Barbara E. Moore

Barbara E. Moore, 64, of Danville, mother of Jimmy David Moore Jr. and Jeena Schuster, both of Clarksville, died Tuesday, June 1, 2010, at Danville.

She was a native of San Diego, Calif., member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, retired, and preceded in death by her parents, Leonard Marler and Elizabeth Dow; stepfather, Cecil Dow; and stepmother, Billie Jo Marler.

Survivors include her husband, Jimmy Moore; one other daughter, Jymae Lopez of Siloam Springs; three other sons, Auston Ring of North Little Rock, Aaron Ring of Sherwood, and Jarrod Moore of Danville; four sisters, Ivann Hardford of Tulsa, Okla., and Mary Smith, Marie Vajda, and Margie Gray, all of Danville; one brother, Larry Marler of San Diego, Calif.; 14 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Funeral was at 2 p.m. Friday, June 4, at Roller-Cox Funeral Home Chapel with David Torgerson and Carolyn Taylor officiating. Burial was in Knoxville cemetery.

Doras G. LaRue

Doras Geneva LaRue, 81, of Dover died Friday, June 4, 2010, at Saint Mary's Regional Medical Center in Russellville.

She was a native of Brooken, Okla., daughter of the late Harvey and Gracie Lee Criner Cowan, widow of Ed LaRue, member of the Pleasant Grove Assembly of God Church, and was preceded in death by one son, James LaRue.

She is survived by two sons, Jerry LaRue and wife, Barbara, of Hagarville and Kenny LaRue and wife, Mary, of Lamar; two daughters, Linda Allen and husband, Jerry, and Brenda Freeman and husband, E.L., all of Dover; 17 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; one sister, Dean Pease of Russellville; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral was at 10 a.m. Tuesday, June 8, at Humphrey Funeral Service Chapel in Russellville with Phillip Collie officiating. Burial was in Pollard cemetery at Dover.

Active pallbearers were Kenny LaRue Jr., Lee Freeman, Jason Freeman, Lee Eddings, Evan LaRue, Mark Wadkins, Justin Vanderpool and Doyle McCann.

Among the honorary pallbearers were grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and LaRue family members.

Edythe Louise Bly

Edythe Louise Bly, 87, died Tuesday, June 1, 2010, at her home in Granbury, Texas.

She was preceded in death by one son, Michael Bly.

Survivors include her husband of 62 years, Bill Bly; two sons, Luke Bly and wife, Pat, and Zack Bly; two daughters, Jackie Sweat and husband, Doug, and Billie Moore and husband, Alden; six grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; one brother, John Myers; and one sister, Jean Tipton.

Funeral was at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, June 5, at Roller-Cox Funeral Home Chapel with burial in Oakland cemetery.

Kevin Lee Leech

Sergeant First Class Kevin Lee Leech, 38, of Fort Leonard Wood, Mo., whose sister and brother-in-law, Vickie and Ricky Staggs, reside in Knoxville, died Friday, May 28, 2010, at Fort Leonard Wood, Mo.

He was a native of Texarkana, Texas, former resident of Russellville, son of the late Judy Whorton Leech, attended Russellville High School, 1990 graduate of Atwood High School in Illinois, served in the military for 19 years as a combat engineer and was an Army veteran of Operation Iraqi Freedom, volunteer fireman with the St. Roberts Fire Department near Fort Leonard Wood, Mo., served as a youth softball coach, an avid outdoorsman, and was preceded in death by one brother, Bobby Leech Jr.

Survivors include his wife, Tracie Whych Leech; six daughters, Amber Leech and Carolyn J. Leech, both of Anoka, Minn., Khodi Leatherwood and Kheli Bartlett, both of Fort Leonard Wood, Mo., Tiffany Campos of Florida, and Kelley Leanne; one son, Nathan Leatherwood of Lubbock, Texas; five grandchildren; father, Robert K. Leech of Gays, Ill.; maternal grandmother, Elsie Whorton of London; one other sister and brother-in-law, Cindy and Billy Thomas of London; and three brothers, Jerry Leech and Gary Leech, both of Illinois, and Steven Leech of Kansas.

Funeral was Saturday, June 5, at Humphrey Funeral Service Chapel with Jim Bob Humphrey and Captain Faley of St. Roberts Fire Department officiating. Burial with full military honors was at East Point cemetery in Russellville.

Rowland Edward Lee Jr.

Rowland Edward Lee Jr., 49, of Lamar, a native of Austin, Texas, died Monday, May 31, 2010, at his home.

Survivors include his wife, Tracy Kelley Lee; one daughter, Savannah Lee of Lamar; one son, Cody Lee of the home; one stepson, Justin Patton of Lamar; mother, Beverly Ragsdale of Lamar; father and stepmother, Mr. and Mrs. Rowland (Carolyn) Lee Sr. of Burlington, N.C.; two sisters, Janeen Robinson and Steve of Lamar and Janice Lee of New Blaine; two grandchildren, Ian Carter and Laddie Brown; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Debbie and Charles Vick of Lamar; sister and brother-in-law, Heidi and Ronnie Ritchie of Benton; brothers-in-law, Tony Vick and Jimmy Kelley of the Spadra Community; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral was at 2 p.m. Thursday, June 3, at Hardwicke Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Claude Froggatt officiating. Burial was in Minnow Creek cemetery.

