She was salutatorian of the class of 1930 at Clarksville High School and formerly worked at Stewart Sheppard Dress Shop for many years, was a member of First United Methodist Church, the What so ever Sunday school class and Faith Hope Women's Circle. She was the widow of James Earl Smith and Robert W. Lundquist. Funeral will be 2 p.m. today in First United Methodist Church with burial at Mount Airy Cemetery in Ludwig under the direction of Hardwicke Funeral Home of Clarksville. Roy L. McElyea, 68, of Muldrow, died Friday, Dec. 7, 2001, in Muldrow. He was a retired concrete contractor, a licensed aircraft pilot; he boxed in the Golden Gloves organization and served in the Army. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Floyd and Gene McElyea; and one sister, Virginia Reynolds. He was a retired volunteer coordinator for the Department of Finance and Administration in both Fort Smith and Little Rock, a retired automobile dealer in Russellville and Little Rock, past president of the Russellville Kiwanis Club and the Chamber of Commerce, a member of the First Christian Church in Little Rock and attended First United Methodist Church in Fort Smith, where he was a member of the Builders Sunday school class, a veteran of World War II, a prisoner of war for 18 months at Stalag 7 in Germany, a graduate of Russellville High School and Arkansas Tech University. After business college, she was employed by a manufacturer as a secretary/bookkeeper and was a legal secretary in the office of District Attorneys for the Kansas City Southern Railway and Missouri Pacific Railroad. Her last employment was with the law firm of Harper, Young, Smith & Maurras in Fort Smith from which she retired in 1980. She is survived by two daughters, Melinda Webb Hood of Benton and Susan Sicard Jackson of Bella Vista; a son, Pettus Andrew Kincannon Jr. of Fort Smith; a sister, Mavis Gunter Moore of Fulton, Ky.; 11 grandchildren, Dr. Kin Hood, Margaret Hood McLellen, Ben and Trulie Hood, Andrea Hood Brown, Sarah Polinskey, Alfred H. Sicard and Andrew, Samuel, Karen Sue and Sara Ann Kincannon and four great-grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Dr. Kin Hood, Dr. Matt McLellen, Michael Polinskey, Ben Hood and Andrew and Samuel Kincannon. HOT SPRINGS - John Majors, 76, of Hot Springs, formerly of Cove, died Thursday, Jan. 24, 2002, in Hot Springs. He was born Feb. 22, 1925, in Illinois. He was a laborer in a poultry plant and attended Pleasant Grove Church of the Nazarene in Cove. Funeral will be 2 p.m. Saturday in Pleasant Grove Church of the Nazarene in Cove with burial at Pleasant Grove Cemetery under the direction of Beasley-Wood Funeral Home of Mena.

Ewell Lasiter
ROLAND - Ewell L. Lasiter, 74, of Roland, died Wednesday, Jan. 23, 2002, in a local hospital. He was a retired horse trainer. Graveside service will be 1 p.m. today at U.S. National Cemetery in Fort Smith under the direction of Ocker Funeral Home of Van Buren. He is survived by two daughters, Lynn Spain of Pocola and Robin Wilkins of Van Buren; a sister, Bernice Smith; a brother, Jerry Dale Lasiter Sr. of Roland; and four grandchildren, K.C. and Derek Spain, both of Pocola and Rikki and Katy Wilkins, both of Van Buren. Pallbearers will be Jerry Lee, David and Jerry Dale Lasiter Jr., Ronald Gene and Jerald Harvell and K.C. Spain.

Ronald Morgan
SALLISAW - Ronald Thomas 'Ronnie' Morgan, 47, of Sallisaw, died Tuesday, Jan. 22, 2002, near Mountainburg. He was born June 24, 1954, in Harriman. He was a 1972 graduate of Muskogee High School, attended Oklahoma State University and was a graduate of Northeastern State University in Tahlequah and the International Brotherhood of Electrical Work School. He was an active member of the IBEW No. 384 and No. 584 since 1973 , a high school science teacher at Sallisaw Central School and a Protestant. Funeral will be 1 p.m. Saturday in Central High School Gymnasium east of Sallisaw with burial at Warner Cemetery in Warner, Okla., under the direction of Agent Funeral Home of Sallisaw. He is survived by his wife, Janet; a son, Travis Glenn Morgan of Kattery, Maine; his parents, George and Winnie Morgan of Sallisaw; a sister, Pamela Morgan of Sallisaw; and a granddaughter, Alaine Marie Morgan of Kattery, Maine. Ruth Liggett
Ruth Liggett, 82, of Fort Smith, died Tuesday, Jan. 22, 2002, in a local hospital. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church. Funeral will be 2 p.m. today in Edwards Funeral Home Chapel in Fort Smith with burial at Roselawn Cemetery in Fort Smith. She is survived by her husband, Jack; two sons, Chuck Liggett and his wife, Kathy, and Dr. Michael Liggett and his wife, Judy, all of Fort Smith; a brother, Boe Graves of Memphis, Tenn.; five grandchildren, Charlie, Travis, Michael II, Kris and Lauren Liggett; three nieces, Jackie Sue Domecq of New Orleans, Jane Whittaker and Carol Benson, both of Memphis, Tenn. Mrs. Ora Lewis
Mrs. Ora Lewis, 94, of Alma, died Thursday, Jan. 24, 2002, in her home. She was a homemaker and a member of Maple Shade Church of the Nazarene. She was preceded in death by her husband, Leonard Lewis, a daughter, Mary Louise Lewis and a son, Russell Farrell Lewis. Funeral will be 11 a.m. Monday in Maple Shade Church of the Nazarene with burial at Newberry Cemetery in Alma under the direction of Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home of Van Buren. She is survived by a daughter, Freda Mae Smith of Alma; four grandchildren, Sheryl Ann Dotson of Van Alstine, Texas, Douglas Keith Smith of Alma, Karen Elaine and Russell Dewayne Lewis, both of San Antonio and four great-grandchildren. The family will visit with friends from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
