Inez D. Waldo

Inez D. Waldo, 78, of London died Tuesday, Jan. 3, 2006, at AMI St. Mary's Regional Medical Center in Russellville.
She was a native of the Flat Rock Community, daughter of the late Virge and Erma Marie Bocksnick Dale, widow of James Waldo, member of the Flat Rock Assembly of God Church and the Piney Extension Homemakers Club, and was preceded in death by two brothers, Dow Price and Ern Dale.
She is survived by two sons, David Dale and wife, Eva, of Lamar and Alfred Waldo and wife, Lee Ann, of London; three daughters, Linda Hollon and Gloria Conquest and husband, Jamie, all of Clarksville; and Erma Hormann and husband, Stephen, of London; two stepsons, Pete Waldo and wife, Carolyn, of Branson, Mo., and George Waldo and wife, Betty, of Dover; one stepdaughter, Kanna Lou Phillips and husband, Dayne, of Clarksville; two brothers, Espie Dale and wife, Renna, of London and Walter Dale of Lamar; one sister, Lois Whorton of London; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Funeral was at 2 p.m. Friday, Jan. 6, at the Flat Rock Assembly of God Church with Rev. Ronnie Birge and William Phelps officiating.
Burial was in Owens cemetery at Dover under the direction of Humphrey Funeral Service of Russellville.
Active pallbearers were Anthony Dale, Chris Hollon, Jason Young, Michael Prince, Steve Hormann, and Jamie Conquest.
Honorary pallbearers were Lloyd Estes, Clifford Faulkner, Steve Tillman, Delbert Whorton, and Bobby Hollon.

Margie Belle Martin

Margie Belle Martin, 94, of Ozone died Tuesday, Jan. 3, 2004, at her home.
She was a member of the Cassville Baptist Church, daughter of the late Andy E. and Nancy E. Cowan Brison, and the widow of Virgil Martin.
Survivors include four daughters, Rheta Keck of Siloam Springs, Nita Bolinger of Harrisonville, Mo., Bernadine Casey of Sand Springs, Okla., and Modena Ramsey and husband, Jack, of Russellville; one son, Dwain (Nick) Martin of Deer; 12 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral was at 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 7, at the Cassville Baptist Church with Dr. Jack L. Ramsey officiating.
Burial was in Cassville cemetery under the direction of Roller-Cox Funeral Home.
Grandsons served as active pallbearers.
Honorary pallbearers were Ebb and Jimmie Young, Stanley and Effie Gilmore, Faye Eddings, and Sonny and Phyllis Ellis.
Memorials may be made to the Cassville Baptist Church, P. O. Box 33, Deer, AR 72628.

Newt J. Smith Jr.

Newt Jesse Smith Jr., 81, of Clarksville died Saturday, Jan. 7, 2006, at Johnson Regional Medical Center.
A native of Knoxville, he was a son of the late Virgie Othel (Knuckles) and Newt Jesse Smith Sr., member of the Lighthouse Christian Center, and a retired heavy equipment operator after having been employed by Sterlin Hurley Farms for 19 years.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Lucille Smith; two daughters, Linda Holt of Clarksville and Shirley Callahan of Ozone; six sons, Ronnie Smith and Wayne Smith, both of Lamar, Rickey Smith, Dwayne Smith and Tony Smith, all of Clarksville, and Timothy Smith of Coal Hill; three sisters, Lillie Dukes of Alma, Martha Wood of Springdale, and Brenda Barnes of Rogers; one brother, Leon Smith of Lamar; 21 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral was at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 10, at Hardwicke Funeral Chapel with Rev. William Hickman officiating. Burial was in Minnow Creek cemetery.
Active pallbearers were Thomas Smith, Timothy Smith Jr., Ronnie Smith Jr., Bryan Smith, Mark Smith, and Ray Callahan.
Honorary pallbearers were Dale Meek, Bob Hurley, Leonard Kimbrel, Bryan Holt and Henry Gilbert.

