Edward ‘Buddy’ Brock
Services for Edward “Buddy” Brock, 69, of Cullman were Tuesday, Dec. 11, 2001 at Williams-McCracken Chapel, the Revs. Curtis Cockran and Carlton Bates officiating, with burial in Bethsadia Cemetery.

Williams-McCracken Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Brock died Saturday, Dec. 8 at his residence. He was born Dec. 31, 1931 in Cullman County to Odis Franklin and Maudre Thomas Brock. He was a sheet metal worker and a veteran of the U.S. Army.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Wallace Bates; and a sister, Ella Faye Doedtman.

Survivors include his wife, Agnes Marie Thompson Bates Brock of Cullman; three sons, Levi Brock and Dennis (Kathy) Bates, both of Cullman, and Dale (Judy) Bates of Dalton, Ga.; three daughters, Jan M. Brock and Beverly (Marlon) Bates, both of Cullman, and Shelda (Evon) Johnson of Bremen; two brothers, Bobby Brock of Cullman and Jimmy Brock of Hanceville; three sisters, Jean Brock of Cullman and Dean Fields and Freida Partain, both of South Carolina; and 11 grandchildren, Barry Johnson, Kim Johnson, Russel Johnson, Randy Bates, Evelyn Brown, Keith Bates, Cristie Bates, Jammie Bates, Leslie Bates, Jeremy Bates and Lindsey Bates.

Visitation was Monday.

Richard Earl Hulsey

Services for Richard Earl Hulsey, 68, of Vernon will be at 1 p.m. Friday, Dec. 14, 2001 at Chandler Funeral Chapel in Vernon, Doug Thompson and James Waldon officiating, with burial in Walnut Grove Cemetery in Millport.

Chandler Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Hulsey died Tuesday, Dec. 11, 2001 at his residence. He was born May 30, 1933 in Alabama to Ira Lymon and Margie Lucille McBrier Hulsey. He was a level 78 asbestos worker and a veteran of the U.S. Army.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Survivors include his wife, Betty Stanley Hulsey of Vernon; two sons, Richard L. (Tina) Hulsey of Ft. Mitchell and Kevin Ray Hulsey of Cullman; three daughters, Denise (Randy) Holmes and DeAnn McDonald, both of Cullman and Connie (Bobby) Tibbles of Huntsville; a brother, Roy (June) Hulsey of Kearney, Neb.; a sister, Hazel (Bill) Young of Cullman; and eight grandchildren, Brett McDonald, Derek McDonald, Corey Holmes, all of Cullman, Alyssa Tibbles, Dalton Tibbles, Hunter Tibbles and Christian Tibbles, all of Huntsville, and Nathaniel Hulsey of Ft. Mitchell.

Visitation was Thursday.

Mattie McDonald

Services for Mattie McDonald, 87, of Danville will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 15, 2001 at Peck Funeral Home Chapel, the Rev. Robert Coleman officiating, with burial in Forrest Chapel Cemetery.

Peck Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. McDonald died Thursday, Dec. 13 at her residence. She was born in Morgan County on May 4, 1914 to William Steve and Sara Lynch Ramsey. She was a homemaker, farmer and of the Baptist faith.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Dock McDonald; and a son, Hal McDonald.

Survivors include three sons, James McDonald of Decatur, J.D. McDonald of Cullman, Billy Dock McDonald of Addison; four daughters, Arlin Edmondson of Danville, Linda Cooper of Decatur, Betty Cooper of Moulton, Lillie Jones of Sevierville, Tenn.; one sister, Ruthie Pearl Bradford of Calif.; 32 grandchildren; 65 great-grandchildren; and 27 great-great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Kevin Edmondson, Mark Cooper, Dennis McDonald, Mike Wiggins, Mickey Wiggins, Charles McDonald.

Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Delinda Estes McGriff Highsmith
Services for Delinda Estes McGriff Highsmith, 91, of Falkville will be at 3 p.m. Monday, Dec. 17, 2001 at Moss Service Chapel, Jimmy W. Greathouse, Millard Mann and Carlos Wilhite officiating, with burial in New Hope No. 2 Cemetery.

Moss Service Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Highsmith died Saturday, Dec. 15 at her residence. She was born in Alabama on Nov. 3, 1910 to Homer David and Lilla Burks Estes. She was a homemaker.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husbands, Will McGriff and M.V. Highsmith; son, Dillard McGriff, sister, Maggie Parker, brother, Roscoe Estes; and great-grandson, Little Tim Mann.

