Bettie J. MacElroy nee Gorham, 87, of Belleville, Ill., died Aug. 8, 2007, at Kenneth Hall Regional Hospital in E. St. Louis, Ill. She was born Oct. 24, 1919, in Caldwell, New Jersey.
She was preceded in death by: her Husband, William R. MacElroy; her parents, Clarence F. and Ann nee Swank Gorham; and a sister, Elsie Carron.She is survived by: her children, R. Scott (Mary) MacElroy of Virginia Beach, Va., Beverly Ann (John) Martin of Red Bud, Ill., William R. (Cynthia) MacElroy Jr. of Belleville, Ill. and Donald W. (Mary) MacElroy of Minnetonka, Minn.; nine grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.By her request she donated her body to Washington University School of Medicine.

Mary Lou Hicks, 86, of Horseshoe Bend, Ark., daughter of the late Samuel Walter and Nora Eletha (Harrison) Harrison, was born Oct. 17, 1920, in Kedron, Ark. She died Aug. 6, 2007, at the Southfork River Therapy and Living Center in Salem, Ark.
Mary Lou was married to Charles B. Hicks on Jan. 13, 1941, at Little Rock, Ark. She worked as a supervisor for Battelstein's Department Store and was a member of the St. James United Methodist Church in Little Rock.She is survived by: several nieces; nephews; and many other relatives and friends.She was preceded in death by: her husband, parents, two sisters and one brother.Graveside services were held Aug. 9 at the Pinecrest cemetery in Little Rock, with Bro. Robert Norton officiating. Arrangements were made under the direction of Barker Funeral Home of Salem.In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the St. Matthew's United Methodist Church, 4300 N, Shepherd, Houston, Texas 77018.

Patsy Pinkston Hannum of Fort Wayne, Ind., died Aug. 9, 2007. She was born in Cave City and was a 1953 graduate of Cave City High School.
She is survived by: her sisters, Grace Sade and Evelyn Brincefield, both of Indiana.She was preceded in death by: a sister, Virginia Ballard; and a brother, Jerry Pinkston. Arrangements are under the direction of D.O. McComb and Sons Foster Park Funeral Home.

Robert Paul Suffling, 58, of Hardy, Ark., died Aug. 11, 2007, at the VA Hospital in Little Rock, Ark. He was born Dec. 30, 1948, in Tennessee, the son of Ernest and Dorothy Suffling.
He was a veteran of the United States Navy. He owned and operated his own business, "The Cleanup Guys," He was a member of the Lucy Baptist Church in Millington, Tenn., and was also a member of the local American Legion. He is remembered for his forthright manner of speech, quick wit, sense of humor, generous spirit, his kindness and his love of family and home.He is survived by: his wife, Hannah Suffling of Cherokee Village; his mother, Dorothy Suffling of Cherokee Village; one daughter and her husband, Laurie and John Erb of Williams Port, Pa.; two brothers and their wives, David and Virginia Suffling of Albuquerque, N.M., and Mark and Rita Suffling of Durango, Colo.; a special friend, Judy Noyes of Cherokee Village; a sister-in-law, Deborah Simpson of Stuttgart; five granddaughters, Chelsey, Olivia, Sophia and Chloe Erb all of Williams Port, Pa., and Spencer Moody of Russellville; two nieces and two nephews; his beloved loyal companion, Hoppy; and many friends and neighbors.A memorial service was held Aug. 15, at the Copper Feather Restaurant and Country Club in Cherokee Village. Arrangements were under the direction of the Tri-County Funeral Home of Highland. Catherine Madaleine Coons, daughter of the late George Nowak and Adela Nartowiez Nowak, was born July 19, 1925, in Mineola, New York. She died Aug. 11, 2007, in Brockwell, Ark. at the age of 82 years.
She was united in marriage to Roy D. Coons in Flora Park, New York, on Nov. 5, 1944, and to this union two children were born.She spent her life as a wife, mother, grandmother and homemaker. Catherine was a member of St. Michael's Catholic Church in Cherokee Village.She is survived by: her daughter and son-in-law, Barbara and James Cunningham of Brockwell; one son and daughter-in-law, Wayne and Gail Coons of West Babylon, New York; eight grandchildren, James III, Stephanie, Alexandra, Anastasia, Amanda, Lorraine, Wayne II and Jason; 14 great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and many friends. She was preceded in death by: her parents; her husband; two sisters, Stella Turack and Frances Jablonski; two brothers, Stanley Choinski and Chester Choinski.Funeral Mass was held Aug. 16 at St Michael's, Catholic Church in Cherokee Village. Burial followed at Cunningham cemetery.Arrangements were under the direction of Eddie's Family Funeral Home in Melbourne. Memorials may be made to: St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 332 N. Michael (Mike) David Levosky, 59, of Springdale, Ark., died Aug. 18, 2007, in Springdale. He was born Dec. 6, 1947, in Erie, Pa., the son of Richard and Ina Mary Penvoss Levosky.
He installed fire sprinkles for Arkansas Auto Spinkler Company and enjoyed driving and building race cars and bowling.He is survived by: his wife, Dorothy Levosky, of the home; two sons, Donald James Levosky and Kimmy, of Springdale, Ark.; and Randy Wood and Allie of Fayetteville, Ark.; one daughter, Kimberly Young and Randy of Springdale; one sister, Mary Smith of El Paso, Texas; and three grandchildren, Savannah Wood, Dylon Young and Happie Ward.Cremation will be under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home.

