Eddie Eugene Berry, 59, of Clemmons, NC, formerly of Wyoming County passed away on Saturday January 26, 2013 at Hinkle Hospice House, Lexington, NC. He was born July 8, 1953 in Wise County, VA, a son of Kenneth the late Turner Lee and Loretta Faye Hill Berry. Eddie was a United States Marine Corp. Veteran. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his wife Loreta Montrosse. Survivors include two sisters Debra Kay (Frank) Adams of Pineville, and Jacqueline Berry (Cecil) Duggins of Clemmons, NC; a brother Thomas Lee Berry of Pineville; a niece Alicia (Andrew) Utterback of Pineville; two great nephews Coleton and Gannon Utterback of Pineville; and a host of other loving family and friends. Graveside services will be held at 12:00PM on Tuesday January 29, 2013 at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens, Beckley, WV. Military graveside rites will be conducted by the Wyoming County Veterans Honor Guard. The family is being served by the Stafford Family Funeral Home, Lynco, WV.

Pearl Church Bailey, 85, of Oceana, WV, passed away on Sunday February 3, 2013 in Bowers Hospice House, Beckley, after a long illness. She was born June 2, 1927 in Panther, WV a daughter of the late Matthew and Flora Justice Church. She was also preceded in death by a brother Lawrence Church and 4 sisters, Edith, Edna, Florence and Georgia. Pearl was a homemaker and loving wife and mother. Those left to cherish her memory include her loving husband of sixty-six years Grant Bailey, a sister Arizona Brown of Collinsville, VA, a son Larry Bailey and wife Joyce of Oceana; three daughters Jane Morgan and husband Marvin of Belleview Fl, Joyce Asbury and husband Falous of King George, VA and Judy Pinson and husband Rob of Beckley; seven grandchildren Jennifer Brooks, Jodie Bailey, Daniel Bailey, Jamie Morgan, Timothy Morgan, Amy Jill Marden and Jobe Thornsbury, eleven great grandchildren Clay, Morgan and Faith Brooks; Peyton, Madison and Jasmine Morgan; Ava and Zachery Bailey; Gabby Stacy, Jack and Dylan Marden. The family would like to thank the Bowers Hospice House, caregiver Judy St.Clair; a good friend and neighbor Ruth Walker; and a host of other loving family and friends. Funeral services will be held at noon on Wednesday February 6, 2013 in the Chapel of Stafford Family Funeral Home, Lynco, WV with Pastor Algie Cook officiating. She will be laid to rest in Palm Memorial Gardens, Matheny, WV. Friends may call from 11:00 AM until service time on Wednesday February 6, 2013 at the funeral home. Bentley Domanic Powell, left this world to play with the angels in God's playground, just before he was born on January 30, 2013 at Welch Community Hospital, Welch, WV. Bentley is a son of Julie Ann Pruitt and Daniel Andy Lee Powell. He is preceded in death by his grandfather Vincil Lee Powell and great grandmother Elizabeth Steele. Also left to mourn his passing are his big sister Jayden Alyssa Lashay Powell; maternal grandparents Mary Blevins of Beckley, and Danny Pruitt of Beckley; paternal grandparents Shirley (Ralph) Cline of Monroe County; and a host of other loving family and friends. Funeral services will be held at 1:00PM on Saturday February 2, 2013 at Ark of Safety Church, Roderfield, WV with Sister Brenda Blankenship officiating. Friends may gather with the family from noon until time of service Saturday at the church. He will be laid to rest at D.L. Powell cemetery, Iaeger, WV. The family is being served by the Stafford Family Funeral Home, Lynco, WV.

Sandra Eddie Woods Compton, 67, of Brier Creek, WV, passed away on Saturday February 2, 2013 in Welch Community Hospital, Welch, WV. She was born December 18, 1945 in Bedford, VA, a daughter of the late Joseph Edward and Lois Addie Burroughs Woods. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband Lucien Compton. Those left to cherish her memories a son Billy (Tanya) Compton; three daughters Lois (DJ) Cumings, Kristy Compton, and Carol Cline; a sister JoAnn (Spencer) Taylor; four brothers Thomas (Margie) Woods, Billy (Rita) Woods, David (Darlene) Woods, and Andy (Teresa) Woods; four grandchildren Matthew Compton, Hailey Compton, Kristen Cline, and Tabitha (Darrell) Smith; and a host of other loving family and friends. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM on Friday February 8, 2013 at the Brenton Community Church, Brenton, WV with Rev. Paul Compton officiating. She will be laid to rest in Compton cemetery, Skin Fork, WV. Friends may call from 5 – 8:00 PM on Thursday February 7, 2013 at the church. The family is being served by the Stafford Family Funeral Home, Lynco, WV.

