Helen T. Anderson
ATHENS - Helen Thompson Anderson, 82, of 420-B Hargrove St. died Saturday at a local hospital. The graveside service will be Tuesday at 4 p.m. at Roselawn Cemetery with the Rev. Kenneth Staggs officiating.
Mrs. Anderson was retired from Wellesley College, Wellesley, Mass., and was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth W. Anderson, and one sister, Ethel Foster .
Survivors include one niece, Priscilla Bennett of Shillington, Pa.; and three nephews, Jerry Roberts, Bill Powers Jr. and Jeri Powers, all of Athens.

Maggie A. Burdine
Maggie Alice Burdine, 93, of Huntsville died Saturday at her home. The graveside service will be Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Cameron Cemetery with the Rev. Mitchell Williams officiating.
Spry Funeral Home is in charge of burial arrangements.
Mrs. Burdine was a lifelong resident of Madison County. She was a member of Cameron United Methodist Church.
Survivors include one son, William M. Burdine of Huntsville; one granddaughter, Karen Cotton of Huntsville; and one great-granddaughter, Caroline Cotton of Huntsville.
Visitation will be today from 6 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
Donations may be made to Cameron United Methodist Church.

Alice Cornett
FLAT ROCK - Alice Cornett, 91, died Saturday. The funeral will be today at 1 p.m. at Kerby Funeral Home in Henagar.
Burial will be in Beulah Cemetery in Cartersville.
Mrs. Cornett was a member of the Dove Ministry House of Prayer in the Shiloh community.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Carl Cornett Sr.; one daughter, Billie Dove; and two sons, Carl W. Cornett Jr. and Dallas Cornett.
Survivors include four daughters, Coleda Bishop of Fort Wayne, Ind., and Frances Lawson, Betty Holly and Darlene Goins, all of Flat Rock; four sons, Doyle Cornett of Fort Wayne, Gene Davis of Trenton, Ga., and Hugh Cornett and Olan Cornett, both of Flat Rock; 35 grandchildren, 51 great-grandchildren and 34 great-great-grandchildren.

Ricky R. Curry
TONEY - Ricky Roger Curry, 36, died Tuesday at his home. The funeral will be Wednesday at 1 p.m. at Pine Grove Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. Mylon Burwell officiating.
Burial will be in Pine Grove Cemetery with Nelms Funeral Home in charge.
Survivors include his mother, Hattie Maclin and stepfather, Clarence Maclin, both of Huntsville; four sisters, Shirley Bines, Rose Lyle, Darlene Pierce, all of Cleveland, Ohio, and Novella Brown of Huntsville; three brothers, Orlando Curry of Detroit, Norman Curry of Kaiserslauten, Germany, and Bernard Curry of Huntsville; two stepsisters, Kimberly Troupe and Vicky Fuqua, both of Tanner; and two stepbrothers, Larry Maclin and Harold Maclin, both of Madison.
His body will be at the church one hour prior to the funeral.

Elizabeth T. Flowers
MONTGOMERY - Elizabeth Thorington Flowers died Saturday. The graveside service will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Green wood Cemetery with the Rev. Chilton Thorington officiating.
Leak Memory Chapel Funeral Home is in charge of burial arrangements.
She is survived locally by one son, John M. Thorington Jr. of Huntsville.

Don A. Howard
Don Alan Howard, 45, died
Saturday at a local hospital. The funeral will be Tuesday at 11:30 a.m. at Laughlin Service Chapel with the Rev. John Dees officiating.
Burial will be in Holly Pond Cemetery in Cullman County at 2:30 p.m. with Laughlin Service Funeral Home in charge.
Mr. Howard was a member of Willowbrook Baptist Church. He was a partner of the firm Howard and Aldridge. He was a member of the Huntsville-Madison County Bar Association, Alabama State Bar Association and had an active practice in all federal courts.
Survivors include his wife, Becky Howard of Huntsville; three daughters, Ashley Howard, Lauren Howard and Kitty Howard, all of Huntsville; one brother, David Howard of Germantown, Tenn.; his parents, Bud and Ann Howard of Huntsville; and several nephews and a niece.
Visitation will be today from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Joseph T. Hudson
Joseph T. Hudson, 59, of Huntsville died Saturday at a local hospital. The funeral will be today at 2 p.m. at Gallant Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Larry Johnson officiating.
Burial will be in Blanche Cemetery in Lincoln County, Tenn.
Mr. Hudson was a native of Madison County. He was a diesel mechanic for Ryder Rental Trucks and member of Oakley Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Betty L. Hudson; one daughter, Rhonda Hopkins of New Market; one son, Rodney Hudson of New Market; his mother, Ozella Hudson of New Market; one stepdaughter, Sharon Mierzejewski of Gautier, Miss.; one stepson, Kerry Sumners of Athens; six sisters, Roberta Edwards and Lillie Perry, both of New Market, Mary Frances Swinford of Tippcity, Ohio, Lucinda Fort of Crestview, Fla., Lorine Shelton of Flintville, Tenn., and Faye Mullins of Pulaski, Tenn.; three brothers, Billy Hudson of Huntsville, Andrew Hudson of Flintville and Leroy Hudson of Fairborn, Ohio; and two grandchildren, three step-grandhcildren and one great-grandchild.

