ATHENS -- Funeral for Donna Jean Jarrett, 50, of Athens will be today at 3 p.m. at Limestone Chapel Funeral Home with the Rev. Roy Lee Jarrett officiating.

Burial will be in Limestone Memorial Gardens.

Mrs. Jarrett died Friday, March 16, 2001, at Athens-Limestone Hospital. She was born Sept. 29, 1950, in Blytheville, Ark., to Johnny and Lois Sawyers. She was a manager at Taco Bell in Athens.

Survivors include her husband, Donnie Jarrett; three sons, Glenn Jarrett and Donald Wayne "Punkin" Jarrett Jr., both of Athens, and Randall Jarrett of Chicago; two daughters, Donna Michelle Hargrove and Laura Jean Jarrett, both of Athens; one brother, Jerry Wayne Sawyers of Athens; two sisters, Shirley Rothman of Chicago and Kay Noble of Paris, Tenn.; and nine grandchildren.

Lucille M. Kirby
62, seamstress

TRINITY -- Funeral for Lucille M. Kirby, 62, of Trinity will be Monday at 2 p.m. at Flat Creek Baptist Church with the Rev. Bobby Bentley officiating.

Burial will be Flat Creek Cemetery with Parkway Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends tonight from 6 to 8 at the funeral home.

Mrs. Kirby died Saturday, March 17, 2001, at her home. She was born March 5, 1939, in Lawrence County, to Veto and Eveline Meherg. She was a seamstress. She was the sister of the late Dalton Meherg and Joel D. Meherg.

Survivors include her husband, Bennett Kirby; two sons, Rickey Kitchens and Richie Kirby, both of Trinity; one daughter, Tammy Kirby Dutton of Trinity; one brother, Colbert Meherg of Moulton; and seven grandchildren.

Nephews will be pallbearers.

Max David Lauderdale
71, retired carpenter

ATHENS -- Funeral for Max David Lauderdale, 71, of Elkmont will be today at 2 p.m. at Spry Funeral Home with Warren Glass officiating.

Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery.

Mr. Lauderdale died Friday, March 16, 2001, at Athens-Limestone Hospital. He was born March 27, 1929, in Limestone County to Sam Lauderdale and Ladye Harvell Lauderdale. He was a retired carpenter and a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War. He was a member of Market Street Church of Christ.

Survivors include his wife, Annette Lauderdale; one stepson, Randy Doyle Davis of Tuscaloosa; three sisters, Stella Goodin, Jane Meredith and Betty Janell Bates, all of Athens; and six step-grandchildren.

Eleanor Howard Mansell
86, homemaker

ATHENS -- Funeral for Eleanor Howard Mansell, 86, of Athens will be Monday at 10 a.m. at Limestone Chapel Funeral Home with the Rev. Bo Grace officiating.

Burial will be at 1 p.m. at Tri City Memorial Gardens in Florence. The family will receive friends today from 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mrs. Mansell died Friday, March 16, 2001, at Huntsville Hospital. She was born Dec. 30, 1914, in Minor Hill, Tenn., to Benjamin and Agnes Howard. She was a homemaker and a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church. She was the widow of Grogan Holland Mansell.

Survivors include two sons, Clifford Mansell and Don Mansell, both of Athens; one daughter, Agnes Rowe of Jasper; one brother, Charlie Howard of Florence; one sister, Imogene Battle of Livingston; 17 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to Shriners Hospital for Crippled Children.

Sabrina Denise Oakley

HUNTSVILLE -- Funeral for Sabrina Denise Oakley, 36, of Vinemont will be Monday at 10:30 a.m. at Spry Funeral Home with the Rev. Randy Makemson officiating.

Burial will be in Ebenezer Cemetery in Vinemont at 2 p.m. The family will receive friends today from 4 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Miss Oakley died Friday, March 16, 2001, at Huntsville Hospital. She was born Aug 31, 1964, in Morgan County. She was a former resident of Huntsville and Cullman and graduated from Huntsville High School in 1984. She was a member of Faith Baptist Church of Vinemont.

Survivors include her father and stepmother, Ferris and Lynda Oakley of Cullman; her mother, Donnis Halburg of Huntsville; two brothers, Keith Oakley of Moulton and Shannon Oakley of San Diego; three stepbrothers, Scotty Kinsler of Cullman, Steve Halburg of Chicago and Marc Halburg of Huntsville; three stepsisters, Paige Hart of Cullman, Susanne Ponder of Huntsville and Lori Allen of Portland, Ore.; and her grandparents, R.C. and Wilma Royer of Hartselle.

Beatrice Russ Rogillio
96, homemaker

TALLULAH, La. -- Funeral for Beatrice Russ Rogillio, 86, of Decatur will be Monday at 2 p.m. at First United Methodist Church of Tallulah with the Rev. Fred Fulton officiating.

Burial will be in Silver Cross Gardens of Memory in Tallulah. The family will receive friends at the church one hour before the service.

Mrs. Rogillio died Saturday, March 17, 2001, at Sunbridge Care and Rehabilitation Center. She was born March 4, 1905, in Tallulah to Robert Russ and Lula Parnell Russ. She was a homemaker and a member of First United Methodist Church of Tallulah for 88 years. She was the granddaughter of the founder of Ruston, La.

Survivors include three daughters, Lulabe Furr of Bossier City, La., Mary Alice Wall of Farmerville, La., and Bay Naylor of Decatur; 10 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.

Grandchildren will be pallbearers.

Memorials may be made to First United Methodist Church of Tallulah.