Pallbearers were Charles Vick, Ronnie Ritchie, Tony Vick, Justin Patton, Eddie Neria, and Ramon Arias.

Steven Skidgel

Funeral for Steven (Beaver) Skidgel, 54, of Van Buren, who died Saturday, June 5, 2010, at his home, will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday, June 9, at Ocker Memorial Chapel in Van Buren followed by burial at Oakland cemetery in Clarksville.

Pallbearers will be Mike Williams, Steve Napier, Rick Kimer, and Norman Parrish.

He was a heavy equipment operator at Forsgren Inc., Baptist, and son of the late Virgie Roberts Skidgel.

Survivors include his wife, Debi Engel Skidgel; three daughters, Natalie and Samantha DeSchryver, both of Fort Smith, and Charlene Skidgel of Van Buren; one son, Steven Skidgel Jr. of Fort Smith; father, Bill Skidgel of Fort Smith; one sister, Connie Martin of Van Buren; one brother, Bruce Skidgel of Fort Smith; two grandchildren, Charish and Makayla DeSchryver, both of Fort Smith; and several nieces and nephews.

Virnal L. Ridgley

Virnal Leroy Ridgley, 83, of Dardanelle, brother of Ernest Ridgley of Lamar, died Tuesday, June 1, 2010, at his home.

He was a native of Pottsville, son of the late Edward and Ella Carr Ridgley, Pentecostal, member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and Disabled American Veterans, and was preceded in death by his wife, Rosie Ridgley; and one brother, Carl Ridgley.

Other survivors include four sons, J.D., Jimmy and Kenny Ridgley, all of Sacramento, Calif., and Robert Ridgley of Pottsville; four daughters, Shirley Bell, Yvonne Johnson and Nevonne Roina, all of Sacramento, Calif., and Caroline Cauley of Dardanelle; three sisters, Carolyn Gadberry and JoAnn Ridgley, both of Dardanelle, and Alline Holt of Pottsville; 34 grandchildren; 59 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral service and burial will be in Sacramento, Calif., at a later date.

Local arrangements were under the direction of Cornwell Funeral Home in Dardanelle.

Garth E. Baskin

Garth E. Baskin of Clarksville, Arkansas, was born October 26, 1921, in Harmony Community, Arkansas. He was the son of Dewey Buchanan Baskin and Essie (Jacobs) Baskin. He died April 30, 2010, at his home, at the age of 88. He was a loving husband, exemplary father, and a true and caring friend to the many who were privileged to know him over the years. Garth was an avid gardener, an expert fisherman, and a fine cook. He was a World War II veteran, having served as a pilot in the U.S. Navy from 1943-1946, and at the time, was the youngest officer to hold a command. Garth was a retired educator, having been a principal in Grove, Oklahoma, and finishing his career as the Director of Vocational Rehabilitation for the state of Oklahoma. He is preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Blake Baskin and Wade Baskin. Survivors include one brother, Mercein Baskin and wife, Shirley, of Atlanta, Georgia, three sisters, Reba Laster and husband, Abe, Marilyn Kilcrease, and Ann Schmatjen, all of Clarksville, Arkansas.

Garth leaves behind his beloved wife, Gerry Baskin, and their children: two daughters, Brenda Darnell and husband, Larry, of Vinita, Oklahoma, and Keri Bivins and husband, Ed, of Kingfisher, Oklahoma; four sons, Randy Baskin and wife, Shirley, of Wichita, Texas, Blake K. Baskin of Claremore, Okla., Tim Edmondson and wife, Julie, of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, and Trent Edmondson and wife, Kathy, of Grapevine, Texas; 17 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.

The pallbearers were Josh Baskin, Aaron Baskin, Jed Darnell, Gabriel Darnell, Israel Darnell, and Luke Darnell.

The honorary pallbearers were Ed Bivins, Tim Edmondson, Trent Edmondson, Larry Darnell, Abe Laster, Jordan Polson, Kenny Baskin, and Danny Baskin.

The family received friends from 6-8 p.m. Monday, May 3, 2010, at Roller-Cox Funeral Home, Clarksville, Arkansas. Funeral service was at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 4, 2010, at Harmony Presbyterian Church. Reverend Tracy Julian officiated. Burial was in Harmony cemetery. Roller-Cox Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Jon Noah Simpson

Jon Noah Simpson, 29, of Clarksville died Saturday, May 1, 2010, in Johnson County.

He was born in Dardanelle, graduated from Clarksville High School in 1999, spent four years in the U.S. Coast Guard, employed by the Veterans Administration at Fayetteville, student at Blue Cliff College in Fayetteville, and was preceded in death by his grandparents, Russell Stickley, and Billy R. and Emma Jean Walker Simpson.

Survivors include his parents, Mark and Lisa Simpson of Clarksville; grandmother, Mary Stickley of Hartman; one sister, Dinah Lewis and husband, Andrew, of Clarksville; one niece, Emerson Lewis of Clarksville; one nephew, Lawson Lewis of Clarksville; and great-aunt, Joanne Jacobs of Benton.

Private graveside services and burial will be Wednesday, May 5, at Oakland cemetery under the direction of Hardwicke Funeral Home.

Memorials may be made to Needy Paws Animal Shelter, P. O. Box 523, Clarksville, AR 72830.
