Robert Wayland Hoyt

Robert Wayland Hoyt, 85, died Tuesday, Feb. 5, 2002, at Raleigh (North Carolina) Community Hospital.
He was a former resident of Johnson County, son of the late Robert Hershel and Ecka Elizabeth Holmes Hoyt, former employee of the Herald-Democrat in Clarksville and The Springdale News and of Phillips Lithographing Company in Springdale.
Survivors are his widow, Virginia Mae Threadgill Hoyt; one daughter, Sheri Lynn Broadway of Raleigh, N. C.; one son, Robert M. Hoyt of Blue Springs, Mo.; one sister, Coral Pinder of Long Beach, Calif.; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Funeral was at 7 p.m. Friday, Feb. 8, at Wakeminster Baptist Church with Rev. Merle Martin officiating. Arrangements were under the direction of Bright Funeral Home and Cremation of Wake Forest, N. C.
Graveside services and burial were Monday, Feb. 11, at Bluff cemetery in Springdale under the direction of Sisco Chapel of Springdale.

Susie Jane Chronister

Susie Jane Chronister, 94, of Fort Smith died Feb. 6, 2002, in Fort Smith.
She was born in Ozone to Simon and Margaret Warren, a member of the Free Will Baptist Church, and widow of Earl Zackery Chronister.
She is survived by two daugh-
ters, Edith Thornton of Fort Smith and Geraldine Dodd of Rudy; one son, Harry Chronister of Fort Smith; one brother, Fred Warren of Las Cruces, N. M.; 26 grandchildren; 63 great-grandchildren; and 24 great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral was at 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 9, at the Mountain Home Free Will Baptist Church.
Burial was in the Minnow Creek cemetery under the direction of Fentress Mortuary of Fort Smith.
Pallbearers were Harold Steed, Daniel Chronister, Jamie Dodd, Marcus Mitchell, Billy Chronister, and Pete Kovalck.

Allie N. Bridges

Allie Esther Nunley Bridges, 92, of Odessa, Texas, formerly of Clarksville, died Thursday, Jan. 17, 2002, at Avalon Place in Odessa, Texas.
She was a daughter of the late W. J. and Willie Carter Nunley, widow of Erna (Ernie) Bridges, and a member of Temple Baptist Church in Odessa, Texas.
She is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, April and David Newton of Odessa, Texas; three grandchildren and spouses, Paul and Mary Ellen Newton of Texarkana, Texas, and Jill and Lance Johnson and Jana and David Duckworth, all of Odessa, Texas; four great-grandchildren; and two brothers-in-law and six sisters-in-law, Floyd and Lennie Randall and Olen and Doris Bridges, all of Oklahoma, and Nettie Jacobs, Lucy Jacobs, Magdalene Dobbs, and Eula Bridges, all of Clarksville.
Funeral was at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 22, at the Landmark Missionary Baptist in Clarksville with Rev. Vernon Bass officiating.
Burial was in Union Grove cemetery under the direction of Roller-Cox Funeral Home.
Pallbearers were Ronnie Ashlock, Mike Mee, Joe Dan Calvin, James Allen Bridges, Norman Fortney, and Wendell Lee.

A. Howard Smith

A. Howard Smith, 76, of Clarksville died Tuesday, Jan. 15, 2002, at his home.
A native of Sudan, Texas, he was a son of the late Milton and Mattie Earl Ardis Smith, graduate of Vista High School in Vista, Calif., Air Force World War II veteran, member of Stillwell Bible Baptist Church and the VFW, lifetime member of Gideon International, retired construction superintendent, and was preceded in death by one daughter, Sharon.
Survivors include his widow, Virginia Smith; two daughters and one son-in-law, Cindy and Bruce Herron of Clarksville and Jan Smith of San Diego, Calif.; one sister, Margie Smith of Valley Center, Calif.; three brothers, Milton Smith of North Bend, Wash., Ken Morri of Belle Vernon, Pa., and Tom Morri of Columbus, Ohio; two grandsons and spouses, David and Ralyn Herron of Auburn, Ala., and Ryan and Holly Herron of Moore, S. C.; and five great-grandchildren.
Funeral was at 2 p.m. Friday, Jan. 18, at Stillwell Bible Baptist Church with Rev. Steve Askins officiating.
Burial was in Shady Grove cemetery under the direction of Hardwicke Funeral Home.
Pallbearers were Steve Zeigler, David Handley, David Griggs, John Burke, Bruce Phillips, and Joe Black.

Billy G. Mott

Billy G. Mott, 69, of Clarksville died Saturday, Jan. 19, 2002, at Sparks Regional Medical Center in Fort Smith.
He was a retired Air Force veteran, member of New Life Church, and son of the late L. A. and Zella Jones Mott.
Survivors are his widow, Norma J. Mott; one daughter, Trishia Rose Boyd of Craiksk, Canada; one son, Alan S. Mott of Lamar; one brother, Robert A. Mott of Oklahoma City, Okla.; and four grandchildren.
Funeral with full military honors will be at 2 p.m. Friday, Jan. 25, at Roller-Cox Chapel with Dr. Jack Glaze officiating. Burial will be in Oakland cemetery.
Pallbearers will be the Little Rock Air Force Base Honor Guard.

Dorothy Jinkins

Dorothy Jinkins, 58, died Friday, Jan. 18, 2002, in Cheyenne, Neb.
Survivors include her husband, Joe E. Jinkins; one son, Joe C. Jinkins of Clarksville; two daughters, Theresa Bridges of Arizona and Kathy Edger of Nebraska; nine grandchildren including Jason and Kenny Jinkins of Clarksville; two great-grandchildren; and three sisters.
A memorial service was held and the body was cremated.

David Wayne Ree

David Wayne Ree, 50, of Coal Hill died Friday, Jan. 18, 2002, at his home.
He was a son of the late Dennis and Pauline Ketton Ree, Mason, member of Hartman Methodist Church, graduate of Van Buren High School, former delivery man for Pepsi Cola Company, and was preceded in death by one brother, Ronald Ree; and one sister, Ruth Ann.
Survivors are his widow, Karen Yates Ree; one daughter, Lacey Ree of Van Buren; two stepsons, Joshua Freeman and Zachary Cremer, both of the home; one sister and brother-in-law, Linda and Roger Cates of Fort Smith; and two grandchildren, Tyler Ree and Hunter Ree, both of Van Buren.
Memorial graveside services and burial will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 23, at Gracelawn cemetery in Van Buren with David Qualls officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Hardwicke Funeral Home.

Gladys Eagle

Gladys Eagle, 72, of Russellville, sister of Emma Vinson of Clarksville, died Monday, Jan. 21, 2002, at AMI St. Mary's Regional Medical Center.
She was a native of London, daughter of the late Arthur B. and Pearlie Rae Darter Bocksnick, widow of Willie Eagle, member of the Wakefield Baptist Church in Little Rock, and was preceded in death by one son, Larry Archer.
She is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Theresa and Jim Gruber of Bedford, Texas; two brothers, Buster Bocksnick of London and Gary Bocksnick of Ozark; three other sisters, Sylvia Krisell of England and Ruth Lingo and Patsy Parker, both of London; and four grandchildren, Lisa Archer, Eric Archer, Jesse Gruber and fiance, Lauri French, and Justin Gruber.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 23, at the Piney Bible Baptist Church with Rev. Stephen Maczko officiating.
Burial will be in Brock cemetery under the direction of Shinn Funeral Service of Russellville.
Nephews will serve as active pallbearers.