Lee J. Hudson
Dr. Lee J. Hudson, 67, of Huntsville died Friday at a local hospital. The funeral was Sunday with the Rev. Sam Wolfe officiating.
Burial was in Twickenham Cemetery with Spry Funeral Home in charge.
Dr. Hudson was a native of Mississippi and was pastor of Heritage Baptist Church for 26 years and of Pineview Baptist Church for four. He was co-founder and president of Heritage Bible College, served as moderator of the Madison Baptist Association, and was a member of the Executive Committee of the Alabama Baptist State Convention.
He was president of the Greater Huntsville Ministerial Association, member of the Superintendents Advisory Committee of the Huntsville Public Schools, volunteer chaplain for the Huntsville Police Department and Huntsville Hospital and was a member of Woodland Hill Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Ruth Hudson; two sons, Tim Hudson of Chattanooga and Mark Hudson of Huntsville; his mother, Gertrude Hudson of Brookhaven, Miss.; two brothers, Paul Hudson of Gulfport, Miss., and T.C. Hudson of McHenry, Miss.; two sisters, Susie Peden of Jackson, Miss., and Betty Carlyn of Brookhaven; and three grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one sister, Clara Peusch.
Donations may be made to the Heritage Bible College or to the Gideons Bible Fund.

Clarence E. Hughes
DAWSON - Clarence Erby Hughes, 77, died Friday at his home. The funeral was Sunday at W.T. Wilson Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Mike Isbell officiating.
Burial was in Beulah Cemetery.
Survivors include his wife, Jewell Smith Hughes; three daughters, Dianne Nail of Dawson, Irene Maddox of Glencoe and Connie King of Centre; three sons, Dewayne Hughes, Robert Hughes and Roy Neal Hughes, all of Dawson; one sister, Robbie Joy Shrader of Hollywood; one brother, Thomas E. ''Tom Hughes of Austell, Ga.; and nine grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Joshua M. Johnson
MADISON - Joshua Michael Johnson, infant son of Jason and Jessica Johnson, died Saturday at a local hospital. Madison Chapel Funeral Home will announce funeral arrangements.
Other survivors include one brother, Shane Morris of Madison; his grandparents, Vanie Morris of Madison, Frankie Morris of Green briar and Wayne and Pearly Mae Johnson of Augusta, Ga.

Sara W. Jones
Sara W. Jones, 83, of Huntsville died Sunday at a local nursing home. The funeral will be Tuesday at 9 a.m. at Laughlin Service Funeral Home chapel.
Burial will be in White Rose Cemetery in Gibson, Tenn., at 3 p.m.
Mrs. Jones was a member of the First Baptist Church since 1956. She was retired from Civil Service in 1980.
Survivors include one son, George Haschal Jones Jr. of Huntsville; and three grandsons.
Visitation will be today from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
Donations may be made to First Baptist Church, 600 Governors Dr., Huntsville, AL 35801, c/o Childrens Home.

H.A. Labbee II
H.A. ''Hal Labbee II, 85, of Huntsville died Thursday at a local hospital. The funeral will be Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Valhalla Funeral Home chapel.
Burial will be in Huntsville Memory Gardens with Valhalla Funeral Home in charge.
Mr. Labbee was a decorated veteran of the U.S. Army who served in World War II and Korea. He retired from the civil service in 1995.
Survivors include his wife, Patricia Dean Daniels Labbee; two daughters, Annette Labbee of Huntsville and Nancy Labbee of Dallas; and one son, Robert Labbee of Dallas.
Visitation will be Tuesday from noon to 2 p.m. at the funeral home.