Dempsey “Demp” Walls, 85, of Clear Fork, WV, passed away on Wednesday February 6, 2013 in Welch Community Hospital, Welch, WV. He was born November 25, 1927, in Wyoming County, WV, a son of the late Phillip Sheridan and Thelma Ivy Farrell Walls. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by three sisters Ruth, Naomi and Minnie Pearl and a brother Jack. He was a good hearted old coal miner that loved getting up in the morning for a good cup of coffee. Then immediately getting into his car to go for a ride. He would stop and see friends and brag about his tomatoes and could then go pick a four leaf clover. At the age of 85 he had quite a ride and everyone knew him. He loved little kids, dogs and cats. He loved Jesus and we’re sure he loves seeing him now. We love you and will see you soon, so we can go for a ride and listen to Allen Jackson. Survivors include a brother Mickey Walls of Clear Fork; a nephew Mickey (Kathy) Sutter of San Angelo, TX; a great niece Sarah Sutters of San Angelo, TX; and a host of other loving family and friends. Memorial services will be held at 7:00 PM on Monday February 11, 2013 in the Chapel of Stafford Family Funeral Home, Lynco with Rev Allen Blankenship officiating. In keeping with the family’s wishes he will be cremated. Friends may gather with the family from 5:00 until service time at the funeral home. The family is being served by the Stafford Family Funeral Home, Lynco, WV.

Tina Marie Blankenship Toler Fox, 45, of Oceana, WV, passed away on Friday February 8, 2013 at her home. She was born December 13, 1967 in Welch, WV a daughter of Freda Mae Massey Blankenship of Oceana and the late Bruce “Sam” Blankenship, Jr. In addition to her father she is preceded in death by her sister Lisha “Lisa” Hall; her second husband Edward Toler, uncle and aunt Rob and Shirley Blankenship and two aunts Geneva Cole and Margie Rowe. Those left to cherish her memory include her husband William Billy Fox; a daughter Tiffany Nicole Toler of Lynco; two sons Scottie B. Hamilton, Jr. and fiancé Ashley of Pineville, WV, and Zachary J. (Tashie) Belcher of Reedy Creek who was adopted out; two grandchildren Chase Edward Hamilton, and Hayden Shae Belcher, and another due in June 2013; two brothers Tommy Blankenship of Lynco and Ricky (Valerie) Blankenship of Kopperston, host of other loving family and friends. Funeral services will be held at 12:00 PM on Tuesday February12, 2013 in the Chapel of Stafford Family Funeral Home with Rev. Bill Stewart officiating. She will be laid to rest in the Raymond Cook cemetery, Lynco, WV. Friends may gather with the family from 10:00 AM until time of Service on Tuesday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the funeral home. The family is being served by the Stafford Family Funeral Home, Lynco, WV.

