Fannie Lue Murphy
Funeral services for Fannie Lue Murphy, 79, Jemison, were held at Oak Grove Baptist Church on Saturday, Aug. 5, 2000, with Rev. Keith Edwards and Rev. Morris Holcombe officiating.
Burial followed at Midway Memorial Gardens in Jemison, with Martin Funeral Home directing.
Murphy was born on Aug. 26, 1920, in Alabama, the daughter of the late J.B. and Bessie Martin. She was a homemaker. She died on Aug. 3, 2000, at her residence.
Survivors include one daughter, Evelyn Emfinger, Jemison; two sons, Otis C. Murphy, Jr., and Anthony Murphy, both of Jemison; one brother, J.V. Martin, Michigan; two sisters, Nina Turner, Molton, and Grace Meeks, Prattville; 10 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

Sarah Elizabeth Barnett
Funeral services for Sarah Elizabeth Barnett, 86, Jemison, will be held on Wednesday, Aug. 23, 2000, at 11 a.m. at Martin Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Bruce Varden and Rev. Morris Holcombe officiating.
Burial will follow at Pleasant Hill Baptist Cemetery in Jemison, with Martin Funeral Home directing.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, Aug. 22, 2000, from 6-8 p.m. at Martin Funeral Home Chapel.
Barnett was born on March 22, 1914, in Chilton County, the daughter of the late John N. and Callie Martin. She was a homemaker. She died on Aug. 21, 2000, at Briarcliff Nursing Home in Alabaster.
Survivors include one daughter, Shirley Ellison, Jemison; four brothers, Luby Martin, Jemison, Calvin Martin, Birmingham, Maston Martin, Oatman, Odene Martin, Pascagoula, Miss.; two sisters, Daisy Barnett, Alabaster, and Perline Littleton, Jemison. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Barnett, and one son, John Wayne Barnett.

Sara Nell Johnson
Funeral services for Sara Nell Johnson, 52, Plantersville, will be held at New Life Assembly of God on Wednesday, Aug. 23, 2000, at 11 a.m., with Rev. Ron Thrower, Rev. Wayne Hughes, and Rev. William Short officiating.
Burial will follow at New Life Assembly of God in Maplesville, with Martin Funeral Home directing.
Survivors include her husband, James Oneal Johnson, Plantersville; one son, James O. Johnson II, Clanton; two daughters, Angela Posey and Ashley Dennis, both of Plantersville; four brothers, William McMinn and Mike McMinn, both of Clanton, Julius McMinn and Terry McMinn, both of Maplesville; six sisters, Norma Dennis and Diane Connell, both of Verbena, Alice Dempsey, Selma, Brenda Langston, Clanton, and Margie McMinn and Pam Bright, both of Maplesville; and three grandchildren.

Lisa G. Clark:
Funeral services for Lisa G. Clark, 37, were held at 2 p.m. Sunday, May 25, 2002, at Charter Funeral Home, with Rev. Dwight Joyner and Rev. Billy Roper officiating.
Burial followed at Ryan Crossing Cemetery, with Charter Funeral Home directing.
Clark was born in Alabama on Wednesday, Nov. 18, 1964, the daughter of Samuel David Clark and Johnnie Lawley Whitehead Clark. She was a lifelong resident of Dogwood, but was living in Jemison at the time of her death. She attended school at Montevallo. She was unmarried. Her favorite scripture was Psalm 23. Lisa was a member of Grace Chapel for four years and played softball for the church league as a catcher. Her favorite pastime was watching Pro-Wrestling. Clark died on Thursday, May 23, 2002.
Her survivors include daughter, Jennifer McCartney, Jemison; mother, Johnnie Whitehead, Alabaster; her father, David Clark, Maplesville; eight brothers, Sammy Clark, Hackleberg, Michael Clark, Daryle Clark, John Lucas Clark, Samuel Derrick Clark, all of Selma, John Lucas Clark, Samuel Derrick Clark, David Allan Ward; one sister, Anna Marie Clark; several aunts and uncles; and two friends, Earl and Patsy McCartney, with whom she lived with for many years.

Mary L. Farmer:
Funeral services for Mary L. Farmer, 69, Northport, who was a former resident of Shelby County, were held at 2 p.m. on Monday, May 27, 2002, at Charter Funeral Home, with her grandsons, Pastor Patrick H. Schatzline and Pastor Scott S. Schatzline, officiating.
Burial followed at Cedar Grove Cemetery in Alabaster, with Charter Funeral Home directing.
Honorary pallbearers were Hospice of West Alabama and Dr. Gene Alldredge.
Farmer was a charter member of DayStar International Fellowship Church in Tuscaloosa, of which her son-in-law, Patrick H. Schatzline, is the pastor. She was an entrepreneur and operated her own business. Farmer died on Friday, May 24, 2002, at her residence.
Survivors include one son, Elton R. Farmer, Mt. Olive; one daughter-in-law, Vicky Farmer, Mt. Olive; one daughter, Deborah Schatzline, Northport; one son-in-law, Patrick H. Schatzline; one brother, James Lowery, Jr., Maylene; one sister-in-law, Cheryl Lowery, Maylene; two sisters, Jane Johnson, Maylene, and Tilly Ann Jones, Daphne; one brother-in-law, Frank Jones, Daphne; five grandchildren, Alicia R. Schatzline, Patrick H. Schatzline, Scott S. Schatzline, Thomas E Farmer, Stacey F. Farmer; seven great-grandchildren; and many other family and friends.
Her husband, Auburn E. Farmer, one daughter, Elisha Farmer, and one sister, Emma Jean Huckabee, preceded her in death.

James "Barefoot" Smith:
Funeral services for James "Barefoot" Smith, 82, Orrville, will be held on Tuesday, May 28, 2002, at 2 p.m. at Rockco Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Willard Scott officiating.
Burial will follow at Union Presbyterian Cemetery in Vance, with Rockco's Funeral Home directing.
Pallbearers include Harold Delaney, Kim Scott, Craig Cook, Roy Adams, Meryl Cook, Bunk Ingram, Larry Jones, and Joe Brown.
Smith was a veteran and a medal recipient of World War II. He died on Saturday, May 25, 2002, at Vaughn Memorial Regional Medical Center.
Survivors include his wife, Bernice Smith, Orrville; one son, James Larry Smith, West Blocton; two daughters, Reta Nuss, Orrville, Peggy Scott, Thorsby; three brothers, Huey Smith, Selma, Sam Smith, Orrville, Jaycee Smith, West Blocton; one sister, Velma Lester, Selma; nine grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Janet Brown.
