HARTSELLE -- Funeral for Freda McDonald Bishop, 88, of Falkville and formerly of Huntsville, will be Friday at 11 a.m. at Peck Funeral Home with the Rev. Phillip Hines officiating.

Burial will be in Byrd Cemetery in Madison County. The family will receive friends tonight from 6 to 9 at the funeral home.

Mrs. Bishop died Wednesday, Dec. 13, 2000, at Summerford Nursing Home. She was born Oct. 27, 1912, in Huntsville to Charles McDonald and Laura M. Maples McDonald. She was a member of First Cumberland Presbyterian Church and a homemaker.

Survivors include one son, Keith Bishop of Hartselle; one sister Alyene McKague; and two grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Mike Howard, Vernon Parsons, L.O. Bishop, Don Martin, Ron Harvell and Jan Morris.

Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Foundation.

Earl Draper
73, assembly worker

HARTSELLE -- Funeral for Earl Draper, 73, of Decatur will be Friday at 1 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home with the Rev. Jimmy Smith officiating.

Burial will be in Forrest Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends tonight from 6 to 8 at the funeral home.

Mr. Draper died Wednesday, Dec. 13, 2000, at Decatur General Hospital. He was born Aug. 23, 1927, in Madison County to Raymond Draper and Alma Draper. He was a Korean War veteran and a retired assembly worker at Aero-Quip.

Survivors include two brothers, William H. Draper of Decatur and Charles Draper of Boaz; two sisters, Pauline Echols of Somerville and Eva Carter of Decatur.

Pallbearers will be Wayne Rodgers, Roger Echols, Larry Shadden, Ricky Echols Jr., Matt Shadden and Mike Davis.

Louise Ferguson
55, secretary

HARTSELLE -- Funeral for Louise Ferguson, 55, of Vinemont will be Friday at 3 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home with the Rev. Ted Agee officiating.

Burial will be in Hartselle Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends tonight from 6 to 8 at the funeral home.

Mrs. Ferguson died Wednesday, Dec. 13, 2000, at her home. She was born June 25, 1945, in Jefferson County to Sam Henry Lackey and Annie Louise Lackey. She was a Baptist and a secretary at Compass Bank in Decatur.

Survivors include one son, Jimmy Johnson of Vinemont; three brothers, Vernon Lackey of Hartselle, Randy Lackey of Birmingham and Ronnie Lackey of Dallas, Ga.; one sister, Terrie Owens of Clarksville, Tenn.; and one granddaughter.

Pallbearers will be Donald Waddell, Ray Miller, Bob Perry, Ricky Lackey, Murry Brewer and Sam Steele.

Lorena Gainous Henson
97, homemaker

Funeral for Lorena Gainous Henson, 97, of Decatur was to be today at 2:30 p.m. at Roselawn Funeral Home with the Rev. Hal Noble and Rev. John Clotfelter officiating.

Burial was to be in Roselawn Cemetery.

Mrs. Henson died Tuesday, Dec. 12, 2000, at Decatur General Hospital. She was born March 13, 1903, in Wigham, Ga., to Henry Ervin Gainous and Annie Boyette Gainous. She was a homemaker and a member of Central United Methodist Church for 50 years and Mizpah Chapter 19 of the Eastern Star. She was the widow of Edgar L. Henson and mother of the late Brunelle Dees and Howard Vincent Dees.

Survivors include one daughter, Ilene King of Decatur; five grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers were to be Donald Branum, Michael Tidwell, Walter Spears, Edwin Davidson Jr., John Eyster, John Cook, Scot Brothers and Jim Mynes.

Memorials may be made to Central United Methodist Church building fund.

Sara 'Tay' Malone
83, homemaker

FOLEY -- Graveside service for Sara "Tay" Malone, 83, of Spanish Fort will be Friday at 11 a.m. at Pine Rest Memorial Park with the Rev. Julian Walthall and the Rev. Frederick Widmer officiating and Pine Rest Funeral Home directing.

