Mary Pearl Huff

Mary Pearl Huff, 93, of Hunt died Sunday, Jan. 4, 2004, at Johnson Regional Medical Center.
She was a native of Coal Hill, daughter of the late Ragon and Annie E. Hackney Ferrell, widow of Eugene P. Huff, member of the Coal Hill Methodist Church and the extension homemakers club, and a graduate of the first graduating class at Hartman High School.
Survivors are one son and daughter-in-law, Larry and Kathryn Huff of Hunt; three grandchildren and spouses, Brandi and Darrel Stricklin of Coal Hill, Amy and John Bass of Lake Charles, La., and Guy and Sherri Huff of Fort Smith; and eight great-grandchildren.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 7, at Hardwicke Funeral Chapel with Burley King officiating. Burial will be at Coal Hill cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Leonard Cowart, Charles Jones, Hoyt Knight, Harley Parker, Jim Welch, and Don Robert Hurst.

Martha L. Wewer

Martha Lucille Wewer, 85, of Scranton died Tuesday, Dec. 23, 2003, in Clarksville.
She was a member of First Baptist Church of Scranton, widow of Pete Wewer, attended Senior Citizens in Paris, and was preceded in death by her parents, Claude and Emma Hughes Yarbrough; three sisters; and four brothers.
She is survived by two daughters, Bessie Lee of Wichita, Kan., and Mary Lou Anderson of Delaware; six sons, Jerry Wewer and Bobby Wewer, both of Scranton, David Wewer of Paris, Danny Wewer of Stilwell, Okla., Gene Wewer of Batesville, Miss., and Eugene Wewer of Clarksville; 20 grandchildren; and 30 great-grandchildren.
Funeral was at 10 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 27, at First Baptist Church in Scranton.
Burial was in Prairie View cemetery under the direction of Roller Funeral Home of Paris.
Active pallbearers were Richard Wewer, Jessie Lovelace, Robert Murray, Travis Tebben, Todd Wilson, and Mike Koch.
Honorary pallbearers were grandsons and great-grandsons.

Neva Estelle Dove

Neva Estelle Dove, 78, of Pea Ridge died Wednesday, Dec. 31, 2003, at Northwest Medical Center of Benton County in Bentonville.
A native of South Dakota, she was a daughter of the late Clarence and Mary Illma Parsons Wallace, widow of Jesse Dove, former missionary to the Navajo Indians in New Mexico, member of the Assembly of God Church in Wynnewood, Okla., was active in the women's organization of the church, Vacation Bible School, and the children's groups and was a Sunday school teacher.
She is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Mary and Herbert Phillips of Pea Ridge; one granddaughter, Robin McGuire of Bentonville; four step grandchildren, Randy Phillips, Mary Malashevitz, Shari Miller and Anthony Phillips; and one great-grandaughter, Madison McGuire.
Funeral was at 2 p.m. Friday, Jan. 2, at Hardwicke Funeral Chapel with Rev. Dade Kindrix officiating. Burial was in Union Grove cemetery.
Pallbearers were Clois Yarbrough, Jerry Yarbrough, Olen Yarbrough, Rick Bowman, Randy Bowman, and Levi Willis.

Velma A. Wilson

Velma A. Wilson, 91, of Knoxville died Wednesday, Dec. 31, 2003, at her home.
She was a native of Knoxville, daughter of the late W. N. and Blanch Adams Higgs, widow of Jack Wilson, member of the First Baptist Church of Knoxville, served as president of the Knoxville cemetery Association for the past 25 years, and was preceded in death by one son, William (Kay) Wilson.
Survivors include two granddaughters, Chris Wilson of Apache Junction, Ariz., and Ann Wilson of Clearwater, Fla.; two great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral was at 2 p.m. Friday, Jan. 2, at the First Baptist Church in Knoxville with Rev. Richard Snyder officiating.
Burial was in Knoxville cemetery under the direction of Humphrey Funeral Service of Russellville.
Active pallbearers were Jody Storms, Timothy Storms, Andy Brightman, Phillip Freyaldenhoven, Kerry Nordin, and Jim Warren.
Honorary pallbearers were Ben Williams, Don Atkinson, and members of her Sunday school class.

Elmer Jones

Elmer (Dude) Jones, 76, of Clarksville died Monday, Jan. 5, 2003, at Johnson Regional Medical Center.
He was a retired Form-All Company employee, World War II Army veteran, attended New Life Christian Center, was a son of the late Johnnie J. and Mandy Clark Jones, and was preceded in death by his wife, Patsy Maxine Chapman Jones, and one sister, Hazel Highfill.
He is survived by one daughter, Patsy Ruth Jones of Clarksville; one sister, Evleen Gipson of Kansas City, Kan.; and two brothers, Ulus Jones of Clarksville and James Jones of Tahlequah, Okla.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 8, at Roller-Cox Chapel with Rev. Clisdal Ruffin officiating. Burial will be in Shady Grove cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Danny Goodin, Charles Box, Mike Gronstal, Charlie Goodin, Duane Steele, and Donald Meek.
Visitation will be from 6-7 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 7, at Roller-Cox Funeral Home.
Memorials may be made to New Life Christian Center, 2514 West Main Street, Clarksville, AR 72830.

Lillian Howerton

Lillian Rose Howerton, widow of Arthur William Howerton, died Monday, Jan. 5, 2004.
She was a Catholic and preceded in death by three sisters, Francis, Irene, and Hermina; one brother, Stanley; and two grandchildren, Arthur William Kotch and Beth Cornett.
She is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Wilma and John Helmert of Clarksville and Virginia and Bill Sampey of San Antonio, Texas; one sister, Jean Borowczyk of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.; nine grandchildren and spouses, Bob and Tammi Bartlett of Coppell, Texas, Gary and Pam Pruett, Brian Mann, Matthew Kotch, and Tommy Helmert, all of Clarksville, Penny Carter of Ozark, Michael Olson and Oscar Olson of San Antonion, Texas, and Tina Sampey of Portland, Ore.; 21 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
A private family memorial will be held.

Margaret E. Vaught

Margaret E. Vaught, 64, of Clarksville died Wednesday, Dec. 31, 2003, at Johnson Regional Medical Center.
She was a daughter of the late James Henry and Martha Susan Case Bohannon, a Baptist, and was preceded in death by one brother, Earnest Lee Bohannon.
Survivors include her husband, Dub Vaught; two daughters, Sharon Williams and Julie Jones, both of Clarksville; two sons, Junior Ashlock and Wayne Vaught, both of Clarksville; two sisters, Argie Beeman of Clarksville and Ruby Watson of Springdale; one brother, Odean Bohannon of Lamar; 15 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Funeral was at 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 3, at Roller-Cox Chapel with Rev. Burnett King officiating. Burial was in Swain cemetery.
Active pallbearers were Teddy Ray Bohannon, Roy Shook, Richard Mays, Bryan Landthrip, Ronnie Bohannon and Raymond Young.
Honorary pallbearers were Greg Ashlock, Scotty Ashlock, Robert Vaught, Bill Bohannon, Jerry Bohannon, and Jonathan Fales.
