Betty Williams

Evelyn Louise (Betty) Williams, 70, died Monday, April 10, 2001, at St. Mary's Hospital in Long Beach, Calif.
A native of Knoxville, she was a daughter of the late Henry Alfred and Mary Belle Williams, widow of Billy Joe Williams, member of the Knoxville First Baptist Church, retired employee of the United Parcel Service, and was preceded in death by two sisters, Jewell Troglin and Wilma Frazier; and three brothers, Kenneth, Ralph and James Williams.
Survivors include one son, Ricky Joe Williams of Bellflower, Calif.; two daughters, Janice Sue Gosting and Pamela Annette Williams of Bellflower, Calif.; one granddaughter, Ashley Annette Gosting of Bellflower, Calif.; three brothers and four sisters-in-law, Rhueal and Esther Williams, Truett and Donna Williams, Harold and Joanne Williams, and Mrs. Kenneth (Mary) Williams, all of Knoxville; and two sisters and one brother-in-law, Emma Sue and Don Karstetter of Fayetteville and Loretta Chronister of South Gate, Calif.
Funeral was at 3 p.m. Friday, April 13, at Hillside Chapel Rose Hills Memorial Park in Whittier, Calif. Burial was at Rose Hills under the direction of Gardenside Funeral Service of South Gate, Calif.

Clara Parker Hefley

Clara Parker Taylor Hefley, 89, of Russellville died Wednesday, April 11, 2001, at her home.
She was a native of the Flat Rock Community, daughter of the late Joseph B. and Lucinda Vinson Parker, widow of J. H. Taylor Sr. and Robert Hefley, member of the Pope County Home Demonstration Club and the Wesley United Methodist Church, active in 4-H and the Senior Adult Center, and was preceded in death by one son, James Taylor Jr.
Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, Wallace and Debbie Taylor of Albertville, Ala.; four daughters and sons-in-law, Mary Jo and Wayne Cassidy of Jackson, Ohio, Carol and Robert Wilson of Russellville, Lou and Jim Price of Glasgow, Ky., and Retta and Bill Henry of Dover; 20 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
Funeral was at 2 p.m. Saturday, April 14, at the Wesley United Methodist Church with Rev. Danny Rogers officiating.
Burial was in Oakland cemetery at Russellville under the direction of Humphrey Funeral Service.
Pallbearers were Joey Taylor, Bill Hovis Jr., Allen Hovis, Mark Williamson, John Price, and Mark Holland.
Memorials may be made to Wesley United Methodist Church, 300 North Cumberland, Russellville, AR 72801.

James K. Gillian

James K. Gillian, 76, of Clarksville died Thursday, April 12, 2001, at Johnson Regional Medical Center.
A native of Rosetta, he was a son of the late Elmer and Salome Hughes Gillian, member of the Church of Christ, and a retired Tyson Processing Plant employee.
Survivors include his widow, Ruth Price Gillian; two daughters, Ina Gean Lane of Hartford and Juanita Wyatt of South Fulton, Tenn.; one son, Jerry Price of London; one brother, Leon Gillian of Fort Smith; five grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
Funeral was at 2 p.m. Saturday, April 14, at Hardwicke Funeral Home with Dr. Robert Brown officiating. Burial was in Rosetta cemetery.
Active pallbearers were Rabin Vire, Bob Whitkanack, Kirby Yates, Ken Nelson, Donald Meek, and Alvin James.
Honorary pallbearers were Rip Teal, Bill Talley, James Lewis, Joe Fowler, Chris Graves, Larry Teague, and Randy Vire.

John Ray Young

John Ray Young, 61, of Fulton, Miss., brother of James Young of Lamar, died Wednesday, April 11, 2001, at his home.
A native of Paris, he was a former resident of Coal Hill, son of the late Robert Denver Young, owner and operator of Young Janitorial, and member of Bethel Apostolic Church of Amory where he served as a pastor at several churches during his early years.
Other survivors include his widow, Stephanie Young; one daughtr, Sheree Spann of Nashville, Tenn.; two sons, John Stephen Young of Fulton, Miss., and John Randle Young of Little Rock; mother, Jewel Gould Young of Fulton, Miss.; six grandchildren; and an aunt, Estelle Porter of Clarksville.
Funeral was at 2 p.m. Thursday, April 12, at Bethel Apostolic Church of Amory with Rev. Coy Hill officiating. Burial was in New Home cemetery at Fulton, Miss., under the direction of Senter Funeral Home.
Friends and church members served as pallbearers.

