Ronald Mack “Ronnie” Parsons, 56, of Oceana, WV passed away Tuesday September 29, 2012 at his
home. He was born May 20, 2012 in Clay County, WV a son of the late Virgil and Evelyn “Rita” Bolen
Parsons. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his wife Diana Kay Ellis Parsons; a brother
Roger Parsons; a sister Ruby Louise “Hall” Parsons, and a granddaughter Carly McComas. He was a
disabled coal miner and a member of the UMWA. Those left to cherish her memory are two daughters
Rhonda (Donald) McComas of Griffithsville, and Jennifer (Chris) Sutphin of Hewett; his fiancé Stephanie
Dixon of Lynco; five grandchildren Jayden Mitchell, Aubree McComas, Nathaniel Sutphin, Gavin Sutphin,
and Caden Sutphin; a sister Susan Parsons and fiance Mitch Simpson of Lynco; three brothers William
“PeeWee” (Debi) Parsons of Oceana, Dallas (Loretta) Parsons of Sunhill, and Scott (Jodi) Parsons of
Clear Fork; two sisters-in-law Charlotte Jeffery of Jeffrey and Corky Parsons of Lynco, and a host of other
loving family and friends. Funeral services will be held at 1:00PM on Friday October 5, 2012 at Joseph
Baptist Church, Lynco, WV with Pastor William Cook officiating. He will be laid to rest in Ellis
cemetery, Hewett, WV. Friends may gather with the family from 11:00 AM until time of service on Friday
October 5, 2012 at the church. The family is being served by the Stafford Family Funeral Home, Lynco, WV.

Phyllis Brown, 83, of Oceana, WV went home to be with the Lord Thursday October 4, 2012 at her home.
She was born August 12, 1929 in Logan County, WV a daughter of the late Robert Henry and Janetta
Hazel Thomas Jarrell. She attended the Toneda Missionary Baptist Church since June 10,1949, she was a
Sunday school teacher for 40 some years, food chairman for many years, and a member of the Eastern
Star Chapter 110 Pineville, WV. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. In addition to her parents
she is preceded in death by husband of 56 years William Hurley Brown; a brother Charley Jarrell; a sister
Reba Crabtree; and brother-in-law Bob Murray. Survivors include a son Damon (Rhonda) Brown of Murrells
Inlet, SC; a daughter Diana Lynn (Harold Gene) Tracy of Oak Hill; two sisters Freda (Earl) Tomblin of
Chapmanville, and Sue Murray of Hagerstown, MD; a brother in law George Crabtree of Davin; three
grandchildren Christy Brown, Billy Brown, and Harold William (Melissa) Tracy; six great grandchildren Tyler
Brown, Alexis Brown, Anthony Brown, Abigail Brown, Courtney David Tracy, Hayden Tracy, and a host of
other loving family and friends. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Monday October 8, 2012 at the
Toneda Missionary Baptist Church, Kopperston, WV with Rev. Jerry Cook and Pastor Jim Hamrick
officiating. She will be laid to rest in Palm Memorial Gardens, Matheny, WV. Friends may gather with the
family from 6-9:00 PM Sunday October 7, 2012 at the church. The family is being served by the Stafford Family Funeral Home, Lynco, WV.

Damen Sizemore, 47, of Kopperston, WV went to rest on Thursday October 4, 2012 at his mothers
home. He was born October 26, 1964 in Chicago, IL a son of the late James and Helen Palmer Sizemore.
Damen was a construction worker. In addition to his father he is preceded in death by a brother James
Sizemore, Jr. Those left to cherish his memory are his mother Helen of Marianna; a daughter Tiffany
Renee Sizemore of TN; two sons Justin Andrew (Tonia) Sizemore of Lynco, and Bryan Allan Sizemore of
Lynco; two sisters Elizabeth Sizemore of Pineville, and Carol Barefield of OH; four brothers John (Donna)
Sizemore of Logan, Lawrence (Monica) Sizemore of Fl, Raymond Sizemore of Pineville, and Herman
Wood of Pineville; three grandchildren Ciara Smith, Peyton Walters, and Caden Sizemore, and a host of
other loving family and friends. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday October 8, 2012 in
the Chapel of Stafford Family Funeral Home, Lynco, WV with Rev. David Stafford officiating. He will
be laid to rest in Palm Memorial Gardens, Matheny, WV. Friends may gather with the family from 6-9:00
PM Sunday October 7, 2012 at the funeral home. The family is being served by the Stafford Family Funeral Home,
Lynco, WV.


