Brent David Mason

Brent David Mason, 43, of Lamar died Wednesday, April 7, 2010, at Clarksville.

He was a native of Kansas City, Mo., cosmetologist, member of Clarksville First United Methodist Church and Rock Solid Clarksville First United Methodist Church contemporary praise and worship band and chancel choir, and was preceded in death by one brother, Kent Matthew Mason.

He is survived by two stepchildren, Sommer Riermaier and Britten Umholtz of Clarksville; parents, David and Gloria Hutchins Mason of Lamar; one sister and brother-in-law, Paula and Travis Rutledge of Clarksville; one niece, Sasha York; two nephews, Zac York and Jordan Rutledge of Clarksville; and four step-grandchildren.

Funeral was at 2 p.m. Monday, April 12, at Clarksville First United Methodist Church with Rev. David Hanshaw, Joey Hannah and Robert Williams officiating.

Burial was in Minnow Creek cemetery under the direction of Roller-Cox Funeral Home.

Active pallbearers were Steve Hutchins, Jimmy Hutchins, Keith Brown, Alvin Mason, Michael Mason, and Bryan England.

Honorary pallbearers were members of the Rock Solid Clarksville First United Methodist Church contemporary praise and worship band.

Eugene Goforth

Eugene F. Goforth, 85, of Cabot, father of Teressa (Shelby) Robinson of Lamar, died Friday, April 9, 2010, at Springhill Baptist Hospital in North Little Rock.

He was a native of Cabot, son of the late Aubrey C. and Roxie Grace Herrin Goforth, served in the United States Army in the Philippines during World War II, former service station operator, former employee of Fort Roots Hospital, substitute mail carrier, owner of an ice house, bait shop and sporting goods store, member and deacon of First Baptist Church of Cabot, and was preceded in death by five brothers and four sisters.

Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Fredia Boyd Goforth; one other daughter, Anita (Keith) Ihms of Little Rock; one brother, Ralph Goforth of Jacksonville; three grandchildren, Jason Tipton and Kalli Tipton, both of Little Rock, and Jennifer Tipton Campbell of Conway; and two great-grandchildren, McKinley Grace Tipton and Beau Taylor Campbell.

Funeral was at 10 a.m. Monday, April 12, at First Baptist Church in Cabot with Rev. Harold O'Bryan and Rev. Dick Avey officiating.

Burial was in Sumner cemetery under the direction of Moore's Cabot Funeral Home.

Memorials may be made to the library of First Baptist Church of Cabot or the charity of the donor's choice.

Lucy Jacobs

Lucy Jacobs, 94, of Clarksville died Saturday, April 10, 2010, at Johnson Regional Medical Center.

She was a native of Johnson County, daughter of the late John Franklin and Savannah Smith Bridges, widow of Fearel Woodrow Jacobs, member of First Landmark Missionary Baptist Church, retired Singer Company employee, and was preceded in death by two sisters, Lennie Randell and Nettie Jacobs; and two brothers, Oren Bridges and Erna Bridges.

She is survived by three daughters, Jean Iddings of Clever, Mo., Shirley Price of Clarksville and Phyllis Galbreth of Pleasant View, Tenn.; one son, Bobby Jacobs of Clarksville; one sister, Magdalene Dobbs of Clarksville; one brother, Olen Bridges of Camargo, Okla.; 10 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, April 14, at the First Landmark Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Vernon Bass and Rev. Ransom Storms officiating.

Burial will be in Kendall cemetery under the direction of Roller-Cox Funeral Home.

Active pallbearers will be Robert Gibson, Logan Phillips, Johnny Cline, Stephen Galbreth, Kevin Jacobs, Chris Tucker, and Bruce Phillips.

Honorary pallbearers will be James Price, Don Galbreth, Matthew Galbreth, Randy Cline, Bobby Don Jacobs, and Len Bradley.

Norville Bishop

Norville Bishop, 76, of Dover, father of Carolyn Matthews of Clarksville, died Tuesday, April 6, 2010, at Saint Mary’s Regional Medical Center in Russellville.

