Rev. Ollie Lee Bishop, 74, of Coon Branch Mountain, WV is now resting with Jesus as of Saturday April 6, 2013 from Lewis Gale Medical Center Salem, VA. He was born September 15, 1938 in Rose Branch, WV, a son of the late Lacy and Zettie Lester Bishop, Sr. He is preceded in death by his parents, two brothers Lacy Bishop, Jr., Pedro Cline and two infant brothers Okey Dee Bishop and Roy Bishop; two sisters Georgie Belcher and Lacine Lester. He is survived by his loving wife of eleven years Ruth Shrader Bishop; two daughters Norma Jean “Jeannie” (Shawn) Cline of Horse Pen, and Amanda Jenny (Wesley) Payne of NC; two sons Oley Kent (Beulah) Bishop of Hanover and Chad Mullins of Beckley; seven sisters Emogene (Jason) Lester of Baisden, Katherine (Raymond) Bowles of VA, Margaret Lester of Baisden, Kathy (Danny) Bayz of Delbarton, Nana May (Charles) Stewart of Baileysville and Judy (Bill) Hagey of Welch; a brother Edward (Gene) Bishop of GA; nine grandchildren Nick (Shanda) Bishop, Preston (fiancé Caitlyn) Bishop, Kayla (Jonathon) Hatfield, Ashton Cline, Chase Payne, Brandon Payne, Wesley (Kandice) Sparks, Chris (Kendra) Sparks, and Walter (Lacy) Bishop; seven great grandchildren Isaiah May, Austin Bishop, Braden Bishop, Isabella Hatfield, Kenlee Sparks, Gracie Sparks and Khloe Bailey; three special friends Johnny, Ronnie, and Tommy Shrader; and a host of other loving family and friends. Funeral services will be held at Noon on Tuesday April 9, 2013 in the Chapel of Stafford Family Funeral Home, Lynco with Rev. James Cline and Rev. Bobby Keene officiating. He will be laid to rest in the Powell cemetery, Coon Branch Mountain, WV. Friends may gather with the family from 6-9:00 PM on Monday April 8, 2013 at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Nick Bishop, Preston Bishop, Chase Payne, Brandon Payne, Wesley Payne and Tommy Schrader. The family is being served by the Stafford Family Funeral Home, Lynco, WV.

Anthony Russell Aliff, 37, of Indianapolis, IN, formerly of Pineville, WV passed away on April 16, 2013, following a short illness. He was born May 18, 1975 in Tyler, TX a son of Charles Edward Aliff of Indianapolis, IN and Debbie Sue Williams Stewart of Pineville, WV. He was preceded in death by a son Tony Ryan Aliff, grandparents Russell and Elsie Williams and Ulbert and June Aliff, an uncle Doug Aliff and a step brother Brad Stewart. He was a roofer and a 1993 graduate of Pineville High School. Survivors include his daughter Ryanna Aliff of Oceana; his mother Debbie Sue (Tommy) Stewart of Pineville; his father Charles Edward (Betty) Aliff of Indianapolis, IN; a brother Jason Edward Aliff and companion Lisa of Pineville; step brother Jason McCory of IN; step sister Jessica McCroy of IN; six aunts Liz (James) Mullins of Princeton, Michelle (Tom) Smith of Beaver, Carol Wheaton of FL, Edna Thomas of IN, Shirley Aliff of IN and Patricia Blankenship of NC; an uncle David Aliff of MD; two nephews Jaden Aliff and Liam McCory; three nieces Sadie Aliff, Shaelyn Aliff and Allie McCory; and a host of other loving family and friends. Funeral service will be held at 3:00 PM on Sunday April 21, 2013 in the Chapel of Stafford Family Funeral Home, Lynco, WV with Rev. Oza Mullins, Jr. officiating. Friends may gather with the family from 1:00 PM until service time at the funeral home on Sunday. Following the services he will be cremated. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the funeral home. The family is being served by the Stafford Family Funeral Home, Lynco, WV.

Randall Carl Wallace, 56, of Matheny, WV passed away on April 18, 2013 after a long battle with cancer. He was born April 1, 1957 in Iaeger, WV, a son of the late George and Martha Hatfield Wallace. Randall was a miner operator for many years at Eastern Associated Coal’s Harris Mine and a member of the UMWA. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a sister Barbara Wallace, three brothers Tracy, Rondell and Tommy Wallace. Survivors include his loving wife of thirty years Doris Ann Blankenship Wallace; a daughter Linda Walsh and husband Joseph of Long Island, NY; a son Brandon Wallace and fiancé Jennifer Acord of Matheny; four sisters Alice (Edward) Barnett of Matheny, Sherry (Steve) Harvey of Cedar Creek, Phyllis Bartley of Oceana and Pamela (Curley) Hatfield of Matheny; a sister-in-law Teresa Wallace of Coal Mountain; a special nephew Jamie Bartley of Oceana; a host of other nieces and nephews; a friend Barry Beaver; special friend John Bowman who was like a brother; and a host of other loving family and friends. In keeping with his wishes he will be cremated and there will be no services. The family wishes to send special thanks to Hospice of Southern WV, Jennifer Acord, a special sister-in-law Tina and Norvel Bolen and Pastor Jerry Graham for all their help in caring for Randall, and his precious sister Pamela who stayed by his side all the time. The family is being served by the Stafford Family Funeral Home, Lynco, WV.

