Edna M. Hosking

Edna Myrtle Hosking, 76, of Clarksville died Wednesday, Sept. 27, 2006, at her home.
She was a daughter of the late Olof J. and Eleanor Christensen, widow of Robert Frank Krans and Albert Hosking, member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, clerk/typist and licensed vocational nurse.
She is survived by three daughters, Valerie Jean Pentzer of Clarksville, Candy Willes of Logan, Utah, and Susan Dillinger of Roseboro, N. C.; two sons, Robert Krans Jr. and Sam Hosking, both of Roseboro, N. C.; one sister, Marilynn Jensen of Rio Linda, Calif.; six grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
Funeral was at 10 a.m. Friday, Sept. 29, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints with burial following in the Sunset Lawn Memorial Park in Sacramento, Calif. Local arrangements were under the direction of Roller-Cox Funeral Home.
Honorary pallbearers were Eric Pentzer, Jeremy Willes and Joseph Willes.

Gran Reynolds

Gran Reynolds, 97, of Clarksville died Friday, Sept. 29, 2006, at his home.
A native of Johnson County, he was a son of the late Henry B. and Selma Nichols Reynolds, member of the Church of Christ, former owner and operator of Reynolds Grocery and Cotton Gin in Lamar, Johnson County tax assessor for ten years, and an employee of Farmers Bank and Trust for 30 years. He was preceded in death by his wife, Neva Hodges Reynolds; and one daughter, Juanita Henry.
Survivors include two daughters, Winnie McReynolds and Karen Johnson and husband, Don, all of Clarksville; five grandchildren, Bill Henry, Craig Parks and Kim Shook and husband, Benny, all of Clarksville, Roy U. Slocum Jr. and wife, Nancy, of Branson, Mo., and David R. Slocum and wife, Paula, of Shreveport, La.; 13 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and special friends, Gladys Johnson and family.
Funeral was at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 3, at Hardwicke Funeral Chapel with John Ballard officiating. Burial was in Oakland cemetery.
Active pallbearers were Bill Henry, Roy U. Slocum Jr., David R. Slocum, Craig Parks, Lloyd Reynolds, Norman Reynolds, and Trenton Parks.
Honorary pallbearers were Dr. Jack Patterson, Lee White, Bob Hurley, and Don Johnson.

James N. York

James N. York, 79, of Knoxville died Sunday, Oct. 1, 2006, at his home.
A native of Osage, he was a son of the late John Campbell and Edna Ann Andrews York, and a retired truck driver.
Survivors include his wife, Anna York; one daughter, Rita Ramsey of Knoxville; one son, Jimmy C. York of Waldorf, Md.; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Graveside services and burial will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 5, at the Knoxville cemetery with Rev. David Zeiler officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Hardwicke Funeral Home.

Richard R. Brown

Richard Randolph Brown, 62, of Deer died Saturday, Sept. 30, 2006, at Johnson Regional Medical Center.
He was a son of the late James Owen and Elma Roe Wilson, employed as a farmer and logger, and was preceded in death by one daughter, Catherine Baughman.
Survivors include his wife, Dorothy Jane Pendergraft Brown of Deer; five daughters, Nadine Brown of Oregon, Tamra Nichols of Cecil, Doris Walls of Ozark, Rebecca Jones of Charleston, and Merinda Brown of Fallsville; eight sons, Randy Brown of Texas, Jerrime Brown of Lurton, Johnathan Brown of Shiloh, and Ezra Brown, Timothy Brown, Micheal Brown, Issac Brown, and Jubal Brown, all of Fallsville; one sister, Nellie Henley of Seagoville, Texas; 19 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Graveside services and burial were at 1 p.m. Monday, Oct. 2, at Union Grove cemetery near Nail with Rev. Amos Pledger officiating. Arrangements were under the direction of Roller-Cox Funeral Home.
The eight sons served as pallbearers.