He was a native of Russellville, son of the late John Thomas and Betty Aslee Freeman Bishop, farmer, member of the North New Hope Assembly of God Church, and preceded in death by one son, Donald Bishop; one brother, Charles Bishop; and two infant sisters.

Survivors include his wife, Lillie Bishop; two sons and one daughter-in-law, Terry and Wilma Bishop and Perry Bishop, all of Dover; four other daughters and two sons-in-law, Betty and Juan Rodriguz of Roland, Okla., Shirley Little of Van Buren, Becky and Michael Rine of De Ridder, La., and Mary Nelms of Dover; one brother and sister-in-law, Billy Wayne and Kay Bishop of Marked Tree; four sisters and three brothers-in-law, Barbara and Pete Bell and Linda and Curtis Hand, all of Marked Tree, Lillie Fisher of Wynne, and Willie and Willard Hughes of Houston, Texas; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Funeral was at 10 a.m. Thursday, April 8, at Shinn Funeral Service Chapel in Russellville with Rev. Terry Svolos officiating. Burial was in the Booger Hollow cemetery north of Dover.

Pallbearers were oldest grandsons, Jeff Bishop, Charley Bishop, Michael Bishop, Greg Bishop, Justin Bishop, J. R. Larrison and Ray Young.

Paul Anthony Hatchett

Paul Anthony Hatchett, 42, of Summers died Monday, April 5, 2010, at his home.

He was a native of Los Angeles, Calif., son of the late Hazel Hatchett, 1986 graduate of Clarksville High School, received a bachelor's degree in aeronautical engineering from Spartan School of Aeronautics, and employed as a maintenance manager for Simmons Industries in Siloam Springs.

Survivors include his wife, Nina Garrett Hatchett; one son, Zach Hatchett of the home; one stepson, Andru Mefford of Martin, Tenn.; one stepdaughter, Amanda Sawyer of Clarksville; one step-granddaughter, Mik Smith of Clarksville; father, Roy Hatchett of Clarksville; one brother, John Hatchett and wife, Traci, of Little Rock; and two nephews, Jaxon Hatchett and Brock Hatchett, both of Little Rock.

Funeral was at 2 p.m. Saturday, April 10, at Wasson Memorial Chapel in Siloam Springs.

Pauline Bingham

Pauline (Polly) Bingham, 91, of Lamar died Sunday, April 11, 2010, at Clarksville Health and Rehab.

She was a daughter of the late William Frederick and Mary Haywood Dalton Daily, native of Dover but moved to California at a young age and was employed by Technicolor Studios in Hollywood for several years. She was also a real estate investor in Costa Mesa, Calif., active in the Daughters of the American Revolution, and was preceded in death by two husbands, Pert Sargent and Mike Bingham.

She is survived by two brothers, Jack Daily of Florida and Bob Daily of Georgia; and numerous nieces and nephews including local residents, Joe Ann Young and Johnny West.

The body was cremated. Local arrangements were under the direction of Hardwicke Funeral Home.

Tad Yount

Tad Yount, 45, of Clarksville died Sunday, April 4, 2010, from injuries sustained in an automobile accident on Highway 21 north of Clarksville.

Survivors include his mother, Roena Yount of Lamar; father, Aubrey Yount of Clarksville; one son, Brad Yount of Benton; one brother, Brit Yount of Clarksville; and two sisters, Gwen Bell of Plano, Texas, and Lynn Sears of Greenbrier.

The body was cremated. The family will hold a private memorial. Arrangements were under the direction of Roller-Cox Funeral Home.

Erika Renee Burns

Erika Renee Burns, 28, of Lawton, Okla., died Tuesday, April 6, 2010, in Lawton, Okla.

She was a native of Clarksville, Baptist, and daughter of the late Gary Poole.

She is survived by two daughters, Amianne and Maree Burns of Lawton, Okla.; one son, Gavin Burns of Lawton, Okla.; mother, Emily Stackhouse Shepard of Billerica, Mass.; and one brother, Christopher Poole of Massachusetts.

Funeral was at 2 p.m. Tuesday, April 13, at Roller-Cox Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Robbie Jackson officiating. The body was cremated.