Rodney Sterlin Moore, 78, of McGraws, WV passed away on Saturday April 20, 2013 in Beckley Appalachian Regional Hospital, Beckley, WV. He was born February 11, 1935 in Mullens, WV, a son of the late Claude and Christie Belcher Moore. Rodney was a graduate of Glen Rogers High School. Survivors include two sons Jeffery Moore of Beckley, WV, and Kelly Moore of McGraws, WV; and a host of other loving family and friends. In keeping with his wishes he will be cremated and there will be no services. The family is being served by the Stafford Family Funeral Home, Lynco, WV.

Hazel Marie Hunt Steele, 81, of Turkey Creek, WV went home to be with the Lord on April 22, 2013 in Golden Harvest Nursing Home, Welch, WV. She was born September 12, 1931 in Mohawk, WV a daughter of the late Elic and Elsie Justice Hunt. She was of the Christian faith. Along with her parents she is preceded in death by her husband Homer Steele; two step sons Sam Steele, and Lewis Steele; two step daughters Margie Baugh and Daisy Toler; a son-in-law Roger Altizer and a daughter-in-law Freda Steele. Survivors include two daughters Phyllis Acord and husband Bobby of Clear Fork, WV and Bonnie Steels and husband James Berry of Blountville, TN; a step daughter Hazel Altizer of Clear Fork, WV; and a step son Harold Steele of Clear Fork, WV; and a host of other loving family and friends. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM on Thursday April 25, 2013 in the Chapel of Stafford Family Funeral Home, Lynco with Pastor Firg Proffitt officiating. She will be laid to rest in Palm Memorial Gardens, Matheny, WV. Friends may call from 12 – 1:00 PM on Thursday at the funeral home. The family is being served by the Stafford Family Funeral Home, Lynco, WV.

Ruth Workman, 87, of Lynco, WV went home to be with the Lord on April 23, 2013 in St. Mary’s Medical Center, Huntington, WV. She was born January 18, 1926 in Clear Fork, WV a daughter of the late Mote and Eva Toler Acord. Ruth was a member of the Clear Fork Independent Church of God. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Thurman Workman; a son Harold E. Workman; and a granddaughter Darlene Marie Workman. Survivors include a son Kenneth Workman and wife Phyllis of Lynco, WV; four grandchildren Harold Workman, Jr., Jason Workman, Beverly Workman, and Kenneth Ray Workman; two great grandchildren; one great great grandchild; and a host of other loving family and friends. Graveside services will be held at 11:00AM Friday April 26, 2013 at the Toler cemetery, Laurel Branch, WV, with the Rev. Hannibal Blankenship, Jr. officiating. In lieu of flowers family requests donations be made to the funeral home. The family is being served by the Stafford Family Funeral Home, Lynco, WV.

