Thomas L. Cory
Thomas L. "Tom" Cory, 67, of Sherwood died Thursday, Aug. 24, 2000.
He was chairman of the board of the Arkansas Precast Corporation, board
member of First Arkansas Bank and Trust, board member of the Jacksonville
Industrial Development Commission, board member of the Jacksonville Boys
and Girls Club and past president and board member of the Architectual
Precast Association.
Survivors inclde his wife, Betty; a son, Michael Cory of Atlanta; a step-son,
Todd Cotten of North Little Rock; and one brother, the Rev. Jack Cory of
Chicago.
Funeral will be at 1 p.m. Monday at First United Methodist Church of
Jacksonville. Burial will follow at Rest Hills Memorial Park in North Little
Rock.
Visitation will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday at Griffin Leggett-Rest Hills
Funeral Home at 7724 Landers Road in North Little Rock.
Memorials may be made to the Jacksonville Boys and Girls Club.
Timothy Justin Riddle
Timothy Justin Riddle, 18, of Jacksonville died Wednesday Aug. 23, 2000.
He was born Sept. 21, 1980 in Jacksonville.
Survivors include his mother and stepfather, Sherri Spencer Porter of Vilonia
and David Porter of Jacksonville; his father, Tim Riddle of Oklahoma; a
brother, Gabriel Porter of Vilonia; and one sister, Natasha Riddle of
Mayflower.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Moore's Jacksonville Funeral Home
Chapel.
Visitation will be from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
Sandra Lois Jenkins
Sandra Lois Jenkins, 60, of Jacksonville died Wednesday, Aug. 23, 2000.
She was born in Brockton, Mass., and has been a resident of Jacksonville for
over 30 years. She was an American Legion Ladies Auxiliary President.
Survivors include her husband of 41 years, Norman D. Jenkins; three
daughters, Gail Jenkins of Jacksonville, Joan Cogswell of Warner Robins,
Ga., and Sherie Moss of Great Falls, Mont.; a son, Norman Jr. of Blytheville;
five grandchildren; one sister, Brenda Dunton of Norwell, Mass.; and four
brothers, Arthur Badger of Baker, Fla., Walter Badger of Sharon, Mass.,
Wayne Badger of Plymouth, Mass., and Kevin Badger of Pembroke, Mass.
Funeral will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 26 at Moore's Jacksonville
Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow in Chapel Hill Memorial Park
Cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Peggy J. Cox
Peggy J. Cox, 72, of North Little Rock died Wednesday, Aug. 23, 2000.
Survivors include her son Michael D. Cox; two grandchildren; two
great-grandchildren; and a sister, Patsy Smith.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at 47th Street Baptist Church. Burial will
be at Lonoke Cemetery.

Joshua Aaron Rickett
Joshua Aaron Rickett, 18, of Jacksonville died Friday, Sept. 8, 2000.
Survivors include his father, Joel Rickett of Jacksonville; his mother and
step-father, Sheila and Larry James of Jacksonville; two brothers, Robert
Ritchie of Little Rock and Jerry Rye of Conway; two sisters, Jessica James
of Jacksonville and McKinley Rickett of Letona; and his grandparents, Al
and Ursula Pledger, Brenton Rickett and Johnny and Willie Mae James.
Services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, Sept. 11 at McArthur Assembly of
God in Jacksonville with burial to follow in Mt. Carmel Cemetery in Cabot.

Rodderick Burnam
Rodderick Ashun Burnam, 27, died Jan. 1, 2001.
He was a member of Lewis Street Church of Christ in Little Rock.
Survivors include his father, Kenneth King of North Little Rock; stepfather,
John English of Jacksonville; three sisters, Karen and Loretha Burnam of
North Little Rock, and Jontisha English of North Little Rock; and
grandmothers, Oretha Houston and Evelyn Ingram of North Little Rock.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, Jan. 6, 2001, at 3 p.m., Lewis Street
Church of Christ.

