Alabama, U.S., County Marriage Records, 1805-1967 - 1814-1935

Michael James Ward

Michael James Ward, a veteran of the U.S. Army, died Saturday in a hospital in Biloxi. He was 46.

Ward, a native and resident of Mobile, formerly lived in Sacramento, Calif.

Survivors include three children, Michael J. Ward Jr. Richard Ward and Sharon Ward, all of Sacramento; his father, Willie Ward of Mobile; two brothers, Willie Ward Jr. of Sacramento and Harold Ward of Mobile; and one sister, Renetta Battle of Mobile.

Viewing will be at Christian Benevolent Funeral Home after noon on Wednesday with visitation from 6 p.m. until the 7 p.m. services. Burial will be at at 9:15 a.m. Thursday in the National Cemetery in Biloxi.

James Edward Byrd

CAMDEN, Tenn. - James Edward Byrd, a native Mobilian and resident of Camden, died Saturday at the age of 45.

Survivors include his wife, Ramona Byrd; his father, Otis Byrd; his grandmother, Wilhemina Tay lor; one brother, Nicky Byrd; and two sisters, Vernell Douglas and Samantha Lofton.

Visitation will be at Lighthouse of Praise Holiness Church in Mount Vernon, Ala., on Wednesday from noon until the 2 p.m. graveside services in Byrd Cemetery. Radney Funeral Home in Saraland is in charge of arrangements.

Betty Christine Hall

LANSING, Mich. - Betty Christine Hall, a former resident of Alabama, died Sunday at a hospital in Lansing after a long illness. She was 74.

Mrs. Hall was a native of Paris, Tenn., and a resident of Dimondale.

Survivors include her daughter, Carol Perhne of Dimondale; two sons, Andrew Hall of Dimondale and Robert Hall of Mobile; her brother, Douglas Anderson of Tennessee; four grandchildren; two great-granddaughters; and one great-great-grandson.

Services are set for 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Field & Leik Funeral Home, 122 W. Washington, in Dimondale. Burial will be in Delta Center Cemetery.

Susan C. Telhiard

Susan Caroline Telhiard, who had served as a volunteer at Providence Hospital, died Wednesday at a local hospital.

Miss Telhiard, a native of Pensacola, lived in Mobile for 32 years. She sang in the choir at St. Mary's Catholic Church and attended ceramics classes at the Mary Abbie Berg Senior Citizens Center.

Survivors include her mother, Eunice S. Telhiard of Mobile; four sisters, Sandra Zalimeni of Ashtabula, Ohio, Yvette Clifton and Linda Lauzon, both of Mobile, and Eunice Hartley of Enfield, Conn.; six brothers, David Telhiard of Pride, La., Deek Telhiard of Baton Rouge, La., Bruce Telhiard of Bethel, Conn., John Telhiard of Pensacola, Tom Telhiard of Daphne and Rick Telhiard of Mobile.

Visitation will be at 5 p.m. today at Radney Funeral Home on Dauphin Street with the rosary recited at 7 p.m. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday at Little Flower Catholic Church. Burial will be in Pine Crest Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.

Elige Bell Jr.

Elige Bell Jr., a retired machine operator with Mobile Gypsum Plant, died Sunday at the age of 85.

Bell was a native of Orrville, Ala.

Survivors include his wife, Hannah Bell; five children, Arthur Williams and Addie Lee Riddle, both of Orrville, Annie M. Curtis and Ethel Irby, both of Mobile, and Wesley Williams of Springfield, Mass.; two sisters, Callie Blanks of Mobile and Hattie Irby of Orrville; one brother, Lee Bell of Dolomite, Ala.; and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

Services are set for 2 p.m. Saturday at Memorial Funeral Home in Prichard with burial in Oaklawn Cemetery.

Maben Harrison

Maben Memphis Harrison, a veteran of the U.S. Air Force, died Wednesday at his home. He was 70.

Harrison was a native of Bashi, Ala., and a resident of Theodore for the past 36 years. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Theodore.

Survivors include his wife, Donna N. Harrison of Theodore; three daughters, Cindy Johnston and Sheila Wilson, both of Theodore, and Charlotte Childs of Jackson, Ala.; one son, Bryan Harrison of Theodore; two brothers, John Harrison and Jim Harrison, both of Thomasville, Ala.; seven sisters, Kathryn Smith of Robertsdale, Sybil Sarvis and Bernice Gates, both of Saraland, Joann Ganns of Selma, Gertrude Lyles and Cora Smith, both of Thomasville, and Margie Walker of Creola; six grandchildren; and three grandchildren.

Services are set for 2 p.m. today at Serenity Funeral Home with visitation from 10 a.m. until service time. Burial with full military honors will be in Serenity Memorial Gardens.

Barbara Widder

Barbara Widder, a native and resident of Mobile, died Wednesday in a local hospital from injuries sustained in a traffic accident. She was 20.

Survivors include her mother, Mary Bohanon of Mobile; her father, Jerry Widder of Mobile; her stepfather, Doug Bohanon of Mobile; her stepmother, Kathy Widder of Mobile; two sisters, Linda Wicker of Mobile and Christine Widder of Rainbow City, Ala.; three brothers, Franklin Widder, David Yates and Ronald Bohanon, all of Mobile.

Visitation will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home with graveside services at 3 p.m. in Mobile Memorial Gardens.
