Hartsel Warren

Hartsel Warren, 77, of Clarksville died Saturday, April 29, 2006, at Johnson Regional Medical Center.
He was a native of Salus, son of the late Manley and Effie Brison Warren, member of Batson Baptist Church, Army veteran of the Korean War, 50-year member of Harmony Masonic Lodge No. 433 and 50-year member of Harmony Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star, retired employee of the Arkansas State Forestry, and was preceded in death by one brother, Arnold Warren.
Survivors include his wife of 49 years Mary Lou Cooper Warren; two sisters, Irene Raymond of Elk City, Kan., and Juanita Brinkman of Coffeyville, Kan.; and four brothers, Argus (Doc) Warren of Lamar, Delbert Warren of Belfair, Wash., Kenneth Warren of Quinlan, Texas, and Bobby Warren of Clarksville.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, May 3, at Hardwicke Funeral Chapel with Rev. Richard Snyder officiating. Burial will be in Batson cemetery.
Active pallbearers will be Donald A. Warren, Clarence Warren, Brent Cooper, J. D. House, Kevin McGuire, and Brandon McGuire.
Honorary pallbearers will be Mark Brinkman, Glen Warren and Richard Hughes.

LaDanna Wise Goff

LaDanna Wise Goff, 51, of Clarksville died Friday, April 28, 2006, at her home.
She was a native of Sacramento, Calif., member of Jamestown Assembly of God Church, and was preceded in death by her mother, Leola Wise.
Survivors include one daughter, Christina Lummus of Clarksville; father and stepmother, Lindell and Neomia Wise of Clarksville; three sisters, Linda Wise of Bigelow, Mildred Anderson of Wellington, Utah, and Brandy Olivas of Price, Utah; and two brothers, Troy Wise of Lamar and Don Hanson of Stillwater, Okla.
Funeral was at 2 p.m. Monday, May 1, at Hardwicke Funeral Chapel with Rev. Dade Kindrix officiating. Burial was in Oakland cemetery.
Pallbearers were Homer Qualls, Frank Sampley, Harold Gene Barron, Byron Lewis, Chris Christiansen, Steve Frederick, Jack Heil and Kevin Metcalf.

Lilburn L. Williams

Lilburn Lane Williams, 90, of Fredericksburg, Va. died Monday, April 24, 2006, at The Hughes Home in Fredericksburg, Va.
He was a former member of the Johnson Regional Medical Center Auxiliary.
He received a bachelor's degree from the University of Central Arkansas in Conway and a master's degree from Louisiana State University, was employed in Arkansas public schools for 36 years as a high school physical education teacher, football, basketball and track coach, principal and administrator, served in the U. S. Army as a hospital recreation director during World War II, member of Tabernacle United Methodist Church of Fredericksburg, Va., lecturer on native wildflowers and fall colored foliage, and was preceded in death by his wife of 60 years Abbie Baird Williams.
Survivors include three sons, Dr. Forrest B. Williams of Falls Church, Va., Dr. Russell W. Williams of Fredericksburg, Va., and Carl R. Williams of Arlington, Va.; and five grandchildren.
Funeral was at 2 p.m. Saturday, April 29, at Welch Funeral Home Chapel in Montross, Va., followed by burial at the cemetery of the Providence United Methodist Church of Montross, Va.

Mary K. Hooten

Mary Kathryn Hooten, 90, died April 19, 2006, in Menard, Texas.
A native of Clarksville, she was a daughter of the late Mattie and Eugene Park, an educator, retired from Copperas Cove (Texas) ISD as a librarian in 1980 after 20 years of service, recipient of the Citizen of the Year award in Copperas Cove in 1980, 53-year-plus member and past worthy matron of the Order of Eastern Star Chapter No. 1070 in Copperas Cove, former member of Grace Methodist Church in Copperas Cove for several years and present member of First United Methodist Church in Menard.
She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Bill Hooten; three sons, Bill Hooten Jr. and wife, Patti, of Irving, Texas, Rex Hooten and wife, Doreen, of Kempner, Texas, and Max Hooten and wife, Barbara, of Menard, Texas; one sister, Florence Darnell; one brother, George Park; nine grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held from 1-2:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 25, at Calvary Funeral Home followed by interment at 3 p.m. at the DFW National cemetery in Dallas, Texas, with Chaplain Ralph Smith officiating