David Ray Stewart, 63, of Princeton, WV, formerly of Matheny, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday February 13, 2013 in at his home. He was born March 29, 1949 in Matheny, WV, a son of the late Ira Paris and Mabel Lavoy Walker Stewart. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a brother Truman Walker, a brother-in-law Claude Proffitt, and a sister and brother-in-law Naomi and Jim Dishmon. Survivors include his loving wife of almost twenty six years Virginia Marie Collins Stewart; a daughter Susan Raye Stewart and companion Michael Williamson of Crum; a step-daughter Pamela Sue (Michael) Crowder of Princeton; a step-son Thomas Eugene Burchette and companion Brandy Reed of Princeton; three sisters Annis (Glenn) Cook of Matheny, Bonnie (Clyde) Patrick of Matheny, and Ethel Proffitt of Statesville, NC; two brothers Leonard (Theresa) Stewart of Oceana, and Gary (Lisa) Stewart of Hinton; his pets Mollie and Jake; and a host of other loving family and friends. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday February 16, 2013 in the Chapel of Stafford Family Funeral Home, Lynco with Rev. Glenn Cook officiating. He will be laid to rest in Palm Memorial Gardens, Matheny, WV. Friends may call from 11:00 AM until service time on Saturday February 16, 2013 at the funeral home. Francis Elaine Birchfield, 60, of Shannon Mill Creek, WV, went home to be with the Lord Tuesday February 12, 2013 in at her home. She was born May 24, 1952 in Pineville, WV a daughter of the late Walter Delphas and Lida Katherine Blankenship Birchfield. Francis was a very strong and beautiful lady who could do most anything. She attended the Brenton Church of God. She loved her grandchildren, her horses, and everyone of the children that rode her bus. Elaine enjoyed the outdoors and loved to do oil paintings. She was a Wyoming County Board of Education school bus driver for 5 years. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a brother Walter Stephen Birchfield. Those left to cherish her memory include two daughters Cherie Denise (Scott) Hayes of Fairmont and Amanda Kathryn Cochran of Shannon Mill Creek; a son Michael John (Melissa) Cochran of Fanrock; her fiancé Donald Trump of Elliston, VA; a brother Freddie Birchfield of Low Gap, NC; six grandchildren Brandon Cochran, Justin Cochran, Britney Cochran, Sydney Cochran, Dylan Morgan and Abigail Morgan; and a host of other loving family and friends. Funeral services will be held at 11:00AM on Sunday February 17, 2013 at the Brenton Church of God, Brenton, WV with Pastor Lee Fischer officiating. She will be laid to rest in Shannon cemetery, Baileysville, WV. Friends may call from 6-9:00PM on Saturday February 16, 2013 at the church. Elizabeth June Robinette, 50, of Princeton, WV, formerly of Iaeger passed away on Thursday February 14, 2013 at her home. She was born January 16, 1963 in Welch, WV a daughter of the late Wheeler and Stella Virgie Lester Robinette. She was a homemaker. In addition to her parents her son Trampas Edward Steele also preceded her in death, along with two brothers Jerry “Big Joe” Robinette and Sampy Robinette. Survivors include a daughter Julie Reanna Steele and companion Susan “Moucha” Nevius of Lebanon, KY; a grandson Thomas Neal Steele of Nicholasville, KY; seven sisters Barbara (Gary) Davison of Bristol, TN, Dorothy (Wayne) Steele of Peterstown, Lola Joan (Jerry) Daugherty of Iaeger, Rosemary Robinette of Iaeger, Shirley (Randall) Daugherty of Hanover, Virgie Kay Robinette of Princeton and Jackie Bishop and companion Michael Addair of Ikes Fork; four brothers Jimmy (Linda) Robinette of Iaeger, Dave Robinette of Iaeger, Donnie (Donna) Robinette of Danville, VA and Harold (Connie) Robinette of Iaeger; a special friend Kathy Wagoner of Lebanon, KY; and a host of other loving family and friends. Funeral services will be held at Noon Tuesday February 19, 2013 at the Old Pathway Church, Johnny Cake Mountain, with Pastor James Cline and Pastor Darrell Christian officiating. She will be laid to rest beside her son in the Day cemetery, Old Vance Hollow, Iaeger, WV. Friends may gather with the family from 6 - 9:00 PM on Monday February 18, 2013 at the church. Hugh Ray “Hughie” West, 50, of Ballengee, WV, formerly of Glover passed away on Wednesday February 20, 2013 in Jackie Withrow Hospital, Beckley, WV. He was born September 15, 1962 in Manassas, VA a son of the late Ray Vaugh West and the late Norma Fouch Morgan. In addition to his parents a sister Michelle Basham and step dad Bilton Morgan preceded him in death. Survivors include three sisters Susan Morgan of Hinton, Sonja (Ken) Degillio of FL, and Marsha (Oley) Hatfield of Hanover; seven brothers Michael West of Hanover, Greg (Debbie) Morgan of DE, Craig (Leslie) West of FL, Clark (Donna) Hatfield of Hanover, Kelly West of FL, Bob (Audra) Morgan of DE, and Dewayne Morgan of DE; and a host of other loving family and friends. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM Saturday February 23, 2013 at the Hanover Baptist Church, Hanover, WV with Rev. David Johnson officiating. Hugh will be laid to rest in the West cemetery, Rock House Mountain. Friends may gather with the family from 11:00 AM on Saturday until time of service at the church. Crystal Gail Franklin Cline, 34, of Brenton, WV, passed away on Tuesday February 19, 2013 at her home. She was born November 5, 1978 in Welch, WV a daughter of Randy Lee Franklin of Pineville, and Donna Sue Mitchell Hagy of Brenton. She is preceded in death by her grandparents Russell Loyd and Bertha Louise Harrison Franklin and Harold Gene and Amilia Mitchell. Those left to cherish her memory include her parents; a daughter Alice Marie Cline of Brenton; a son Austin Cline of Brenton; a brother Randall Lee Franklin of Brenton; and a host of other loving family and friends.
