Loyzelle D. Hamilton

Loyzelle Dake Hamilton, 66, died Saturday, May 12, 2007, at St. Francis Hospital in Tulsa, Okla.

She was a native of Clarksville, daughter of the late Clyde and Lois Dickerson Dake, graduate of Clarksville High School, pursued a nursing degree at Sparks Regional Medical Center in Fort Smith, organist for Verdigris United Methodist Church for the past several years, former employee of John Zink for eight years, Dresser Engineering for four years, and recently retired from retirement specialist for the city of Tulsa, Okla., after 16 years of service.

Survivors include her husband, John Hamilton; one son, Stephen Dake Yeager and wife, Cindy, of Broken Arrow, Okla.; and one grandson, Bryant Dake Yeager of Crowley, Texas.

Funeral was at 10 a.m. Tuesday, May 15, at Verdigris United Methodist Church followed by graveside services and burial at 4 p.m. at Oakland cemetery in Clarksville. Arrangements were under the direction of Moore's Eastlawn in Tulsa, Okla.

Patricia Ann Johnston

Patricia Ann Johnston, 60, of Roland, Okla., daughter of Ruby Hunter of Clarksville, died Sunday, May 13, 2007, in Fort Smith.

She was preceded in death by one son, Ron Olson; and her father, Charles Hunter.

Other survivors include her husband, Kenneth Wayne Johnston; three sons, Rudy Olson of Colorado Springs, Colo., Chaz Olson of Dalton, Ga., and Eric Olson of Greenwood; two sisters, Mary Kay Thompson of Hartman and Ruby Debbie Rhinebold of Golden Dale, Wash.; 17 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, May 17, at Roller-Cox Funeral Chapel with Rev. Mike Franklin officiating. Burial will be in Oakland cemetery.

Sharon L. Curtis

Sharon Louise Head Curtis, 60, of Lamar died Thursday, May 10, 2007, in Fort Smith.

She was a daughter of the late Robert A. Head, retired secretary, and member of Lamar Methodist Church.

Survivors include her husband, Jerry Dean Curtis; one daughter, Kimberly A. Curtis Lauppe and husband, Marion, of Lamar; one son, Jeffery T. Curtis and wife, Connie, of Havana; mother, Jessie M. Head of Lamar; three sisters, Mary Jess Dorman of Springdale, Margaret Ann Deaver of Fort Smith, and Jo Ellen Banhart of Van Buren; and five grandchildren, Katie Shelton, Chris Bottoms, Cody Lauppe, Cory Lauppe, and Heather Lauppe.

Funeral was at 10 a.m. Saturday, May 12, at Lamar Methodist Church with Rev. Joe Dorman officiating.

Burial was in Lamar cemetery under the direction of Roller-Cox Funeral Home.

Active pallbearers were Brian Clinton, Bobby D. Curtis, Steven R. Curtis, Terry L. Curtis, Cody D. Lauppe, Cory D. Lauppe, and Ryan Banhart.

Honorary pallbearers were Ronnie Holman and J. D. Masters.

Aleen H. Lush

Aleen Hairston Lush, 89, former resident of Clarksville, died Tuesday, July 31, 2007, in Ambassador Manor Nursing Center in Tulsa, Okla.

She was born in the Spadra Community to Ivan and Bertha East Gean and was a longtime member of Centenary United Church in Tulsa, Okla. She was preceded in death by two brothers, two sisters, and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

She is survived by her husband, Everett Lush.

Funeral was at 10 a.m. Monday, Aug. 6, in the Ninde Brookside Chapel in Tulsa, Okla., with Rev. Dick Bland officiating. Burial followed at 1 p.m. Tuesday. Aug. 7, at Kendall cemetery north of Hartman.

Donnie McCartney

Donnie Wayne McCartney, 48, of Ozark, brother of Marvin McCartney of Clarksville, died Saturday, July 28, 2007, at his home.

