Nancy Sharon Brown, 68, of Kopperston Road, WV, gone to be with Jesus on Thursday, July 23, 2015 at Wyoming Nursing and Rehab, New Richmond, WV. She was born on December 28, 1946 in Oceana, WV, a daughter of the late Dennie Wayne and Rosalene Mullins Brown, Jr. Sharon is a member of the Toneda Missionary Baptist Church, a 1965 graduate of Oceana High School and was produce manager at Goodson's Supermarket. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by a brother Dennie Dewayne Brown. Survivors include a sister Sandra S. Brown of Oceana; a brother Jeffrey D. (Loretta) Brown of Athens; a sister-in-law Sandy Y. Brown of Kopperston; and a host of cousins, and family and friends. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM on Monday, July 27, 2015 at the Toneda Missionary Baptist Church, Kopperston, WV, with Rev. Raybon Cook and Rev. Ron Harvey officiating. She will be laid to rest in Kopperston Community cemetery, Kopperston, WV. Friends may gather with the family from 11:00 AM until time of service on Monday, July 27, 2015 at the church. A special thank you to Virginia and Ron Toler, Matthew Toler, Jason Toler and his family and all the people who visited Sharon and the staff of Wyoming Nursing and Rehab for the wonderful care you gave her. On Friday morning, July 24, 2015, Landon Bruce Lusk, 78, of Oceana, WV, went to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Heaven's choir is much sweeter today. He was born on January 30, 1937 in Cyclone, WV, a son of the late Onnie Pierce and Mary Ellen Bailey Lusk. Landon was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend. He was a member and ordained deacon of the Toneda Missionary Baptist Church where he also served through the years as a trustee, Sunday School teacher, choir director and youth choir director. He loved singing in the choir and in recent years playing the bass guitar with pianist Virginia Toler. He also greatly enjoyed being in church Christmas plays. Landon worked as a mine foreman for Eastern Associated Coal Corp., working mostly at Kopperston No. 2 mine and retiring from the Harris mines in 1992 after 35 years of service. Supporting his sons in their growing years, he was a Little League coach and a former president of Oceana Little League for three years. He loved gardening and playing golf, and was a very talented handyman. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his father-in-law, Freelin Walker, mother-in-law, May Fern Cook Walker, and mother-in-law, Nannie Brown Walker; two brothers-in-law, Paris Brown and Richard Walker; and a sister-in-law, Edith Lusk. Those left to cherish his memory are his loving wife Jean Walker Lusk, to whom he would have been married 53 years in November; two sons Brad (Tracey) Lusk of Venetia, PA and Kevin (Sandy) Lusk of Follansbee, WV; three sisters Lucy (Ralph) Grubb of Oceana, Gretcha Brown of Cyclone and Sylvia (Steve) Gibson of Oceana; three brothers Lonnie Lusk of Oceana, Earnel (Eleanor) Lusk of Cyclone and Leonard (Anita) Lusk of Oceana; five grandchildren T.J. Tate, Alex Tate, Will Lusk, Krissa Lusk and David Lusk; a host of other loving family and friends; and his beloved dog Eddie. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, July 28, 2015 at the Toneda Missionary Baptist Church, Kopperston, WV, with Rev. Ron Lee officiating. Landon's nephews will serve as pallbearers, and deacons and other dear friends from his church, will serve as honorary pallbearers. He will be laid to rest in Palm Memorial Gardens, Matheny, WV. Edward Keister Steele, 54, of Panther, WV, passed away on Friday, July 24, 2015 at his home. He was born on November 7, 1960 in Welch, WV, a son of the late Louie Herbert and Martha Elizabeth Cole Steele. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by a brother Roger Steele; a sister Judy Steele; and a sister-in-law Irene Steele. Survivors include a daughter Renee (Adam) Blankenship of Prichard; a son Lacy (Stephanie) Steele of Princeton; three sisters Imogene (Ervin) Powell of Iaeger, Shirley (Ralph) Cline of Steptown and Sadie (Dewight) Elliott of Hurley, VA; three brothers Orvil (Georgie) Steele, Quincy Steele and Orbine "Duce" (Barbara) Steele all of Horsecreek; four grandchildren Zyler, Gage, Holly and Matthew; and a host of other loving family and friends. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, July 29, 2015 at the Jeremiah House of Faith, Hanover, WV, with Rev. Granville Mullins, Rev. Rusty Mullins, Rev. Sandra Bryant and Rev. Rondel Reed officiating. He will be laid to rest in Steele Family cemetery, Horsecreek, WV. Friends may gather with the family after 6:00 PM on Tuesday, July 28, 2015 at the church. Thomas Otis Beaver, 68, of Clear Fork, WV, passed away on Tuesday, July 28, 2015 at Welch Community Hospital, Welch, WV. He was born on March 31, 1947 in Scarbro, WV, a son of the late James and Elizabeth Aurednick Beaver. Thomas was a United States Army Vietnam Veteran of the 214th Artillery group and a Baileysville High School graduate. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his father-in-law Harrison Abbott, Sr. Survivors include his loving wife of 45 years Sue Abbott Beaver; a daughter Angela Beaver (Stephanie Blankenship) of Clear Fork; a son Kevin (Rebecca) Beaver of Clear Fork; three grandchildren Dalton Pritt, Jacob Pritt and Gracie Beaver; mother-in-law Daisy Abbott of Lynco; two brothers Bob (Barbara) Aurednick of Clear Fork and Johnny Beaver of Sun Hill; a sister Susie (Bill) Roberts of Lynco; and a host of other loving family and friends. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, August 1, 2015 in the Chapel of Stafford Family Funeral Home, Lynco, WV, with Pastor Harrison Abbott, Jr. officiating. He will be laid to rest in G. C. Toler cemetery, Sun Hill, WV. Military rites will be conducted by the Wyoming County Veterans Honor Guard. Friends may gather with the family from noon until time of service on Saturday, August 1, 2015 at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be family and friends. Darlene Velos Blankenship, 57, of Fairdale, WV, passed away on Friday, July 31, 2015 at Bowers Hospice House, Beckley, WV. She was born on July 10, 1958 in Chicago, IL, a daughter of the late Thomas James and Nancy Lee Havert Velos. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her loving husband Clifford Lee Blankenship; a daughter Blaine Hope Blankenship; a sister Tammy Maynard and a nephew Chad Maynard. Survivors include a son Clifford Lee Blankenship, Jr. of Fairdale; two grandchildren Clifford Dylan Blankenship and Mersadies Danielle Blankenship of Oceana; a sister Trina Dawn Cline of Fairdale; a brother Louis James Velos of Matheny; her step-father Chuck Havert of Fairdale; and a host of other loving family and friends. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, August 8, 2015 at the Bolt Fundamental Baptist Church, Bolt, WV, with Bro. Jim Lucas officiating. She will be laid to rest in Cook cemetery, Lynco, WV. In keeping with her wishes she will be cremated. Ras Laney "Bob" Trull, Jr., 87, of Matheny, WV, passed away on Monday, August 3, 2015 at Bowers Hospice House, Beckley, WV. He was born on March 18, 1928 in Patrick Springs, VA, a son of the late Ras and Callie Mae Plaster Trull. Trull loved turkey hunting, playing golf with Keith Walker, Nascar, gardening, the outdoors and was a member of the UMWA and the National Rifle Association. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his first wife Lorraine Trull Rudd; five brothers; and a sister. He was a Korean War Army Veteran, having earned a Purple Heart and Bronze Star. Survivors include his loving wife of 19 years and sole caretaker for the last 11 years Genevieve Toler Trull; three daughters Kathy (Frank) Sicilia, Rhonda (Kenny) Cook and Lori (Michael) Goodwin; a step daughter Gennie Lynn England; a son Doug (Lisa) Trull; two step sons Charles Edward Fortner, Jr. and Murphy Dewayne Fortner; a sister-in-law Idell Trull; eight grandchildren Derek, Devan and Dustin Trull, Dylan McCarthy, Kayce Shea Cook, Lauren, Callie and Austin Goodwin; two step grandchildren Sheldon England and Jada Chandell England; and a host of other loving family and friends. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM on Friday, August 7, 2015 in the Chapel of Stafford Family Funeral Home, Lynco, WV, with Bro. Shadrach Stewart and Rev. Herb Cook officiating. He will be laid to rest in Palm Memorial Gardens, Matheny, WV. Military Rites will be conducted by the Wyoming County Veterans Honor Guard. Starlin Lee Gravely, 51, of Verner, WV, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, August 5, 2015 at Logan Regional Medical Center, Logan, WV. He was born on March 9, 1964 in Welch, WV, a son of the late Franklin Eugene and Corrine Jean Hatfield Gravely. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by a sister Patty Sue Gravely; two brothers Jackie O'dale Gravely and James Robert Gravely; paternal grandparents Phelton and Woodsey Gravely Pack; and maternal grandparents Don and Arnie Harvey Hatfield. Buford Glen Lester, 85, of Oceana, WV, went home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Thursday, August 6, 2015 at his home. He was born on July 13, 1930 in Verner, WV, a son of the late Auldie Fitzgerald and Angie Browning Lester. Buford was a member of the UMWA and a deacon for many years at the Greenbranch Freewill Baptist Church, Man, WV. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his loving wife of 61 years Mary Ilene Hatfield Lester; a brother Frank Lester; and five sisters Grethel Walls, Loraine Azar, Marcella Lester, Georgia Lester and Rebecca Lester. Those left to cherish his memory include his children Glen Lester, Buddy Lester and wife Debbie, Bobby Lester, Brenda Vande Linde and husband Frank all of Oceana, Donna Lester and husband William of Kopperston, WV and Patty Hutchinson and husband Larry of Oceana; grandchildren Chris Lester and wife Mandy of Jesse, Jeff Lester and wife Lisa, Amanda Lester and Tonya Baker all of Oceana, Shawn Vande Linde of NC, Samantha Toler and husband Braden of Montgomery, Billy Lester of Kopperston, Shannon Ferguson, Kimberly Davis and husband Wetzel all of Wyoming, Shane Lester and wife Haley of Sublette, Kansas and Jason Hutchinson of Welch, WV; and a host of other loving family and friends. John William Lozier, 81, of Oceana, WV, passed away on Monday, August 10, 2015 at his home. He was born on July 5, 1934 in Sophia, WV, a son of the late Anthony John and Agnes Caualiski Lozier. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his wife of 59 1/2 years Shirley Mae Rippeth Lozier; and a son Michael David Lozier. Those left to cherish his memory are a son John and Tammie Lozier of Bolt; two granddaughters Stephanie and Alan Williams and Tara and Jesse Meade all of Bolt; four great grandchildren Kylie Snodgrass, Alexis Snodgrass, Hailey Williams and Logan Williams; and a host of other loving family and friends. Ronald Douglas "Ronnie" Massey, 64, of Oceana, WV, passed away on Saturday, August 15, 2015 at Princeton Community Hospital, Princeton, WV. He was born on January 23, 1951 in Clear Fork, WV, a son of the late Hicks and Nellie Cline Massey, Jr. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by a sister Lilly Crouse; and a brother Raymond Massey. Survivors include his wife of 22 years Charlotte Ann Clark Massey; two step-sons Timmy (Stephanie) Bailey of Oceana and Terry Bailey of Beckley; two brothers Roger (Elena) Massey of Lillyhaven and Larry (Mae) Massey of Crany; and a host of other loving family and friends. Virginia Lovelene Belcher Toler, 85, of Oceana, WV, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, August 18, 2015 at Bluefield Regional Medical Center, Bluefield, WV. She was born on September 21, 1929 in Simon, WV, a daughter of the late Bud Lee and Lakie Cline Belcher. She enjoyed attending the Oceana Freewill Baptist Church when able to do so. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband Epha Toler; a son Ronnie Toler; a daughter Devonda Brumfield; and a brother Ward Belcher. Survivors include a son Bill Toler and wife Kathryn of Kopperston; a daughter-in-law Annette Toler of Wolf Pen; a son-in-law Donald Brumfield of Oceana; two grandchildren Chris Toler of Pineville and Deon Toler of Wolf Pen; a sister-in-law Virginia Belcher of Oceana; and a host of other loving family and friends. Funeral services will be held at noon on Friday, August 21, 2015 in the Chapel of Stafford Family Funeral Home, Lynco, WV, with Rev. Algie Cook officiating. She will be laid to rest in Palm Memorial Gardens, Matheny, WV. Friends may gather with the family from 11:00 AM until time of service on Friday, August 21, 2015 at the funeral home.