Dennis Ray Church, 72, of Matheny, WV passed away on Tuesday October 9, 2012 at Raleigh General
Hospital, Beckley, WV. He was born August 31, 1940 in Lee County, VA a son of the late Lonnie Smith
and Irene Harmon Church, Sr. He was a member of Faith Baptist Church in Matheny, WV and a retired
Aluminum Foundry worker. His daughter Angela Kay Spears and son Randall Wayne “Randy” Church also
preceded him in death. Survivors include his loving wife of 51 years Barbara Burchett Church; a daughter
Sherry Lynn Meade of Pineville, WV; a son Dennis Ray Church, Jr. of Taniger, IN; seven grandchildren; and
a host of other loving family and friends. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM Friday October 12, 2012
in the Mausoleum at Palm Memorial Gardens, Matheny, WV. He will be laid to rest in Palm Memorial
Gardens, Matheny, WV. The family is being served by the Stafford Family Funeral Home, Lynco, WV.

James Dillard “JD” Banther, Jr., 74, of Lynco, WV went on to a better life on Friday October 12, 2012.
He was born December 23, 1937 in Laurel Branch, WV a son of the late James Dillard and Hattie McCarty
Banther, Sr. JD was a member of UMWA local 7604 and worked at Kopperston #1 mine. Along with his
parents he was also preceded in death by a sister Mary Lou Lambert and brother in law Arthur Lambert; a
sister Elsie Mae Abshire, and a brother John Banther. He is survived by his loving wife of 44 years Janice
Faye Brown Banther; a daughter Wanda Gail Perry of NC; three sons Mark Banther of NC, Jimmie Banther
and wife Kimberly of Matheny, WV, and Jackie Banther and wife Phyllis “Bit” of Oceana, WV; four
grandchildren Ashley Perry, Samantha Morgan, Kyle Lusk, and Joshua Banther and wife Haleigh; one great
grandchild Kyleigh and one due in May 2013; a special niece Joyce Hatfield and husband Tim of Beckley,
WV and a host of other loving family and friends. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday
October 18, 2012 in the Chapel of Stafford Family Funeral Home, Lynco with Rev. Ron Harvey
officiating. Burial will follow in Palm Memorial Gardens, Matheny, WV. Pall bearers will be grandsons and
special friends of the family. Friends may call from 6 – 9:00 PM on Wednesday October 17, 2012 at the
funeral home. The family is being served by the Stafford Family Funeral Home, Lynco, WV.

Robert Gene “Rob” Blankenship, 72, of Lynco, WV, who resided in Harrisville, WV the past year, went
home to be with Jesus on Sunday October 14, 2012. He was born May 2, 1940 in Clear Fork, WV, a son
of the late Bruce Blackburn and Josie Acord Blankenship. Rob was of the Holliness Faith. Along with his
parents he was also preceded in death by his wife of 50 years Shirley Caroline Burrell Blankenship; an
infant son Samuel Matthew Blankenship; a daughter Geneva Pennington; four brothers William “Bill”
Cook, Bruce “Sam” Blankenship, James Blankenship, and Holland Blankenship and two sisters Geneva
Cole, and Margie Rowe. He is survived by three daughters Edith (Bobby) Rollins of Lynco, WV, Caroline
(Gary) Eakle of Harrisville, WV, and Anita (Leon) Kennedy of Hanover, WV; a son David (Norma)
Blankenship of Lynco, WV; two sisters Catherine Hatfield of Coal Mountain, and Patsy Benjamin of
Oceana; fourteen grandchildren; and eight great grandchildren; his companion of 14 months Sarah
Daugherty ;her two sons Terry and Roger Daugherty; her daughter Cheryl Marshall and families, and a
host of other loving family and friends. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM on Friday October 19,
2012 at the Pentecostal House of Prayer, Lynco with Rev. Firg Proffitt and Rev. Bill Massey officiating.
Burial will follow in Raymond Cook cemetery, Lynco, WV. Friends may call from 6 – 9:00 PM on
Thursday October 18, 2012 at the church. The family is being served by the Stafford Family Funeral Home,
Lynco, WV.

Frank Ricky Delong, 56, of Oceana, WV passed away at home unexpectedly on Thursday October 11,
2012. He was born May 29, 1956 in Welch, WV a son of the late Frank and Sadie Delong. Along with his
parents he was also preceded in death by a sister Glendean. Frank was a great Nascar fan and loved
fishing, he was a disabled coal miner and owned a trucking company. Survivors include his loving wife
Shirley Cook Delong of Oceana; a brother Gregory Delong of Columbia, Missouri; two sisters Linda Cline
and husband Eddie of Moneta, VA, Ruth Toler and husband Benny of Oceana; three special aunts Lutia
Lamb of Kopperston, Edra Smith of Oceana, and Ruth Whittington of Grandview; a host of nieces and
nephew and other loving family and friends. A celebration of his life will be held at 7:00 PM on Thursday
October 18, 2012 in the Chapel of Stafford Family Funeral Home, Lynco, WV with Rev. Valdis Bailey
officiating. Friends may call from 6 – 8:00 PM on Thursday October 18, 2012 at the funeral home. In
keeping with Rick’s wishes he will be cremated. The family is being served by the Stafford Family Funeral Home, Lynco,
WV.