Jayne H. Lowry
Jayne Honea Lowry, 77, of
Huntsville died Sunday at a local hospital. Laughlin Service Funeral Home will announce funeral arrangements.
Burial will be in Maple Hill Cemetery with Laughlin Service Funeral Home in charge.
Mrs. Lowry was well-known for her community service work, particularly in promoting, sustaining and advancing the arts. Some of the organizations to which she made contributions were: Huntsville Pilgrimage Association (founder and first president), Womens Guild of the Huntsville Museum of Art, Huntsville Symphony Orchestra Guild, Randolph School, Humane Society, Friends of the Symphony, Community Ballet Association, Huntsville Chamber Music Guild, Alliance Francaise, Huntsville Literary Association, Huntsville City Cemetery Advisory Board, Friends of Library, Gothic Guild, AAUW, Huntsville Historic Foundation, Arts Council Inc., Opera Society of Huntsville, Huntsville Historic Preservation District Association, Huntsville Youth Orchestra, Focal, Madison County Womens Scroll of Honor Award, Lifetime Achievement Award.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Samuel Hickman Lowry.
Survivors include two daughters, Martha Lowry Richard of Huntsville and Sandy Lowry of Chicago; and nine grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Vivian R. Mashburn
BRIDGEPORT - Vivian Ruth Mashburn, 75, died Saturday at an area hospital. The funeral will be Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Rudder Funeral Home in Stevenson with the Revs. Owen Durham and David Smith officiating.
Burial will be in Cumberland View Cemetery in Kimball, Tenn.
Survivors include two daughters, Brenda Poe of Jasper, Tenn., and Sherry Thomas of Bridgeport; three sisters, Betty Sparks and Carolyn Tanner, both of Bridgeport, and Judy Gass of Stevenson; three brothers, Roland Smith of Whitwell, Tenn., Harold Smith of San Diego and Gurney Smith of Bridgeport; and five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be today from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Robert Moorman Sr.
Robert Searcy Moorman Sr., 87, of Huntsville died Sunday at a local hospital. The graveside service will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Maple Hill Cemetery with the Rev. Coy Hallmark officiating.
Burial will be in Maple Hill Cemetery with Laughlin Service Funeral Home in charge.
Mr. Moorman was retired from Rohm-Haas Co. He was one of the first to attain the rank of Eagle Scout in Madison County and was a member of First United Methodist Church.
Survivors include three sons, Robert S. Moorman Jr. of Huntsville, William R. Moorman of Baton Rouge, La. and M. Ridley Moorman of Denver; one brother, Dr. John Dement Moorman of Huntsville; one sister, Sarah Moorman Shaver of Huntsville; and seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be today from 4:30 to 6 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mattie F. Potter
Mattie Fay Potter, 57, of Huntsville died Saturday at a local hospital. The funeral will be Tuesday at 2:30 p.m. at Spry Funeral Home chapel.
Burial will be in Valhalla Memory Gardens with Spry Funeral Home in charge.
Mrs. Potter was a native of Madison County.
Survivors include her husband, Thomas G. Potter; four sons, Michael Wayne Potter of Hazel Green, Thomas Gilbert Potter and Stephen Alan Potter, both of Huntsville and Wallace Ray Potter of Flintville, Tenn.; five sisters, Joyce Bartlett and Leudell Brown, both of Huntsville, Vivian Lambert of Morgan City, Glenda Wolfe and Minnie Perry, both of Taylor, S.C.; one brother, Ray Sharp of Huntsville; and 10 grandchildren.
Visitation is today from 5 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Rossie M. Rutland
Rossie M. Rutland, 93, of Huntsville died Sunday at her home. The graveside service will be Tuesday at 10 a.m. at Huntsville Memory Gardens with Spry Funeral Home in charge.
Mrs. Rutland was a lifelong resident of Huntsville. She was preceded in death by her husband, Murphy Rutland, and one daughter, Alice F. Shafer.
Survivors include three daughters, Peggy Guthrie of Pensacola, Fla., Gerry King and Betty Johnson, both of Huntsville; and 12 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation is today from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Kimberley D. Samples
Kimberley Diane Samples, 45, of Huntsville died Saturday at her home. The funeral will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Valhalla Funeral Home chapel with the Revs. Carl Malm and Johnny Padalino officiating.
Burial will be in Valhalla Memory Gardens.
Miss Samples was a graduate of Butler High School and member of Southside Baptist Church.
Survivors include her parents, Jean and Carl Samples of Huntsville; one sister, Carla Jo Zimlich of Huntsville; her aunt, Norma Hampson of Knoxville; and two nephews and a niece.
Visitation will be Tuesday from 10 to 11 a.m. at the funeral home.

Barbara Smith
Barbara Smith, 52, of Huntsville died Saturday at her home. Laughlin Service Funeral Home will announce funeral arrangements.
Mrs. Smith was a former school teacher at Morris Elementary School and former Human Resource Manager for Lesco.
Survivors include her husband, Paul D. Smith; one son, Paul D. Smith Jr. of Charlotte, N.C.; her mother, Margaret Foreman of Lewisburg, Tenn.; one sister, Kay Luttrell of Lewisburg; and four brothers, Jim Wheat of Lewisburg, Kenneth Wheat of Hedgesville, W.V., Leonard Wheat of Portland, Ore., and Ray Wheat of Sacramento, Calif.
Visitation will be Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Ruth W. Turner
Ruth Watson Turner, 92, of Huntsville died Sunday at her home. The graveside service will be Tuesday at 10 a.m. at Huntsville Memory Gardens with the Rev. Gary Ward officiating.
Laughlin Service Funeral Home is in charge of burial arrangements.
Mrs. Turner was a charter member of Latham United Methodist Church. She was a lifelong resident of Madison County. She was preceded in death by one daughter, Martha Turner.
Survivors include her husband, Arthur Turner; two daughters, Linda Turner Each and June Turner Shapior, both of Huntsville; two sons, Charles Thomas Turner of Huntsville and Raymond Turner of Cordova, S.C.; one brother, Charles ONeal Watson of Huntsville; and three grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
