Prosperity, WV; serveral cousins and a host of other loving family and friends. She was preceded in death by her grandmother Erma L. Stafford; grandfather Rev. William Boyd Sparks; and a cousin Jonathan Tilley. Services will be held Friday March 14, 2008 at Stafford Family Funeral Home, Lynco, WV.
The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM until 12:30 PM, with services to begin at 12:30 PM with her Pastor Harrison Abbott, Jr. officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Guyandotte Baptist Church Building Fund c/o Anita Lusk, PO Box 1256, Oceana, WV 24870.
Crystal will be laid to rest in Palm Memorial Gardens, Matheny, WV.