Norma J. Tilley, 55, of Sabine, WV passed away on Saturday October 20, 2012 in Bowers Hospice
House, Beckley, WV. She was born March 19, 1957 in Maben, WV a daughter of the late Torkel Browning
and Viola Garnet Stewart Burnett. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband
David Lewis Tilley; and a sister Debra Browning. Those left to cherish her memory are a son Kenny Tilley
of Sabine; a sister Mary Tilley of Glen Daniel; her step mother Margaret Browning of Cabin Creek; three
brothers Jimmy Browning of Pineville, Robert Browning of NC, and Samuel Browning of Cabin Creek; two
grandchildren Summer Tilley and Kaden Tilley; and a host of other loving family and friends. Funeral
services will be held at 1:00 PM on Tuesday October 23, 2012 in the Chapel of Stafford Family Funeral
Home, Lynco with Pastor Charles Tilley officiating. Norma will be laid to rest in Tolliver-Sizemore
cemetery, Twin Falls, WV. Friends may call from noon until service time at the funeral home on Tuesday.

Kenneth George Tony Hall, I, 54, of Matheny, WV, passed away on Thursday October 19, 2012 at his
home. He was born October 20, 1957 in Clear Fork, WV, a son of the late Thomas and Zine Amol
Hatfield Hall. He was a 1976 graduate of Oceana High School. In addition to his parents he was preceded
in death by his a brother Thomas “Jubie” Hall, Jr.; a sister Betty Metzler; a brother in law Ronald Morgan;
and a niece Heather Nichole Sizemore . Survivors include a daughter Rebeckah Ann Hall of Matheny; two
sons Kenneth George Tony Hall,II of Oceana, and Thomas Graydon Hall of Charleston; three sisters
Shirley Trent of NC, Roxie Marie (Lou) Hatfield of Matheny and Rosalie Anne Sizemore of Matheny; a
brother Benny Hall of Matheny; two grandchildren Chloe Anne Mullins, and Mark Stephen Walls; and a
host of other loving family and friends. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday October 27,
2012 in the Chapel of Stafford Family Funeral Home, Lynco, WV with Pastor Rodney Hatfield
officiating. He will be laid to rest in Hall Family cemetery, Coon Branch, WV. Friends may gather with
the family from 6-8:00 PM on Friday October 26, 2012 at the funeral home. The family is being served by the Stafford Family Funeral Home, Lynco, WV.

Jim Remely “Whitey” Brown, Jr., 51, of Glen Fork, WV, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday October
23, 2012 at the Bowers Hospice House Beckley, WV. He was born December 27, 1960 in Glen Fork, WV
a son of Jim Remely Brown, Sr. and the late Lorraine Louise Lusk Brown. He was a Christian and a block
layer. In addition to his mother he was preceded in death by five uncles Billy Edward Brown, Clifford Lee
Brown, Charles Clyde Brown, Elbert Brown, Jr. and Theodore Brown, a sister-in-law Billie Brown and a
nephew Joshua Brown. Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 12 years Linda Marie McMillion Brown;
his father Jim Remely “Jamie” Brown, Sr. of Glen Fork; two daughters Lori Michelle Brown of Matheny and
Hope Leann Brown of Glen Fork; three sons Jim Remely Brown, III of Mullens, Ronnie Jacob Brown and
Ethan Joseph Brown both of Glen Fork; a grandson Joshuia Brown; three sisters Carlene Backus and Tina
Lynn (Jimmy) Clark all of Glen Fork and Ida Joyce (Charlie) Bailey of Glen Daniels; four brothers Terry
James (Carmela) Brown, Jerry Lee Brown and Mark Anthony (Heather) Brown all of Glen Fork and Jody
(Heather) Brown of Glen Daniels; and a host of other loving family and friends. Funeral services will be held
at 1:00 PM on Sunday October 28, 2012 in the Chapel of Stafford Family Funeral Home, Lynco with
Rev. Herman Cook officiating. He will be laid to rest in the Adkins cemetery, Glen Fork, WV. Friends may
call from 6 – 9:00 PM on Saturday at the funeral home. Pallbearers will family and friends. The family is being served by the Stafford Family Funeral Home, Lynco, WV.