Vaughn Shamblin

Vaughn Shamblin, 84, of Ozark died Saturday, Dec. 31, 2005, in Ozark.
A native of Hunt, he was a son of the late John and Frankie Jaggers Shamblin, senior administrator for Teledyne-Ryan Company, Baptist, and was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Jeffers Shamblin.
Survivors include one sister, Signa Lessley of Ozark; and one brother, Pat Shamblin of Victorville, Calif.
Graveside services and burial were at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 3, at Highland cemetery in Ozark with Rev. Ted Darling officiating. Arrangements were under the direction of Shaffer Funeral Home of Ozark.

Berta L. Houston

Berta Laster Houston, 99, of Clarksville died Sunday, Jan. 1, 2006, at Countryside Manor Nursing Home.
She was a native of Harmony, daughter of the late James Monroe and Louisa Turney Laster, widow of Denver Houston, attended Harmony Presbyterian Church, and was preceded in death by two daughters, Majorie Engbretson and Augusta "Tootsie" Dixie Chaney; and one son, James Laster Houston.
She is survived by one sister, Aulda Meek of Clarksville; three grandchildren, Janet Matney and husband, Dallas, of Sparta, Mo., Ron and Debra Greer of Strafford, Mo., and Carol Sue Engbretson of Decorah, Iowa; four great-grandchildren, Ronald Ray Greer III and Jacob Greer, both of Strafford, Mo., Jennifer Gray of Columbia, Mo., and Tiffany Matney of Decatur, Ill.; and one great-great-grandchild, Matthew Dallas Gray.
Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 4, at Hardwicke Funeral Chapel with Burley King officiating. Burial will be in Harmony cemetery.
Active pallbearers will be Kerry Sears, Dutch Houston, Dale Meek, Donald Meek, Abe Laster Jr., and Saulo Garcia.
Honorary pallbearers will be Gerald Laster, Raymond Wyers, Herman Houston, Ray Greer III and Jacob Greer.

Curtis L. Spence

Curtis Lee Spence, 21, of the Pine Haven Community near Upton, Wyo., whose father and stepmother, Lance and Virginia Spence, reside in Clarksville, died Tuesday morning, Dec. 27, 2005, from injuries sustained in a vehicle accident.
He was employed by his maternal uncle as a crew foreman for Benson Construction and was preceded in death by paternal great-grandparents, Frank and Shandon Kleinshmit; maternal great-grandmother, Marie Barnett; maternal grandfather, Benjamin Benson; and paternal cousin, Blake Cool.
Other survivors include his mother, Cally Spence of Pine Haven, Wyo.; two-year-old son, Landon, of Upton, Wyo.; two sisters, Alicia of Upton, Wyo., and Paige; one brother, Tanner, of Clarksville; one niece, Ayvree of Upton, Wyo.; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
Funeral was at 10 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 31, at Upton Elementary Auditorium with burial in Greenwood cemetery in Upton, Wyo.

Dora L. Daniels

Dora Louise Daniels, 64, of Pettigrew died Dec. 28, 2005, at her home.
She was a member of Salus Free Holiness Church and daughter of the late Dora Mae (Joiner) and Henry Hamilton Sr.
Survivors include her husband, Jerome Daniels Sr.; four daughters and sons-in-law, Cindy and Tom Cooley of Sneads, Fla., Jerri and Larry Willis of Hartman, Debbie and Ray Holt of Lamar, and Dawn and Eddie Dietz of Combs; two brothers, Robert Hamilton of Bentonville and Jerome Hamilton of Florida; one sister, Carol Arnold of Bonita Springs, Fla.; 12 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Funeral was at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 3, at Roller-Cox Funeral Chapel with Rev. Robert Boen and Rev. Larry Willis officiating. Burial was in Evans cemetery.
Pallbearers were Darryl Cooley, David Willis, Michael Willis, T. J. Hilton, Joshua Holt, Brandon Dietz, Brandon Arnold and Jamie Willis.