He was a native of Ozark, son of the late Curly Wayne McCartney, member of Butterball, Inc., catching crew and was preceded in death by one brother, Bobby McCartney.

Survivors include his fiancee, Linda Herbold of Ozark; one daughter, Katie Sanford of the home; one son, Dakota Herbold of the home; mother, Phillis Buchanan McCartney of Ozark; two sisters, Kim Key of Ozark and Teresa Clark of Van Buren; and two other brothers, Billy and Timmy McCartney of Ozark.

Funeral was at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 1, at Shaffer Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Philip Pardue officiating. Burial was at Gar Creek cemetery near Ozark.

Active pallbearers were J. J., Derek, and Travis McCartney, Junior Johnston and Bobby Buchanan.

Honorary pallbearers were cousins and friends.

Harold Blanscet

Harold W. (Ridgerunner) Blanscet, 63, of Paris, brother of Willie Geneva Blanscet of Hartman, died Tuesday, July 24, 2007, in Tulsa, Okla.

He was a son of the late Hiram B. and Minnie Davis Blanscet, Baptist, and retired truck driver for River Valley Tyson Foods.

Survivors include his wife, Sue Mars Blanscet; four daughters, Debra Anderson of Greenwood, Brenda Thiel, Lisa Hill and Marlene Moore, all of Paris; one brother, David Blanscet of Ozark; two other sisters, Betty Blanscet of Altus and Shirley Gresham of Ozark; one half-brother, Raymond Blanscet of Tustin, Calif.; one half-sister, Jewell Ray of Carson, Calif.; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Funeral was at 2 p.m. Saturday, July 28, at First Baptist Church of Paris with burial in Baxley cemetery at Paris.

Active pallbearers were Hollis Whitehead, Dan Graham, Mike Berry, Shannon Farmer, Clint Myers, Mike Frederick, Jimmy Moffett and Leon Rollans.

Honorary pallbearers were fellow truck drivers.

Lois K. Sexton

Lois King Sexton, 86, of Clarksville died Thursday, Aug. 2, 2007, at Countryside Manor Nursing Home.

A native of Clarksville, she was a daughter of the late Luster and Nette Feltnor King, widow of Ewell Sexton, and member of the Clarksville Church of Christ and the Mount Airy cemetery Association.

She is survived by two sons, Don Sexton and wife, Mary Ann, and Ronnie Sexton and wife, Kathy, all of Clarksville; one brother-in-law, Norman Sexton of Clarksville; four grandchildren, Kim Ballard, Lori Sexton, Stephanie Smith and Scott Sexton, all of Clarksville; and five great-grandchildren, Tori Wilhelms, Brody Wilhelms, Kaci Green, Brett Ballard and Phoebe Smith.

Funeral was at 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 4, at the Clarksville Church of Christ with John Ballard and Todd Rabalais officiating.

Burial was in Mt. Airy cemetery under the direction of Hardwicke Funeral Home.

Pallbearers were Bob Frost, Danny Leeds, Elvin Brown, Stan Brown, Aubrey Thomas, and Darrell Plank.

Louise K. McCullough

Louise Katheren Colbert McCullough, 75, of Altamonte Springs, Fla., died Saturday, Aug. 4, 2007, in Altamonte Springs, Fla.

She was a former resident of Hartman, member of Hartman Baptist Church, daughter of the late Peter and Barbara Jacobs, and was preceded in death by her husbands, James Colbert and Thomas McCullough and 11 siblings.

Survivors include two daughters, Lynette Newton and husband, Doug, and Janette Newbill, all of Easley, S. C.; one son, Kevin Connors and wife, Barbara, of Debary, Fla.; seven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Friday, Aug. 10, at Roller-Cox Funeral Chapel with Rev. Grady Glass officiating. Burial will be in Hartman cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Doug Newton, Josh Newton, Jason Daring, and Kevin Connors.

Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 9, at Roller-Cox Funeral Chapel.

Memorials may be made to Needy Paws Animal Shelter or Alzheimer's.
