Alabama, U.S., County Marriage Records, 1805-1967 - 1814-1935

Mr. Alwin O. Strong:
A lifelong resident of Mobile died at his home Wednesday, December 22, 1999 at the age of 78 years. He served as a Marine Sargent in the South Pacific during World War II for three years. He was a member of D.A.V., National V.F.W. Local #45. Mr. Strong was a member of the National Marine Corp Lea gue and the local Marine organization "P.L. Wilson Detachment, Inc." He is survived by his wife, Joyce E. Strong; three children, Michael Strong, Renee Dever and Suzanne Strong, three grandchildren, Ashley Dever, James Strong and Brandon Rodgers; a sister, Lillian Moore, nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. Funeral services will be Friday, December 24, 1999 at 10:00 a.m. from Government Street Baptist Church with interment in Mobile Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be at the church from 9 a.m. until service time at 10 a.m. Funeral arrangements are by RADNEY FUNERAL HOME, 3155 Dauphin St, Mobile, AL 36606.

Mr. Bobby J. Taylor:
A native of Sylacauga, AL. A resident of Mobile, died in a local hospital Wednesday, December 22, 1999. Mr. Taylor was a retired Barber and past Barber Commissioner of Mobile County. He was also a board member of the Waterfront Rescue Mission. He is survived by his wife Ellenor Ruth Taylor, One daughter, Elizabeth Marie Mathis of Mobile; two sons, Tony Ray Taylor and Michael David Taylor both of Mobile; four grandchildren, Angela Nelson, Ellenor Loeser both of Mobile, Stephanie Taylor of Dothan, and Nicole Glassen of Mobile; one great granddaughter Julia Nelson; nieces, nephews, and other relatives. Visitation was held Thursday, December 23, 1999, 5:00 to 8:00 pm at the funeral home. Funeral services will be held Friday December 24, 1999 at 10:00 am from the Chapel of the Radney Funeral Home. Interment will be in Forest Lawn Memorial Garden. Arrangements by RADNEY FUNERAL HOME, 3155 Dauphin Street Extension, Mobile, AL 36606.

Mrs. Ramona C. Lyons:
Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated from St. Michael's Catholic Church. Father William N. Gorman, celebrant. Con-celebrant was Father Luis Suffredini. Acolyte was Donald Dorr. Honorary pallbearers was Curtis Mallon. Active pallbearers were Edward A. "Buster" Lyons, Sr., Mark Vincent Collier, Donald Johnson, Doug McClure, Augustus Lyons, Joe Lyons, Sean Johnson and Weldon Collier, Jr. Interment was in Dorlon Cemetery, Herron Bay. Funeral arrangements were by MAGNOLIA FUNERAL HOME, 5817 Grelot Rd, Mobile, AL.

Sister Wilma Odell Runderson "Dell":
A native of Mobile County, Alabama, former resident of Mobile, AL and resident of Saraland, AL, born December 29, 1916 and passed Sunday, December 19, 1999. She was a member of Christ Temple Apostolic Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Mr. Fred Runderson. Cherishing her memories are one sister, Annie Mae Shula, Mobile; one aunt, Margarette Stallworth, Saraland; two nephews, Hayward N. Shula, Sr . and Carl Runderson of Mobile; four nieces, Syble Runderson, Pinkey McKinley and Rosanna Jackson, all of Mobile and Leola Barren of Birmingham, AL; a host of great nieces and nephews; three god-daughters, one devoted, Froncean Bell of Saraland, AL, Stephanie Pace of Saraland and Bertha Pugh of Olympia Field, IL; a host of other relatives and friends. Her remains will lie in state at Christian Benevolent Funeral Home, December 26, 1999 from 12:00 until 5:00PM and after 10: 00 AM Monday, December 27, 1999 at Christ Temple Apostolic Church, 801 Virginia St. Visitation will be from 11:00 until 12:00 Noon at which time Bishop James E. Finely, Pastor will conduct the funeral service. Interment will follow in Oaklawn Cemetery. Arrangements by CHRISTIAN BENEVOLENT FUNERAL HOME, INC. 201 N. Hamilton St., Mobile, AL., 36603 .

Mr. Elmer Baker:
A resident of Mobile, AL died Friday, De. 24, 1999 at a local health care facility. Visitation will be held on Monday Dec. 27, 1999 from 5:00 to 8:00 PM at Serenity Funeral home. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, Dec. 28, 1999 at 12:00 noon from the Chapel of Serenity Funeral Home followed by interment at Serenity Memorial Gardens. Funeral arrangements are by Serenity Funeral Home, 8691 Old Pascagoula Rd., Mobile, AL.

Mr. Morgan Layaffette Bishop:
Age 86, a native of Barnwell, AL and a resident of Mobile, AL for many years died in a local hospice on Thursday, December 23, 1999. Mr. Bishop was a member of a mystic society. A 32nd degree Mason, a member of the Abba Shrine Temple Nomads Clown Division. He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Mrs. Phyllis Bishop of Mobile, AL; one son, Richard (Joyce) Bishop of Cupertino, CA; daughters, Jean (Tom) Cain of Mobile, AL and Patricia (Ronnie) Roberts of Foley, AL; sister, Alma Huffman of Mobile, AL; sisters-in-law, Dulcie (Arthur) Bishop of Mobile, AL and Jo Baker of Michigan; brothers-in-law, Fred Baker of Michigan; 13 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren, and 8 great-great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews and other relatives. Funeral services will be held on Monday, December 27, 1999 from the Chapel of Pine Crest Funeral Home at 2:00 P.M. Visitation will be held from 12:00 Noon until service time. Family request in lieu of flowers that donations be made to the American Cancer Society. Interment will be in Pine Crest Cemetery. Arrangements by PINE CREST FUNERAL HOME, 1939 Dauphin Island Parkway, Mobile, AL 36605. (334) 478-5227.

Mrs. Prudence Mildred Blackwell:
A native of Autauga, CO and a resident of Mobile, AL died at a local hospice on Friday, December 24, 1999. She is survived by two sons, James McArthur of Mountain Creek, AL and David McArthur of Sarasota, FL; three daughters, Eloise McArthur of Mountain Creek, AL, Vera Watson of Theodore, AL and Beatrice Goins of Mobile, AL; one sister, Bernice Stephen of Mobile, AL; nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, December 29, 1999 from the chapel of Pine Crest Funeral Home at 3:00 P.M. Visitation will be from 1PM until service time. Family request memorials be made to the Salvation Army or to your favorite charity. Interment will be in Pine Flat Cemetery in Wetumpka, AL. Arrangements by PINE CREST FUNERAL HOME, 1939 Dauphin Island Parkway, Mobile, AL 36605. (334) 478-5227.