Cavan Curtis Stanford
Infant

HARTSELLE -- Graveside service for infant Cavan Curtis Stanford of Decatur will be today at 2 p.m. at Upton's Chapel Cemetery with the Rev. Dewitt Crowe and the Rev. Chris Martin officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing.

The infant died Friday, March 16, 2001, at Children's Hospital in Birmingham. He was born March 14, 2001.

Survivors include his parents, Curtis and Kimberly Brown Stanford of Decatur; and his grandparents, Lamar and Linda Brown of Danville and Ellon Bridges of Gaffney, S.C.

George Orville Williams Sr.
82, Church of Christ minister

ATHENS -- Funeral for George Orville Williams Sr., 82, of Athens will be Monday at 3 p.m. at Limestone Chapel Funeral Home with George O. Williams Jr. and Dan Binkley officiating.

Burial will be in Valley View Cemetery. The family will receive friends tonight from 6 to 9 at the funeral home.

Mr. Williams died Saturday, March 17, 2001, at Athens-Limestone Hospital. He was born Aug. 14, 1918, in Limestone County to William Anderson Williams and Lota Rogers Williams. He was a lifetime resident of Athens and a longtime Church of Christ minister. He taught at Athens Bible School for 13 years. He also was a farmer and a contractor, and sold insurance and real estate.

Survivors include his wife, Marietta Williams of Athens; one son, George O. Williams Jr. of Athens; one daughter, Sherry Williams Goode of Montgomery; seven grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter.

Grandsons will be pallbearers.

Memorials may be made to Athens Bible School.

Mary Wanda Garrison-Powers
63, retired NASA secretary

Mary Wanda Garrison-Powers, 63, of Huntsville died Saturday, March 17, 2001, at her home.

A private funeral will be held at a later date. Ridout's Brown-Service Funeral Home is directing arrangements.

Mrs. Garrison-Powers was born Oct. 31, 1937, in Morgan County to Arthur Jeff Garrison Sr. and Dovie Mae Roden Garrison. She was a retired secretary from NASA, where she worked for 17 years.

Survivors include her husband, William T. Powers; one daughter, Serenity Powers, formerly Philena Clemons, of Priceville; one brother, Arthur Jeff Garrison Jr. of Hartselle; and one sister, JoAnn Johnson of Somerville.

Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association.

Esmond E. Ginn
89, retired millwright

BIRMINGHAM -- Funeral for Esmond E. Ginn, 89, of Birmingham will be Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Roebuck East Chapel Funeral Home with the Rev. Ed. Hanson and the Rev. Tim Trimble officiating.

Burial will be in Forest Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends tonight from 5:30 to 8 at the funeral home.

Mr. Ginn died Saturday, March 17, 2001, at the home of his daughter in Decatur. He was born Aug. 1, 1911, in Whiteside, Tenn. He was a retired millwright, truck driver and tool and die setter. He was a member and past master of the Masonic Lodge and a member of the Zamora Temple.

Survivors include three sons, Carl E. Ginn of Glen-Burnie Md., Jimmy R. Ginn of Albuquerque, N.M., and Gerald G. Ginn of Pelham; two daughters, Margia Partain of Decatur and Bonnie J. Hackney of Amelia, Ohio; three brothers, Homer Ginn of Florence, Gerald Ginn of St. Petersburg, Fla., and Fred Ginn of Klamath Falls, Ore.; two sisters, Polly Thorpe of St. Petersburg, Fla., and Pat Markus of Dallas; 12 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to the Alabama Alzheimer's Association.

Mildred Pauline Kelley

Mildred Pauline Kelley, 69, of Trinity died Sunday, March 18, 2001, at her home. The family will receive friends Tuesday night from 6 to 9 at Ridout's Brown-Service Funeral Home. The funeral home will announce further arrangements.

Carrie Nell McCaig

HARTSELLE -- Funeral for Carrie Nell McCaig, 68, of Falkville will be Tuesday at 1:30 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home with the Rev. Jack Lovelace officiating. Burial will be in Falkville City Cemetery. The family will receive friends tonight from 6 to 8 at the funeral home.

Ms. McCaig died Sunday, March 18, 2001, at Decatur General Hospital. She was born July 21, 1932, in Morgan County to William Earl McCaig and Viola Wallace McCaig. She was a member of Falkville First Baptist Church. She was the sister of Charles McCaig and Jack McCaig.

Survivors include one brother, Robert McCaig of Falkville; four sisters, Earline Jones of Guntersville, Betty Holmes of Decatur, Becky Overton of Hartselle and Sandra Mason of Falkville.

Nephews will be pallbearers.

Marcus H. Pettus
90, retired salesman

Funeral for Marcus H. Pettus, 90, of Hartselle will be Tuesday at 3 p.m. at Roselawn Funeral Home with the Rev. J.W. Vickers officiating.

Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 1 to 3 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mr. Pettus died Sunday, March 18, 2001, at his home. He was born March 26, 1910, in Lauderdale County to Robert Lee Pettus and Sally Mitchell Pettus. He was a salesman and retired from Wykers Hardware Store. He also worked at Ingalls Shipbuilding during World War II. He was a member of Memorial Drive United Methodist Church for 60 years. He lived in Decatur most of his life and played baseball and softball with the city league.

Survivors include his wife, Annie Pettus; one son, Robert Don Pettus of Hartselle; one daughter, Sara McClanahan Logue of Decatur; one brother, Harvel Pettus of Lexington; one sister, Elease McGuire of Lexington; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Bobby McGuire, Sam Newton, Neal McGuire, Clyde Hand, Glenn Johnson and Max Patterson.