Mrs. Malone died Wednesday, Dec. 13, 2000, at Thomas Hospital in Fairhope. She was born April 5, 1917, in Opelika. She and her late husband, Bennie Malone, were longtime Decatur residents. She was a homemaker.

Survivors include one sister, Frances Planner of Spanish Fort.

Memorials may be made to Spanish Fort Presbyterian Church, 6620 Spanish Fort Blvd., Spanish Fort, AL 36527.

Willis Earl 'Hitchhiker' Morris Jr.
75, assembly line worker

HARTSELLE -- Funeral for Willis Earl "Hitchhiker" Morris Jr., 75, of Hartselle will be Saturday at 1 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home with the Rev. Reynolds Hall and the Rev. Jamie Suggs officiating.

Burial will be in Johnson Chapel Cemetery, which will include a military graveside service. The family will receive friends Friday night from 6 to 9 at the funeral home.

Mr. Morris died Wednesday, Dec. 13, 2000, at Hartselle Medical Center. He was born Sept. 22, 1925, in Morgan County to Willis Earl Morris Sr. and Mary Allie Harvel Morris. He was a Navy veteran of World War II and was a member of the Disabled Veterans Chapter 52. He worked in the assembly line at Fruehauf Trucking.

Survivors include his wife, Ruby Hazel M. Morris; six sons, Bruce McDonald of Decatur, Jerry McDonald of Athens, Billy McDonald and John McDonald, both of Hartselle, Ronnie Morris of Tuscaloosa and Edward Morris of Danville; six daughters, Lynda McCay, Mary Jane Moore and Peggy Russell, all of Hartselle, Francis Ann Garner of Ardmore, Tenn., Jannett McDonald of Decatur and Nelda Morris; two brothers, Louis Morris and R.B. Morris, both of Hartselle; one sister, Mary Helen Long of Hartselle; 27 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Roy Fortenberry, Troy Fortenberry, Gregory McDonald, Steven Smith, Bobby McDonald and Jerry Dewayne McDonald.

Vervil Louise 'Van' Pugh
68, homemaker

MOULTON -- Funeral for Vervil Louise "Van" Pugh, 68, of Moulton will be Friday at 2 p.m. at Parkway Funeral Home with the Rev. James Brock and the Rev. Anthony Simmons officiating.

Burial will be in East Lawrence Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends tonight from 6 to 8:30 at the funeral home.

Mrs. Pugh died Wednesday, Dec. 13, 2000, at her home. She was born Jan. 22, 1932, in Cullman County, to Floyd Wiley and Mary Lula Wiley. She was a homemaker.

Survivors include her husband, Riley Pugh Jr.; three sons, Wayne Pugh of Decatur, Gary Pugh of Hillsboro and Toney Pugh of Deridder, La.; one daughter, Linda Kerby of Moulton; two brothers, Ova Hogeland of Trussville and W.P. Hogeland of Gardendale; 13 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.

Grandsons and church members will be pallbearers.

Mamie Irene Ryan

HIGHLAND, Ind. -- Funeral for Mamie Irene Ryan, 81, of Hammond, Ind., formerly of Hartselle, will be Monday at 11 a.m. at Kuiper Funeral Home with the Rev. Johnny Colsten officiating.

Burial will be in Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens in Schereville, Ind. The family will receive friends Sunday night from 5 to 9 at the funeral home.

Mrs. Ryan died Wednesday, Dec. 13, 2000, at Community Hospital in Munster, Ind. She was born Aug. 6, 1919, in Hartselle to Thomas Jefferson Wright and Narcie Johnson Wright. She was a homemaker and a member of First Baptist Church of Hammond. She was the sister of the late Bruce Wright, the late Meldon Wright, the late Thomas Wright, the late Coy Wright, the late Ellis Wright, the late Herman Wright, the late Oley Mae Hardiman, the late Pauline Millican, and the late Narcie Simmons.

