William O. Pence
February 1, 2000

A memorial service for William O. Pence, 45, of Melbourne, Fla., was Friday, February 11, at Bethany Baptist Church. His body was cremated and his ashes scattered at sea.
Mr. Pence died Tuesday, February 1, 2000, at Holmes Regional Medical Center. He was a native of Morgan County and a graduate of McEwen High School in Tennessee. He served 14 years in the U.S. Navy and was a postal worker for the Indialantic Post Office in Florida for the past 10 years.
He is survived by his wife of 21 years, Kathy Spence of Melbourne; one son, Randy Pence of West Melbourne; three brothers, James Pence of Somerville, Joseph Pence of Hardinsburg, Ind., and Simeon Pence of Decatur; and three sisters, Barbara Ann Henderson, Patricia Cathcart and Mildred Pence, all of Decatur.

Ann Gilliam
February 9, 2000

Funeral for Ann Gilliam, 56, of Kingsport, Tenn., was Friday, February 11, at Carter-Trent Funeral Home with the Revs. Dewey McCloud, Greg Street and Leonard Dixon officiating.
Burial was in Oak Hill Cemetery.
Mrs. Gilliam died Wednesday, February 9, 2000, at her residence She was a native of Morgan County and a member of Manville Apostolic Church. She operated an in-home day-care service and was the sister of the late Lucille Brewer, John C. Brewer, Roy Brewer, Jr., Bill Brewer and Henry Brewer.
She is survived by her husband of 40 years, William M. (Red) Gilliam of Kingsport; three sons, Ricky Gilliam of Bountville, Tenn., Junior Gilliam of Gray, Tenn. and Allen Faulk of Kingsport; one daughter, Debbie Shefa of Carrollton, Ga.; two brothers, Bud Brewer of Moulton and Pelham Brewer of Tanner; two sisters, Mary Kyle of Falkville and Sue Michalovic of Decatur; and four grandchildren.
Pallbearers were James Gilliam, Jerry Gilliam, Aaron Carr, Randy Monroe, Billy Ryans, Johnny Sampson, Jack Thompson and Harold Gilliam.

Bernice Culver Hardy
February 7, 2000

Funeral for Bernice Culver Hardy, 80, of Decatur was Thursday, February 10, at 2:00 p.m. at Roselawn Funeral Home with the Rev. Brooks Barkley officiating.
Burial was in Roselawn Cemetery.
Mrs. Harvey died Monday, February 7, 2000, at Parkway Medical Center. She was a native of Morgan County and a member of Southside Baptist Church for 53 years.
She is survived by her husband, W.B. Harvey of Decatur; one daughter, Kaye Clemons of Hartselle; four grandchildren; and four great grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Clark Bates, Randy Clemons, Brian Seals, Alan Clemons, Mark Ray, Jim Owens and Lamar Barkley.

Geraldine D. Lampkin
February 1, 2000

Funeral for Geraldine D. Lampkin, 58, of Hartselle was Friday, February 4, at 12:00 noon at Hartselle First Baptist Church with the Rev. Billy Young officiating.
Burial was in Burningtree Memorial Gardens.
Mrs. Lampkin died Tuesday, February 1, 2000, at Huntsville Hospital. She was a native of Morgan County and attended Stillman College in Tuscaloosa. She was employed at Copeland Corporation in Hartselle for 17 years and was a member of Hartselle First Baptist Church.
She is survived by her husband, William Lampkin of Hartselle; five sons, James Morris of Hartselle, Mike Morris of Trinity, William Lampkin of Childersburg, and Tyrone Campbell and Rodney Lampkin, both of Decatur; three daughters, Jacqueline Morris and Tomika Lampkin, both of Hartselle; and Carolyn Morris of Smyrna, Ga.; two brothers, Theodore Bevels of Lexington, Ky., and Lorenzo Burgess of Decatur; and 14 grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Williams Sharpley, Keith Orr, Kenny Orr, Trey Ward, Joe Davis and Derrick Williams.

Mary Lee Pugh
February 3, 2000

Funeral for Mary Lee Pugh, 70, of Hartselle was Sunday, February 6, at 1:00 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home.
Burial was in Hartselle City Cemetery.
Mrs. Pugh died Thursday, February 3, 2000, at Hartselle Medical Center. She was a native of Morgan County.
She is survived by four sons, James Donald Lee Pugh of Forsyth, Mo., Ronald Joe Pugh of Jacksonville, Fla., and David Lee Pugh and Kim Franklin Pugh, both of Hartselle; one brother, Delbert Jack Hill of Moulton; five sisters, Minnie Cook of Arley, Bertha Glover of Addison, Lavonia Gillott and Eloise Gillott, both of Hartselle, and Lois Hydo of Oakman; and three grandchildren.

Charles Ray Spence
February 3, 2000

Funeral for Charles Ray Spence, 71, of Hartselle was Sunday, February 6, at 2:00 p.m. at Roselawn Funeral Home.
Burial was in Roselawn Cemetery.
Mr. Spence died Thursday, February 3, 2000, at Hamilton Hospital. He was a native of Giles County, Tenn., and an automobile and mobile home salesman. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran of the Korean War.
He is survived by one son, Greg Spence of Decatur; his mother, Claudia Stewart Spence of Hartselle; and two grandsons.

Imogene Asherbranner Poole
February 5, 2000

Funeral for Imogene Asherbranner Poole, 87, of Hartselle was Sunday, February 6, at 3:00 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Mack Carter officiating.
Burial was in Corinth Cemetery.
Mrs. Poole died Saturday, February 5, 2000, at Hartselle Medical Center. She was a native of Lawrence County and a member of Holy Church of Christ. She was the widow of John Ellis Poole.
She is survived by two sons, R.V. Poole of Sidney, Ohio, and Wayne Estel Poole of Hartselle; two brothers, W.A. Asherbranner and Ray Asherbranner, both of Falkville; one sister, Ruthie Poole of Hartselle; one grandchild; and four great grandchildren.
Nephews were pallbearers.
