Keith Lewis

ARDMORE -- Funeral for Keith Lewis, 25, of Elkmont will be Friday at 2 p.m. at Taylor-Ardmore Funeral Home with the Rev. Benny Colvette officiating.

Burial will be in Antioch Cemetery. The family will receive friends tonight from 6 to 9 at the funeral home.

Mr. Lewis died Sunday, Jan. 6, 2002, in Elkmont. He was born Sept. 30, 1976, in Limestone County. He was a supervisor at International Wire Co. of Elkmont. He was the grandson of the late Kace and Dorothy Haggenmaker and Bill Rodgers.

Survivors include his wife, Penny Lewis; one son, Jordan Keith Lewis of Elkmont; his mother, Donna Haggenmaker Hardiman, and stepfather Charles Hardiman of Elkmont; one brother, Lee Rodgers of Elkmont; three stepsisters, Tonia Montgomery, Tina Sandlin and Dee Sharp, all of Elkmont; and his grandmother, Grace Rodgers of Elkton, Tenn.

Pallbearers will be Todd Fain, David Presnell, Brian Hill, Vic Cofer, Mike Sandlin, Chris Sharp, Levi Montgomery and Larry Hargrove.

Employees of International Wire Co. will be honorary pallbearers.

Keython Rashad Taylor

Graveside service for infant Keython Rashad Taylor will be Friday at 1 p.m. at Roselawn Cemetery with Roselawn Funeral Home directing.

The infant died Saturday, Jan. 5, 2002, the day of his birth, at Decatur General Hospital.

Survivors include his parents, Rhonda Taylor and Clifford E. Mason, both of Decatur; two brothers, Isaiah Taylor and Rhiheem Taylor, both of Decatur; one sister, Tamesha Taylor of Decatur; his grandfathers, Ronald Taylor of Decatur and Keathon Haun of Courtland; and his grandmother, Barbara Hampton of Decatur.

Carl Thomas Vernon

BELLA VISTA, Ark. -- Funeral for Carl Thomas Vernon, 66, of Bella Vista will be Saturday at 10 a.m. at Bella Vista Funeral Home with Cal Stewart officiating.

Burial will be in Bella Vista Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday night from 6 to 8 at the funeral home.

Mr. Vernon died Wednesday, Jan. 9, 2002, at Washington Regional Hospital in Fayetteville, Ark. He was born April 19, 1935, in Danville to James Carlus Vernon and Cora Ellen White Vernon. He moved to Bella Vista from Rogers, Ark., 10 years ago, where he was co-owner of AC Rebuilders until his retirement.

Survivors include one daughter, Carol Richards of Bentonville, Ark.; three sisters, Eloise Vernon, Merle Dean Kelsoe and Doris Stewart, all of Danville; two grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter.

Buford Gatlin
HARTSELLE -- Graveside service for Buford Gatlin, 84, of Eloy, Ariz., and formerly of Alabama, will be Monday at 10:30 a.m. at New Salem Cemetery in Limestone County with Peck Funeral Home directing.

Mr. Gatlin died Tuesday, Jan. 8, 2002, in Casa Grande, Ariz. He was born May 17, 1917, in Alabama to Mason Gatlin and Lela Gatlin. He was a farmer and brother of the late Dorothy Tucker and Etoria Shindlburrow.

Survivors include three brothers, James W. Gatlin of Atlanta, Van Buron Gatlin of Mesa, Ariz., and Calvin L. Gatlin of Hartselle; and five sisters, Doro Smith of Casa Grande, Ruby Hall of Hartselle, Evie Soebacke of Chicago, Mary Morgan of Eloy and Liz Simmons of Carefree, Ariz.

William 'W.G.' Littrell

MOULTON -- Funeral for William "W.G." Littrell, 80, of Moulton will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Larry Wright and the Rev. Dr. Darryl Wood officiating.

Burial will be in Moulton Memory Gardens with Elliott Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends tonight from 6 to 8 at the church.

Mr. Littrell died Thursday, Jan. 10, 2002, at NHC Healthcare in Moulton. He was born March 11, 1921, in Lawrence County, Tenn., to Andrew and Virginia Tidwell Littrell. He owned Littrell Lumber Co. in Moulton and was a longtime member of Moulton Lions Club and a lifelong member of First United Methodist Church, where he served on numerous church committees. He was assistant Scoutmaster of Boy Scout Troop 6 in Moulton.

Mr. Littrell was instrumental in bringing natural gas service to Moulton, where he served on the first natural gas board. He was a member of the Business Men's Organization and the Chamber of Commerce.

Survivors include his wife, Allene Wilkerson Littrell; two sons, James William "Bill" Littrell of Aikens, S.C., and Michael Payne Littrell of Moulton; two daughters, Sarah Littrell Williams of Birmingham and Melissa Littrell Smith of Dallas, Texas; one sister, Ava Littrell Barham of Moulton; and seven grandchildren.

Nephews will be pallbearers.

Memorials may be made to First United Methodist Church of Moulton Building Fund.