Survivors include one son, Troy B. Ryan of Sun Lakes, Ariz.; three daughters, Eileen Pepper and Narcie Ferrell, both of Hammond, Ind., and Crystal Light of Muncie, Ind.,; five grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Agnes Truette

LEWISBURG, Tenn. -- Funeral for Agnes Truette, 81, of Lewisburg, Tenn., will be Friday at 2 p.m. at London Funeral Home with Robert Jackson officiating.

Burial will be in Lone Oak Cemetery in Lewisburg. The family will receive friends tonight beginning at 5 at the funeral home.

Mrs. Truett died Tuesday, Dec. 12, 2000, at Maury Regional Hospital in Columbia, Tenn. She was born Nov. 16, 1919, in Tennessee. She was a native of Marshall County, Tenn., a homemaker and a member of the Church of Christ. She was the widow of L. A. Truette and the sister of the late Carol Coffield.

Survivors include one daughter, Patricia Bullington of Athens; three granddaughters and three grandsons; and 10 great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Frank Coffield, Andy Coffield, Darren Coffield, Larry Bullington, Greg Patrick, J. W. Harper, Johnny Chunn and Bobby Thompson.

Dena Jane Anderson Williams
82, retired cook

ATHENS -- Funeral for Dena Jane Anderson Williams, 82, of Elkmont, will be Friday at 10 a.m. at McConnell Funeral Home with Everett Conn, Lowell Blankenship and Kasey Harbin officiating.

Burial will be in Athens Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends tonight from 6 to 9 at the funeral home.

Mrs. Williams died Wednesday, Dec. 13, 2000, at Huntsville Hospital. She was born March 20, 1918, in Bemus, Tenn., to Rufus Art Anderson and Lula Jordan Anderson. She worked as a cook at John Black's Café in Elkmont. She was a resident of Limestone County most of her life and was a member of the Sandlin Road Church of Christ. She was the widow of John Buford Williams and the mother of the late Mary Williams Hobbs.

Survivors include two sons, Jimmy Williams of Athens and John A. Williams Sr. of Elkmont; one daughter, Sarah Kimbrell of Athens; two brothers, Eugene Anderson of Madison and Edward Anderson of Atlanta, Ga.; one sister, Mildred Tymkiw of Slidell, La.; 12 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

Grandsons will be pallbearers.

Maxine Callahan
60, homemaker

HARTSELLE -- Funeral for Maxine Callahan, 60, of Hartselle will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at Peck Funeral Home with the Rev. Ralph Henderson officiating.

Burial will be in Somerville Church of God Cemetery. The family will receive friends tonight from 6 to 8 at the funeral home.

Mrs. Callahan died Wednesday, Dec. 13, 2000, at Athens Regional Medical Center in Athens, Tenn. She was born Sept. 11, 1940, in Morgan County to Luke Freeman and Lula Mae Strickland Freeman. She was a member of Serenity Baptist Church and a homemaker.

Survivors include her husband, Robert Callahan; one son, Harold Callahan of Hartselle; one daughter, Bobbie Faye Nix of Hartselle; two brothers, Junior Waugh of Hartselle and Bobby Waugh of Somerville; two sisters, Dorothy Anderson of Montgomery and Laverne Thompson of Moulton; and four grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Matt Adcock, Franklin Atchley, Jason Dunaway, Kenneth Eddy, Robert Johnson and Ed Skelton.

Nyna Aileen Freeman
91, bookkeeper

HARTSELLE -- Funeral for Nyna Aileen Freeman, 91, of Hartselle was to be today at 4 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home with the Phillip Hines officiating.

Burial was to be in Hartselle City Cemetery. The family was to receive friends today from 2 to 4 at the funeral home.

Mrs. Freeman died Wednesday, Dec. 13, 2000, at Summerford Nursing Home. She was born May 9, 1909, in Morgan County to George Greek Freeman and Era Powell Freeman. She was a member of Hartselle Church of Christ and the sister of the late Mabel Freeman. She was bookkeeper for Sivley Cotton Co. for many years.

Survivors include one sister, Hazel Kirk of Hartselle.

Pallbearers were to be Reynolds Howard, Bill Kelly, Ed Monroe, Dee Proctor, Don Wear and Granville Woodruff.
