Eva Eunice Cowell

Eva Eunice Cowell, 84, of London died Wednesday, May 23, 2001, at London.
She was a Baptist, daughter of the late Charlie and Galasha Chavers Bruton, and was preceded in death by two brothers, Odis Bruton and Alfred Bruton; and one grandchild, Miranda Baney.
She is survived by her husband, Woodrow Cowell; four daughters and two sons-in-law, Wanda and Larry Haggard of Ozone, Eva and David Dale of London, Sharon Baney of Oilton, Okla., and Mary Johnson of London; one son and daughter-in-law, Ray and Laquita Cowell of Coal Hill; 15 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.
Funeral was at 2 p.m. Saturday, May 26, at Roller-Cox Chapel with Rev. Bob Holt officiating. Burial was in Lamar cemetery.
Active pallbearers were Andy Haggard, Lonnie Haggard, Sherman Cowell, Jarrod Parker, Jerry Christian, and Charles Ray Bruton.
Honorary pallbearers were James Cowell, Clayton Johnson, and Daniel Johnson.

James C. Roach

James C. Roach, 69, of Clarksville died Thursday, May 24, 2001, at Johnson Regional Medical Center.
A native of Altus, he was a son of the late James and Susie Clark Roach, graduate of Altus High School, and Army veteran of the Korean War.
Survivors include his widow, Flossie Roach; two daughters, Debra Spoor of Gardner, Kan., and Cindy Trout of Clarksville; three sons, Stephen Roach and Mike Roach, both of Eudora, Kan., and Robert Roach of Lamar; one sister, Helen Ballinger of Kansas City, Mo.; one brother, Howard Roach of Kansas City, Mo.; several half-brothers and half-sisters; seven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Graveside funeral services and burial were at 10 a.m. Saturday, May 26, at Nichols Chapel cemetery at Altus with Rev. Lance King officiating. Arrangements were under the direction of Hardwicke Funeral Home.

Leroy Kinser

Leroy Kinser, 88, of Hartman died Tuesday, May 22, 2001, at Beverly Nursing Home in Van Buren.
He was a native of Amsterdam, Mo., and a retired coal miner.
He is survived by three daughters and sons-in-law, Betsy and Don Doss of Van Buren, Patsy and Charles Evans of Hartman, and Linda and Allen Bryant of Coal Hill; one son and daughter-in-law, Edward and Jo Betsy Kinser of Warner Robins, Ga.; one brother, Junior Kinser of Woodland, Calif.; ten grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren.
A graveside memorial service was held at 1 p.m. Friday, May 25, at Hartman cemetery with Rev. Chris Rink officiating. Arrangements were under the direction of Hardwicke Funeral Home. The body was cremated.

Loyd Morris

Loyd (Jack) Morris, 78, of Lamar died Thursday, May 24, 2001, at Paris Health and Rehabilitation Center in Paris.
He was a native of Hartman, son of the late Bert and Nellie Linton Morris, and a member of the Springhill Masonic Lodge No. 118.
He is survived by one sister and brother-in-law, Lois and Donald Miller of Hartman; two half-sisters, Sharon Trout of Oklahoma and Mrs. Rick (Mary) Hembree of Van Buren; three half-brothers, Ewell Morris and Leo Morris, both of Fort Smith, and Larry Hurst of Clarksville, nephew and niece, Duel and Judy Miller of Hartman, several stepnieces and stepnephews; and companion, Iris Terry of Lamar.
Funeral was at 2 p.m. Saturday, May 26, at Hardwicke Funeral Chapel with Rev. Lance King officiating. Burial was in Hartman cemetery.
Pallbearers were Fred Dlugosh, Max Dlugosh, Duel Miller, Larry Lowry, Donald Lee Harkreader, and Jackie Thomas.

Marilyn I. Cemental

Marilyn I. Cemental, 46, of Hartman died Thursday, May 25, 2001, at Johnson Regional Medical Center.
A native of Pope County, she was a Baptist and preceded in death by her mother, Betty Sue Williamson.
Survivors include her husband, Ellis Cemental; one daughter and son-in-law, Angela and Derek Rowley of Atkins; one son and daughter-in-law, Ellis Ray and Nerissa Cemental of Coal Hill; father, Leonard Ray Heflin of Russellville; three stepdaughters, Dora Garcia, Lisa Cemental and Rachel Cemental, all of Odessa, Texas; four grandchildren, Amber Carter, Ashley Rowley and Tristan Rowley, all of Atkins, and Brodric Cemental of Coal Hill; and five step grandchildren.
Funeral was at 2 p.m. Tuesday, May 29, at North New Hope Church with Rev. Chris Rink officiating.
Burial was in North New Hope cemetery under the direction of Hardwicke Funeral Home.
Pallbearers were Junior Ross, Jerry Ross, Jimmy Cemental, Julio Cemental, Joe Hall, and Mike Ross.

Margie Clayborn

Margie Clayborn, 87, of Knoxville died Tuesday, May 22, 2001, at Johnson Regional Medical Center.
She was a native of Oakland, daughter of the late George William and Mary Elizabeth Owens Johnson, widow of Cecil A. Clayborn Sr., and was preceded in death by two children; three sisters; and two brothers.
Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Cecil A. (Michelle) Clayborn Jr. of Olym-
pia, Wash.; one daughter and son-in-law, Wilma and Ralph Denton of Mountain Home; two grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
Graveside services and burial were at 2 p.m. Thursday, May 24, at the Knoxville cemetery with Rev. Thomas Chenowith officiating. Arrangements were under the direction of Shinn Funeral Service of Russellville.

Michael L. Warren

Michael L. Warren, 50, of Ozone died Monday, May 14, 2001, from injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident 9.8 miles north of the Highway 21 and 64 intersection in Clarksville.
He was a retired Dow Chemical employee, Army veteran, and son of the late Audrey Inez Warren.
Survivors include his widow, Barbara Stepp Warren; one daughter, Jennifer Thompson of Kingwood, Texas; one son, Andrew Warren of Oak Harbor, Wash.; one stepdaughter, Joyce Dobbs of Hartman; one stepson, Sammy Stokes of Clarksville; parent, Bobbie Lee Warren of Ozone, one sister and brother-in-law, Susanne and Lanny Bicio of Ozone; and eight grandchildren.
Graveside services and burial were at 2 p.m. Friday, May 25, at the Russell cemetery at Ozone with Rev. Bob Herod officiating. Arrangements were under the direction of Roller-Cox Funeral Home.
Active pallbearers were Joe Merkling, Earl Molten, Allen Hill, Darrel Canon, Jimbo Stepp, and Bob Hency.
Honorary pallbearers were Sammy Stokes, Eugene Hill, William Hill, and Michael Dobbs.

Opal Onella Melson

Opal Onella Melson, 78, of Clarksville died Thursday, May 24, 2001, at Johnson Regional Medical Center.
She was a daughter of the late Cicero and Tugle Baskin Baxter, widow of Zanna Melson, and was preceded in death by two sons, Dane Melson and Wayne Melson.
She is survived by three sisters, Hazel Taverner of Ozone, Fern Taverner of Clarksville, and Betty Hignite of Houston, Texas; and one granddaughter, Paula Archer of Little Rock.
Private services were held. Arrangements were under the direction of Roller-Cox Funeral Home.