Lois Self

Lois Self, 74, of West Fork died Tuesday, April 3, 2001, in a Fayetteville nursing home.
A native of Oark, she was a daughter of the late John Wesley and Lillie Mae Cowan Ellison, widow of William Francis Self, a retired parts inspector, and was preceded in death by one son, Howard Ellison.
She is survived by one daughter, Sharon Harderson of West Fork; one son, Mike Self of West Fork; three sisters, Mildred Patrick of West Fork, Johnnie Melson of Wesley, and Lorene Staton of Russellville; four brothers, Cecil Ellison of Pasadena, Texas, Clois Ellison of Greenland, George Ellison of Springdale, and Noah Ellison of Marshall, Texas; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Graveside services and burial were at 10 a.m. Saturday, April 7, at Duncan cemetery near Ozark with Rev. Jerry Boatwright officiating. Arrangements were under the direction of Shaffer Funeral Home.
Active pallbearers were Josh Harderson, Isaac Harderson, Clayton Shannon, Chris Pennington, Brandon Morlock, and Billy Melson.
Honorary pallbearers were Carl Ellison, Ronnie Patrick, Stan Harderson, Jimmy Sargent, and Michael Morelock.

Ruby E. Kendall

Ruby E. Kendall, 94, of Clarksville died Monday, April 16, 2001, at Countryside Manor Nursing Home.
A native of Johnson County, she was a daughter of the late John Jacob and Mattie Patterson Bean, widow of Dane Kendall, member of the First Presbyterian Church and Women's Association, and was preceded in death by one daughter, Carolyn Kendall.
She is survived by several nieces and nephews.
Graveside services and burial will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, April 18, at Oakland cemetery with Rev. Lance Jones officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Hardwicke Funeral Home.

Thomas C. McCarley

Thomas C. McCarley, 63, of Conway, son of Ellen McCarley of Lamar, died Sunday, April 1, 2001.
He was a truck driver for ADCA.
Other survivors include his widow, Argie Reeves McCarley; four daughters, Debbie King, Patty Sanders, and Angie Rountree, all of Conway, and Pam Lawrence of Vilonia; one brother, Roy McCarley of Sherwood; and five grandchildren.
Funeral was at 3 p.m. Wednesday, April 4, at Roller-McNutt Funeral Home Chapel in Conway with burial in Lamar cemetery.

Kevin Lee Krachey

Kevin Lee Krachey, 27, of Sparks, Nev., grandson of Harold and Dora Krachey of Coal Hill, died Monday, March 22, 2004, at St. Mary's Regional Medical Center in Reno, Nev.
A native of Truckee, Calif., he was a son of the late Randy Krachey and the late Debra Ellison; and was preceded in death by one sister, Trina Krachey; and an uncle, Clyde Ellison.
Survivors include two brothers, Jason Krachey of Grass Valley, Calif., and Robert Krachey of Altos, AK; one stepbrother, Joshua Krachey of Riverside, Calif.; grandfather, John Ellison of Sparks, Nev.; grandmother, Mary Ellison of Hayden, Idaho; great-grandmother, Winnifred Spencer of Grass Valley, Calif.; aunts and uncles, Denice Calderon of Sparks, Nev., John and Marsha Ellison of Post Falls, Idaho, Dennis Ellison of Chico, Calif., Timothey and Karen Ellison of Couer d' Alene, Idaho, Rodney Krachey of Coal Hill, Linda and Lonnie Hamilton-Miner of Hillsboro, Mo., and Rick Krachey of Oconto, Wis.; great-aunt and great-uncle, Jean and Beverley Spencer of San Luis Obispo, Calif.; and cousins, Christopher, Keith and Shane Calderon of Sparks, Nev., and Jennifer and Brian Ellison of Couer d' Alene, Idaho.
Graveside services and burial will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, March 31, at Greenwood Memorial Gardens cemetery in Grass Valley, Calif., under the direction of Hooper & Weaver Mortuary, Inc.