Payton Dewayne Lovell, of Harrisburg, Ark., died July 29, 2007, at St. Bernard's Regional Medical Center in Jonesboro, Ark., at the age of 33. He was born June 30, 1974, in Wynne, Ark., the son of Don Lovell and Linda Peifer Lovell.
Payton worked in the facilities management department for ASU for the past 12 years. He was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church in Harrisburg and loved fishing and watching movies. He is survived by: his parents, Don and Linda Lovell of Highland, Ark.; one brother, Travis Lovell and his fiancee Tonya of Greenbrier, Ark.; one sister, Brittany Lovell of Jonesboro; his grandparents, Floyd and Faye Lovell of Harrisburg; two nieces, Tessa Lovell and Destiny Lovell; six uncles, Greg Lovell, Bobby Peifer, Freddy Peifer, Larry Peifer, Jacky Peifer and Kenny Peifer; and one great-uncle, Nolan Norris.He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Raymond and Mildred Peifer.Funeral services were held at the Calvary Baptist Church in Harrisburg with Rev. Larry White officiating. Interment followed in Harrisburg Memorial Park cemetery with arrangements under the direction of Weston Funeral Service of Harrisburg.

Terence Joseph Evans, son of Mary Anne Phillips Evans of Evening Shade and the late Neal Edward Evans, was born Nov.10, 1965, in Chicago, Ill. He died Aug. 15, 2007, at his home near Evening Shade at the age of 41 years.
After a short time in the Navy, he was diagnosed with Huntington's Disease and discharged. He remained disabled until his death. He was of the Catholic faith and a member of St. Francis Chapel near Evening Shade. He is survived by: his mother, Mary Anne Evans of the home; three brothers, Gerard Evans and Franz Evans of the home and Thaddeus Evans of Ash Flat, Ark.; three sisters, Marita West of home, Alida Evand of Sacramento, Calif. and Flavia Bryan of Dickinson, Texas; his maternal grandmother, Mary Phillips of Massillon, Ohio; and a host of other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by: his father; and three brothers, Thomas, Leo and Allen Evans.Funeral Mass was held Aug. 18 at the Roman and Billy Howard Memorial Chapel in Melbourne with Father Gregory Drahman, CMRI officiating.Burial followed at the Evans Family cemetery. Arrangements were under the direction of Eddie's Family Funeral Home in Melbourne.

Virgil Wayne Counts, 58, of Cherokee Village, Ark., died Aug. 13, 2007, at his home. Joe was born Dec. 5, 1948, in Alicia, Ark. the son of Grover and Freda Counts.
He lived the last 30 years of his life in Hardy where he owned and operated Counts Construction.He is survived by: his wife, Carol Johnson Counts of the home; two sons, "JJ" Joseph Johnson Counts of Bono, and Eric Counts of Cherokee Village; one daughter, Judy Jordan of Cherokee Village; three sisters, Hilda Worthington of Trumann, Brenda Nicholson of Swifton, and Mickey Alberson of Tuckerman; two brothers, Larry Counts of Cherokee Village, and Jimmy Counts of Hardy; four grandchildren, Coty James, Brady Ford, and Jordyn and Eason Counts; and a host of other relatives and friends.Funeral services were held Aug. 16 at Strangers Home Church in Alicia, Ark., with Don House and Larry Counts officiating. Burial followed in the Strangers Home cemetery.Pallbearers were Erik Nicholson, Brian Counts, Dale Faughn, Aaron Hulett, Jason Hulett and Jerry Adams. Honorary pallbearers were Dwight Holder, Bruce Schwebke, Dennis Welte, Elwood Sloas, Larry Johnson and Euin Mullens.Arrangements were under the direction of the Tri-County Funeral Home of Highland, Ark.

William Clay

William "Bill" Clay, son of the late Zack and Bernice Stockard Clay, was born March 16, 1925, in Viola, Ark. He died at his home Aug. 6, 2007, at the age of 82.
He married Lessie Jean Shrable on Sept. 4, 1950, and to this union, two daughters were born. He was an Army veteran of WWII. He retired from General Motors with 33 years of service in the skilled trade of machine repairman. Bill was a loving husband, dad, and PoPo. He loved going to church, reading the Bible, fishing, and garden and yard work. He was a member of the Church of Christ and attended worship at Viola.Survivors include: his wife of 56 years, Lessie Jean; two daughters, Linda Lackie of Viola, and Brenda Stordahl and husband Cal of Brighton, Mich.; three grandchildren, Amber Lutz and husband Jordan, Devon Hoover and husband Jeremy, and Dustin Stordahl, all of Mich.; one sister, Marie Sharble of Gepp, Ark.; and a host of other relatives and friends.Funeral services were held Aug. 10, at the Barker Funeral Home Chapel in Salem, Ark., with Bro. Frank Plachy and Cal Stordahl officiating. Interment was in the Pleasant View cemetery, Gepp, under the direction of Barker Funeral Home.Pallbearers were Cal Stordahl, Dustin Stordahl, Jordan Lutz, Jeremy Hoover, Doyle Shrable and Mike Sherman.Honorary pallbearers were Ronnie Sutherland, Winston Kerley, Leon Hodges, Curtis Shrable, Wayne Shrable, Curtis Ashby, George Williams, Charles Sherman, Bob Roper, R. A. Pendergrass, L. J. Campbell and Larry Burns.Memorials preferred to the Pleasant View cemetery or the Alzheimers Association.
