Elizabeth Peak

Funeral services for Elizabeth Peak, 76, of Garden City will be at 3:30 p.m. Friday, March 7, 2003 at Moss Service Chapel, Wayne Wiseman officiating, with burial in Jones Chapel Cemetery.

Moss Service Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Peak died Tuesday, March 4 at Cullman Regional Medical Center. She was born April 30, 1926 to William B. and Margaret E. Allen Saver. She was a homemaker.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Survivors include two sons, Patrick James Peak of Garden City and Keith Lamar Peak of Hanceville; a daughter, Kathleen Embly of Roswell, N.M.; three brothers, Richard Allen Saver of N. Little Rock, Ark., Gene Saver of Coldwater, Mich. and Dennis Saver of Avondale, Ohio; seven sisters, Geraldine DuBuque of Ontario, Calif., Beverly Doering of Jackson, Mich., Bernadine Oliver and Emily Saver of N. Little Rock, Ark., Judith Antocak and Patricia Moore of Dearborn Heights, Mich. and Donna Jean Barnes of Inkster, Mich.; eight grandchildren, James Peak, Ashley Peak, Gregory Peak, Athena Higgins, Shay Dickinson, David Embly, Gaynette Freeland and Melanie Estrada; and 11 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. today.

Ervil Goodwin

Graveside services for Ervil Goodwin, 73, of Cullman will be at 2 p.m. Friday, March 7, 2003 at Goodwin Cemetery, the Rev. David McDonald officiating.

Moss Service Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Goodwin died Tuesday, March 4 at Hanceville Nursing Home. He was born Dec. 9, 1929 to Lonnie and Lillie Mae Sullivan Goodwin. He was self-employed.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Johnnie Cofer Goodwin; a son, Ervil “BB” Goodwin; and three brothers, Vernon, J.D. and Wallace Goodwin.

Survivors include two sons, Kent Goodwin and Kerry Goodwin; two daughters, Juanita Cofield and Kay Cofield; two sisters, Florence Wilson and Gaynell Turner; 10 grandchildren, Shawn Cofield, Tina Al-Dijaili, Tamika Cofield, Joe Cofield, Lakisha Cofield, Brandon Ballard, Tania Ballard, Anthony Cofield Jr., Kent Goodwin Jr. and Kerry Goodwin Jr.; 11 great-grandchildren; and special friend, Hellen Henderson.

Visitation will be at 5:30 p.m. today.

Julius Frederick Williams

Funeral services for Julius Frederick Williams, 80, of Vinemont will be at 11 a.m. Friday, March 7, 2003 at Cullman Heritage Chapel, Randy Williams officiating, with burial in Flint Creek Cemetery.

Cullman Heritage Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Williams died Tuesday, March 4 at the Floyd E. “Tut” Fann Veterans Home in Huntsville. He was born April 15, 1922 in Cullman County. He was a farmer, a veteran of the U.S. Navy, having served during World War II and was a member of the VFW. He was a member of the Cullman County Soil and Water Conservation District Board of Supervisors for 37 years. He has been a supervisor emeritus for the past seven years.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Zabert Spurgeon and Lillian Gertrude Ray Williams.

Survivors include his wife, Lois McIntyre Williams; a son, Randy (Joan) Williams of Cullman; a daughter, Suzanne (John) Creel of Gardendale; a sister, Pauline Cox of Florida; seven grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Leldon William Teichmiller Sr.
Funeral services for Leldon William Teichmiller Sr., 75, of Cullman will be at 11 a.m. Friday, March 7, 2003 at Williams-McCracken Chapel, Len “Bud” Perkins officiating, with burial in Mt. Carmel Cemetery.

Williams-McCracken Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Teichmiller died Wednesday, March 5 at Cullman Regional Medical Center. He was born in Cullman on June 4, 1927 to Henry Joseph and Estell Hamrick Teichmiller. He was a millright for commercial construction and a veteran of the U.S. Navy.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Thelma Teichmiller; and a son, Bill Teichmiller.

Survivors include a son, Mark (Kathy) Teichmiller of Cullman; three grandchildren, Joseph Teichmiller and Jennifer Teichmiller Yahn, both of Cullman and Libby Wood of Birmingham; and six great-grandchildren, Austin and Cheyenne Teichmiller, Kristin and Katelyn Yahn, all of Cullman, and Kuri and Carly Wood of Birmingham.