Torrence Lamar Malone

TANNER -- Funeral for Torrence Lamar Malone, 21, of Athens, will be Sunday at 2 p.m. at Central Church of Christ with the Rev. Roy Rutledge officiating and Peoples Funeral Home directing.

Burial will be in Hatchett Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday from 6 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mr. Malone died Wednesday, Jan. 9, 2002, in Athens. He was born Dec. 19, 1980, to Thomas Malone and Brenda Dobbins Wilson. He was a salesman for Just for Feet in Huntsville.

Survivors include his father of Athens; his mother of Athens; his step-father, Eddie Wilson of Athens; his step-mother, Peggy Malone of Athens; six brothers, Thomas Malone Jr., Marcus Malone, Justin Malone, Hakeem Wilson, Bobby Sledge and Monta Lewis, all of Athens; three sisters, Kesha Malone, Melissa McDonald and Tanika Malone, all of Athens; his grandfather, O.C. Baker of Madison; and his grandmothers, Emma Mae Dobbins of Athens and Gracie Baker of Madison.

John Michael 'Mike' McCullough

TRINITY -- Funeral for John Michael "Mike" McCullough, 46, of Moulton was to be today at 3 p.m. at Parkway Funeral Home with Mike Nix and Kenneth Johnson officiating.

Burial was to be in Moulton Memory Gardens.

Mr. McCullough died Wednesday, Jan. 9, 2002, at Decatur General Hospital. He was born July 8, 1955, in Morgan County, to Bert McCullough and Genevieve Jacobs McCullough. He was a 19-year employee of International Paper Co., where he was a roll finish operator. He was a member of the Church of Christ.

Survivors include one daughter, Leslie Myran McCullough of Moulton; his mother, of Moulton; and one brother, David McCullough of Moulton.

Pallbearers were to be Jim Thomas, Tony LouAllen, Eddie Owens, Ronnie Alexander, Mark McCullough and Larry White.

Members of the Red Hill Softball Team and the Red Hill Beagle Club were to be honorary pallbearers.

Audrey Ladsion 'Shawna' Paschal

Funeral for Audrey Ladsion "Shawna" Paschal, 29, of Hillsboro, will be Saturday at 1 p.m. at Bethlehem Primitive Baptist Church with the Rev. Samuel Green officiating.

Burial will be in Penny Cemetery with Sharpley Funeral Home directing. The body will be at the church one hour before the service.

Ms. Paschal died Monday, Jan. 7, 2002, in Hillsboro. She was born May 24, 1972, in Cleveland, Ohio, to Charles and Julietta Jackson. She was a former member of Wheeler Chapel Church and later joined Bethlehem P.B. Church. She was a graduate of East Tex High School in Cleveland and she was employed at Checkers.

Survivors include two sons, Eugene Paschal and Monty Paschal, both of Hillsboro; three daughters, Toyreionna Paschal, Terrionna Paschal and Terrjoanna Mayhan, all of Hillsboro; her parents of Hillsboro; one brother, Charles Jackson of Hillsboro; and her grandmother, Barbara Jean Paschal of Hillsboro.

Pallbearers will be Reggie Sharpley, Thomas Davis, Freddie Moore, Alan Burt, Derrick Davis and Billy Johnson.

Beatrice Cornett Shaddix

CULLMAN -- Funeral for Beatrice Cornett Shaddix, 83, of Eva was to be today at 2 p.m. at Bethel United Methodist Church with the Rev. Wayne Vincent and the Rev. Harold Thompson officiating.

Burial was to be in the adjoining cemetery with Williams-McCracken Funeral Home directing. The family was to receive friends one hour before the service at the church.

Mrs. Shaddix died Wednesday, Jan. 9, 2002, at Cullman Regional Medical Center. She was born Oct. 30, 1918, in Blount County to Albert Monroe Cornett and Ersie Clayton Cornett. She was a homemaker and the stepdaughter of the late Ola Hill Cornett, mother of the late Carolyn Shaddix, and sister of the late Bernard Cornett, Paul Cornett, Alvin Cornett, Emmalene Cornett and Dura Pack.

Survivors include her husband, Richard Shaddix of Eva; three sons, Charles Shaddix of Riverdale, Ga., Elton Shaddix of Eva and Danny "Tiny" Shaddix of Cullman; one daughter, Jane Wimbs of Eva; two brothers, Monroe Cornett and Larance Cornett, both of Cullman; three sisters, Madaline Horton of Eva, June Harris of Holly Pond and Nell Barbee of Cullman; nine grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Grandsons were to be pallbearers.

Micah McKinley Waple

Graveside service for Micah McKinley Waple, 3 months, of Decatur was to be today at 3 p.m. at Roundtop Cemetery with the Rev. Clyde Ledlow officiating and Shelton Funeral Home directing.

The family was to receive friends today from 1 to 2 p.m. at the funeral home.

The child died Thursday, Jan. 10, 2002, at Parkway Medical Center. He was born Oct. 14, 2001, in Decatur to Benjamin T. Waple and Amanda Carol Smith.