Neal E. Newman

Neal Edward Newman, 46, of Clarksville died Thursday, April 27, 2006, at AMI St. Mary's Regional Medical Center.
A native of Santa Rosa, Calif., he was a member of The Way Church, member and chaplain of the Christian Motorcycle Association, storm spotter, prison minister at the Johnson County Detention Center, and a rural volunteer fireman.
Survivors include his wife, Julie Newman; three daughters, Sonja Rudder and Sabrina Newman, both of Clarksville, and Stacy Newman of Modesto, Calif.; two sons, Chris Newman of Weatherford, Okla., and Jessie Rudder of Pelsor; parents, Faith Helms of Comanche, Okla., and Dean and Jeannie Williams of Dardanelle; two sisters, Penny Helms of Comanche, Okla., and Dorie Stanley of Dardanelle; three brothers, Ronnie Williams of Royersford, Pa., Bruce Williams of Waurika, Okla., and Ernie Williams of Merced, Calif.; three grandchildren, Destiny Rudder, Michael Rudder and Joseph Rudder, all of Clarksville; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral was at 2 p.m. Tuesday, May 2, at Hedgeway Church with Rev. Don Alexander, Rev. Gerry Smith and Chaplain Paul Northcut officiating.
Burial was in Oakland cemetery under the direction of Hardwicke Funeral Home.
Pallbearers were Chris Newman, Bruce Williams, Ronnie Williams, Delbert Helms, Donnie Wood, and Alex Smith.

Nancy Strackbein

Nancy Thayola Strackbein, 71, of Hartman died Sunday, April 30, 2006, at her home.
She was a retired office secretary, member of the Church of Christ, widow of Eugene H. Strackbein, daughter of the late Taylor Wallace Sanders and Mildred N. Clary, and was preceded in death by one son, Russell Edward Bellinger; one brother, Taylor Wallace Sanders Jr.; and one sister, Vicki Horn.
Survivors include three daughters, Jeanne Strackbein, DVM, and husband, Blake Hawkins, DVM, of Clarksville, Nancy and husband, Terry Singleton of Miami, Fla., and Kathy and husband, Dale Dodge of Hartman; one son, Wade Bellinger of Hartman; three sisters, Marjorie Kubicek of Denton, Texas, Alice Low of Sherman, Texas, and Laura Ann Nickerson of Santa Rosa, Calif.; 12 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 6, at Roller-Cox Funeral Home Chapel with Terry Singleton, minister, officiating.

Paul Blackard

Paul Blackard, 85, of Hartman died Sunday, April 30, 2006, at Clarksville Convalescent Home.
He was a retired farmer, heavy equipment operator, son of the late Harlan and Ola Parker Blackard, and was preceded in death by his wife, Lillian Halmes Blackard.
Survivors include one daughter, Karen Nordin of Clarksville; one son, Larry Blackard and wife, Carol, of Hartman; five grandchildren, Jeff Blackard, Eric Blackard, Nick Blackard, Bryan Nordin and Callie Nordin; and three great-grandchildren, Abby Blackard, Wyatt Blackard, and Tyler Blackard.
Funeral was at noon Tuesday, May 2, at Roller-Cox Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Amos Pledger officiating. Burial was in Bethlehem cemetery.
Pallbearers were Jeff Blackard, Eric Blackard, Nick Blackard, Bryan Nordin, Richard Van Der Martin and Duane Steele.

Thomas A. Fretwell

Thomas Allen Fretwell, 55, of Clarksville died Saturday, April 29, 2006, at Johnson Regional Medical Center.
He was a cattle farmer and son of the late John Raney Fretwell.
Survivors are his wife, Lisa Loch Fretwell; one daughter, Jennifer Fretwell of Clarksville; one son, Jonathan T. Fretwell of Riverside, Calif.; mother, Charlene Issacs Fretwell of California; and two sisters, Elaine Hackett of Oceanside, Calif., and Carol Fretwell of El Centro, Calif.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, May 3, at Roller-Cox Funeral Home with Rev. Amos Pledger officiating.
The body was cremated.