Yvonne Hummel
Yvonne Hummel, age 60, of Jacksonville died Wednesday, Jan. 3, 2001.
She is survived by her husband, Richard; son, Adrian Hummel; and daughter,
Elizabeth Hummel.
A memorial service was held Friday at St. Stephen's Episcopal Church in
Jacksonville.
Mable Vivian Griffin
Mable Vivian Griffin, 85, of Jacksonville died Jan. 3, 2001.
She was a member of the First Assembly of God in Jacksonville, and the
Elderly Activity Center in Jacksonville.
Survivors include a son, Gary Griffin; daughter, Sandra Halcumb; seven
grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; a sister, Hazel Cal; a brother, Billy
Lamb; and stepchildren, Louise Reynolds, Bill Griffin and Patricia Lumpkin.
Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Jan. 6. At Griffin Leggett-Rest Hills
Funeral Home.
Funeral will be at 2 p.m., Jan. 7, at the First Assembly of God Church,
Jacksonville, with Rev. Royce Lowe officiating. Burial will be in Rest Hills
Memorial Park, North Little Rock.

Ralph Massengale
Ralph Eugene Massengale, age 68, of Benton died Tuesday, Jan. 16,
2001.
He was a United States Marine Corps E-6 serving 21 years active and
nine years in the reserves. He served three tours in the Vietnam War.
He was a machine gunner in the Korean War during 1950-1951 and
was wounded three times. He was one of the chosen few in the 1st
Division Marine in Korea. He was awarded 16 awards and medals
including two Presidential Unit Citations and five Purple Hearts. He
retired from the Marine Corps as a gunnery sergeant. He was a past
quartermaster for VFW Post 9095 and a member of the American
Legion.
Survivors include his wife, Doris E. Massengale of Benton; two sons,
Mark Massengale and Michael Massengale both of California; brother,
Micky D. Massengale of Hawaii; three sisters, Betty Sparks of
Jacksonville, Mary Massengale of Newport, Ky., and Phyllis Baldwin of
Jacksonville, North Carolina; and four grandchildren.
Memorial services will be 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 20, 2001, at the VFW
Post 9095 on Kanis and Gamble. Sergeant Major Clifford Burks, U.S.
Marine Corps, retired will be officiating.
William Collins
William Nickles Collins, age 62, of Cabot died Wednesday, Jan. 17,
2001.
Survivors include his wife, Joyce Collins; his mother, Obera Collins of
Cabot; children, William, Ernest and Sara of Michigan, James and
Debra of Nebraska, and Donna, Diane and Kim of Florida; brother, Joe
Collins of California; sister, Clytie Ingle of Cabot; and 18 grandchildren.
Services will be 12 noon Saturday at Moore's Jacksonville Funeral
Home followed by interment in Sumner Cemetery in Cabot.
Oais G. Jeter
Oais G. "J.J." Jeter, 83, of Monticello, died Jan. 17, 2001.
She worked for Jenkins in the dietary department, retiring in 1979 as
cafeteria manager. She was a member of First Baptist Church,
Jacksonville.
Survivors include a son, Phillip Jeter of Jacksonville; a daughter, Nancy
Lepri of Greenville, Miss.; seven grandchildren; and 10
great-grandchildren.
Funeral will be at 11 a.m., Jan. 20, at Ralph Robinson & Son Funeral
Chapel by Rev. Marck Gibson, with interment in Graceland Cemetery.
Louise Wood
Louise C. Wood, 87, of Memphis, formerly of Jacksonville, died
Thursday, Feb. 1, 2001.
Funeral will be at 1 p.m., Feb. 4, at Griffin Leggett-Rest Hills, North Little
Rock.
She was a member of Union Avenue Baptist Church at Memphis, and a
former member of First United Methodist Church in Jacksonville.
Survivors include two sons, Gregory Wood of Jacksonville and Charles
Wood of Memphis; two sisters, Vida Jones of St. Joseph, Mo., and
Frances Steeby of Savannah, Mo.; three grandchildren; four
great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
Michael Farley
Michael J. Farley, 36, of Jacksonville died Feb. 1, 2001.
Survivors include his father, James Farley of Iowa; mother and
stepfather, Clara and Joseph Wade of Jacksonville; brothers, Thomas
Farley and Joey Wade of Jacksonville; sisters, Donna McPenny of Iowa
and Debra Farley of Conway.
Cremation services were by Moore's Jacksonville Funeral Home.
Leon Catlett
Leon Catlett, 73, died Wednesday.
Survivors include his wife, Veda Catlett of Jacksonville; son, Michael Catlett of
Ward; daughters, Alice Hillman of Louisiana, Maxine Robbins of Searcy;
brother, Billy Catlett of Wynne; sister, Wilma Carlisle of Mississippi; 10
grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren.