Survivors include his parents of Decatur; his grandparents, David and Debbie Waple and Jennifer Smith, all of Decatur; his great-grandparents, Irma Heim and Marilyn Gibbs, both of Taylor, Mich., Carolyn Ledlow of Ardmore, Sonny Smith of Eva, Freddie and Wanda Hailey of Hartselle and Rachel Self of Trinity; and his great-great grandmother, Carrie Ledlow of Hartselle.

W.C. Johnson
Funeral for W.C. Johnson, 73, of Decatur will be Sunday at 2 p.m. at Shelton Funeral Home with the Rev. Tom Holt officiating.

Burial will be in Burningtree Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends tonight from 6 to 8 at the funeral home.

Mr. Johnson died Thursday, Jan. 10, 2002, at Huntsville Hospital. He was born March 4, 1928, in Morgan County to Hubert Johnson and Lucy Self Johnson. He was retired from Monsanto after 41 years.

Survivors include his wife, Reba Johnson; two sons, Garry Don Johnson of Priceville and Terry Dale Johnson of Madison; three daughters, Shelia Kay Johnson of Cullman, Connie Lyn Smith and Donna D. McNalley, both of Priceville; one brother, Vernon Johnson of Decatur; nine grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Pallbearers will be Terry Johnson, Steven Johnson, David Murphree, Jimmy Cochran and Bruce Harville.

Gertrue Junkins Lee

HARTSELLE -- Funeral for Gertrue Junkins Lee, 89, of Falkville will be Sunday at 1 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home with the Rev. A. Ray Lee officiating.

Burial will be in Johnson Chapel Cemetery near Danville. The family will receive friends tonight from 6 to 8 at the funeral home.

Mrs. Lee died Thursday, Jan. 10, 2002, at Falkville Health Care Center. She was born Nov. 19, 1912, in Morgan County to John Hezekiah Junkins and Maude Gertrue Ward Junkins. She was a homemaker and a member of Danville Baptist Church. Her parents died when she was a child and her sister and brother in law, Beulah and Lelton Kilpatrick, reared her to adulthood. Mrs. Lee was the widow of Arthur Lee. She was the sister of the late J.D. Junkins, Cecil Junkins, Nova Kilpatrick, Lavenia Hicks, Dorothy Clark and Beulah Kilpatrick.

Survivors include three sons, Dr. Arthur Lee Jr. of Columbia, Mo., Dr. Max W. Lee of Dallas, Texas, and Ted D. Lee of San Antonio, Texas; two daughters, Edna Earle James of Danville and Linda Taylor of Hartselle; one sister, Loree Quattlebaum of Cullman; 12 grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Allen Lee, Bennett Lee, Glenn Lee, Jonathon Lee, Steven Lee, Tim Lee, John Mayfield, Dwight Taylor and Troy Taylor.

Memorials may be made to Hospice of the Valley, 215 Johnston St. S.W., Decatur, Al 35601, or to a favorite charity.

Elizabeth Lashy Royster

ATHENS -- Graveside service for infant Elizabeth Lashy Royster of Tanner will be today at 11 a.m. at Tanner United Methodist Church Cemetery with the Rev. Donald Terry officiating and McConnell Funeral Home directing.

The infant was born and died Wednesday, Jan. 9, 2002.

Survivors include her parents, of Steven Royster and Brenda Royster, of Tanner; two brothers, Jerry Clinard and Justin Clinard, both of Tanner; one sister, Michelle Champion, of Tanner; her grandparents, Wanda and Dale Royster of Athens and Ricky and Ester Andrews of Hazel Green ; her grandfather, Donnie Jarrett of Athens; her grandmother, Carolyn Tucker of Athens; and her great-grandmother, Margaret Baker of Athens.

David F. Wright

HARTSELLE -- Funeral for David F. Wright, 61, of Hartselle will be Sunday at 3 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home with the Rev. Milton Garrison officiating.

Burial will be in Herring Cemetery. The family will receive friends tonight from 6 to 8 at the funeral home.

Mr. Wright died Thursday, Jan. 10, 2002, at Hartselle Medical Center. He was born Nov. 6, 1940, in Morgan County to Edward Lenier Wright and Ola Tucker Wright. He was a truck driver for 32 years, the last five for the Morgan County Farmers Co-op, and was a dedicated farmer and avid gardener in his later years. Mr. Wright was the father of the late Frank Wright and Tommy Wright.

Survivors include his wife, Linda J. Wright of Hartselle; two sons, Joe W. Wright of Falkville and James D. Featherolf of Cartersville, Ga.; one daughter, Erica Vaughn of Cartersville, Ga.; three sisters, Carolyn Brock of Decatur, Ola Mae Coleman of Athens and Dean Wright of Sun City Center, Fla.

Pallbearers will be Ed Brock, Mark Coleman, Steven Smith, Robby Stephens, Daniel Vaughn and Douglas Wright.
