John Horace Townsend
July 5, 2000

Funeral for John Horace Townsend, 79, of Decatur, formerly of Massey, was Saturday, July 8, at 11:00 a.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. Virgil Bohn and Robert Ballew, III, officiating.
Burial was in McKendree Cemetery in Massey.
Mr. Townsend died Wednesday, July 5, 2000, at Huntsville Hospital. He was a native of Morgan County and a member of McKendree United Methodist Church. He was an auto mechanic for Hayes Aircraft in Birmingham and the Morgan County Commission. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II and a member of American Legion Post 15 in Decatur and a former member of American Legion Post 52 in Hartselle. He was the brother of the late Billy Joe Townsend of Brandon, Fla.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Ruth Townsend of Decatur; two sons, Larry Townsend of Lake, Miss., and Don R. Townsend of Somerville; one sister, Louise Miller of Falkville; five grandchildren; and two great grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Laramie Townsend, Scott Townsend, Jamie Roy, Cooper King, Chris Vinzant, Waymon Holliday, Gary Anders and Sim Howell, Jr.
Honorary pallbearers were Bill King, Charles Ray, Esmer Sanders, Howard Anders, Harold Morris, Ralph Summerford and J.J. Summerford.

Niki Michelle West
June 30, 2000

A graveside service for infant Niki Michelle West of Decatur was Monday, July 3, at Enon Cemetery with the Rev. Chuck Smith officiating and Shelton Funeral Home directing.
She died Friday, June 30, 2000, at Decatur General Hospital on the day of her birth. She was the granddaughter of the late Van Douglas Colwell.
She is survived by her father, Nathaniel West of Decatur; her mother, Mindi Colwell of Decatur; her grandparents, Larry and Terrie Alexander of Moulton and Pam Colwell and Charles Cooper, both of Decatur; and her great grandparents, Nancy Rye of Mount Pleasant, Tex., Charles Smith of Danville and Corene Slaten Smith of Falkville.
Pallbearers were Michael Colwell, Matthew Colwell, Matthew Colwell, Michael Reese and John Paul Puckett.

Grace Rushing Davis
July 4, 2000

A graveside service for Grace Rushing Davis, 87, of Vinemont was Thursday, July 6, at 11:00 a.m. at Cullman City Cemetery with the Rev. Ron Wilson officiating and Williams-McCracken Funeral Home directing.
Mrs. Davis died Tuesday, July 4, 2000, at Cullman Regional Medical Center. She was a native of Lawrence County.
She is survived by one son, Bobby Stephenson of Madison; two daughters, Betty Stephenson Hopper of Hartselle and Diana Stephenson Singleton of Covington, Ga.; one brother, Robert Lee Rushing of Hartselle; two sisters, Ruth Johnson of Toledo, Ohio, and Marie Long of Battle Creek, Mich.; six grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; and one great great grandson.

John F. Lenox
July 1, 2000

Funeral for John F. Lenox, 72, of Valhermoso Springs, was Wednesday, July 5, at 2:00 p.m. at Valhermoso Springs Holiness Church with the Revs. Melvin Brown and Don Trosper officiating.
Burial was in the adjoining cemetery with Peck Funeral Home directing.
Mr. Lenox died Saturday, July 1, 2000, at Hartselle Medical Center. He was a native of Morgan County and a member of Valhermoso Springs Holiness Church. He was retired from Prestolite in Decatur and was preceded in death by a daughter, Doris Ann Lenox and a sister, Pauline Savage.
He is survived by his wife, Ola Lenox of Valhermoso Springs; three daughters, Ruth Ann Middleton of Somerville and Judy Carol Lenox and Karen Darleen Lenox, both of Valhermoso Springs; five brothers, Richard Lenox and Elmer Lenox, both of Valhermosa Springs, Billy Lenox of Huntsville, Jerry Lenox of Missouri and Gene Lenox of Lacey's Spring; three sisters, Margie Persinger of Lacey's Spring, Linda Hill of Somerville and Sue Fielder of Valhermoso Springs; and two grandchildren.
Nephews were pallbearers.

Dorothy F. Briscoe Crago
July 4, 2000

Funeral for Dorothy F. Briscoe Crago, 60, of Cullman was Friday, July 7, at 11:00 a.m. at New Salem Baptist Church with the Rev. Paul Hicks officiating.
Burial was in the adjoining cemetery with Peck Funeral Home directing.
Mrs. Crago died Tuesday, July 4, 2000, at Woodland Medical Center in Cullman. She was a native of Morgan County and a packing line worker at Goldenrod Broilers in Cullman.
She is survived by her husband, Frank D. Crago of Cullman; two sons, David Ray Foster of Hazel Green and Benny Harold Foster of Priceville; four daughters, Helen Suzanne Foster and Teresa Faye Foster, both of Arab, and Lisa M. Foster Miller and Angel Renee Foster Cravens, both of Decatur; one brother, Leon Briscoe of Hanceville; two sisters, Drucilla Light of Union Hill and Marie Helms of Falkville; 10 grandchildren; and one great grandchild.
Pallbearers were Danny Paul Briscoe, Gary Briscoe, Jason Foster, Adam Foster, Brandon Miller and Jason Foster.

Mildred Louise Bost Collins
July 10, 2000

Funeral for Mildred Louise Bost Collins, 70, of Eva was Wednesday, July 12, at 11:00 a.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. James Wray officiating.
Burial was in Hartselle Memory Gardens Cemetery.
Mrs. Collins died Monday, July 10, 2000, at her residence. She was a member of Blue Springs Baptist Church. She was the widow of Bud Collins.
She is survived by three sons, Bobby W. Collins and Tim South, both of Eva and Doug Keel of Hartselle; three daughters, Susan South and Peggy Collins, both of Eva and Phyllis Keel of Hartselle; two brothers, Ronnie Brookshire of Edgar Springs, Mo., and David Bost of Vinemont; eight grandchildren; and one great grandchild.
Pallbearers were Larry Bryant, Lynn Rainwater, Howard Jenkins, Scott Collins, Clarence Walls, Mike Davenport, C.J. Mooney and Frank Campbell.

Lottie Belle McCutcheon McGee
July 7, 2000

Funeral for Lottie Belle McCutcheon McGee, 70, of Decatur was Monday, July 10, at 2:00 p.m. at Priceville Church of Christ with Bobby South officiating.
Burial was in Center Springs Cemetery with Priceville Funeral Home directing.
Ms. McGee died Friday, July 7, 2000, at her residence. She was a native of Morgan County and a member of Priceville Church of Christ. She was a retired housekeeper for the Lurleen B. Wallace Developmental Center.
She is survived by one son, Danny Keith McGee of Somerville; one daughter, Diann McGee Halbrooks Pate of Somerville; two brothers, Johnnie McCutcheon and Troy McCutcheon, both of Somerville; one sister, Alma Henderson of Nashville, Tenn.; nine grandchildren; and two great grandchildren.