Carrol Justus, Jr., 61, of Oceana, WV passed away on May 15, 2013 at his home, Kopperston, WV. He was born January 24, 1952 in Baileysville, WV a son of the late Carrol and Lettie Blankenship Justus, Jr. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two sisters Creith Lane, and Truebee McGraw; a brother Harless Justus; and a stepdaughter Lisa Blackburn. He was a truck driver. Survivors include two sons Dwight Justus of Kopperston, and Cody Justus of Kopperston; a stepdaughter Brenda Reed of Pineville; step-granddaughter Jamie Short, Kayla Ritchie and Brittany Ritchie all of Oceana; a step great granddaughter Tiona Short of Oceana; five sisters Gertrude Hurley of Brenton, Inez Smith of Cedar Creek, Nancy Hawks of Brenton, Imogene Short of Brenton and Dreama Lester of Beckley; two brothers Vernor Justus of Brenton, and Frankie Justus of Kopperston; and a host of other loving family and friends. Funeral services will be held at 1:00PM Monday May 20, 2013 in the Chapel of Stafford Family Funeral Home, Lynco, WV. He will be laid to rest in Cook cemetery, Lynco, WV. Paul Thomas Goode, II, 33, of Oceana, WV passed away on May 17, 2013 at Welch Community Hospital, Welch, WV. He was born September 20, 1979 in Mullens, WV a son of Paul Thomas Goode of Starke, FL, and Shelia Harding Shrader of Princeton, WV. He was preceded in death by a brother Mike Goode. Survivors include a daughter Felicity Goode of Oceana; two sons Blake Goode of Oceana, and John Paul Goode of Yatkinsville, NC; three sisters Tonya Goode of Oceana, Barbara (John) Lucas of Beckley, and Brittany Goode of Starke, FL; a brother Shawn (Amanda) Goode of Hawthorn, FL; two stepbrothers Kevin Sykes of Starke, FL and Michael Sykes of Starke, FL; a stepmom Lisa Goode of Starke, FL; a stepfather Mark Shrader of Princeton; and a host of other loving family and friends. Funeral services will be held at 1:00PM Wednesday May 22, 2013 in the Chapel of Stafford Family Funeral Home, Lynco, WV, with Bro. Ricky Shrewsberry officiating. Friends may gather with the family on Wednesday from 11:00 AM until time of service at the funeral. He will be laid to rest in Goode cemetery, Bud Mountain, WV. Mary Ann Justice, 37, of Tazewell, VA passed away on Wednesday May 15, 2013 in Bristol Regional Hospital, Bristol, TN. She was born November 27, 1975 in Welch, WV a daughter of the late Judy Edwards Justice and Donnie Justice of Tazewell, VA. She was a homemaker. Also preceding her in death was paternal grandparents Walter and Pearlie Justice and maternal grandfather Allen Edwards. Survivors include her father Donnie Justus and companion Jane Boothe of Tazewell; her long time companion Rex Horne; four sisters Barbara Ann (James) Counts of Bluefield, Michelle (Jason) Phipps of Hinton, Jennifer (Kevin) Grahamn of Mullens and Brittany Justice of Beckley; three brothers Brett Justice of Tazewell, Jason (Amy) Justice of Hinton and Benny (Marie) Justice of Tazewell; and Ronald Justice who was as close as a brother; a special nephew Ricky “Skip” Justice; and a host of uncles, aunts, cousins, nieces, nephews and close friends. Funeral services will be held at Noon Friday May 24, 2013 at the Little Zion Baptist Church, Greenbrier, WV, with Ministers John R. Justice, Zeb Justice, Danny Hurley, Fred Bailey and Author Short officiating. She will be laid to rest in the Justice cemetery, Trace Fork. Friends may gather with the family on Thursday May 23, 2013 after 6:00 PM at the church. The family is being served by the Stafford Family Funeral Home, Lynco, WV.

Douglas Leon “Doug” Johnson, 71, of Lynco, WV passed away on Tuesday May 21, 2013 at CAMC Memorial Hospital, Charleston, WV. He was born March 4, 1942 in Mohegan, WV, a son of the late William Gayther and Nora Beatrice Mullins Johnson. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two daughters Tina Johnson and Cynthia Pennington; two brothers Gayther Arvus Johnson and Johnny Johnson and a sister Nancy Havert. Survivors include his loving wife of 53 years Brenda Pricilla Vint Johnson; a daughter Lisa Dawn White and husband William of Oceana; two sisters Erdene Hiller of Colonial Beach, VA and Deborah “Debbie” Wilson of Richmond, VA; two brothers Bill Johnson and wife Fern of Lynco and Michael Johnson and wife Betty of Daniels; two brother-in-laws Chuck Havert and Thomas Collins both of Fairdale; six grandchildren Dougie Johnson, Kurtis White, Tina Pennington, TJ Pennington, Justin Pennington and Neal White; and a host of other loving family and friends. Funeral services will be held at 3:00PM Saturday May 25, 2013 in the Chapel of Stafford Family Funeral Home, Lynco, WV, with Bro. Herman Cook officiating. Friends may gather with the family on Saturday from 2:00 PM until time of service at the funeral home. In keeping with his wishes he will be cremated and his cremains will be laid to rest in the Cook cemetery, Lynco, WV. The family is being served by the Stafford Family Funeral Home, Lynco, WV.

Jerry Randall ”Randy” Vance, 54, of Indian Creek, WV Went home to be with the Lord on Sunday May 26, 2013 at his residence following a courageous two and a half year battle with cancer. He was born September 20, 1958 in Pineville, WV, a son of Pauline Ward Adkins of Indian Creek, WV. Randy was a coal truck driver and a member of the Brenton Volunteer Fire Department. He loved to fish, read, cook and spend time with nieces, nephews, other family and friends. Survivors include his loving wife of 8 years Debra Jean Davis Vance; three sisters Betty (Dale) Osborne of Gretna, VA, Barbara Caldwell of Indian Creek and Tina (Steve) Massey of Oceana; a brother Virgil Adkins of FL; and a host of other loving family and friends. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday May 29, 2013 at the Brier Creek Tabernacle, Fanrock, WV, with Pastor Ernest Francis officiating. Randy will be laid to rest in the Lester Family cemetery, Indian Creek, WV. Friends may gather with the family on Tuesday from 6-9:00 PM at the church. Pallbearers will be Brenton Volunteer Fire Department members, Landon Kennedy, Donald Aliff and Steve Massey. The family is being served by the Stafford Family Funeral Home, Lynco, WV.
