Ashley Williams
Ashley Nicole Williams, 15, of Clarksville died from injuries sustained in a one-vehicle accident at 1:40 a.m. Friday, Sept. 9, 2005.
She was a native of Clarksville and was preceded in death by her father, Nicholas Dewayne Williams.
Survivors include her mother and stepfather, Stephanie and Johnny Edwards of Clarksville; brothers, Keegan Edwards of Clarksville and Dalton Williams of Fort Smith; grandparents, Gene and Sandra Over, Carolyn Oliger and Jerry Williams, all of Clarksville, and Jimmy Davis of Virginia Beach, Va.; and great-grandfather, G. W. Vaught of Clarksville.
Funeral was at 2 p.m. Monday, Sept. 12, at Hardwicke Funeral Chapel with Rev. Richard Snyder officiating. Burial was in Oark cemetery.
Active pallbearers were Brian Woodard, Tony Williams, Daniel Brandenburg, Josh Williams, Eric Teague and Tigger Callahan.
Honorary pallbearers were Jessie Jones, Jessie Sisco, and James Stewart.
Kenneth Doke
Kenneth Doke, 73, of Huntington Beach, Calif., died Friday, Sept. 2, 2005.
He was a native of Clarksville and a former resident of Oklahoma.
Survivors include his wife, Ann Doke; two children; and four grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at the Lone Pine cemetery in May 2006.
Mac Shackleford
Mac Shackleford, 79, of Conway, formerly of Clarksville, died Saturday, Sept. 10, 2005, at his home.
Prior to retiring, he owned and operated several businesses including a wholesale meat market with his father-in-law, Henry Nebling, and a restaurant in the AP&L building. In the 1970s, he was a real estate agent for Block Realty and later became a real estate broker forming his own real estate firm. He was a member of the Scimitar Shrine and the Brady Masonic Lodge.
He was a World War II U. S. Army veteran and recipient of four battle stars for his four major engagements in the 748th Tank Battalion under General George Patton in France and Germany including the Battle for the Siegfried Line and the Battle of the Bulge. He was a graduate of the University of Arkansas School of Law and former employee of Missouri Pacific Railroad.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Margaret Nebling Shackleford; parents, Henry Housen and Augusta Weise Shackleford; two brothers, J. Woodrow Shackleford and Henry W. Shackleford; and four sisters, Clara Leslie, Virginia Crowson, Pat Ingram, and Francis Crow.
Survivors include his wife, Pat Shackleford; one son, Bruce Shackleford; three stepdaughters, Jan DeLaO, Brenda McCrady, and Barbara Eggleston; one stepson, Rod Dickerson; and four grandchildren, Joe McCrady, Carly Somers, Michael DeLaO and Daniel DeLaO.
Funeral was at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 13, at Griffin Leggett Healey & Roth Chapel with Rev. Ben Bates and Rev. Jim Linderman officiating. Burial was at Pinecrest Memorial Park.
Active pallbearers were Wayne Shackleford, John Shackleford, Jim Shackleford, Carl Leslie, Bob Rhodes and Russell Rhodes.
Honorary pallbearers were William Grimmett, Johnny Golden, David Weise, Scott Shackleford, Norman Davis, Butch Patrick, Robert Siegler, Fred Plunkett and Bill Eason.

Z. H. Higgs
Z. H. Higgs Jr., 82, of Knoxville died Sunday, Sept. 11, 2005, at Russellville Nursing Center.
A son of the late Zenna Horace and Agnes Rebecca Ketcheside Higgs, he was a native of Knoxville, member of the First Baptist Church of Knoxville, employee of the Arkansas Highway Department for 21 years, and was preceded in death by one brother, Rye Higgs; and one sister, Margaret McCarley.
Survivors include his wife of 60 years Arlene Clayborn Higgs; two sons and one daughter-in-law, Derrek and Rebecca Higgs and Lon Higgs, all of Knoxville; two sisters, Mary Dean Green and Imogene Murphy, both of Fresno, Calif.; and one grandson, J. D. Higgs of Lackland Air Force Base in Texas.
Graveside services and burial were at 10 a.m. Monday, Sept. 12, at the Knoxville cemetery with Rev. Richard Snyder officiating. Arrangements were under the direction of Shinn Funeral Service of Russellville.
Evelyeen McMinn
Evelyeen McMinn, 76, of Dover died Friday, Sept. 16, 2005, at her home.
A native of Witt Springs, she was a daughter of the late Sam and Cassie Hollabaugh Gillam, widow of T. J. (Red) McMinn, attended the Household of Faith at Clarksville, and was preceded in death by one son, Lloyd Ray Nichols, and one daughter, Ruby Lou McMinn.
She is survived by two sons, James McMinn and William McMinn, both of Dover; six daughters, Martha Massie, Mary Bishop, Judy Craig, Linda Brashear, and Cassie Brown, all of Dover, and Susanna Domerese of Kansas City, Mo.; 28 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and several brothers, sisters, nieces and nephews.
Graveside services and burial will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 21, at Booger Hollow cemetery at Dover with Rev. John Freeman officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Humphrey Funeral Service, Inc. of Russellville.
Jeanette Allen
Jeanette Wadley Allen, 57, of Pocola, Okla., died Friday, Sept. 9, 2005, at her home.
She was a native of Clarksville, daughter of the late Erin Wadley, attended Harvest Time Tabernacle, former Sebastian County deputy sheriff, and a member of the American Quarterhorse Association.
Survivors include her husband, Robert Allen; one daughter, Patti Pinter of Fort Smith; one son, Donald Eveld Jr. of Fort Smith; mother and stepfather, Joan and James Paxson of Clarksville; and five grandchildren, Alan, Bret and Claire Pinter and Lindsey and Kylie Eveld.
Funeral was at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 13, at Lewis Funeral Chapel in Fort Smith with burial at Woodlawn Memorial Park.
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
Jim C. Fritts
Jim C. Fritts Jr., 57, of Clarksville died Tuesday, Sept. 13, 2005.
He was self-employed, owner of Jim Fritts Auto Plex in Clarksville, youth baseball and basketball coach, and member of the Clarksville Chapter of Ducks Unlimited.
Survivors include his wife, Christine Curvin Fritts; three daughters, Kelsey A. Curvin of the home, Michelle Nichols and husband, James, of Fayetteville, and Candice Fritts Vergara and husband, Armando, of Clarksville; one son, J. Mackenzie Curvin of the home; two host students, Peter Urban of Slovakia and Steffen Poulsen of Denmark; one sister, Glynda Pollard of Tulsa, Okla.; and two grandchildren, James Nichols of Fayetteville and Noah Vergara of Clarksville.
Funeral was at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Sept. 16, at the Clarksville Church of Christ. Arrangements were under the direction of Shaffer Funeral Home of Ozark.
Pallbearers were past and present members of the Clarksville Renegades Baseball team.