Eugene G. Hansen
Eugene G. "Gene" Hansen, 80, of Jacksonville died Wednesday, March 7,
2001.
He was retired from the United States Air Force.
Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Thelma Hansen; children; Loretta
Saunders, Robert Hansen, Elizabeth Winkler, Linda Staver, Eugene Hansen Jr.,
James Hansen; 22 grandchildren; and 31 great-grandchildren.
Private services were held March 8, 2001. Arrangements by Griffin
Leggett-Rest Hills Funeral Home.

Betty Ruth Price, 59, of North Little Rock died Wednesday, March 7, 2001.
She is survived by her husband, Willie Price; one son, Ricky Price of North

Sloan, all of Jacksonville; three brothers, Delbert Wilson of Jacksonville, Doug
Wilson of Lonoke and Craig Wilson of Cabot; three sisters, Clyde Etta Bell of
Jacksonville, Janice Lyttle of Virginia, and Sheila Reeves of Vilonia; 14
grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

Maxine Phillips Campbell, 86, of Jacksonville died June 26, 2001.

grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.

Aline L. McGehee, 77, of Jacksonville died June 26, 2001.
She was a member of the Second Baptist Church in Jacksonville.
Survivors include sons, Edward McGehee of Benton and Victor McGehee of
Woodlawn; a brother, John Reed of Arizona; sisters, Polly Reed and Mary
Webb, both of Pine Bluff; nine grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

Marian K. Watkins
Marian K. Watkins, 80, died Tuesday.
Before retirement, she worked as front desk manager at Red Apple Inn.
Survivors include her daughters, Nancy Carol Butler of Greensboro, N.C., and
Judy Ann Rollins of Jacksonville; four grandchildren; and two
great-grandchildren.
Funeral was Wednesday at First Presbyterian Church, with burial in Heber
Springs Cemetery. Olmstead Funeral Home was in charge.
Joe B. Weir
Joe B. Weir, 79, of Jacksonville died at his home July 16, 2001. He was a
veteran of World War II; a retired insurance and real estate agent; and a
member of Second Baptist Church in Jacksonville.
Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Melma Mash Weir; two brothers, James
L. Weir of Houston and Charles H. Weir of Searcy; one sister, Letrecia Bean
of Fort Worth, Texas.
Funeral service was Thursday, July 19, at Westbrook Funeral Home Chapel in
Beebe; with the Rev. Ron Raines and the Rev. Cecil Harrison officiating.
Burial was in Weir Cemetery. Memorials may be made to American Heart

Edith M. Price
Edith M. Price, 84, of Jacksonville, died Dec. 18, 2001.
She was a member and Sunday school teacher at First Baptist Church in Jacksonville
for many years. She worked as an inspector at the ordnance plant in Jacksonville during
WW II. She was the owner and operator of Price's Mobile Home Park for 22 years.
She retired from Rebsamen Regional Medical Center.
She is survived by three sons, Eddy Price of Jacksonville, Joey Price of Jacksonville,
David Price of North Little Rock; four grandchildren; a sister, Grace Shelby of Conway.
Services were Friday, Dec. 21, at First Baptist Church in Jacksonville. Interment was in
Chapel Hill Memorial Park Cemetery. Moore's Jacksonville Funeral Home was in
charge.
Myron Stroud
Myron Stroud, age 72, of Beebe, died Tuesday, Dec. 18, 2001.
He was a retired insurance salesman and a member of the Church of Christ.
Surviving are one son, Larry Stroud of Rogers; one daughter, Becky Ballew of Beebe;
three brothers, Wayne Stroud of Jacksonville, Douglas Stroud of Little Rock, and Rob
Stroud of Beebe; one sister, Louise Baskin of Little Rock; five grandchildren; and three
great-grandchildren.
Funeral was Dec. 21, at Westbrook Chapel with burial in Pleasant Grove Cemetery,
Floyd.
Ruth Ann Munnerlyn
Ruth Ann Munnerlyn, age 90, of Jacksonville died Dec. 19, 2001.
A longtime charter member of Berea Baptist Church, she taught Vacation Bible School
and Sunday School.
She is survived by one son, A.J. Munnerlyn, of Jacksonville; one daughter, Mary Ann
Ruff of Scranton; a sister, Mary Brumett of Pine Bluff; two brothers, Leo Cummings of
Illinois and Vernon Cummings of Lonoke; nine grandchildren and 17
great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 22, at Berea Baptist Church.
Griffin Leggett Rest Hills will be in charge of arrangements.
