Mildred O. Tolbert

Mildred Ogilvie Tolbert, 90, died Monday, Jan. 13, 2003, at Johnson Regional Medical Center.
She was a native of Johnson County, daughter of the late Roland and Nora Bean Ogilvie, grew up in the Harmony-Lone Pine Community, attended school at Lone Pine, Harmony, Clarksville High where she was an honor graduate of the class of 1931, and the University of the Ozarks, taught school at Ozone for two years and worked in many of the family businesses in Clarksville during her almost 68 years of marriage.
She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, the Crape Myrtle Garden Club and a charter member of the Johnson County Historical Society. She was the widow of Russell Tolbert, and was preceded in death by one brother, Carmine Ogilvie; and three sisters, Lucille Ogilvie, Irene Ogilvie and Onita Ogilvie McClendon.
Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Jim and Burni Tolbert of North Little Rock and George and Wanda Tolbert of Franklin, Tenn.; four grandchildren and spouses, Cheryl and Billy Kenner of Knoxville, Brian and Kelly Tolbert of Little Rock, Thad and Connie Tolbert of Birmingham, Ala., and Paige and Steve Holleman of North Richland Hills, Texas; seven great-grandchildren, Dalton and Caitlin Kenner, Ben Bradley, Blaik Ziegler, Sam Holleman, and Owen and Seth Tolbert; one sister-in-law, Opal Tolbert; and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 6:30-8 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 15, and funeral will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 16, at Hardwicke Funeral Home with Burley King officiating. Burial will be in Oakland cemetery.
Active pallbearers will be Hank Sparks, E. L. Jacobs, Philip Taylor, Don Peters, Gerald Peeples and Don Johnson.
Honorary pallbearers will be Robert C. Baskin, Don Brown, Virgil Knight, Ira Jones, Gran Reynolds, Flynn Kinman, and Edd Young.

Pearl Martin

Pearl Martin, 96, died Sunday, Jan. 5, 2003, at Washington Regional Hospital in Fayetteville.
She was a former resident of Lamar and was preceded in death by her husbands, C. C. Reeves and W. N. Martin; and three sons, Edward Reeves, Bert Reeves, and Don Martin.
Survivors include two sons, Troy Reeves of Lincoln and J. T. Reeves of Porter, Okla.; one daughter, Marilyn Martin Avilla of Tulsa, Okla.; two stepsons, Paul Martin of Clarksville and Harlis Martin of Tulsa, Okla.; one sister, Jewell Reeves of Farmington; 18 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral was Thursday, Jan. 9, at the Baptist Church in Lincoln with burial in Dutch Mills cemetery.

Rhona G. Kennedy

Rhona Galbraith Kennedy, 88, of Clarksville died Thursday, Jan. 9, 2003, at her home.
She was a former resident of Little Rock, daughter of the late Daniel Cleveland and Lucy Britt Galbraith, widow of Harry M. Kennedy, and was preceded in death by two sisters, Farris McGough and Eliese Blue; and one brother, Doyle Galbraith.
She is survived by two sisters, Mary Lednisky of Clarksville and Mattie Chenault of Shreveport, La.; two brothers, W. J. Galbraith of El Dorado and James Galbraith of Abita Springs, La.; one sister-in-law, Joy Galbraith of North Little Rock; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral was at 11 a.m. Monday, Jan. 13, at Roller-Owens Chapel in North Little Rock with Rev. Billy Usery officiating. Private burial was in the National cemetery at Little Rock.
Local arrangements were under the direction of Roller-Cox Funeral Home.

Ronnie Dale Pitts

Ronnie Dale Pitts, 59, of Oark died Tuesday, Jan. 7, 2003, in Rogers.
He was a native of Clarksville, son of the late Orvil and Vanah Valaria Smiley Pitts, retired truck driver, and Army veteran having served two terms in Vietnam.
He is survived by two daughters, Rhonda Sue Peterson of Shell Knob, Mo., and Belinda A. Pitts of Bentonville; one son, Roney Alex Pitts of Springdale; four brothers, Orvil J. Pitts of Clarksville, Roy Pitts of Springdale, and Barney Pitts and Billy Pitts, both of Oark; and nine grandchildren.
Graveside services and burial were at 1 p.m. Friday, Jan. 10, at the Stillwell cemetery with Rev. Linda Tate officiating. Arrangements were under the direction of Hardwicke Funeral Home.

Sharon Rose Childers

Sharon Rose Childers, 62, of Alexander died Wednesday, Jan. 8, 2003, at Baptist Health Medical Center in Little Rock.
A native of Clarksville, she was a daughter of the late Garland E. and Mary Tolbert Woodard, widow of John Ray Childers, attended Clarksville Schools and Meadowview Missionary Baptist Church at Malvern, and was employed at Power Technology as an electronic technician.
She is survived by one daughter, Teri Crofford of Benton; one son, Steve Childers of Malvern; and four grandchildren, Brittany Crofford of Benton, and Krista Childers, Kara Childers and Drew Childers, all of Malvern.
Funeral was at 10 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 11, at Hardwicke Funeral Chapel with Rev. Fred Etheridge officiating. Burial was in Lamar cemetery.
Pallbearers were Joe Johnston, Jack Phillips, James Childers, Kenneth Childers, Ray Copeland, and Roy Richardson.

Vivian C. Rowbotham

Vivian Cook Rowbotham, 87, of Lamar died Sunday, Jan. 12, 2003, at Countryside Manor Nursing Home.
A native of Lamar, she was a daughter of the late Walter C. and Clara Etta Pearson Cook, widow of Woodrow L. Rowbotham, former resident of Mablevale, and was preceded in death by three brothers, Boyd Cook, Clyde Cook and W. C. Cook; and three sisters, Analee Cook, Winnie Dufeck, and Bonnie Havener.
She is survived by one brother, Ray Cook of Sikeston, Mo.
Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 15, at Hardwicke Funeral Chapel with Rev. Vernon Bass officiating. Burial will be in Lamar cemetery.

Jewell Shelby

Jewell Shelby, 92, a native of Clarksville and longtime resident of Crestline and San Bernardino, Calif., died Friday, Jan. 10, 2003, at Redlands Community Hospital.
She was a hairdresser for 20 years, member of Mentone Church of Christian Love, accomplished painter recognized by curators of several museums, and the widow of Woodye Shelby.
She is survived by one sister, Jean McNabb of Clarksville; and several nieces and nephews.
Viewing will be from 10-11 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 15, with services at 11 a.m. at Bobbitt Memorial Chapel in San Bernardino, Calif. Graveside services will be at Riverside National cemetery.

Charles Freeman Jr.

Charles Freeman Jr., 48, of Clarksville died Sunday, June 6, 2004.
He was owner of Freeman and Son Logging and son of the late Andy Freeman.
Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law, Tina and Robert Stufflebeam of Farmington; two sons and one daughter-in-law, Jason and Sara Freeman of Clarksville and Tyler Marlow of Lamar; mother and stepfather, Marie and Gerald McNinch of Russellville; three brothers, Andy Young of At-
kins, Lee Young of Pelsor, and Leo Young of Russellville; and five grandchildren.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Friday, June 11, at Roller-Cox Chapel with burial in Mt. Judea cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Jason Freeman, Clifton Papasan, Ricky Young, Lee Young, Greg Tumbleson, Andy Young, and Leo Young.
Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Thursday, June 10, at Roller-Cox Funeral Home.