Sarah M. Parker

Sarah May Parker, 64, of Barling, sister of Ruby Parker of Clarksville, died Tuesday, Sept. 26, 2006, at her home.
She was a native of Ozark, daughter of the late Alex A. and June McMillan Parker, member of the Kingdon Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses of Clarksville, a licensed practical nurse for 30 years, and was preceded in death by one daughter, Carmen Anderson.
Survivors include one son, William (Billy) Ray (Spud) Anderson of Barling; one brother, Jerry L. Parker of Ozark; two other sisters, Ruth Russell of Barling and Bonnie Sanders of Fort Smith; and several nieces and nephews.
Memorial services were held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 30, at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses in Clarksville followed by graveside services at Jackson cemetery in Franklin County. The body was cremated under the direction of Putman Funeral Home of Fort Smith.

Adrath O. Wheeler

Adrath Orval Wheeler, 89, of Clarksville died Saturday, Sept. 23, 2006, at Countryside Manor Nursing Home.
He was a retired truck driver, World War II veteran having served with the U. S. Navy's Construction Battalion, the CB's, son of the late Arthur and Clemme Meek Wheeler, and was preceded in death by one brother, Milo Wheeler.
Survivors include his wife, Etta Louise Wheeler; one daughter, Janice Hanshaw of Tulsa, Okla.; two sons, James C. Wheeler of Clarksville and Robert A. Wheeler of Ozone; 13 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.
The body was cremated.
Local arrangements were under the direction of Roller-Cox Funeral Home.

Christine Brown

Ruby Christine Colburn Brown, 84, of Altus, died Friday, Sept. 15, 2006, in Fort Smith.
She was a former resident of Hartman, daughter of the late Sam and Mary Dorney Colburn, widow of Hoyt Brown, retired beautician, and was preceded in death by one son, Larry David Brown; one brother, Cecil Colburn; and one sister, Jewell Ross.
Survivors include two daughters, Billie H. Mainard of Ozark and Mary Kathryn Irvin and husband, Ben, of Fort Smith; six grandchildren, Debbie Kremers, Jan Wilson, Donna Stewart, Michelle Nigh, Christina Lawrence and Diana Bubar; nine great-grandchildren, Kathryn Wilson, Kara Austin, Nicholas Kremers, Kasey Wilson, Stephanie Kremers, Dylan Carpenter, Lacey Stewart, Haylee Nigh and Angel Bubar; one great-great-grandson, Jackson Austin; two nephews; and one niece.
Graveside services and burial were at 2 p.m. Monday, Sept. 18, at Nichols Chapel cemetery at Altus with Rev. Todd Rowland officiating. Arrangements were under the direction of Shaffer Funeral Home of Ozark.
Great-grandsons served as pallbearers.

Dickie Lynn Jones

Dickie Lynn Jones, 56, of Clarksville died Wednesday, Sept. 20, 2006, at Arkansas Heart Hospital in Little Rock.
He was a native of Russellville, son of the late Benton and Opal Overby Jones, graduate of Pottsville High School and the University of the Ozarks, member of First Presbyterian Church, avid sportsman, member and past president of Arkansas Public Health Association, member and past president of Southern Health Association, member of SOPHE and ArkAHPERD, and was a 28-year employee of the Arkansas Department of Health where he was currently serving as a regional department of health supervisor for the Hometown Health Improvement Project for northwest Arkansas.
Survivors include his wife, Pam Shrigley Jones; one son, Benjamin Jones and wife, Loretta, of Mountainburg; two sisters, Betty Miller of Wisconsin and Patsy Jones of Florida; two brothers, T. J. (Jerry) Jones of Harrison and John Paul Jones of Morritlon; and two grandchildren, Dustin and Cody Stark of Mountainburg.
A memorial service was held at 2 p.m. Friday, Sept. 22, at the First Presbyterian Church with Rev. Lance Jones officiating.
The body was cremated.
Local arrangements were under the direction of Hardwicke Funeral Home.