Visitation was Thursday.

Elizabeth Peak

Arvester Hines Skinner

Funeral services for Arvester Hines Skinner, 85, of Warrior will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 8, 2003 at Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church, Hiram Avery officiating, with burial in Colony Cemetery.

Moss Service Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Skinner died Feb. 26, 2003 at UAB Hospital. She was born July 26, 1917 in Alabama to the Rev. George and Claudia Avery Hines. She was a homemaker.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Parker Skinner; a daughter, Emma K. Twitty; two grandsons, Fred Twitty Jr. and Lonnie James Twitty; and a granddaughter, Glenda Love.

Survivors include three daughters, Mary Frances Harbin of Cleveland, Ohio, Claudean Ollison of Warrior and Barbara Marsh of Hanceville; two sons, George Twitty of Memphis, Tenn. and Fred V. Twitty of Hazelgreen; 27 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; and 47 great-great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today.

Timothy ‘Tim’ W. Nation Nichols

Funeral services for Timothy “Tim” W. Nation Nichols, 33, of Cullman will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 8, 2003 at Hanceville Funeral Home, the Revs. Frank C. Butts and Margaret Handrix officiating, with burial in Cullman City Cemetery.

Hanceville Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Nichols died March 5 at his residence. He was born in Birmingham on June 26, 1969.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Bobby Nichols; a sister, Jennifer Nichols; and his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. T.L. Dycus.

Survivors include his parents, Robert and Kathy Nichols of Cullman; two sisters, Carolyn Freeman of Cullman and Janet Willingham of Baileyton; a brother, Ken Harper of West Blockton; two nephews, Connor Willingham and Gage Willingham, both of Baileyton; and two nieces, Ashley Freeman and Tabitha Freeman, both of Cullman.

Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Lonie Mae Chambers

Funeral services for Lonie Mae Chambers, 91, of Cullman will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, March 8, 2003 at Cullman Heritage Chapel, Roger Chambers and Tommy Graves officiating, with burial in Flint Creek Cemetery.

Cullman Heritage Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Chambers died Wednesday, March 5 at her residence. She was born Jan. 3, 1912 in Cullman County to Arthur Washington and Cora Lee Shikles Pope. She was retired from the King Pharr Cannery and was a member of Brickyard Baptist Church for 55 years.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, George Washington Chambers; a brother; and five sisters.

Survivors include two sons, Bobby D. (Joyce) Chambers and George K. (Bobbie) Chambers, both of Cullman; a daughter, Mary Sue (James) Eubanks of Falkville; three sisters, Mamie McLarty and Ruth Bisidas of Texas and Gredith Screws of Vinemont; 12 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and nine step-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Brian Eubanks, Robert Eubanks, Roger Chambers, Jimmy Chambers, Kirk Chambers and Scottie Chambers.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Hospice of Cullman County.

Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Gladys Nance Arnold
Funeral services for Gladys Nance Arnold, 92, of Hanceville will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, March 9, 2003 at Moss Service Chapel, the Rev. Jack Collins and Bruce Tucker officiating, with burial in Cullman Memory Gardens.

Moss Service Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Arnold died Thursday, March 6 at her residence. She was born Sept. 2, 1910 to James C. and Mattie Fell Nance. She was a retired school teacher with 45 years in Cullman county and city schools and was a member of Seventh Street Baptist Church for over 50 years.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Charlie Pickett Arnold; and her parents.

Survivors include a sister, Maurine Nance Poore; niece, Lora P. (Marlin) Tucker; a nephew, Dale A. (Anita) Poore; two great-nephews, Bruce (Laura) Tucker and Jacob Poore; a great-niece, Lacy Poore; and a great-great-niece, Katelynn Tucker.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Hospice of Cullman County or to a favorite charity.

Visitation will be from noon to 2 p.m. Sunday prior to the service.

Arvester Hines Skinner

Funeral services for Arvester Hines Skinner, 85, of Warrior will be at 12 a.m. Saturday, March 8, 2003 at Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church, Hiram Avery officiating, with burial in Colony Cemetery. The body will lie in state one hour prior to the service.

Moss Service Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