Survivors include three daughters, Linda (Carlos) Wilhite, Wilma (Millard) Mann, Jeanette Whitley; one son, H.D. (Joyce) McGriff; three sisters, Nellie Lambert, Eula Elrod, Alean Bright; 14 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; half-sister Eleanor Aaron; and step-sister, Thelma Wesley.

Visitation is at 4:30 p.m. today.

Evia Lorene Calvert

Services for Evia Lorene Calvert, 79, of Cullman will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 16, 2001 at Moss Service Funeral Home Chapel, Doyle Bullard and Gene Persall officiating, with burial in Persimmon Grove Cemetery.

Moss Service Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Ms. Calvert died Friday, Dec. 14 at Cullman Regional Medical Center. She was born in Alabama on Feb. 8, 1922 to Mills and Mollie McSwain Calvert. She was a homemaker.

Survivors include two sisters, Oletta Graves and Jewell Vandiver.

Visitation was Saturday.

Margaret Fromhold

Margaret Fromhold, 71, died Saturday, Dec. 15, 2001 at Cullman Regional Medical Center.

Funeral arrangements will be announced by Moss Service Funeral Home.

Carolyn I. Kilpatrick

Services for Carolyn I. Kilpatrick, 45, of Cullman will be at 1 p.m. Monday, Dec. 17, 2001 at Moss Service Funeral Home Chapel, Mr. Shedd officiating, with burial in Cullman City Cemetery.

Moss Service Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Kilpatrick died Friday, Dec. 14 at her residence. She was born Nov. 21, 1956.

She was preceded in death by her brother, James David Herring.

Survivors include her husband, Charles Clark Kilpatrick; two sons, Philip Edward Gunsaules, Christopher Clark Kilpatrick; daughter, Wendy Carol Romans; parents, Inez and David Herring; three sisters, Patricia Phillips, Donna Herring, Sandra Stone; and one grandchild, Jacob Romans.

Visitation will be at 5 p.m. today.

Rev. Dewitt Hobson Rasco

Services for the Rev. Dewitt Hobson Rasco, 87, of Baileyton will be at 2 p.m. Monday, Dec. 17, 2001 at Holly Pond Funeral Home Chapel, Charles Miller and the Revs. David Carroll and Terry Blankenship officiating, with burial in Mt. Pisgah Cemetery.

Holly Pond Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Rev. Rasco died Saturday, Dec. 15, 2001 at his residence. He was born in Odenville on March 1, 1914 to Thomas J. and Jesse Crumbley Rasco. He was a farmer and retired Presbyterian minister.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and two grandson, Tony and Ty Rasco.

Survivors include his wife, Sibyl Miller Rasco of Baileyton; six sons Bobby (Betty) Rasco, Berry (Sherri) Rasco both of Baileyton, Coy (Carolyn) Rasco of Decatur, Buck (Betty) Rasco of Welcome, Terry (Debbie) Rasco of Smith Lake, Glennis (Debbie) Rasco of Holly Pond; three daughters, Marzie (Aaron) Carroll of Joppa, Linda (Pete) Johnson of Vinemont, Joann (John) Gately of Fairview; brother, Tom Rasco; three sisters, Lucille Smith, Nola Cramer, Jeanette Nunn; 23 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will his grandsons.

Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. today.

Connie Price

Services for Connie Price, 84, of Oneonta will be at 11 a.m. Monday, Dec. 17, 2001 at Valley Chapel of Oneonta, the Rev. Dan Sims officiating, with burial in Blount Memory Gardens.

Valley Chapel Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Price died Friday, Dec. 14 at Hanceville Nursing Home. She was born in Alabama to E.C. and Beulah Pearl Baker Huffstutler. She was retired from Vanity Fair Clothing and was a member of Park Avenue Baptist Church in Oneonta.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband, Joseph Earnest Price .

Survivors include her son, Joseph Eugene (Jean) Price of Oneonta; four daughters, Elsie P. (Robert) Sweatman of Birmingham, Barbara P. (Earnest) Norton of Decatur, Bonnie P. (Michael) Taitano of Oakland, Tenn., Rosie P. (Chal) McManus of Hanceville; 14 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

Pallbearers will be Jamie McAnnally, Joel Price, Russell Price, Jeff Bradford, Reid Norton, Eugene Powell, Edward Morgan and Ray Bradford.
